Tsuki: As we all know, the milkshake brings the boys to the yard. The presence of the boys is a prerequisite for the cracking open of a cold one, but cold ones do not have any inherent boy- attracting abilities. Milkshakes, however, do. All else being equal, the boys would proceed to the milkshake yard. While it is possible to announce the presence of cold ones in the hope of attracting some boys, the pull of the milkshake is much more powerful by comparison.

Tsuki: Mind you, all of this nonsense hinges on whether or not the boys are back in town.

ok i did the complaint so I’ll write up the cheat sheet.

Way back when manga and anime were first being translated to English, especially by fan translators, a lot of scanners chose to keep in honorifics. Honorifics function a little bit like the Miss/Mrs/Mr/Mx system in english, mixed with an informal/formal ‘You’. Unlike Mr/Ms, where it’s a title that’s consistent, honorifics change based on the speaker’s relationship with the addressee. One person may be addressed with all manner of honorifics, depending on how many different ‘status’ relations they have.

I learned these in like. 2000s/2010s, so if there’s been a recent upheaval in honorific usage in Japan that I don’t know of, that’s my bad, but this is the basics rundown. the way i’m typing may imply a gender binary but that’s just because I don’t know the specifics of what japan does w neutral language and you’ll have to ask someone who knows more.

Because the original examples from the nickname post were bnha, most of these examples are also going to be bnha lol.

-san: this is most similar to how Ms/Mr is used in english. When in doubt with an adult, it’s usually -san. Girls around the speaker’s age group and up are also called -san by default, generally. Kids may also refer to their older relatives with -san, like Oka-san, Onii-san, Oji-san, etc. but usually not the other way around.

-kun: this is usually for young men or between men of the same age-ish. It’s fairly casual and not a hard rule on gender. It isn’t insulting to use for girls, and may imply endearment.

-chan: chan is feminine, but usually just for girls younger than the speaker. It’s kind of a cute honorific (which is why in bnha Tsuyu (san) asks to go by Tsu-chan instead). Again, usually girls around the speaker’s same age would be -san, except in the case of Tsu wanting to be cutesy, or calling your gf -chan. It might be comparable to calling someone ‘honey’ affectionately. This is why Bakugo Katsuki’s nickname being Ka-chan is fucking adorable and bewildering to everyone around Izuku. It’s like running around calling him “Boomy”.

-sama: used like san, but for someone very important. Like god or something. Someone using -sama on themselves (hi papyrus) is being very braggerty. Like putting “The Great” in front of a name.

no honorific: you fam. .... or you being Real rude to people. For example, Kirishima in english calls everyone bro... because he is super informal and just drops honorifics because he is fam. Bakugou doesn’t usually use honorifics because he doesn’t care to be polite. Some of that rudeness is translated into the nicknames he uses all the time. It’s kind of like referring to your boss by their first name. It could be friendly, or you are on your last fuck.

-sensei: this is a job-based title, and is roughly equivalent to ‘teacher,’ but it is in general for someone who has a certain skillset that the speaker benefit(ed) from, like a doctor, lawyer, etc. In higher ed, it ‘Hakase’ may be used instead of sensei. Again, not everyone will call a teacher sensei-- Aizawa’s students call him Aizawa-sensei, but because Yagi is not a student, he uses Aizawa-kun, because Aizawa is a jr in the hero world.

So those are like....fairly common honorifics. There are others and other levels of them. They can be used to form nicknames as well. For example, the only way to make Ka-chan even more cutesy might be to make it Ka-tan, which is a babytalk version of -chan.

Honorifics also make it easier to tell the difference between siblings since last names are usually used by default. I was reading a fic where there was a brother-sister thing in the same class, and the running joke was someone would say their last name and they would both respond. It... would probably not happen that way, because between -san, -kun, and -chan, there were three ways to distinguish between them. Since it was a boy-girl duo I’d guess they’d use girl-san and boy-kun, or if one was slightly older than the other that one may get -san, etc. Fuck man, maybe they’d just uses -shonen and -shojo to differentiate them (as All Might calls Midoriya-shonen-- translated as “Midoriya my boy!” usually.)

This is a long post to beg people to consider the function in linguistic jokes. You don’t need to like. KNOW japanese and understand all the puns and whatever-- and I am goddamn begging you we not bring back bad honorific desu ne in fanfic-- but sometimes the jokes jarr enough with just having the setting in Japan that like. I keep reading. But I am also kept up at night staring at the ceiling, unable to forget.

Gem- He is a brown/black person with a long green hair, using a pink flower crown, jeans, a white shirt with peace symbol in it, and brown boots. He has a darker shade of red/brownish eye. (he likes walking naked around tho)

Jazz- She has brown braided hair, uses a black shirt and jeans, with lil golden shoes, her eyes are brown/yellow and she has a tail and ears, she is a werewolf im p sure.

Red (previously Tsuki) She looks like me actually? she uses a gardener suit and gray shirt, using red headphones in her red hair, but have blue eyes. She is kinda of Jazz sibiling on her original? oh she also use lil golden shoes.

Annie- Have whitehair and dresses as a anime girl idk, white shirt with a red necktie and black skirt.She has a thing that hold her socks up? and lil black shoes. She has red eyes.

Shuu- Tall guy, with blond hair, green eyes, he use kinda of a brown suit? has a lil green bow tie and a caffee uniform thing? black pants and social black shoes.

Akira-Black haired guy with black shirt but with reddish long sleeve shirt under, black cap and pants, red eyes and dark circles under his eyes. He and Shuu are brothers (dont like each other much)

Sad face (fragment) She/they have a HUGE messy blond hair, white long sleeved shirt and black pants, dont use any shoes and most if not all the time is using a maskwith a happy face. They are always crying i assure you. She is the tallest of all of us.

Kaito missing Nasaki- Brown long hair, in a ponytail usually, uses a blue long sleeve shirt and band, white pants and black shoes, he has yellow eyes.

And there is Cinza/Radio. She is.. black and white and look a lot like Sad face, but she is always smiling, her sclera is black and she kinda is always bleeding from her face (eyes, mouth,nose etc) she… uses something kinda like sad face but it seems to have a black heart in it

Undertale 6th Anniversary/ Update

Hello everyone!

It's that time of year again!

This took a long time to make and I’m really happy how it all went out. Just for fun, but if you take a screenshot of this it will show you what your soul is filled with. I want to thank @mochursouls for helping me with this.

Aside from that, I have some good news. I got accepted to the art university that I wanted to apply to. Finally I can start my journey to becoming a professional animator. I have so many ideas that I want to show you all. Undertale related or not, I hope to show you all what I am made of.

I’m going to make this short. As a reminder I’m still here, not dead. And UFT will still happen, and also have a couple more AU that I want to show. I’m not going anywhere! Also here are the shoutouts to all the people that inspire me and make me stay determined ; D

Okay, so who here has read @mikoto-tsuki‘s Undertale comic? 

Because I gotta say guys, it’s really good. I cried. 

And also it inspired the thought of an offshoot AU where the universe from that comic doesn’t get reset for whatever reason, and ghost!Chara and ghost!Sans hang out around Frisk and Papyrus respectively, and therefore each other, and antagonize each other ALL THE TIME and hate each other but since Frisk and Papyrus are together so often, they’re forced to hang out and talk about things and work through some stuff and it’s awful but also glorious. 

I would probably call it the GhostJokes AU.

Oh Arceus, I can’t believe it was 100 comic pages!

After a long time, this is the end of Once Again comic. I hope you liked it! It was from beginning to end a great experience for me!

I would like to do more comics later! But I’m still undecided about what, haha. And of course, thank you very much for your support with this particular project!!

A little extra of Once Again comic. (?)

As an anecdote, this was the first "True pacifist ending" I saw.

Together with my brothers, we play Undertale knowing nothing, absolutely nothing of the game previously. Our first ending was an incomplete genocide route (My brothers only wanted to "play" against Sans, because the only thing we did know was how difficult this battle was)

We killed all the bosses, and at the end of the corridor, we only found a sad Sans who almost did not speak to us. No fight and no answers.

We find out how to perform the actual genocide route. Eventually, my brothers defeated Sans.

After I played, I could understand the characters, really understand the story. You will understand my surprise when I saw "this" picture when I finished playing.

I don't know. It was just a vague idea at first, heh. I started "Once Again" because I wanted to amend that "mistake". I wanted to create the ending that I could not access in the actual game. And that's my story, haha.
