Do you play D&D at all? and if you do what is your favorite class to play as?

i do! i've only ever played as two classes, paladin and rogue, so those are my two options to choose a fav from lol - but i like playing as a paladin a lot! rogue is fun (especially when you can stack all those sneak attacks up), but i like playing tanky support builds the most.

my current (and oldest) dnd character is named Gorb, he's a dragonborn paladin who is dumb as bricks and honest to a fault. he also has a +13 to the Bug Holding skill.

i have some art of him that's been in my drafts for a while i should post.. i love him dearly. my famous lizard <3

Sauron is, in my opinion, the most human of the Ainur.

I like to imagine the Ainur as originally being much more otherworldly. This makes sense given their entire existence predates the world itself. Why would a primordial being look, act, feel like humans do when humans do not even exist yet? When the Ainur first appeared and first clothed themselves in physical forms, they did not just look like men or elves. However, when their appearances terrified the newly-awakened elves, many of them would settle into forms more mundane, including Sauron himself.

But what sets Sauron apart from his kin is his integration into the societies of men. He's not only adjusted his appearance, but also his personality and power to accommodate being around men. He has tempered both to ensure he does not incinerate his most loyal servants whenever his anger bubbles to the surface. By surrounding himself with men, he has both consciously and unconsciously mirrored them in a way no other Ainur has before, nor would until the arrival of the wizards.

There was a word for sun in Primitive Elvish and it meant “flame.”

How did elves at Cuivienen know of the sun? The sun did not even exist yet.

They saw the sun in their foresight.

Yet, what they saw were strange and frightening. In their dream they saw great light and heat, and their eyes and skin burnt in pain. Like how you get burnt by the fire, but much more intense.

They called it “Anar.”

It was not a good thing to dream about that strange burning light.

Those who dreamed of the sun were always children, and they always got lost in the woods, no matter how careful their caretakers were.

An unkind light that took children away.

Later. Much later. When sun reached Middle Earth for the first time.

Some orcs saw the sunrise. It burnt their eyes and burnt their skin. It gave them so much pain.

But they kept staring at the sun, until their eyes were weeping blood.

Then they chased after it tirelessly, day by day, heading to the west. Until they got cut down by elves, or eaten by the wolves.

If they were lucky enough they reached the ocean. Then they looked at the sea and when they saw the sun sank down beneath the water they went into the water too.

The waves hugged them and dragged them down. They forgot they could not breath in water but they forgot the pain too.

Sometimes their spirits were lucky enough to reach the other side.

You see. The sun made people crazy.
