Das Baby ist da

Das neue Baby ist da und soll bei Familie und Bekannten vorgestellt werden. Beim letzten Mal, vor zwei Jahren, haben wir eine schöne Email designt, in der Platz für zwei Fotos und einen ausführlichen Text über das frischgeschlüpfte Kind war. Dieses Mal haben wir weniger Zeit und Lust, uns über die Form Gedanken zu machen. Wir recyceln die schön designte Email und tauschen nur Bilder und Text aus.

Allerdings merke ich, dass mir eine Mail jetzt gar nicht ausreicht. Viele Freundschaften, die sich in den letzten zwei Jahren neu entwickelt haben, finden in Kontexten statt, in denen ich keine Mailadressen erfahre und es auch total absurd fände, danach zu fragen. Was ich aber kenne, sind Handynummern und die jeweils bevorzugten Messenger-Apps.

Wir verschicken die Mail nur an die nahestehenden Familienmitglieder und an Freund_innen, die wir schon lange kennen. In einer Mailingliste mit meinen direkten Kolleg_innen schicke ich eine etwas knappere Version der Mail.

Zusätzlich poste ich in mehreren Gruppenchats (WhatsApp) ein Foto vom Baby mit einem für die jeweilige Gruppe angepassten Text. Weiteren befreundeten Menschen schreibe ich persönlich (WhatsApp, Signal) in unterschiedlichem Detailgrad.

In den Gruppenchats wird knapp und herzlich gratuliert. In den persönlichen Chats entwickelt sich jeweils ein individueller Austausch mit Rückfragen, hier erzähle ich am meisten Details über die Geburt und das Kind. Auf die private Email reagieren fast alle mit einer kurzen Glückwunschmail, allerdings sehe ich diese Mails nicht, weil sie nur an den anderen Elternteil geschickt werden. Eine der Antworten auf meine Mail für Kolleg_innen landet in meinem Spamordner.

In sozialen Medien poste ich dieses Mal gar nicht. 2021 war ich auf Twitter aktiv und fand es schön, meine Neuigkeit dort zu teilen, sogar mit Bild (Gesicht nicht sichtbar), aber ohne persönliche Informationen (Geschlecht, Name des Kindes). Jetzt, 2023, ist mein Twitteraccount inaktiv, ich habe Twitter für mich (noch?) nicht durch eine alternative Plattform ersetzt, und ich fühle kein Bedürfnis, den Familienzuwachs irgendwie anders öffentlich bekanntzugeben.
