Creek is the puppy love, the innocence of a first relationship. It’s the holding hands on the playground and getting pretend married. It’s the sharing your first kiss together and talking about whatever as you swing on the swingset.

Teenage creek is the rebellion, the passion and excitement of spending your glory days with the one you care for most. The throwing rocks at each other’s windows and sneaking into R rated movies together. It’s the kisses by the lockers before class and the exasperation as your parents take non-stop pictures of you two together before prom.

Adult creek is the moving forward, the building your lives together and relinquishing the expectations people have for you. It’s the exchanging wedding vows and laughing at corny movies together on the couch of your first apartment. It’s the planning your futures and your lives together from then on.

Post Covid creek is the closure. It’s the cuddling in bed together and kissing each other goodbye before work. It’s the morning breath and the back aches as you realize “we’re getting old”. It’s the eating dinner together as you stare across the table at the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with and realize that, you wouldn’t have it any other way.
