The list of A-12, SR-71, and YF-12 losses speaks volumes of just how dangerous the Cold War was.
CIA A-12 Project Pilot Ken Collins. This was the second A-12 to fly but the first to crash. On 24 May 1963, CIA pilot Ken Collins was flying an inertial navigation system test mission. After entering clouds, frozen water fouled the pilot-static boom and prevented correct information from reaching the standby flight instruments and the Triple Display Indicator. The aircraft subsequently entered a stall and control was lost completely followed by the onset of an inverted flat spin. Ken ejected safely and the wreckage was recovered in two days. Persons at the scene were identified and requested to sign secrecy agreements
“ I got troubles.” Ken Collins said calmly to his radio that Jack Weeks was listening to. (I was privileged to know Ken, his wife, Jane and their four children. Ken did not get shook up about anything) on May 24, 1964 using the call sign Dutch 26. Ken continued talking.’’ I think my air speed is fouled up.” in fact he is A-12 was decelerating into a dangerous corner of the flight envelope. Collins then entered a cloud deck losing all outside visual references. His A-12 pitched up flipped over and crashed. Thankfully before that happened he was able to Eject and walk away from the plane crash.
He was way out in the middle of nowhere when three men in a pick up truck came to pick him up. Ken asked them to take him to the nearest highway patrol station, he was then able to use the sheriff's radio to call a memorized number to tell the CIA his condition and location.
I am reading the book “Dreamland” by Peter Merlin, and I was surprised to read that Ken Collins was found at fault for this accident.
Ken had submitted to intense interrogation while under the influence of sodium AMYTAL. He submitted it to the interrogation shortly after he was safely ejected from the A-12. Initially, an inadequate PITOT tube was found at fault. The tube allowed moisture to seep in and freeze blocking the pressure port and resulting in erroneous readings
Col. Ledford found that it was not a material failure but a pilot error!
He believed Ken should have aborted the test and climbed above the cloud then he would’ve avoided the accident.
I’m not sure how Ken felt about Col. Ledford‘s findings but we must remember that the A-12 was in production until June 1964. The pilot error findings was a way to keep production of the A-12s rolling. This is just my thought..
After the crash, there was a search for an envelope that had fallen out of Ken Collins flight suit. It contains some top-secret papers and $1000 in cash. $1000 was a lot of money in 1963 after searching for a few days it was found a mile and a half from the crash site.
Over the years my father Butch Sheffield told me that he carried a sealed envelope while flying the SR-71 he was to give it to anyone, who might need some encouragement to help him. He never knew what was in the sealed envelope. Maybe I know now what it was?

Engine Hours – Do They Truly Matter?
People sometimes believe that engine hours are important as they determine the condition of the motor. However, that’s not entirely true. Even though they can give us some information about the car, they can’t reveal the full picture. Examining only the motor hours won’t help you understand whether a specific vehicle is worth your money or not.
Consequently, it’s not unreasonable to figure out what motor hours are, how to calculate them, and how they affect the performance of a vehicle.
WHAT ARE ENGINE HOURS?
The term “motor hours” indicates how long your engine has been active since day one. It counts hours as soon as the manufacturers release the vehicle. When someone starts driving the car, motor hours will start adding up along with the mileage on the instrument cluster.

This equation is based on the understanding that a vehicle covers one mile per minute. That’s 60 miles per hour (mph). Thus, we need to multiply motor hours by 60. For example, if the motor hours of your car are 3,500, then the conversion will look like this: 3,500×60=210,000.

DO MOTOR HOURS AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF A CAR?
Motor hours don’t affect the performance of passenger cars. They might play a role in determining the maintenance schedule for trucks and other specialty vehicles, but they don’t reflect the condition of ordinary vehicles.
Mileage is a more important factor in the auto industry when it comes to evaluating the wear and tear of a car. You can try converting engine hours to miles if you want to, but that will be a waste of time. Passenger vehicles don’t idle that much, keeping their motor hours at a low level.
Even if it weren’t so, there’s no such thing as high or low motor hours. If this factor was truly important, we’d certainly know the limits. When it comes to mileage, for example, we can easily say that 200,000 miles count as high mileage. But we don’t have similar measurements for motor hours.
Moreover, exact motor hours are difficult to measure. Even a tachometer gauge doesn’t reveal how long the engine has been running. Yes, you can use the engine hours to miles calculator and evaluate those numbers, yet you won’t be able to get accurate results.
Consequently, motor hours don’t reflect how abused a vehicle is. Mileage is a more reliable source of information in that case.

New Orleans, Louisiana. New Orleans with all its huge genesis of jazz and blues. With a history of mystique and art born on the banks of the Mississippi River. A city where the constructions and the european style (Franco-Spanish) coexist in eloquent contrast with the steel, cement and glass that constitute the visible face of this country. And this is where we come to listen to one of the most powerful English rock bands: Queen. It’s no coincidence. Their new album is called “Jazz” and New Orleans breathes it everywhere. This charming city that seems unreal, welcomed a group of journalists from various nations, invited especially by EMI to attend the concert, the party and subsequent press conference that Queen was going to give. New Orleans was the third date of the 32 concerts that the band was going to perform in 29 cities throughout the country. With overwhelming success in Europe, this tour marked Queen’s final coup in the United States. And they did, because the band is playing like never before, with much more rock and roll than when they started. This is what happened on stage.

An hour before
The concert in New Orleans would take place in the Auditorium, an immense theatre belonging to the city with a capacity for 20,000 spectators. This was Queen’s third performance in the United States, having played two days earlier in the legendary Memphis (Tennessee). The show would start at eight o'clock in the evening, and an hour earlier we decided to go to the concert site to recognize the field. The Auditorium is located practically in the centre of the city, so the access to the place, and later exit, were done quickly and efficiently. The concert is barely an hour away and the people is waiting in front of the gate numbered one hundred. We approached to chat a little with the boys who wander around drinking soft drinks or the very light American beer. Almost everyone sees Queen for the first time and, not coincidentally, their number one band is Led Zeppelin. Everyone shows they know a lot about the band and gets excited when a colleague from Argentine television and his cameraman starts filming them with the camera.
When we retire, we observe the four enormous trucks that carried the stage that Queen uses in their shows. We return to the hotel where a special bus will take us to the stadium.

The stage
The Auditorium of New Orleans is a large rectangular cement stadium. It has a plateaus tray that surrounds it completely. In the lower part no seats were placed, while upstairs it is easy to settle in the bleachers, where there are a lot of exits and corridors to the outside. People enter comfortably and quickly and there are few policemen, who act as ushers, indicating where to place themselves and how to avoid crowds. New Orleans has among its traditions the Mardi Gras (our carnival) so it is customary to attend disguised events. Thus four witches, a mummy, three wild animals, a princess, two Martians, and some more difficult to identify parade before our gazed eyes. Everything serves to color the party. The stage is about thirty meters in front and ten meters in deep. At the sides there are two platforms one meter high, just below the columns of reamplification. These hang from the ceiling of the stage in two groups of six. The stage is open, in the dark. You can only see a kind of grill of lights, hanging directly in front of the audience. In a few minutes the stadium fills up. The turnout is estimated at 18,000 people. All tickets were sold in advance, at the sole price of $8.50. There are no numbered locations and the ones that arrive are the ones that get the best location. There are no fights and everything runs smoothly. In the area without seats are located two huge consoles: to the right the computerized system of programmed lights. These are the stage lights, up and to the sides, and the ones that fall from behind in front of the stage. To the left is the console, with sound -one of them- and just like the previous one it doesn’t have no guards or barricades around it.

Opening
It’s half past eight and with the stadium full, all the lights go out. The screaming is infernal and is only subdued by Queen’s music. The stage is illuminated when the huge console of 500 red, green and white lamps is lit alternately. As a dense column of smoke emerges from the floor, the console begins to rise backwards, finally forming the roof of the stage. The effect is achieved and makes the crowd shout even more. Music is the basis of rock and roll. Now we see the musicians. May on the left, Deacon on the right, Mercury on the right, and Taylor with his drums back to the center. On the right you can see the great grand piano that Mercury used several times. The battery is mounted on a three-storey platform with white light spots directed at the public. Above Taylor’s head hangs a huge gong also surrounded by lights, and to his right, a pair of timpanis. Mercury sings “We Will Rock You” in a revamped rock and roll version. The bass supports the tones with astonishing security and the rhythm invites movement.
Mercury sings like on records, the whole group sounds perfect in a clear, undistorted stereo. It moves with the grace of a contortionist or a classical dancer, always clinging to the microphone reed, a kind of cane that will be used in a thousand ways throughout the show.

“Good night, New Orleans,” shouts Mercury and the audience responds enthusiastically. We still can’t react to such a flood of light and sound, when Mercury sits at the piano to attack.
“Somebody To Love”, a beautiful gospel song that allows us to enjoy Queen’s best instrument: their voices. The band threshes the song safe, comfortable, and on the end Mercury plays a solo that stands the audience up. Almost without breathing we passed to one of the top albums in Queen’s career: “A Night At The Opera”. The opening, “Death On Two Legs,” is Brian May’s blunt and overwhelming guitar display. There are probably a dozen guitarists more skilled than him in rock, but very few have the ability, style and imagination that he possesses. His guitar is main part of Queen’s original sound, at times with a rancid and distorted hue and sometimes clear and classic. Almost without stopping they continue with “ Killer Queen”, one of the first successful songs in Buenos Aires. A combination of hard rock with Beatle style vocalizations. The main instrument in this song are the voices of Mercury, Taylor and May. This time the next song “I’m In Love With My Car” is hooked and starts with a heavy riff. Mercury’s voice transforms into Chuck Berry. May makes a very polished solo with a very Hendrix sound (he loves him) and Mercury stands next to him gesturing with the microphone as if he were an imaginary guitarist. At the end he sits at the piano and abruptly the song becomes “Get Down, Make Love”, a true monument to heavy rock. A dense, choppy riff, supported by the piano and the forcefulness of rhythm. Then the stage lights go out and the lights begin to turn on the audience. The lights run through the stage rack in a precise effect. May plays all sorts of effects with his guitar, accompanying Mercury’s vocal acrobatics. The drums explode and the riff repeats itself tirelessly. The next track is “You’re My Best Friend” a moment of tranquility for everyone with this song in the best style of the ‘60s.

The new trick
We all need a break, but it’s very brief because Mercury announces that the next one is a John Deacon song, using a play on words. He sits at the piano and starts “ Spread Your Wings”, a typical American ballad, with a Mercury deeply inspired by Mc Cartney - isn’t that wonderful? So when I heard that Royal Enfield was launching a nationwide tour featuring some of their newest models, I knew there was strong potential to find my scrambling side piece.

The Himalayan was dirt-capable. Check! The Himalayan was light (well, lighter than my Harley). Check! The Himalayan was cheap. Check! So when I threw my leg over the 31.5 inch-high seat, I couldn’t help but have high hopes for Royal’s compact off-roader.
As the instructor hollered liability terms and the obligatory sales pitch, I looked over the bike. The simplistic, classic lines spoke to my minimalist preferences. The lack of gadgets and rider aids made the model feel immediately approachable.

I settled into the ultra-comfortable seat, grasped the handlebars, and retracted the kickstand. With my right boot resting on the peg, I jammed the shifter into first gear, revved the engine, and slowly released the clutch. To my surprise, the friction zone didn’t engage until I was about 3 quarters of the way out. I’m sure this was a result of tens of thousands of miles racked up on a nationwide demo tour, but it certainly brought back a long lost feeling, as memories of stalling out flashed before my eyes. I thought of the time I bogged the engined and dropped the bike in an intersection. I cringed as the sound of honking horns came rushing back. Thankfully the power kicked in just in time, relieving me of that dreaded “novice” embarrassment (especially in front of these seasoned riders).
Once I got up to speed, I repositioned my feet, a necessary adjustment on the Himalayan. With the pegs residing directly under the rider and the pedals at a level angle, I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to scoot fore or aft on the saddle. I eventually sided with a forward-leaning posture, but that left me feeling as if I was mounting a rocking horse.
Luckily, I was able to work myself into a passable position as we approached our first light. At a slow roll and with the relatively low seat height (for an ADV), I could duck walk the bike, a comforting attribute when you’re new to adventure riding, even if it makes you feel like a toddler on a pushbike. But it’s when you twist the throttle on the Himalayan that it makes you feel like you’re actually on training wheels.
Touting 25 HP and 20 ft-lb of torque, Royal Enfields little 400 felt like it was running through mud, despite the fact that we were rolling over fresh pavement. Though I didn’t record the time any of my 0-60 mph pulls on the single-cylinder scoot, the combination of the stocky frame and the anemic motor allows me to comfortably hypothesize that it was well into the double digits (in seconds).

At this point in the demo, I saw RE’s little adventurer as a glorified moped with taller suspension and better ergos. It didn’t help that in addition to the unenthused acceleration, the bike didn’t receive any help from the clumsy gearbox.
At only 5-gears, the transmission felt like an accurate reflection of the Himalayan’s $4,499 MSRP. I found myself unintentionally shifting into neutral several times throughout the ride. It was quite amazing that I could find neutral not only during my upshifts but also during downshifts. The problem is, I was trying to find 1st and 2nd, not neutral. On the other hand, I’m grateful that Royal Enfield outfitted the dash with a gear indicator so I could quickly identify any hiccups with the shifting. That feature was certainly handy when I rolled to a stoplight in 3rd gear, but that’s where the bike really performed - while braking.
Though the engine was more worthy of a golf cart, the brakes felt like they came off a Mack Truck. Sporting a 2-piston caliper up front and a single-pot caliper out back, the braking system of the Himalayan may have been the most impressive aspect of the mini-ADV. While the braking components don’t sound powerful on paper, in concert, they performed with a high level of efficiency and effectiveness, bringing the bike to a halt with immediacy. At times, it felt like the braking power was almost too effective, especially given the bike’s suspension.
Fork dive never results in a good feeling, but with such powerful brakes and flimsy 41mm fork legs, the sensation was inevitable on the Himalayan. Coupling two incongruent systems usually highlights the deficiencies of the pairing rather than the benefits of the exceptional component. Yes, the brakes of Royal’s ADV stood out, but the collapsable front suspension only turned that positive into a negative.
At the rear, the monoshock exhibited stiffer, more responsive reactions to braking/acceleration and road irregularities, but the inconsistency of the unit also plagued the ride. For a model that’s supposed to spend a good portion of its life in the dirt, I doubt the combination of the underpowered motor, 420lb+ curb weight, and remedial suspension would be helpful off the pavement. I wouldn’t feel comfortable tackling anything more challenging than a fire road on the Royal. That’s especially sad for a bike named the Himalayan.
On that note, I was relieved that we never rode the bike in the brown. Although you don’t need all the power in the world when you’re riding off-road (in some cases it can be a detriment), you do need to be able to get yourself out of tight spots and over obstacles, two things that seemed daunting to me while riding atop the overweight/underpowered ADV.
The sub-500cc dual-sport market is dominated by motocross-inspired machines originally designed in the ‘90s (& unchanged since) and the Himalayan is a breath of fresh air - even if its design plays on a past era. With retro styling and fuel injection, it’s ironic to say that the Royal Enfield is enlivening the segment. But with most of the models in the category approaching 3 decades of continuous production, it’s nice to see someone trying something different. Even if the dual-sport consumer focuses more on specs than looks, the Himalayan may attract an audience due to the simple fact that it is different.
For me, I don’t think the concessions made in function are worth the nominal boost in form. Lots of bright bio-lights tracing around his frame that flash an undulating pattern of red and blue when brightened up, signalling to anybody he’s just hauled out of rubble that they don’t have to panic at him. He also has a set of relatively large winglets that lift up and flare out, their plates separating evenly to uncover holo-generators, and produce hardlight ‘feathers’ in the same patterns as his bio-lights. The whole thing is basically meant to blast a new patient with “hello I am a medic do not punch me” signals as fast and loud as possible so they calm down. His light bar is flexible and wraps around his shoulders, so if you’re looking at him from any angle, he’s basically just got a giant neon sign over his helm saying “MEDIC”.
His alt mode is the sort of thing you’d expect to see if someone was designing an ambulance to have land mines thrown at it. Large enough to carry someone small in his cargo bay, heavy tires, heavy armor, stocky build, wide wheel base, the whole nine yards of “don’t even bother fucking with me” features that one can put on a technically civilian vehicle.
He has this neat feature where some of the overlapping plating on his chassis sorta folds outward, expanding out of its flat structure and uncovering a few layers from his spark chamber. His chamber is still pretty well protected, but the area around it gets thinner, which looks a bit odd until you see the structure it makes as they unfold. They wind up parallel to his side plating, meaning he has something of a hollow in his general chassis area. He can lean over someone with his chassis like that, protect them from just about all angles, and use himself as armor for them, or put them in it and fold things up a bit. It only fits small bots, but they’re the ones who need the extra armor!
Besides all that, his hearing is sharp, albeit a bit iffy now that he’s been around a lot of explosions, and he has infrared vision that he can turn on at will to try and spot hidden fires or buried potential patients. It’s not quite functioning at full precision in one optic, though, and his long-range vision is pretty shoddy. Medics can’t see very far even when they haven’t been near explosions.
He carries a war hammer in a specially modified subspace pocket designed to hold just one or two large objects. It has a joint between head and shaft designed to limit the amount of the force of impact that gets transmitted between the head and shaft, though- medics’ servos can’t handle the recoil of such a large hammer swung by such a strong frame. All the force that doesn’t go into the target has to be dissipated against springs to avoid numbing and damaging his servos. The parts of the shaft not used as a handle are a sort of trophy case- badges and weapon triggers from opponents or just from people who pissed him off real bad, fangs and claws from animals, glued in place and then bound with wire to keep them from jostling loose.
His whole frame is a bit beat up. Plating dull from stress, covered in scars from cuts that never quite healed right, joints that creak a bit oddly now and then, probably some shrapnel in assorted places.
And his mind is a LOT beat up.
Five-Alarm has been a medic through the whole war, for obvious reasons. Like every other medic, he was badly overworked, pushed so far past the end of his rope he couldn’t have found it if his life depended on it. Had to start assessing any potential patient with an optic for if he could save them, if he could save them but in an amount of time that would leave too many others to die, or if he wouldn’t be able to save them with the supplies, time, and situation that he had. That’s not great for someone’s mental health, not on a daily basis, not with this lingering idea that if he could just move faster he could save them.
As the war went on, he started taking stimulants so he’d need less sleep. Relatively mild things at first, then stronger, increasingly makeshift substances, with increasingly strong side effects.
He also started jump-starting his patients with his own spark. He was strong enough, after all, large enough and durable enough and with enough spark energy that his frame could boost someone’s guttering, desperately grasping spark and regenerate afterwards. It worked, sometimes. Often as not, though, the spark that was guttering already flickered and died against his, but at least they weren’t alone, at least they knew someone was here, was trying to help, was with them.
Somewhere along the way, he started hallucinating. Not too badly at first, flickers and moving shadows and half-heard voices. The occasional thing that someone might mistake for a ghost, if they weren’t a medic with enough scanners and instruments to determine that what he was watching didn’t actually exist. He did have to check that it wasn’t some kind of spark-echo trapped in his own chamber, of course, but he quickly arrived at the realization that he wasn’t actually seeing anything. That it was probably related to stress. That it was fine, it would go away on its own once things were safer.
Then he wound up on what should have been a fairly easy posting. A smallish group of bots, dropped off in a newly constructed base on a moon rich in resources, with no job other than manning the machinery and otherwise collecting resources to be distributed.
What his superiors didn’t realize was the reason why they couldn’t find any other settlements on that moon. It was inhabited by various organic animals, they knew that much, but they didn’t know what the worst of them was. A fairly large creature, easily the size of most Cybertronians, adapted to both hunt organic prey or dig for energon deposits. A species that wore bone and meteorite shards as armor. Not sapient, but fairly clever, prone to moving in packs. Nocturnal, repulsed by light, initially repelled by the noise and spotlights of construction. Once the main ship was gone (never to return, though no one involved would have known it), the creatures got bolder, and the workers found themselves in their own little horror movie.
Their first losses were at night. They didn’t know, couldn’t have known, not to go out at night.
The next, dawn and dusk. They had to learn from bitter experience that the creatures can and will run between shadows if sufficiently curious, or if they smell even a drop of energon from the tiniest cut.
They stopped going out at any time other than midday, but even that wasn’t enough. The creatures had already torn down their little transport-ships, learned that they liked the taste of Cybertronian-purified energon, and were trying to figure out how to get in. The base had never been made to defend against attacks by a thing that feared light, the spotlight coverage was spotty at best. But it was enough to let them see the creatures, the things that crept up to the edge of the lights to watch them, the things wearing shards of corpses as armor and looking for a way to get more.
The sensible response was to seal off most of the base as thoroughly as possible, even cutting some of it down to remove the potential for shadows, and rig every spotlight they had to cover their existing base. The creatures wouldn’t go through a band of enough light, and that was what it took to keep them out while the remaining crew tried to figure out a way to leave.
Until the lights failed. Until an electrical storm that shorted out their power, and the discovery that the creatures, if given the chance, could and would rip through doors and walls alike.
Alarm would have saved the others if he could. He always would have. But he wound up being surrounded, and by the time he’d hammered a couple of the creatures to death, the others were dead. They weren’t even soldiers, most of them, poor things.
He spent the night crammed into a closet with every portable light he’d been able to find, most of them rigged to plug into his own frame in various ways to keep them running, fully aware that to sleep, to let his headlights and his display-lights dim, would mean he would die too.
The creatures left back to their burrows in the mornings, having drained every bit of energon they could find, and took much of the material from the bodies with them. That left Alarm, on his own, in a base that never should have been maintained by fewer than 5 bots, with full knowledge that letting anything crumble meant the creatures would be back to eat him.
He brought the spotlights back online, he found as many lights as he could get to keep right next to his berth, he hauled his chemistry kit into the single room he was keeping alive, and he cut away every piece of base that attached to that one to be sure its own shadows wouldn’t let something up close to him.
That’s about when things started to unravel further for Alarm. He couldn’t sleep during the day because he had to spend all his time repairing the base’s lights and the generators that kept them running, because if any of it failed, he would absolutely die. He couldn’t sleep at night because it was dark, because he had to be awake to carry out disaster scenarios if something failed, if another electrical storm or something worse put things out of commission, if the radio still running in the background got any signals that might indicate some kind of hope to get free, if, if, if, and on and on and on.
By the time anyone found him, he was a mess. Hyped up on a very makeshift injectable stimulant to keep him awake, keep him moving fast enough to do everything he needed.
Hallucinating almost constantly, to the surprise of no one with any information on his circumstances. Ghosts, primarily- echoes of bots he couldn’t save. Bleeding from various wounds, crushed, broken, mutilated, occasionally outright on fire, but never acting like it. Watching him, even talking now and then, about nothing in particular.
Or the not-ghosts. The images of bots he did save, reappearing now, possibly as some kind of coping mechanism, so he could talk to them and they could tell him about important things he’d seen but hadn’t consciously registered.
Or fragments. Corpses scattered across the floor, energon pooling around his pedes, enough to mistake for something real if it hadn’t been for the lack of tactile sensation.
When someone else finally found him, he didn’t realize it. He assumed the big, healthy-looking bot standing in front of him was a hallucination, someone he didn’t remember seeing, and, not in the mood to talk, tried to walk through him.
It didn’t really work, of course, he ran smack into Bracer and fell on his aft. And, after a few moments of prodding to be sure he hadn’t run into, what, a stack of crates, he immediately clung onto the first bot he’d seen in who knew how long and insisted that they leave, now, now, now, before nightfall.
Bracer is a smart bot. If someone is alone, thoroughly haggard-looking, and marked up with scars of claw and bite marks that haven’t healed right, and they’re insisting that everyone leave before nightfall? He will do that.
It took a long time in deep sedation for the stimulants to work their way out of his system. That took the worst of the hallucinations with it, but he’s still seeing things. Mostly relatively benign things- ghosts, or bots he saved at some point, turning up to talk to him. Occasionally something more concerning, like wounds appearing on the frames of actual people. Every now and then, if he’s especially stressed, shades of the creatures that tried to eat him and just barely failed.
Five-Alarm is still not exactly what we’d call stable. Paranoid, overly concerned with the welfare of others, their need to be in ideal shape, to the point of harassing other bots whose scars he deems too likely to cause trouble. He’s trying to help, he really is, but anxiety and mania can make him too pushy.
He’s definitely still hallucinating!
And he doesn’t sleep. Not by any force of drugs, but mostly out of anxiety. He doesn’t sleep, he paces, and occasionally crashes and naps for a little while crammed into whatever corner was nearest when he crashed. Usually clutching a weapon of some sort for protection against... nothing, actually.
He can’t convince himself that he’s safe. And he can’t sleep, he can’t, it’s not safe, something might get in, he needs to be awake, to be aware, but dear Primus it’s getting hard to exist. The only reason he isn’t back on stimulants is because he’s not allowed to have them, or the structures to make them. Probably a good idea. He’s not inclined to argue too much with it.
He’d probably, definitely sleep better if he had someone to sleep with. Contact would help.
And, not shockingly, he’s terrified of the dark. Not just because of the uncertainty, not just because he can’t see what might be here. Because he knows, he’s already made the associations, that the darkness brings death with it.
He should really be on antianxiety meds. He isn’t, he’s afraid they’ll dull his senses, but he really, really should be.
