Does anyone know to to retrieve an ask that was deleted in the process of deleting a post? I had a very important ask someone sent me but when I replied I realized there was something else I wanted to add to the reply so I deleted the post in hopes of being able to reply again, now the ask is gone. Is there a way to retrieve this? Thanks

the problem is

instead of standing on my own two feet and saying "this is what I will tumble about hear me roar/rawr" I feel as though I need a week long course on the dos/don'ts/sometimes/best ofs/how tos of tumblr so that I can create a stylish,cool,trendy,witty, and well read tumblr.

However, this clearly is not how one tumbles so here I go venturing off into the realm known as tumbling.

Well, it depends on what you mean, and what you are trying to get from your Tumblr dashboard to Instapaper. *If* the post you are reading in your Dashboard has a link to whatever it is you want to read later: 1. Tap-hold that link to bring up the Open/Copy buttons. 2. Copy the URL. 3. Switch to Instapaper 4. It will recognize that you have a URL on the clipboard, and it will ask you if you want to add that URL to Instapaper. BOOM. > *Aside:* I assume that everyone who uses Instapaper knows that you can email links to yourself to read later. If not, ***surprise!*** You can find your "read later" email address at (be sure to add it to your address book. I created a contact named -- get this -- "Read Later". I know, I am *soooo* creative. But if I ever switch from Instapaper to something else (which seems entirely unlikely), I can just change the email associated with "Read Later" to something else and send it there instead. ## **~ However ~** ## If there is something on your dashboard that is too long to read now but does *not* have a link that you can copy, your options are limited. There is no way, as far as I know, to get the permanent link of a post from your Dashboard in the Tumblr app. > *Aside:* In the regular Dashboard, you can get the "permalink" at the top-right of each post. Move your mouse up there and the corner will "fold" down. You can copy it there. There are only two options that I know of (other than "Don't use the Tumblr iPhone app"): 1. Create a sub-Tumblr for things you want to read-later, and reblog it there. This is quick and easy, but you'll still need a way to get it into Instapaper. 2. If you want to get the URL for a dashboard post, you can, but it's a PITA: * Tap the username of the person who posted whatever you wanted to Read Later. That will fetch the "Blog Info" for that user. * From the "Blog Info" screen, tap on "Posts" to load that user's individual Tumblr * Scroll down their page until you find the post you want to read later. * Tap-hold on the "Time/Date posted" info on the bottom-left of the post, which will bring up the Open/Copy buttons. * Tap 'Copy' * Switch to Instapaper, which will recognize a link on the clipboard
