There are so many great things about the episode “Put it Down”, establishing Tweek and Craig as a legitimate couple (in a cute, elementary school way) by having Craig use pet names like “Babe” and “Honey” for Tweek when no one else is around. Craig trying his hardest to get Tweek to calm down by trying to rationalise the problem away/distract him from the issue at hand, then realising that is not what he needs and going back to help him talk through his feelings even after they had an argument. Tweek having a moment of calm when he realises what Craig is doing, smiling at him sweetly and stops shaking, finally relaxed because of Craig. Hand holding, doing musical duet together, Craig’s introducing Tweek to fidget spinners to help calm his mind and anxious jitters. It’s all sweet and lovely, but my absolute favourite part of the episode is when Tweek wakes up early in the morning, walks to Craig’s house, is let inside and up the stairs by Craig’s parents and then storming into his room and waking up up with a scream. Craig wakes up and is completely relaxed after his initial shock because he knows who it is, replying with a “Hey Tweek” meaning this isn’t the first time it’s happened. He knows who it is, and he doesn’t mind because he knows he needs him. It was a great way to establish who they are as a couple and how far they’ve come from their initial episode, because you see how comfortable they are with each other, being able to hold hands, call each other nicknames and go over to each others houses easily. There is also no pressure on them being a “gay couple”, from the show or from their friends. They just are, and it’s sweet.
