A New Life (And It's First Steps)

Here's a late fill to Day Six of ANS Rare Pair Week 2022! This is a RajiYuki fanfic, set in a mixture of Fullmetal Alchemist Conqueror of Shamballa/2003, and Brotherhood, with a few added twists and turns. :)

When you first played Pn2 were you drawn to Dion's character? Did you hate him at first? Really like some other character? Ect?

I've said this somewhere before but I haven't,,, actually,,,, played the games?? Like,,, at all???

Psychonauts falls into that category of fixations where I fall in love with the lore and characters and story without ever actually playing the game. I have watched playthroughs though!

Anyway. When I first got into my PN fixation, Raz was the main blorbo. Raz was the little guy my brain was latched onto, and thus the guy I sought out silly little fics about when I finished watching playthroughs of the first game and desired more content. And then it shifted to Raz & Dion siblinghood content, because Raz & Dion siblinghood fics like It's Been a Long Day and Paved With Good Intentions absolutely destroyed me and left me wanting more. And from there Dion simply,,, became the main blorbo. Stress Ball #1. The guy I would like to crumple like a receipt.

This story focuses on Qi Xiaotian, the Monkey Prince, and young “human” orphan MK as the two try to reunite while also avoiding every third party force trying to use the two for their own personal gain.

Summary: When Macaque was killed, he expected his soul to be taken to the Diyu. Instead, he finds himself stuck to Wukong- the very man who ended his life. When Soul collectors come to see what the hold up is, they inform him that as the two had been tethered in life, so too are they in death. Macaque will only ever be free when Wukong has found peace and moves on. This goes on for a long time, yet when Macaque feels the tether start to loosen, he panics and realizes- he doesn't want Wukong to let him go.

Together they live there until the child is born. 5 years later, Wukong's Journey To the West is done. Returning home to no mate or child, he is desperate to track them down and bring them home. A certain Bull King and Iron Fan stand in his way.

Hiding him with a glamor and instilling a misguided loyalty to the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor is insistent one of the twins must still die, but agrees to keep MK around, hoping to find a chance to kill the other twin instead and keep the loyal MK as his own bodyguard.

Xiaohua, who is abandoned at an orphanage, winds up being taken in by the Spider Queen when he shows promise as a thief. Xiaohua is living the life of crime, while in return MK (Xiaotian) is being raised to follow in his Father's footsteps as a hero. The two eventually meet and clash.

Summary: yet Another Taken Au “what if”? This one inspired by the concept of… what if MK had been found by Wukong after being Taken by Nezha. Fate bringing the two together. Unable to resist the sweet little boy’s charms, Wukong takes him to have a playdate with his own son. From there, MK’s life is turned upside down as neither Xiaotian nor his parents want to send him away. Seems… he’s found his home. But what consequences will this bring??

MK went with Wukong, and Xiaohua with Macaque. When the two get older, they manage to miraculously meet at a Summer Camp and discover the truth. Now these two working on a plan to reunite their parents.

-most may know this, but I changed the plot of the Story within the first few chapters. When Wukong left to head to the City, intent on finding a new home for his son… he was originally intended to go through with that.

I have Many MANY chapters of this unfolding- of Wukong actually going through with abandoning MK.

It was farrrr different than what the story has changed to now. And I love the direction the story is now going, but I had a lot of angst planned for the original :)

One day I might even post what originally was intended to happen.

Seven Years Too Soon by NightFuchia. Basically what if a much younger Sonic accidentally set Shadow free from Prison Island. It has awesome characterization and happens to be one of my favorite stories. The rest of Team Sonic is also present

Brotherhood's Twist by @/drawloverlala even though I don't think it counts entirely as Au but it still sort of does. Unbreakable Bond ageswitch due to Zeti's meddling.

Passion's @sonic-tangled-au . I love it! So very much. The lore and backstories are so good.

Noonui's World Restored in Imbalanced Chaos au. Extremely engaging and good. Has a bunch of world building and fun concepts and lore.

Sonic's Super Totally Awesome Mixtape, though it seems to be discontinued, I'm not sure. It's pretty good so far! Takes place in the movie verse.

@brainworms-all-night-long is working on a Dreamtale Au which I'm hyped for. The tag in use is 'dreamtale and sonic tomfoolery'.

The Fair Folk by Irritable_Fabulamancer, this fic is one of my favorites! Team Sonic as Fae my beloved! I love fae AUs.

On that note, if you're alright wanting to read a Fae!AU which is pretty much a sonadow fic, there is also I don't believe in fairy tales [but I believe in you and me]. Fantasy and Fae! Satbk inspired, another one that had me hooked.

My Arms Are Blue by thekyuubivixen and its unofficial, fan-continuation (My Arms Are Blue! Final Four Edition) by PlaystationPassenger. The story doesn't completely count as an AU but I'm recommending them anyway cuz they're really really good and has that watching your own show from different dimension trope. It's also hilarious and fun.

Burning Arrow, Wildfire Heart by Taranea is SatSR novelisation AU with Sonic's other friends present too, it's pretty fun. Not very accurate regarding the desert but it's a good read and I come back to reread it often. Must read in my opinion. Just don't dare use it as guide for desert travel or you'll be shriveled up in the sand somewhere

This fic. Read it, I will not elaborate this one. Just trust me :]

Sometimes the Picket Fence isn’t Perfect and Sharp Edges (Sonic Prime AU) series by @/skimmingthesurfaces. I'm holding off the first one to read later, like that one book you've been saving so I'm not sure if it completely counts as an AU, still putting it in recs, and the second one is intriguing so far. I have heard a lot of good thing about the Picket Fence series.

Dark Boom by Smash50. The entirety of Team Dark in the Sonic Boom universe. Alongside it, there's also Boomtober by the same author.

It Always Snows by the 24th by Selendred had me hooked even though it's a oneshot. Great au and would love to see it explored more.

No One said I Wish by SylWritesStuff. One of my fav stories from the Sonic Platonic Fairytale Week event. It's really funny.

The Sonic Project by SconnieSA. Rated M but it's a pretty awesome AU and the rating is due to more serious themes and uncensored language in some parts. Highly recommending this one

Survivor's Resolve by DC111. Not entirely an AU but I must rec this fic it's so good and doea havs some AU vibes.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Attorney of Law by thedraconicwerewolf. Ace Attorney type AU with Sonic and Tails as main characters. Not too adventurous but very very fun and interesting and still managed to keep Sonic in character. Though it has a sequel started, I only rec the main story, not the sequal as it seems to be abandoned and isn't needed to be read like them cliffhanger stories.

beLIEve by Meow21. I have only read snippets from this, waiting for this story to continue but it seems to be discontinued. Felt like an epic story too and deserves to be recommended.

Sonic and the Golden Journey. Sonic gets thrown in another storybook, this time it's a children's classic fairytale. Short but very comedic and fun. Go read it.

Tales of a Samurai. I am begging you to read this one, please it's so good. Also by Taranea.

Wonderful and it's sequal Sanctuary by Inflamore for some Unbreakable Bond angst. (Kindly ignore the obliviousness of earlier ff.net for not knowing the meaning of certain symbols, there's nothing of the sort in story, trust me.)

Regrets by MazzyBooks. A high school au of sorts. Sonic centric with some heavy angst. I'm not kidding about the angst part, trust me. It had me hooked from the first chapter though and I believe it deserves a rec.

You need the cracks (to let the light shine through) by king.needlemouse. Istg this is the most underrated thing I've ever come across, it's one of my absolute favorite fics which I can never forget. Do read it.

Within this Nightmare by sonicfan1990. Sonic get transported to an alternate universe which has gone post apocalyptic and his counterpart in that universe has been dead. Pretty great story, lots of angst and everything.

He met Y/n by accident. He was injured and alone in an alleyway, his torso held a bullet wound as he coughed up blood. It was pouring that night and Leon was on patrol when he found the man, slumped against the wall as he quickly helped him. Leon had no idea that the man he was helping was Raccoon City’s most feared mafia man. The leader of the brotherhood who caused trouble for the city but kept his work clean and hidden.

He had bandaged him up and carried him back to his place due to his patrol shift being over and living close to the area. He provided him a place to rest for the night until the next morning, Y/n was a lot better. He looked healthier and the bleeding had stopped, Leon had wanted to ask for his name or help him return home only for his apartment to be stormed in by men with guns out and pointed at him.

Y/n had stopped his own men from shooting his helper and demanding them to lower their guns. It only took Leon a few minutes to figure out who the man is, putting the pieces together Only to find out that the man sitting in his apartment was the most wanted man. Leon was in shock to even move or say anything as Y/n collected his things, thanked him and left with his men.

Leon didn’t hear from him again until two months later. He meets Y/n on accident again, bumping into him when arriving to the towns bar to get a drink due to the stressful day that he had and in hopes of finally relaxing only to find out that Y/n’s owned the bar and that he too, was relaxing on the same day as him.

Y/n knew not to mess with the RPD, but couldn’t help himself to approach the young officer and Introduce himself properly. He gives him his name and offers to buy him a drink which Leon kindly rejects until the other pushed on, convincing Leon to accept the offer as the two sat side by side at the bar.

Drinks in hand as the weather outside grew cloudy and rain began to pour. Leon knew how to control his alcohol, but due to todays stressful day he ended up drinking more than what he was suppose too. His tipsy self had automatically opened up to the Mafia leader, telling him about his past and the fact that his parents were murdered and that he was on his own. Telling him that his parents killer was never captured and how the police gave up on his investigation. He grew up wanting to be an officer of the law in order to help people.

Y/n felt sympathy for Leon, smiling sadly at the man as he removes the drink from his hands and replaces it with a glass of water. Leon was in pain and still grieved for his family along with blaming himself on the death of two cops that he befriended on his first day only to loose them that same week. It was during a shoot out that he lost his friends, causing his stomach to twist and fill with guilt.

After that he stopped asking for partners and rejected them, too afraid to lose another.

Y/n watched Leon spill his feelings and thoughts to him. Too drunk to probably remember the events tomorrow as he rambled away, getting the other man’s attention who listened closely. It wasn’t until the clock stroke midnight that Y/n helped Leon get back home, offering him a ride and driving in the silent car as the officer next to him leaned his head against the window.

Upon arriving to Leon’s apartment he’d help him inside and gently lie him down in bed. He’d also remove his gear and make sure that he’s comfortable. Before he passed out, Y/n had leaned down to whisper soft encouraging words to him, praising him for his hard work and reassuring him that the death of his partners wasn’t his fault.

Leon had already fallen asleep, giving the other man a glimpse of his vulnerability. After that night when Y/n returned back to his own home he couldn’t help but think about the young officer who had helped him and let him know about his past. The expression that Leon did when talking about his family and friends caused him to grow protective and perhaps a hint of possessiveness that the cop riled out of him.

The next few weeks end up with Leon receiving special intel from an anonymous user who gave him locations of drug labs along with criminals full names and background. He didn’t know what to think about and figured it was fake until he presented it to his director who looked into it and sent a team out to investigate while Leon was stuck behind a desk.

Imagine there surprise when the intel they received was true, bringing in multiple criminals with various evidence of their activity. Leon had given the file of evidence that sat on his desk a glance, eyes narrowed as he clearly knew who it came from. He didn’t tell anyone when he made his way to the bar, keeping his uniform hidden and entering the place. His eyes scanning the room until they land on Y/n who casually drank a glass of whiskey with his other comrades.

Without hesitation Leon had tossed the file on to the table towards him, getting Y/n’s attention.

Y/n eyes the file and sets his glass down.

“It was you, wasn’t it?” Leon asks while Y/n flipped through the file, turning to his men and clearing his throat. “Why don’t we discuss this somewhere else?” He collects the papers and comes to a stand, glass in hand as he drinks the last amount of alcohol before making his way towards the back where Leon followed.

“I’ll be in a meeting, make sure no one disturbs has.” Y/n had told two guards who stood at the entrance of his office door as they both nod in understanding.

When entering the office the minute the door closed behind him, Leon is quick to hold his gun out. Aiming his weapon at Y/n who leaned back against his desk, showing no signs of fear.

“Why give me this?” Leon asks, nodding towards the file in Y/n’s hand.

“I simply wanted to help.”

“Bullshit, the mafia doesn’t give a shit about this city.”

Y/n frowns. “This one does.” He tossed the file on his desk.

“What do you think I do here, Leon?” Y/n’s voice is full of venom as he pushed himself away from the desk, taking small steps forward and approaching Leon who takes hesitant steps back.

“I know that your a criminal and that you've killed many people. I know that you launder money and don’t care about the law.” Leon’s hand grips tight around his gun, heart racing as the other takes another step forward.

“I’m cleaning up the streets, I’m doing what your people can’t.” Y/n began to explain. “I’m making this place better by putting the bad people down and protecting those who need it.” He lifts his hand, fingers gently wrapping around the gun as his face softens. “I’m protecting people from experiencing a tragic death—just how you lost your parents.”

His words cause Leon to freeze in place.

“Do you really want people like that roaming freely?” Y/n lowers his gun, fingers moving up the gun and to Leon’s wrist where he pries the gun away from his hand. “I looked into your parents—I know that your upset because the man who killed your parents is roaming freely and continuing on his work. I know that the man who did it has killed more families after yours and faced no consequences because he was never captured.”

Leon gasps, feeling the others fingers grip his chin and facing him. “I can change that. Let me change that.” Y/n’s voice is soft and seductive. “Let me help you.” Leon can feel his warm breath against his face, the others eyes darting down to his lips before looking him in the eyes again.

Leon should be pushing back, pulling away from the man in-front of him only to cave in to his seductive words as the other swoops down to capture his lips in a deep kiss, catching Leon by surprise as he feels his warm tongue caress his lips open. Y/n’s hands are on his torso, pulling him closer, their chests pressed up against each other.

One minute, Leon is kissing the cities most wanted man and the next he’s bent over his desk while Y/n fucked him from behind, hands on either side of his head as he whispered praising words.

Leon is startled by Y/n’s presence, upon entering his own apartment that Y/n had tried to convince Leon to sell and move in with him but the young officer had grown attached to his new home awhile back. Y/n knew that he couldn’t argue with Leon and allowed him to keep the apartment.

“What are you doing here?” Leon is quick to asks, eyeing the man up and down and taking in his appearance. He wore an all black suit, hair brushed in a proper way as he sat in his living room couch.

Y/n sighs softly and comes to a stand. “I’ve come to let you know that I am to be heading out on a business trip to France.”

“France?”

Y/n nods.

“What exactly is it? If you don’t mind me asking.” Leon questions, removing his shoes by the doorway and setting them aside before moving to his vest.

“I found out that my little brother has gotten himself into some trouble and must go to clean up his mess.” Y/n had rolled his eyes at the thought of his little brother causing a mess back in France, perhaps getting himself killed in the process which wouldn’t surprise Y/n by a lot. His brother was known to cause trouble, he was in charge of an assassins organization and wouldn’t be too worried if he found him dead due to him double crossing people on deals.

Instead he focused his attention on Leon, giving him a faint smile. “I’ll be back sometime next month.”

“A month?” Leon stumbled in his step, removing his pants as Y/n steps forward to keep him up right and chuckling. “Yes, my love. This business can end up taking some time and I want to spend as much time as I can with you.” He whispered his last few words, lips pressing up against his cheek and trialing down to his jaw.

Leon shudders under his touch, leaning into him as he sighs deeply against his neck.

The teen’s hair is glowing in the setting sun and his thoughtful gaze looks like a mix of… Of Rebecca’s look when reading philosophy books and Adam’s when his son had encountered something bewildering. 

Remy’s hair is the color that his son’s once had been. His face the shape of his dear late wife’s. He had held somewhat similar thoughts in his first encounters with the mutant but had been able to shrug it off. 

Now… 

Not so much. Remy had grown to look so much more like the two that had inspired his journey into human genetics.

Remy looks pale. Sickly. 

“You need to eat more protein to allow the blood to continue to replentish for sucessful testing.”

Essex comments.

“Mmph. Meat don't go on sale often monsieur. And coupons are non-existant for it.”

Essex stands and walks over to Remy. He begins taking out the needle and wipes the skin while the teen winces.

“Then we’ll just have to fix that, won't we?”

“If’n you trying to fix my meals, you gonna have to feed that whole house. I do the cookin’ and I ain't makin’ two sets of meals.”

Remy huffs out, flexing his fingers as Essex pushes a cotton ball onto the wound and tapes it into place. 

“Then that's what I’ll do. It would not do for the next generation of mutants to grow up malnourished. And… unkempt.”

He touches Remy’s slightly greasy hair and Remy scowls at him and jerks back.

“Not my fault the water stopped workin’ two days back. And no plumber gonna work for the amount I got tucked away. I'll get someone next week after runnin’ a job.”

Essex starts clearing up the blood bag and ceilings everything up. 

“You getting arrested would do me no good. No. I’ll have a plumber come.”

“I don't take favors from you.”

Remy snarls.

“Take it as payment then. For services rendered.”

Essex places the blood in the cooler. 

“Makes it sound gross. I’m doin’ this so you keep your mitts off the other-”

Remy makes a noise and falls. Essex catches him telekinetically. 

“Careful now.”

He gets a scowl.

“Let go. I woulda caught myself.”

“Yes yes, proud master thief. Now, think of the food and plumber as payments for the psych examinations. The willing blood draws will keep your… friends from my scalpels and needles.”

Remy rolls his eyes as Essex lifts him up and sits him down on the desk. The thief settles as Essex moves to grab some food to make sure the teen does not fall once he leaves the room. 

“Fine. I'll take it. Mais, it better be enough for feedin’ four teenage boys.”

The teen hums and Essex can see him running calculations in his head. The kid is delightfully clever with numbers.

“Here.”

He passes over food and a card. Remy narrows his eyes at the card.

“It has a weekly limit of $1000. Should be enough to feed a crowd of teens.”

Remy makes a noise.

“You're crazy.”

Remy snorts, tucking the card away. Essex smiles.

“You say the kindest things.”

“Oui.”

Remy bites into the peanut butter crackers and hums lightly. Essex flicks his fingers and all of Remy’s things tick themselves away.

Basic Starting Info:

• Sun (from the original SAMS dimension) is the main target of Nexus and his little group for his Wither Shard abilities. Gains group is trying to protect him (maybe less protect to some of them, make Nexus lose out of spite or pettiness)

• Antumbra and Nexus revive Apollo, immediately infused with Negative Star Power thanks to both being rebuilt in Soltices dimension

• Antumbra, Soleil, Nexus, Equinox(?) Have their own group. Gaia, Cosmos, Erythros and Sanguine, Deimos, Blackout and Grimm have their own group against Nexus

• Antumbra turned when he decided to leave with Nexus

• “I’m Not Me” and “A Familiar Safe Haven” are canon to the au as well as any future fics written for the au (may have a few exceptions, will try to remember to label what is or isn’t canon, “Rekindling With A Spark” and “What Do You Think Of Me Now?” are not canon to the AU)

Origins/Backstories:

• Starts with Solar leaving with Nexus, taking the shards Moon and Sun had found with them. The shards (one of which was given to Solar to help him withstand and absorb and use the new dimension’s NSP/Dark Star Energy- he wears the crystal fixed into the back of one of his work gloves, Nexus has his in the fur of the tip of his hat). Following his leave Solar changed his name to Antumbra and rebuilt his Sun, now named Apollo. Eventually Antumbra tried reviving his Moon, now named Deimos, as well but something went wrong (Nexus figured Deimos somehow regained/retained his memories of Solar and that he hated him- even Apollo couldn’t convince him to stay) so he left and eventually joined Gaia and Cosmos.

• Gaia leaves when her system overrides and takes her to her father with star power she absorbed mostly from being around Lunar, a majority of it built up from the barely missed attack from Nexus. When she returned to him, however, she was able to harness her energy and kill the Creator, leaving everything behind afterwards.

• Lunar was next due to his encounter with rez. Due to having positive star power throughout his body it took a little longer than expected for them to be infected. When it did finally take hold, he behaved differently. When Gemini heard of this they went to investigate, and Lunar tried to kill them. This caused them to lock Lunar in a special compound that was incredibly if not impossibly hard to break out of. They were working with Taurus and Libra to try and find a cure for Lunar when Gaia came along to break him out and take him with her.

• Erythros went rogue after Stitchwraith was killed, leaving corpses in their wake yet no trace of where they were heading, only where they’d been. When Frank separated them and they discovered and started using star power their murdering doubled. It all came to a head when Stitchwraiths spirit came along to complete unfinished business, one last act of spite and vengeance. Sanguine (V1 Bloodmoon) tried to attack and failed,denial he just accepted it as his twin being back where he belongs in his head. Gaia eventually found them, and despite their previous encounters Gaia allowed them to stay as their group. They accepted, but only because they would be able to still be on their own when they weren’t playing guard dog to anyone.

• Eclipse, at first, didn’t go, trying to find a way to bring Earth back to their side. However he caved easily when she came to him and offered him star power again, offered to help him properly harness it this time. Thanks to his previous and current use and exposure to star power and negative energy, it caused his body to mutate in a more drastic way than just his eyes or lines on his body- his legs changed to furry hooves, he grew a second set of arms, as well as a tail and horns curving along his head between his rays.

• Grimm was restored by Deimos, breaking him from his previous life as a goody two shoes, reactivating the killer in him. His knowledge of star power made it fairly easy for him to grasp and use it for himself. Most of his time is spent with Erythros, Blackout, Deimos, Soleil, and Cosmos. He’s also become rather protective of Gaia (he spends time with her, almost taking a fatherly role for her, Erythros and Blackout)

Weapons/Abilities/Roles

• Soleil uses magic infused star power, tends to hang in the back lines making plans, uses a magic enhanced scythe.

• Deimos does some dirty work hunting with the others, hangs back sometimes with Soleil making plans or working on tech, uses a magic and negative star power infused Warhammer (Shao Khan style).

• Blackout works closely with Gaia and Cosmos, acting as a sort of general, giving orders and going out to hunt or work plans with Soleil and Deimos, uses a negative star power infused sword.

• Gaia is the main leader of the group with Cosmos and Grimm, top in command of their “family”(in the same way mafia members will call each other a family despite having no relation), still somehow the nicest of the bunch, uses a magic infused crossbow.

• Cosmos is the second in command to Gaia,

her right hand man, he’s a bit iffy working with Blackout and Erythros but can work with them if needed. Uses star power and a magic infused battle axe.

• Erythros is like a lone officer and bodyguard/feral guard dogunless he has to work with others. Closest to Grimm and Cosmos, uses Star Power and enhanced claw braces.

• Grimm tends to stalk and hunt but not kill unless ordered to, plays guard dog with Erythros, uses an enhanced scythe.

• Antumbra hangs back doing mechanic and repair work, stays with Nexus and Apollo most of the time, uses a star power infused mini laser cannon (mounted in his arm)

• Apollo stays with Antumbra most of the time, helps make plans or carry out some repair work, uses a simple pair daggers and pistols.

Random Tidbits/Facts/Miscellaneous Notes

• Old Moon (Astrophel) DOES NOT EXIST

• Soleil went rogue due to his exposure, use and encounters with the Wither Shards, Star Power, and Solstices’ Dragon which he had a strange connection to.

• Psychological, mental or emotional distress can and will make it easier for the Negative Star Power/Wither Shard Energy to infect/take over easier.

• When Apollo, Soleil, or even Antumbra, Solstice or Blackout get overly anxious or shaking they clench their fists together as tight as possible to stop or lessen the trembling. Deimos and Nexus have been able to pick up on this (Blackout will deny it till the day he permanently dies; this habit is also common across every dimensional Sun or Eclips3, though some deny it under “I don’t ever get anxious/scared”)

• Another habit across Suns and Eclipses is when they get too or highly distressed (such as a panic/anxiety attack) they grab and pull their rays like hair. They can and have managed to break or crack their rays doing this due to their robot grip strength (or if they have it) occasionally let off small but powerful bursts of magic thanks to their less stable mental or emotional state.

• Both Suns, Moons, Eclipses, and Lunar have a tendency to dance out emotions (Soleil and Apollo dance out sadness and anger (in that order), Nexus and Blackout anger, Lunar frustration, and Deimos dances out everything that isn't some form of happiness or satisfaction). Soleil will dance with his partners if he isn't feeling too low, will dance alone if he’s too low, Apollo will dance with Nexus or Solar, Lunar with Gaia, Nexus either alone or with Solar, Blackout by himself (he will heavily deny ever dancing at all for any reason but especially to regulate his emotions), Antumbra dances alone or with Nexus, Deimos will dance alone or with Soleil or Grimm

A Familiar Safe Space (Twisted Brotherhood AU ft. Nexus and Solar)

"Will it stop? If I go with you?" The celestial animatronic asked, his voice low and tired as he looked up at the taller, Lunar animatronic, his black and orange eyes meeting purple and red. Well maybe "lunar" wasn't the right word anymore. He looked more like a mad scientist, complete with goggles hanging around his neck, the same pair Solar owned before he died. Nexus shrugged then nodded a little.

"Sort of? The voices and hallucinations won't ever really stop but there's enough to distract from those things, for a while anyway."

For the last few months Solar had been hearing and seeing things, but any time anyone asked himhe'd say he was fine. He couldn't even bring himself to tell Earth everything. But this...while he didn't doubt her ability to handle heavy stuff, he didn't want to worry Earth with ALL of his problems.

A light chuckle left his lips as he realized how Ironic this was. From what he'd heard of Nexus doing Solar was doing the same things he did- hiding or lying about how he felt, bottling up emotions or even forcing himself to work on projects until he was well under 50% charge, and Jack or Earth would drag him to bed to rest. All of this certainly wasn't helped by the part of his own code that was made and intertwined with Eclipses', a familiar yet strange itch to constantly prove himself itching under his skin, insecurity and inferiority buzzing through his circuits.

He glanced up, and for a moment he stared behind Nexus, seeing Sun. But not this dimensions Sun, no.

Sunny. His own original Sun.

Sunny stood behind Nexus, silently shaking his head as if he knew what Solar was thinking. Maybe he did, even in death Sunny always seemed to know no matter what.

Then he heard a voice, raspy and familiar near his ear.

His Moon, Moonbeam.

Moonbeam was whispering to him over his shoulder.

'You should do it.'

'Go with him, Eclipse.'

'You've already lied to your family, hidden things. The same things he experienced and they think he's crazy. What will they think of you?'

'Why not say fuck it, be an Eclipse. Sooner or later you all fall to madness no matter what. And you'd be with your best friend again, too. You know I'm right.'

Again, he saw Sunny shaking his head and even mouthed 'please, don't do it Eclipse...'

Solar shook his head and covered his ears, fingers moving up to grab and lightly pull his rays, only for a moment before he felt hands gently grab his wrists and pull his hands away from his head. His eyes rose to meet purple and red, something like concern etched on his face.

"Solar? You with me?"

Solar took a few deep breaths, closed his eyes, and nodded.

"Yeah, I...I'm solid, Moon."

Nexus smiled a bit. Solar was the only one he'd ever allow to call him 'Moon' again. No one else had that privilege.

"Good. So, Solar? Do you have an answer?"

The Eclipse looked at him, then away, then closed his eyes and took a breath.

"Yes."

Moon looked at him, a wider grin forming on his face and a hint of eagerness and excitement in his voice. "Really? Even though you'd be leaving Earth? Jack?"

A twinge of guilt settled in his core at that thought, feeling a bit bad since they went through so much to have him back, but if Moon couldn't be here, neither could he.

"I'm sure."

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sunny shake and lower his head and vanish, Moonbeam taking his place with a sharp grin, but he said nothing.

"I'll meet you outside then, if you need to take anything." Nexus said as he stood and handed him a small box before he teleported away.

Solar took the box and teleported to Moon's lab. At a counter he felt for a switch underneath, pressing when he found it, which opened an adjacent panel. Inside were five purple crystals crackling with energy. Putting them in the box he went home to get ready.

Solar sighed as he returned home, tucking the box and his blueprints and notebooks into a bag. He left his toolbox and clothes behind. He'd get new ones in his new home later. He left a note on the bed.

'Sun.

I'm sorry but I left. I don't think I can stay here without Moon. I'm alive but I just can't stay without him. Please tell Earth, Jack, the others that I'm sorry. Sorry for leaving, sorry for lying and hiding everything, sorry I didn't say goodbye this time. Please, don't look for me this time. I love you guys, all of you.

With that, he shut off the lights, closed the door, and made his way outside, joining Nexus at a portal. With one look back, he entered through with him.

Yeah, it hurt to leave his family again. But he'd rather have just Moon and no one else than everyone but Moon. After all, Moon was something extra special to him. Moon was safety, warmth. His own little safe space.

Just imagining, in a world where Wukogn wasn't immediately trapped in the scroll of memory after Azure freed the rest of the Brotherhood, he'd have some things to say. I'm thinking TMKATI au post Wu is Wikong reveal

Wu: MK... who helped you get me out of there?

MK: Oh, this only friend of yours. Called himself the Azure Lion?

Wu, immediately going pale as a ghost: Azure Lion!? MK, please tell me you didn't listen to him or make any deals!

Pigsy: What? Why would it be such a big deal? He's your friend isn't he?

Wu: Azure is anything but a friend! He's the reason I was trapped on the Furnace and under the Mountain to begin with, him and his rebellion!

Tang: Uh, what? But all the stories say it was because of the Havoc you caused!

Wu: The Peach Festival I crashed and ruined was hardly important enough for Heaven to do what they did to me, even with the pills and immortal peaches and wine I had stolen. It was just the catalyst. I was still a cub back then, a stupid, reckless cub who was impressionable enough to trust the wrong person. And then Azure had left me to take the fall for the rebellion he had started! Whatever you do, don't trust Azure!

Tang, taking in the implications: ...I'll kill him.

+Bonus:

Even if Azure did not realise it himself, he had built Wukong up in his mind to be the matyr of the Rebellion. And when Wukong surrendered, rather than die for it, Azure became convinced it was a great betrayal.

There's even hints of Macaque recognising/suspecting this sort of manipulation all the way back during their carefree Brotherhood days. There's a split second in "New Adventures" just after Azure convinces the others to make Wukong the leader of the rebellion, when Macaque is clearly unhappy/thinking about the situation. The only reason he doesn't speak out then and there is because Wukong seemed so sure of it. We see a similar look again just before they head out on their first attack.

And of course there's the memory Tang wanders into in "Court of the Yellow Robed Demon" thats very telling;

Peng: "Wukong is a traitor! He'll end us the first chance he gets!" Yellowtusk: "Yes. The Stone Monkey is unpredictable. Now he's thrown his lot in with the Celestial Host, there's no telling where his true allegiances lie." Peng: "You're characteristically quiet, Macaque!" Macaque: "I just think we should consider all our options before we—" Peng: "What's to consider? Wukong's made his choice. I say we strike him down now while we have the chance!"

The Trio are discussing attacking Wukong for aligning himself with "the Celestial Host" [i.e helping Tripitaka on the Journey so he can do parole] - the memory taking place within Camel Ridge.

Macaque's reaction brings up a super interesting twist to the story told in JTTW. Was the whole plan of disguising himself as Wukong and taking the scriptures not his own? Did the other three or an unknown villain working in the background insist he do so? Did he do it to stall Wukong so that his best friend/mate did not fall into a trap from the rest of the Brotherhood? Did Macaque die trying to give Wukong another option less the Monkey King risk being captured or worse at the hands of his former sworn brothers?

Macaque recognised that *something* was super wrong in how the Brotherhood treated Wukong, especially how Azure directed the situation. But being the same, barely-a-cub, age Wukong was at the time, Macaque wasn't sure/confident enough to speak out about it.

And ofc this whole thing with the Brotherhood would come to a boil in the TMKATI au when Macaque and Wukong are having their Big Fight.

Wukong/Wu had long since recognised that Azure was grooming/manipulating him for the fall, but isn't sure why he tried attacking him afterwards. Macaque is a bit proud in a "I told you so"-way and says that Azure had expected Wukong to *die* in the war as a matyr rather than live as a prisoner.

Wukong: "Why didn't you say anything!?" Macaque: "I was as young and stupid as you were! I only wanted to see you happy!" Wukong: "Oh yeah! Like you did when you left me under that mountain!" Macaque: "You weren't exactly grateful for the company at the time." Wukong: "Uh, need I remind you that before I was imprisoned, I had just spent 49 days being broiled alive!? I wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders. You could have atleast tried to visit me after a few years!" Macaque, uncharastically quiet: "I wanted to..." Wukong: "Huh?" Macaque: (*goes silent and leaves the room*) Wukong: "Wait! Mihou! What do you mean "you wanted" to!?"

note: Tang is accidentally privy to this convo cus he was in the stairwell when it started and got nosey. Then he kinda gets kidnapped by a baby bull demon before he can ramble his discovery to Pigsy and/or Sandy.

Wu gives the clipnote version of events to the gang as he's trying The Big Stupid, and they are horrified. The Monkey King, one of the most infamous tricksters in folkore, was ultimately a groomed teenager at the time of his punishment! And the Macaque was in the same boat, just more cautious...

When things are said and done - Wukong and Macaque go out of their way to tell their kids to always be wary of powerful people who put you on a pedestal. Perhaps not delving into their personal history (they are Normal Demon Parents™ afterall), but using the story of the Monkey King and his Brotherhood as an aesop. The Monkey King had many friends who thought he should lead them, but they shrunk away for whatever reasons when he chose to live and not die in heaven.

MK thinks its the saddest "superhero backstory" ever.

So when S4 of TMKATI comes about and the memory curse gets loose...

Azure Lion: "Ah, Monkie Kid-" MK:

Legit the only reason Azure is able to get away unscathed is because he's the only one who knows how the Scroll works and MK and the rest of the babus want their parents back.

Red Son is on standby (fire ready) outside the Scroll in case Azure tries some sh-t. But of course that doesn't last long.

Tang, Pigsy, and Sandy: (*released from the scroll. Sees Azure Lion*) All three: "YOU."

Then again this is all with the idea that someone else was additionally pulling the strings to ensure the demons downfall...

Assassin’s Creed x Transformers

TF One is popping off (deserved) and I need to get this idea out there.

Desmond Miles, our dearest assassin and sacrifice, reborn on Cybertron as a transformer. Primus himself went “yes, this one” and who am I to deny robo-god?

We have a few options to choose from here:

1. Desmond is forged well before the war, sees the injustice of the caste system, and maybe starts helping out via community (brotherhood optional, oh who am I kidding, let the man bring back his people, Primus or something might be willing to help with that) then the war starts and he either joins the Autobots or remains neutral and maybe starts his own faction. When they get to Earth he helps the transformers get better at hiding because damn being a giant robot on a planet full of squishy organics is hard. But these were his people at one point, so hey, he’s got this.

2. Same as 1, but the ancestors join the party. They are their own type of cybertronian built for assassinations and espionage, very smol, but very deadly. We got specialized scanners designed to function like Eagle Vision, built in hidden blades, and bird drone alt modes. Cue the war and so on. Whether they are able to kill Megatron or not is up to you. Idk how that’ll go, tho. I think they might like Optimus, he’s a great leader and much more compassionate than past leaders they’ve known (and killed).

3. Post war! Desmond is forged soon after the war started (think: Sparkling! Bumblebee fics) and is taken in by the Autobots, where he meets Optimus and goes “oh, he’s a good one, okay then” and just rolls with it. Maybe he trains as a scout alongside Bumblebee if ya want (he’s my favorite if you can’t tell). Famously zen Desmond, good friend and maybe, just maybe, still a bit traumatized. Who knew. Bee is the best bean and talks to Des about it. They talk a lot. (Optional: Bumblebee gets his voice box ripped out and Des is not very happy about it, just a tad bit stabby, if you will) earth shenanigans, pick the earthling they meet, or maybe add other crossovers if you want, or make your own. Or, plot twist, reincarnated ancestors. Get that modern day au in there. You’re welcome.

4. Pick a transformers series and shove Desmond into the plot. You know what I mean. 😌

(Would Desmond tell someone about his past? I mean cybertronians live for millions of years… a lot of them have done heinous things. I think they’d be okay with it.)

Well, these are what I got so far. I’m not a huge transformers buff, so take whatever ideas you have and throw it at Desmond, you have my blessing. He’ll be fiiiine.
