Tu vois,

I got my first tennis racket on my seventh birthday. And because we had a tennis court in our backyard, I played every day. By ten I was playing competitively. Tullian Tchividjian

Quote
The deepest fear we have, ‘the fear beneath all fears’, is the fear of not measuring up, the fear of judgement. It’s this fear that creates the stress and the depression of everyday life.

Quote
A theology of the cross accepts the difficult thing rather than immediately trying to change it or instrumentalize it. It looks directly into pain, and “calls a thing what it is” instead of calling evil good and good evil. It identifies God as “hidden in [the] suffering

The gospel is for those who realize they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders--those who've figured out they're not gods. It's for people who understand the bankruptcy of life without God. It's for people who recognize that while they're definitely deficient, God is more than sufficient. Jesus came to show us that the gospel explains success in terms of giving, not taking; self-sacrifice, not self-protection; going to the back, not getting to the front. The gospel shows that we win by losing, we triumph through defeat, we achieve power through service, & we become rich by giving ourselves away. In fact, in gospel-centered living we follow Jesus in laying down our lives for those who hate us & hurt us. We spend our lives serving instead of being served, & seeking last place, not first. Gospel-centered people are those who love giving up their place for others, not guarding their place from others--because their value & worth is found in Christ, not their position. ― Tullian Tchividjian / Surprised By Grace: God's Relentless Pursuit Of Rebels
James 2 : 5 Listen, dear friends. Isn’t it clear by now that God operates quite differently? He chose the world’s down-&-out as the kingdom’s first citizens, with full rights & privileges.

Là où il y a un manque
de grâce,
de pardon
et d’empathie,
il y a toujours une posture
de supériorité.
Être gracieux,
indulgent
et empathique
naît du fait de savoir
que vous n’êtes pas meilleur
que n’importe qui d’autre,
que vous avez besoin d’autant de grâce
que la pire personne que vous connaissez.

Billy Graham's Grandson Tullian Tchividjian Says He's 'Haunted' by Day He Told Children about Extramarital Affair
Two years after he lost his church and wife to an adultery scandal, Tullian Tchividjian, the grandson of well-renown evangelist Billy Graham, admitted he's still "haunted" by the fact that he deeply hurt his children with his past transgressions -- even though they have forgiven him.
