Volume 10 Download/Read online: Here
Note: Hi! Good morning!
Autumn is around the corner and the time has come to say goodbye to Hanakoi. It’s sad and I’m going to miss those stupid lovebirds like crazy, nonetheless I kept the group alive to finish their story.
To be honest, I like this ending more than the one from the magazine. It’s more complete and it’s more fulfilling than the previous one. At least for me. I still have high hopes to get a spin-off at some point, hope sensei changes her mind about Tsutamaru and Takeichi…
I’ve added a surprise upload, named as chapter 68.6, to thank you all for these years you’ve watched Sougo&Gen grow up along us. Hope you all like it.
Well, in this farewell I want to thank each and every person who has been part of this scanlation, especially the ones who were part of this last chapters [Codythenoble, Itwearsadress, Jiu and Toshirodragon] and all the ones who have pitched in every time we had a problem and I asked for help, I can’t thank everybody enough for helping me be able to do this project from the beginning to the end, thanks so much. And to Isaku sensei for writing and drawing this amazing story, neven with all the Grandpa’s drama <3
And to all of you, fellow readers, thank you so, so much, I hope you enjoyed this story as much as me. See you soon!!

Hanakoi Tsurane
I like a lot of Natsume Isaku manga, and I had bought the first 6 volumes on kindle during some kind of discount deal a while back, but hadn't actually started reading it properly yet. I started it today (yesterday, I just haven't slept yet) and blew through not only the 6 volumes I had, but the remaining 3 which I bought before I was even done with volume 6.
It's this gorgeous love story about the two high school age successors of their feuding kabuki royalty families. I learned a lot about kabuki reading it, but also the love story is far more interesting and dynamic than it appeared for all of volume one, and at 9 volumes in, it is still ongoing. In addition to a relationship where lack of communication is given just a proportionate amount of angst before being communicated and resolved, with the communication improving as the story goes on, both main characters also have relationships with best friends and family members that are vital to the plot. The story currently spans about 3 years.
I highly highly recommend it. If you want to read it without spoilers, stop here and read it because I'm about to spoil something hinted in vol. 1, which finally starts unfolding in vol. 7.
I guessed in the first volume, seeing the complete difference in how Kikuemon remembers Juichirou versus how the other characters talk about their feud, that they were exes.
And yet the story delivered a far more poignant story by making them be not exes, but partners who were too in love to hide it, but too scared to do anything about it.
The "history repeats itself" trope is so incredibly common in stories, yet somehow, the way this story delivered it did not feel at all cliche or tired.
Part of the beauty is that it's not merely depicted as our protagonists succeeding where their grandfathers failed, but also that Kikuemon/Masaomi, who was the one to reject the possibility of acting on their feelings, is also the one who watches over them. His thoughts are not often made explicit, but when they are, it seems to hint that he kept his past with Juichiro/Akio locked away, and that watching his grandson actually making this thing work with this boy who is the spitting image of Akio at his age, it is dawning on him for the first time that the path he saw as impossible was not quite so impossible as he thought at the time.
I love those little moments with Shuugo and Junpei, who have no idea that Shuugo's grandpa knows they're dating, when Masaomi's words and thoughts are ever so slightly revealing to us, the readers who know the secret that, now that Akio is dead, Masaomi is the only one who knows. The moments that stick out the most to me are Masaomi seeing Akio in Junpei before anyone else and calling Kuma to train him; Masaomi picking up that Shuugo is still dating Junpei after two and a half years, that he's just gotten better at hiding it; the response Masaomi gives to Shuugo when he asks why he stopped performing with Juichiro: "未熟だった" ("[I/we/he] was unripe/young"), which we are told is a marked shift in how he's ever answered that question to anybody else.
The love that Masaomi and Akio never acted on is threaded through the story: Akio's reflections on his partnership with Masaomi on his deathbed are what motivated Junpei to start pursuing Shuugo with as much fervor as he did, and Masaomi's lack of an overt response to the knowledge that his grandson is dating Akio's grandson is itself a stunning revelation, even as he keeps his own internal journey under wraps.
I was so invested in this storyline that when I reached the end of volume 9, I almost had a panic attack before realizing that it said "continues in volume 10" and was not actually over.
I want desperately to see Masaomi tell Shuugo at least what really happened. Or maybe even someone else. And yet at the same time, he has never put words to what was between himself and Akio, not even in his own mind. I wonder if it would actually be a comfort for him to talk about it now, when Akio is gone. Shuugo and Junpei already know they're fighting a fight of optics, and they've learned to be conscious of it that; they've learned to be mindful in their interactions in public; they have friends who validate them, and they don't expect validation from family. The thing that looms over them is the issue of succession of their respective families. And I wonder if the realization that their grandfathers stood at the same intersection as they did and chose succession at the expense of ever being able to share the stage again will help or hinder them. I like to believe it would make them realize that succession isn't everything—because in exchange for the continued bloodlines, they eradicated from the world their performance duo in what the entire kabuki world agrees was a travesty.
I cannot wait to see how this story continues, but in the meantime I am writing fics about the tragedy of Akio and Masaomi. I just hope that, whether or not he finds it in himself to tell anyone about it, Masaomi is able to find his own peace by the end of the story.

1.) Is there a BL that you finished even when :
a. You love the story but not really fond of the art?
b. You love the art but not really fond with the story?
2.) Is there a BL that you really want to see the anime or live action adaptation?
3.)
a. Is there a BL that you dislike at the beginning but when you finish them, it became one of your favorite?
b. What is your fav BL cover?
4.)
a. What is you favorite BL from the 1990s and 2000s?
b. Your fav BL author/artist?
c. What BL that made you cry?
5.)
a. BL you finished that is just bizarre?
b. BL that you think is masterpiece (until now)?
6.)
a. BL that you love only (mostly) because of the sexy scenes?
b. BL that is your guilty pleasure?
Thanks so much....!
helloooo!! oh it was you that sent me over straw page?? it was very fun, thank you!! this one will be awesome as well, excited to answer
01.
a) hmmm this is very hard!! I usually tend to drop when the art isn't to my liking (which I know it's kinda bad...sorry). so none comes to mind 😵‍💫
b) this is easier I think. I really liked the art of semantic error but the story got very meh by the end, which is sad. love song ga utaenai have a beautiful art style, but only 2 chapters so the story is very very rushed. love the art of monotone blue but it didn't hit me as much as it did to other people. amamiya is one of my favs but blueblueblue felt a little flat to me. idk there's a lot!!!
02. oh, MANY!!!! fake fact lips and boku no papa to papa since both are two of my favs. hanakoi tsurane would be amazing, breathless momentum as well. paint love and the colors will bloom would be beautiful!
03.
a) oh hard!!!! idk if I would call favorite but I dropped nerd project at first but tried again later and I'm really liking it so far. therapy game wasn't one that I loved at first but now I'm having a lot of fun with the new chapters. that's hard because I'm so picky with my favorites so idk if I have a favorite that I hated at first
b) SO MANY! cure blood. vol 2 of boku no papa to papa. restart after coming back home have a beautiful cover, it was what made me read it. I find the cover of smoke blue very beautiful. love the latest cherry magic cover that it was released in english, with all of them together. SO MANY! I'm so easy to be attracted to covers asjfoiafjiosaj
04.
a) i think banana fish for sure!
b) i have many! suehiro machi, mamita, amamiya, roji, hayane dentou, natsume isaku, and many more
c) CURE BLOOD CURE BLOOD EVERYONE READ CURE BLOOD ifojasfoijaf but recently I reread ginmokusei no shitateya and got extremely teared eyed when ubuki started to talk about his grandpa
05.
a) hmmmmmm idk. I'm not very much of a bizarre bl reader. maybe shuumatsu, kimi to...? it wasn't bizarre to me but maybe it is to some people.
b) I'm very boring when it comes to scores and things like that since I'm very strict, so masterpieces are hard to me. so idk if people would consider masterpieces, but I have a long list of bls that I love from the bottom of my heart: fake fact lips, boku no papa to papa, cure blood, ameiro paradox, sankaku mado no sotogawa wa yoru, the eve festival, 3 ban sen no campanella, keisenjou no cantata....
06.
a) hmmmm I don't think there's a manga that I focus only on that...but I do think amamiya draws intimacy very beautifully, I like that!
b) oh god oIJFOAISJFAI idk I do like some trashy manhwas that are being released rn so (no, not jinx, I hate jinx)
hope my answers were fun for you as well!!! thank you so much 💛

tower notes [I-No]
v ABA (3-0). other player was not very familiar with the MU. easy wins. kept her in the corner, didn't let her rage once. landed megalo. one perfect.
v Potemkin (2-1). pot really liked to press slide head. had great conversions esp. with wild assault. landed megalo before pot buster. finished the set with megalo. this one felt pretty good.
v Asuka (0-2). they had better spacing than C2. was actually playing around HCL and making good use of Asuka's normals. Felt like Asuka could use all his tools but I was a one-trick pony who couldn't do anything but block and press laser
v Ramlethal (2-2). relatively even in the neutral. addicted to jumping into the corner. landed megalo. Kept getting CH by 5H (hesitating?)
v Slayer (1-2). refused to block a reversal until the very end of the set. caught dandy step with megalo. getting a better feel for this mu. opp didn't have any response to mix.
v Baiken (0-3). died to a failed safejump input (she pressed Tsurane too! agh) [x2]. hesitating too much at far range. made a lot of misinputs in this set so I think it's time for a break

Where did she come from?
It's been a while so I've honestly forgotten her exact origins, but I think I was reading a story about depressed Boss!Tsuna and all the pairings around him - which made him feel that it was at least a bit worth it to become boss.
And I think my heart reached out to this poor kid. I'll be the first to say shonen protagonists are not my favorite, but I was like - wow, if only there was someone for him, too. Someone to get him out of his own head.
And I remember an old post I'd read on Tumblr how a female!Reborn is basically what Tsuna's ideal type in women should be. Someone who can stand beside him as an equal - and when needed, get his head out of his ass.
And that's kind of where she came from. I knew she'd be a kick ass woman with charisma. And she just kinda developed herself from there.

Chapter 68 Download/Read online: Here
Note: Hello!! How's it going? Well, I may not make it alive this year, jajaja. The heat's terrible this year and Madrid is a pan.
Here's the "last chapter", feels sad, right? It's a very pretty chapter and the scenes in the play have the most beautiful lines from all the manga, in my opinion. Though I must say that this end left me a bit unsatisfied. It's a bit short and many things are unanswered. Chapter 68.5 shows a different end fortunately, which I enjoyed more. I made a note at the beginning of the chapter and I marked the page where both chapters "merge", in case you wanna read the other end along with the beginning of this.
Thanks so much to Quietus, not only for this chapter, but for providing all the last chapters of Hanakoi. Thanks a lot to Jiu for pitching in in the translation of those last 3 chapters, even without experience, the job done is superb and there'll be no final chapters without those translations. Thanks so much to Itwearsadress for checking Jiu's translaton and helping with the difficult parts. And thanks so, so much to Toshirodragon for helping me reaching the best version of every sentence. Thanks so much guys.
And thanks to you for reading!! Enjoy!!
One chapter to go!!

do you mind if i ask how you rip guilty gear animations? ive been wanting to get into ripping however there are very limited resources and few accounts are active that still rip. advice is very appreciated, thank you:)
just realized how stupid long this got right before posting so . cut
the way i do it for strive is, via unverum just for ease of use bc you can flip mod on/off at will before opening the game, get the mods that change the background of ajatar hunting ground to black/green/blue (i think it's by ultima?) and use the color of your choice (usually i use blue because black can screw with the outlines and green can cause weird lighting issues. blue can as well but it seems the least invasive of all of them to me, you can only really notice on stuff like zato bc eddie comes out sorta bluish bc he's translucent. there may be mods to help with that kind of thing but i havent looked)
pick whatever characters you want and go to training mode (unless you need something specific, like win/lose poses, of course. if it has to be during a fight you can just go to local vs with a controller and make the other character your keyboard so you dont actually have to fight) and record with OBS. pick whatever settings you think look best graphically both in strive and on OBS, idk if i can advise with those choices too well bc my hardware is beefy enough to handle max settings for stuff, ymmv
after recording, go to photoshop (doesnt matter what version, mine is ancient and ill gotten gains ive had for years. find your means. use something similar. idk) just drag the video in (no need to import it any special way) and literally just. go frame by frame copying the stuff from the animation you want into a new file and after you have all the frames go and erase it by hand. i usually use the magic eraser thing on around 50 tolerance (may need to be adjusted at times) and with anti aliasing (just cause i like the outlines not to be smooth, that also can make the "sprites" transparent and have an ugly white outline around it in gifs, do whatever you think looks good) and contiguous unchecked (contiguous just so that you dont have to go around clicking every blue/green/black spot individually, as that takes much longer. sometimes this cant be avoided, like if your character has colors too close to the background or an effect you want to keep is too close to the background color youre erasing)
additional mods i use at times are ones that turn certain characters im not focusing on invisible (like chipp or i-no, cant remember who made that one) just so i dont have to worry about cropping around another character if they do an idle animation or something, and theres one that disables lighting effects (like gio's glowies when she has full meter, or certain moves like baiken's dust or tsurane sanzu watashi) so that the gifs look nicer devoid of the like... engine based context. of that makes sense
as for XRD, i used to use a cheat table camera mod for rev that was kinda adapted from the one for sign, but since the rollback update it looks like its broken and i dont think anyone has cared much to fix it, but also havent had the time to mess around with it myself. the sign one might still work? theres a reddit thread with it out there somewhere still i think. be warned re: sign tho bc the models are kinda janky and lower quality, which probably isnt noticeable to most people but its definitely glaring to me when i moved from sign to rev. they did some major improvements on like everyone in rev
last but not least, a word of caution regarding certain things. i'd warn against trying to do any overdrives or anything that has a superflash (when the camera focuses on the character using a move, usually, like jack-o's forever elysion driver) or the strive pre move cutscene things (like baiken's tsurane sanzu watashi) as well as intro/outro cutscenes, since making them transparent not only will be a pain in the ass but probably would look weird due to the camera movement + lack of background. same goes for stuff like bursts or walk/run cycles where the character moves significantly and the camera angle might change, since not only will it be a bitch to line up correctly so it loops properly, but if the character's location or the camera angle changes it might end up looking off because the model is being viewed from a slightly different angle. not sure how obvious that would be to someone who didnt Do it but ive learned that through trial and error. might also just be perfectionism on my part. id usually get around this on xrd with the cheat table bc you could lock the model in place (but it would still move technically, which was nice if you didnt want effects like the little dust clouds when you dash getting in the way) but ive never seen anything similar for strive. from what i know it should be possible for sure, just slightly tricky to some extent and i dont really know how one would go about doing that or have the time to learn. the console for UE is locked in strive and idk if theres a way to unlock it, but that would potentially be a way to freeze models in place quick and dirty if necessary. there ARE a few camera mods out there for strive, but any model freezing aspects are just like.. full game pause, not frozen in place.
hope this is comprehensive enough to help somewhat. have a slayer

About romance :
The moon on a rainy night a yuri talking about deafness but really in a way that humanize the disabled girl. One of the two is a lesbian and I LOVE the way the mangaka frame it.
Hidamari ga kikoeru, another manga about deafness, longer, and talk about communities of disabled people and how difficult the gap can be with abled people about that
A sign of affection ANOTHER romance with a deaf character but it's more light hearted. It's actually very cute and wholesome. The anime is currently being released!
Kimi ni Todoke, a classic that paved the romantic shojo genre along with other romance. Teens gonna be teens but the platonic relationship also matter and the characters getting through high school is so endearing. There's two season and we're going to get 3rd!
A condition called love, this one give me conflicted feelings because at the beginning the male love interest is typically everything I hate but he does get better and him starting badly is the point. Depending on your tolerance it may be demanding I know it was for me but more I think about it, more I think it's actually well written. First romance that make me think "maybe I am too harsh on character's supposed to be teens"
Shikimori san which is full gender role reversal but also adorable. I recommend the manga over the anime. The beginning isn't that interesting because the mangaka didn't plan on making it a full story
Still sick, a yuri about a yuri fans and a coworker who discover her colleague passion. I won't say more, spoilers!
Our dinner table, a cute bl about learning to eat with someone you love. Same for "fashion cupcake"
Hanakoi tsurane too! It's about kabuki!
There's also given which is also animated!
Sorry I got overboard it's a lot xD
Have a good read!
That's okay! Honestly love to see that!!
Wait, I actually watched some episodes of Shikimori! Didn't finish it though (I procrastinated...) and I didn't know there's a manga!! I was enjoying the anime, too, so I definitely got to check out the manga!

Japanese folktales inspiring fighting games
Yokai have been a key source of inspiration for characters in anime and manga for years. Some of the best known and popular series use Japanese folk tales and mythology as the basis of their plots. Even the most casual of anime fans have a passing knowledge of yokai – name an anime fan you know that hasn’t seen the Oscar award winning spirited away.
But it’s not just anime and manga that have dipped their toes into the world of jumping umbrellas and turtle men balancing dishes of water on their heads – kasa-obake and kappa respectively. Video games are well known for their love for Japanese folklore and the creeps.
One genre of games that have taken great inspiration from Yokai and Japanese folktales has been fighting games.
Bishamon: Darkstalkers series
It’s funny – despite the series drawing from mythology and horror creatures for its cast, the Capcom developed Darkstalkers series actually has little in ways representation of Japanese folklore and Yokai. That said, the walking set of samurai armour Bishamon makes up for this dearth in spades.
Bishamon is surrounded by floating blue flames called Hitodama (said to be the souls of the dead separated from their bodies) while the idea of a possessed set or armour is often compared with tsukumogami – tools or items that are inhabited by a spirit, or Yokai that have lived so long they’ve have since transformed into an object.
Bishamon wears his ghostly inspiration on his sleeves, with moves such as the oni kubi hineri summoning spectral hands to squeeze the opponent, while the tsurane giri conjures up a line of ghostly samurai to slice up your enemy.
Oni: Street Fighter series
Throughout Street Fighter’s history, the character Akuma (aka Gouki) has been gifted with a number of different forms and costumes the emphasise his place in the roster as the big bad, the final boss and major antagonist for main character Ryu.
The fourth mainline game in the series saw a number of revisions, each adding a handful of new characters to play with. The last update to the game, Ultra Street Fighter Four, added a new form for Akuma to cement his place as the main antagonist – Oni.
Oni have been a constant source of inspiration for a number of video game characters, often used as visual shorthand for the character’s rage, bestiality and sometimes, stupidity. In the broadest of terms, oni are known for their superhuman strength and have been associated with powers like thunder and lightning, along with their evil nature manifesting in their propensity for murder and cannibalism.
Having thrown away his humanity in the search for power, Akuma’s transformation into Oni also invokes other parts of Japanese mythology and religion. His design is evocative of beings such as Fūjin and Raijin, the Shinto gods of wind and thunder respectively.
Orochi: King of Fighters series
Another fighting game final boss and another character that draws inspiration from Japanese myths and legends. Deviating a little from the original tale told in the Nihon Shogi, Orochi is still a monstrous eight headed serpent with a penchant for evil.
Unlike his mythological counterpart, King of Fighter’s Orochi is described as the will of the planet that does anything to keep the planet safe from any perceived. As you can probably guess, the greatest threat to the planet is the deadliest animal of them all – man! Thus begins a campaign to wipe out the human race in a misguided attempt to go back to when things were better before they came along. They took er jerbs!
Orochi’s in game design doesn’t really scream ancient Japanese deity. In fact, the white trousers, bare chest with tattoo design is a little bare bones in a series renowned for stylish characters. Still, if anything I hope I’ve inspired you enough to learn more about the original story.
Hisako: Killer Instinct
Let’s take a quick detour away from the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ to explore how Japanese folklore has been represented in the West and it’s fighting games. Rare’s Killer Instinct has drawn inspiration from many sources for its diverse cast of characters, but none wear their influence on their kimono sleeves than Hisako.
Hisako’s spooky visage is directly based on an Onryō or avenging ghost, a spectral being born from a person dying – often a woman – with hatred and resentment in their heart. These vengeful spirits go out into the world seeking to right the wrongs caused to them in live, often resulting is death and disaster wherever they roam.
Onryō in popular media often recognisable by their long, unkempt black hair and deathly pale faces – a holdover from their depiction in kabuki theatre. Hisako follows this visual shorthand, but adds a bit of visual flair with the inclusion of a beautiful red kimono and the use of a naginata as her signature weapon.
Sanpei: Blood Warrior
Meet Sanpei and there’s no other way of putting it other than he’s a kappa. Giant turtle man? Check. Little dish for water on his head? Check. Move set that takes heavy inspiration from tokusatsu legend and giant turtle monster Gamera? Check?
Sanpei made their debut in Shogun warriors where they were named Kappa (yeah, they really weren’t trying too hard with the green fella). They were swept up with a majority of the cast to join its sequel Blood Warrior, a poor man’s attempt at replicating Mortal Kombat’s success by having all the characters portrayed by digitised actors and shovelling in copious amounts of gore.
This results in a rather goofy turtle man portrayed by a poor actor in a Poundland Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costume breathing blue flames on his enemies and darting around the screen in a rocket propelled fashion much like his big screen kaiju brother.
