Trope rating game
Thank you for the tag @your-catfish-friend @wikiangela @thewolvesof1998
Rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic? -10 -> very dissuaded 0 - don’t care either way +10 -> very enticed nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged. Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
Age gap +1
So long as it's not a huge age gap and if there's smut involved everyone needs to be in their 20s or above.
Codependency +5
Maybe I like it a bit more, honestly so long as it doesn't go into the toxic zone I even find it endearing.
Obsession/possessiveness, jealousy +4
Same so long as it doesn't go into toxic stuff or the whole Dark!character stuff, I enjoy it.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc) +7
Don't actually look for it, but tends to be the kind of ships I'm into, I mean have you guys watched Buddie daddies!? I know they're not canon, but I can tell the writers tried.
Enemies to lovers, enemies with benefits +9
Hell yes, I love it.
Friends with benefits +8
I like it. But makes me go 'You guys are already fucking!!! Just confess already!' But I have the same reaction to slow burns so.
Sex to feelings 0
I mostly read 'Feelings to sex' so I'm impartial to this one.
Fake dating/relationship +10
I fucking love it!
Friends to lovers +10
Fucking love it!!!!
Found family +11
I'm so going to fucking click on anything found family!
Hurt/comfort +40
Love that shit, love that those fics can destroy me only to then throw a blanket and a warm drink at the end and say 'everything is going to be okay'
Love triangle +1
They can be fun but to be a true love triangle instead of the typical arrow most media stuff have going on the three people should really be basically into each other not two going crazy for one. in which case just fucking be a poly trio.
Poly, open relationship +2
Depends on the characters to be honest, for example I read reader inserts sometimes and I love Oberyn Martell, he is canonically with Ellaria (and whomever catches their attention) and I can't for the love of god see them separated, they're a package deal for me, so I'm very into reading Oberyn/reader/Ellaria stuff. Beside them I have little to no Poly ships but I'm not against them.
Mistaken/hidden identity +9
I love it even if some times I get frustrated with all the miscommunication, but they're so much fun to read. Speaking of, this series is freaking hilarious and I love it: The ordeal of dating your captain's (adopted) son by @the-amber-raven It has found family stuff too!!!!
Monsterfucking +8
YES.
Pregnancy +5
Don't go looking for normal pregnancy fics... but Breeding kink is 👀 Don't mind M!preg fics either but don't really go looking for them.
Second chance 0
So long as whatever happened isn't unforgivable like say, cheating, not interested into reading fics with infidelity. (I may not like Taylor Kelly a lot, but Buck really really fucked up by not telling her about the kiss as soon as it happened)
Slowburn +100
LOVE IT!!! May get impatient but I freaking love slow burns.
Soulmates +10
I love the whole "OMG it's you!" thing
No pressure tags! @made-ofmemories @wildlife4life @hippolotamus @disasterbuckdiaz @diazblunt @alyxmastershipper @loserdiaz @crowleywasagryffindor @theotherluciferr @forthewolves

Trope Rating Game
Thanks for the tags @jesuisici33 @mammameesh and @a-noble-dragon ❤️
Rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic?
-10 -> very dissuaded
0 - don’t care either way
+10 -> very enticed
nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged.
Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
Age gap: -5
Not really my thing but never say never.
Codependency: 0
I don't know if I've read this trope. Not sure if I'm into it.
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +3
I like a little possessiveness.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): 0
Again I'm not sure about this.
Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits:+10
Yes. Gimme!
Friends with benefits: +10
Pining while fucking. Yep. But it has to have a happy ending
Sex to feelings: +10
See above lol
Fake dating/relationship: +10
This is one of my faves.
Friends to lovers: +10
Another favourite.
Found Family: +10
Mmhmm yep.
Hurt/Comfort: +10
Yes. Give me the angst but it has to have a happy ending.
Love Triangle: nope
Not for me
Poly, open relationships: -10
Again not for me.
Mistaken/hidden identity: 0
I'm not sure I've read this trope.
Monsterfucking: +10
Depends on the writer/story. I've read a couple of vampire and werewolf fics that were good. And do we count dragons as monsters?
Pregnancy: nope
Absolutely not.
Second Chance: 0
It would depend on the circumstances
Slowburn: +10
Ultimate. I just love it.
Soulmates: 0
Again, I'm not sure if I've read any but I would give it a try.
I'm not sure who's already done this so I'll tag some mutuals who have recently been in my notes. Feel free to ignore.

Hi! For the trope ask game: beautiful cinnamon roll too good for this world, too pure characters
Think I'd go with "I guess." Because it's nice with a character who I actually identify as sweet and pure, but if it's a mismatch it can drive me crazy.

Trope rating game
Tagged by @made-ofmemories - I was focused on finishing the mortifying ordeals anniversary fic so I'm saving the tidbit Tuesday tag for snippet Sunday but this felt like something fun to celebrate posting the second half of these are the days.
Age gap +0
Kind of a non-thing for me really. Wouldn't make me click in or out (unless the gap involved anyone underage with an adult. That's a hard no.)
Codependency +8
Yes plz, bonus points for lots of fluff and hurt/comfort 😍😍😍
Obsession/possessiveness, jealousy +7
I absolutely love me some low-key possessiveness and it would absolutely make me click into a fic. Enjoy some low-stakes jealousy as well, but not a huge fan of when it reaches toxic jealousy or obsessiveness.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc) +10
Gimme Gimme Gimme
Enemies to lovers, enemies with benefits +3
Eh, if I'm in the right mood for it I'll read it but it's not my favourite.
Friends with benefits +5
Another one where I need to be in the right mood for it but I do tend to enjoy this one more - and there are some fun Buddie ones which have really softened me towards the genre.
Sex to feelings +4
Somewhere in between the above two.
Fake dating/relationship +10
Definitely a trope that would make me wanna click into a fic. Love the humour you can get in these stories and being drawn into the feels as the pair realise their feelings but then remain convinced that it's still pretend for the other one... ugh, yes, gimme.
Friends to lovers +7
Out of all the X-to-lovers tropes, this is my favourite (and it works so damn well for 9-1-1!)
Found family +1000000000
This should probably be obvious given what I write but yessss found family is the absolute best I love it so much.
Actually, I'll make a slight confession... the reason I originally got drawn into Buddie was because I was so desperate for more found family 9-1-1 fics that I started reading Buddie fics that happened to have a solid team-as-family focus 😂 And then I fell into the Buckley-Diaz family and the rest, as they say, is history!
Hurt/comfort +10
This trope is almost always the main reason I get drawn into fandoms - the canon leaves me without the comfort and so I go searching for it in fic! Definitely one of my most used filters.
Love triangle -3
Look, I won't necessarily immediately click out of a fic with a love triangle but it would definitely make me second guess reading it. I don't like the drama of them.
Poly, open relationship +1
It won't stop me from reading a fic but I probably also probably wouldn't read one where the relationship was the main focus.
Mistaken/hidden identity +100
Lol, I've been tagged in two people's answers to this one thanks to The ordeal of dating your captain's (adopted) son - the fact that I created an entire AU so that I could use this trope in 9-1-1 probably says it all about how much I love it!
I will search for and pretty much devour any fic that has this trope in whichever fandom I fall into (I've been on a Charmed rewatch recently and man the plethora of Chris revelation fics have been great)
Monsterfucking -5
Not really my thing.
Pregnancy -3
Won't stop me reading a fic focused on something else but I wouldn't read something where the pregnancy itself was the focus.
Second chance +2
It would depend on a lot of other factors.
Slowburn +7
I do love a good slowburn although I do have my limits and I have to be in the right mood for it.)
Soulmates +5
I never used to be a huge fan of them but they can have some really fantastic worldbuilding and I've read some really beautiful ones. I don't necessarily seek them out but if I come across one in the wild there's a good chance I'll click into it.
Tags: Hmm, okay I haven't been on tumblr a whole lot this week, who hasn't done it? @beforeastorm, no pressure but feel free if you'd like to!

Trope Rating game
Tagged by @suspiciouspopsicle!! LET'S GO
rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic? -10 -> very dissuaded 0 - don’t care either way +10 -> very enticed nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged. Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
Age gap: 0
A lot of this depends on how it's handled and the length of the age gap. I hate the 1000+ year old elf/etc looks like a 12 year old, but as long as everyone of age and there's consent and not a gross power imbalance.
Codependency: -3
Like, I like characters feelings like they need each other, but ultimately standing on their own. In this same vein, I prefer 'chooses to be save themselves because of love' vs 'saved by love' end of this sort of trope.
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: 0
Another that kind of depends on how it's handled. I dislike an overbearing possessiveness, but when it's played a bit for comedic effect and ultimately harmless, it's fine.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): 8
LOVE OPPOSITES attract. IT'S GOOD.
Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: 4
Enemies to lovers, YEs. Enemies with benefits? Handled more as a rivalry and I'm game.
Friends with benefits: 5
I'm usually a single pairing style, but if it leads to more romantic feelings, I'm absolutely game. I use it sometimes as a background thing, but I like an emotional endgame.
Sex to feelings: 9
Like above, I LOVE AN emotional endgame that starts with casual sex. Especially if those feelings start quickly and cause all sorts of mutual pining.
Fake dating/relationship: 5
For comedic purposes, yes! I've read one fic that played it serious that was really good though, so it can definitely be handled with a deeper tone.
Friends to lovers: 50
YES YES YES YES (especially childhood friends to lovers, I EAT THAT SHIT UP)
Found Family: 10
Love a found family! While I usually write with mostly romance in mind, the queer in me desperately loves a big cast of weirdos all finding solace and home in each other.
Hurt/Comfort: 10
SUFFER FOR THE HAPPY ENDING. I will drag a character through hell, through things that should kill them, that should make them lose hope, only to watch them emerge triumphant, if damaged, on the other side. Also the potential for processing trauma not touched on by in canon events is SO FUN, especially with comfort aspects to follow to start the healing process.
Love Triangle: -5
Ehhh. I'm sure there's plenty that is well written out there, but I'm usually avoid this one.
Poly, open relationships: 0
There's a few poly relationships I'm into (Juriestelle....) but they are few and far between and never include my OTPs.
Mistaken/hidden identity: 3
I've had some fun with this, but it's not really something I gravitate too often.
Monsterfucking: 9
Yes. Werewolf, cryptid, eldritch horror, I'm down.
Pregnancy: -100
No NO nO NOO. Do not like. I am fine with characters having kids, but I do not want to read or write anything about the pregnancy stages of that. I much prefer the adoption route (see found family trope...)
Second Chance: 0
Not over something like infidelity. Drifting apart and trying again and things like that are okay if well done.
Slowburn: 7
I love writing slowburn. As a reader, I feel so impatient! But there's so much of it that's done so well.
Soulmates: 5
I'm good with some of the soulmate stuff. Like, I've used it, but in a generally less tropy way and more of a symbolic thing. But I've seen some very interesting concepts.
Tagging anyone who wants to do it! (I don't mind being tagged in these things AT ALL, they're so much fun, but I don't want to be annoying and tag other people lol...)

Thank you for the tag @ladydorian05 <3
Rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic? -10 -> very dissuaded 0 - don’t care either way +10 -> very enticed nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged. Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
Age gap 0
Not really keen on fics that emphasise an age gap, but not bothered if it's not like... huge.
Codependency +1
I mean... Buddie are pretty codependent in canon anyway so I kinda like it when it follows that line.
Obsession/possessiveness, jealousy +4
So long as it doesn't go into toxic stuff I enjoy it.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc) +10
I dunno I love the whole complete opposites thing <3
Enemies to lovers, enemies with benefits +9
Just yes. So much yes.
Friends with benefits +4
Like... If it leads to an actual relationship yes, especially if they're idiots who are like noooo I can't be in love with that person cause we're just FwB.
Sex to feelings +4
I feel like this is kinda the same as the previous one but I have read some that are like sex to friends to feelings and found I loved the dynamic.
Fake dating/relationship +10
Yes the absolute best idiots to lovers thing.
Friends to lovers +0
Yeah I enjoy this though that's literally the Buddie storyline.
Found family +20
This one is always my fave because it hits so close to home and I feel it so much.
Hurt/comfort +10
Yes yes yes give me all the pain then the happy awwwws
Love triangle -2
Not really keen on that kinda pain.
Poly, open relationship 0
Eh. Not something I'd actively seek. But depending on the ship and whether it fits with the characters personality I could enjoy I guess.
Mistaken/hidden identity +9
I always find this one amusing and when well written it drags me in every time.
Monsterfucking 0
Another one I haven't really sought or read so neutral.
Pregnancy +1
Don't go looking for it. Don't mind M!preg fics either if well done but don't really go looking for them. Depends what fandom too, sometimes it fits, sometimes not.
Second chance +5
Not really for infidelity but things like Character A fucked up and Character B makes them work for it to get the trust back... yeah, I love that.
Slowburn +100
Who doesn't love a slow burn?! The best.
Soulmates +8
I've read some really, really freaking good soulmate fics and especially when only one knows and freaks out that the other won't feel the same, love it.

Thanks for the tag!! Okay let's see,,
Age gap: nope! Don't like age gaps, they make me feel weird
Codependency: +9 THIS IS MY SHIT!! I love this trope but very few write it correctly/accurately (that is, not taking it too far and/or making the characters able to have lives outside one another while still relying on the other person)
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +6 only good if it's written correctly!! Kinda goes hand in hand with codependency with me but for fics centered around this, yeah I'm just "eh" with em
Opposites: +3 good trope, just not my cup of tea. I think characters are more than the one-sided versions this trope mostly consists of so I just don't enjoy these as much as others
Enemies to lovers, enemies with benefits: +10 absolutely my favorite. I am In Love. I will give you a kiss on the forehead if you write witty banter between characters even after they're in love. Because I want to. And because I can.
Friends with benefits: +8 okay this one's gotta have feelings involved or else I won't read it. Like if they don't fall in love, it's no dice for me. Sorry.
Sex to feelings: 0 maybe?? I honestly can't remember a fic I've read with this trope but who knows, maybe I'll like it
Fake dating/relationship: +6 I'll read it if the premise sounds interesting but I find them cliche for the most part. Just really formulaic to me
Friends to lovers: +10 THIS IS ALSO MY SHIT!! God, give me characters with a positive, established relationship that leads to more and I'll fall in love with you. Seriously. The connection? The love? The feeling??? Oh my god????
Found family: +7 I like it as a side trope bc it adds world building and outside relationships but I probably won't read something based solely around it
Hurt/comfort: +10 this is an immediate read for me!! If there's hurt AND comfort? You bet your ass I'm reading it right the fuck now. If you can give me intense angst that will leave my chest hurting and tears pricking my eyes while promising me a happy ending where the characters work out their differences and issues then I will love you for all eternity
Love triangle: 0 again, this is one of those situations where I don't really know if I've read a fic like this, but I think I'd find it annoying tbh
Poly, open relationships: +5 I'm open to reading these fics but I don't actively seek these out most of the time (also depends on the fandom)
Mistaken/hidden identity: +4 usually depends on the "why". Superhero/villain fics are a good read, not something I'd go searching for tho. Same applies to Rockstar!character fics
Monsterfucking: +10 ....do I even have to say anything?? Okay apparently I do- this is a good trope if, and it's a big IF, it is done correctly and to the likes of the fandom. What I mean by that is if a character is commonly turned into a monster/turned into a monster within the universe, the universal understanding of those creatures must be used. That means no adding weird shit!! If the monster doesn't have it, don't add it!! Keep them the way the fandom wants them and everyone will be relatively happy!
Pregnancy: -10 okay I get why some people like this, don't hate on me, but I just... don't. It's more to do with personal issues than the trope itself but yeah, just don't like it
Second chance: +5 only if it's done right!! Idk if you know what I mean but if you do know what I mean then you get it. If the first chance was ended by something super bad that I, myself, wouldn't forgive someone for? Then it's a no for me dog. But! If it's something reasonable/understandable/misunderstanding then yeah, I'll read it
Slowburn: +10 ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY!! Will immediately read anything with this tag, I don't care (that's obv not true). Give me a 100k+ slowburn fic any day and I will marry you
Soulmates: nope! Okay don't come at me for this but I just don't like it when characters' fate is predetermined like this. I want the "will they/won't they" of relationships without the "well the universe says they will so they will". The only exception I'll EVER make is if the characters aren't actually soulmates (they don't have one, they died, etc) and find solace in one another

tagged by @just-my-latest-hyperfixation (my wife must be trying to kinkshame me or something that's okay I'm into it)
rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic? -10 -> very dissuaded 0 - don’t care either way +10 -> very enticed nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged. Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
Age gap: +3
It definitely isn't a make or break for me, but sometimes when I'm on the cusp of not clicking something and I see it, especially with certain authors, the temptation is too good to ignore.
Codependency: +5
It's about the toxic love for me. They just NEED each other SO MUCH.
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: + 7
There are the occasional times when the obsessive/possession is too much, but it is RARE at this point. The more "you're mine, I'm yours" there is the better to meeeee.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): +4
I like it as a background feature most of the time (said as if my most popular written work didn't start as grumpy/sunshine based).
Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: +10
I kiss every author who writes it on the MOUTH.
Friends with benefits: +5
I love it when it ends in requited feelings, but I have read it where it turns ugly and stays ugly and I do not ever wanna read that! Please! I'm a big baby.
Sex to feelings: +6
See above pretty much. But also in cases where they were just a hookup and then just fall in love quickly? That's my kryptonite.
Fake dating/relationship: +4
I am alllll for fake dating/relationships, but it absolutely has to lead to the real deal. I can't be edged like that for it to just end. I especially love when it's slow burn for this, so if the slow burn tag isn't there, I may not click it.
Friends to lovers: +2
Something is broken in my brain that this doesn't get me hooked the way any other blank to lovers does.
Found Family: +8
I don't click on stuff BECAUSE of it alone, but it definitely does help with fics I'm on the fence about.
Hurt/Comfort: +10
Yes. I want them to hurt and then be so so comforted. Every time. All the time.
Love Triangle: -8
In any ship, I absolutely hate it. Just be brave and make them polyam instead.
Poly, open relationships: 0
I personally love Steddissy as far as polyam goes, but open relationships are super difficult for me to read. I know that works for a lot of people, but if it's a tag, I'm probably not reading that fic.
Mistaken/hidden identity: 0
For one shots, sure. Anything chaptered, I think it gets into unbelievable territory without very specific other tags with it and I have never seen one that hits the spot.
Monsterfucking: +10
Yeah well. No words necessary.
Pregnancy: 0
I'm never reading a story BECAUSE of the pregnancy tag, but it fits in some cases (the good omegaverse shit if ya know what I mean). I lived it, hated it, don't wanna read too much about it.
Second Chance: +3
I don't know that I have ever read a Steddie second chance fic, but I don't know if this particular trope would make me dive in.
Slowburn: +10
I loooooove a good slow burn. I will read just about anything if it's got a slow burn tag.
Soulmates: +7
Steddie is really the first ship where I was like all in for this trope, so if it's got this tag, I am so so in.
No pressure tags: @wormdebut @wynnyfryd @messessentialist @steves-strapcollection @starryeyedjanai @thefreakandthehair @scarcrossdlvrs @patchworkgargoyle @vecnuthy @corrodedbisexual @stobinesque @legitcookie @matchingbatbites @judasofsuburbia @sidekick-hero @spooky-stevie @inairbinad @simplebtromance @estrellami-1 @zerokrox-blog

I’m glad my expectations for Veilguard were low, especially from a writing perspective, because instead of anger now I only feel disappointment that even my already low bar wasn’t met.
#The writers have whinged/bragged on Twitter for years about how generally G-rated it’s going to be and they were right!#They were right :)#Nothing bad is ever going to happen. Just an amalgamation of inoffensive fantasy tropes. Just ‘keeping it light’ as one of my friends sai#Listen I wasn’t expecting everything to be Grimdark Fantasy but it would have been nice if Weekes et al could have acknowledged#That their audience doesn’t solely consist of sheltered twelve-year-olds#Meaningful conflict? Don’t know her apparently and now the audience isn’t allowed to know her either. A tad rude.#I was really excited for certain companions like Emmerich and Lucanis too.#When the writers said ‘we don’t want people to make decisions that we personally would disagree with’#‘Because that means those players support those bad decisions IRL’ (hello modern version of the moralistic ‘video games cause violence’ bit#I believed them and gave up hope for non-juvenile writing. There’s just something so condescending about it all.#Everything is just spelled out for you. Everything is just told and not shown. I feel like my hand is being held#Because the writers think we’re too stupid for nuance or subtlety and they want to make sure we’re getting their message.#Trust me: we get it. It’s about as subtle as a sledgehammer.#Dragon Age: The Daycare Simulator#Disappointing.#Ten years of waiting for… an incredibly subpar project when I know they can do so much better.#Yet again no meaningful choices. The characters spell everything out for you like you’re a toddler in need of daddy’s guidance.#It all just feels empty.#There’s a lack of real/meaningful roleplay elements.#You can either be Nice; Nice and Stern; Nice and Sarcastic/Jokey. Just. Ugh. So watered down. Bland.

Trope ratings: Bodyswap, Accidental Marriage, aaaaaand Mutual Pining? xoxo MJ/kiwiana-writes
HELLOOOOOO.
Bodyswap: LMAO you're very clever sending me one I'm currently writing. I do love body swap fics of all kinds, so probably a solid A? I enjoy the awkwardness of characters having to inhabit someone else's body, and it often makes for some good physical comedy. Plus the moments of 'oh no, they're too hot how am I supposed to deal with this'.
Accidental marriage: I don't think I've actually read that many of these? I assume most of them are Vegas fics, which I can kind of take or leave, so I guess a C. They don't draw me in, but they can be fun.
Mutual pining: MY BELOVED. A+++ 105%. If pining is delicious, mutual pining is 10x as sweet. I once said almost all of my fics are mutual pining even if we only see one side pining, and I stand by that. It's mutual pining even if one of them doesn't know it. Sub-trope of mutual pining while fucking is also incredible. Mutual pining is the GOAT.
Send me a fic trope and I'll grade it

How abouuuuut Red String of Fate/Soulmate AU's?
Trope Rating Time
Soulmate AU
No | rather not | I dunno | I guess | Sure | Yes | FUCK yes | Oh god you don’t even know
Not to be aromantic and asexual on main, but something just being a soulmate AU isn't enough for me. Is there a polycule? Can it be platonic (Eight Is Such An Excellent Number; Legends of Chima)? Did a small child rewrite existence so they can be happy in another time and another place (Better Worlds, Better Lives; Magic The Gathering)? Is there political tensions and the soulmate stuff is just a complication in an already complicated situation (Tales of Chima series; Legends of Chima by yours truly)?
I enjoy loving deconstructions or fun twists to the trope more than just playing it straight.
Thanks for dropping in, Eboni!

rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic? -10 -> very dissuaded 0 - don’t care either way +10 -> very enticed nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged. Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
Age gap: -2
tbh I don't mind an age gap unless it's huge and/or the younger person is way too young when the relationship starts, that's icky
other than that I don't particularly care hah
Codependency: +4
depends - a bit is fine, but not like unhealthy levels haha
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +8
see above lol - if done right, amazing, love it (also, my buddie always ends up at least a little bit possessive, idk, i can't help it haha)
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): +10
adore it
Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: +8
used to be more into it, but still love it
Friends with benefits: +10
YES, and with mutual pining too? perfection
Sex to feelings: +10
Fake dating/relationship: +10
one of absolute faves, love it so much (even finally wrote one and it was so fun lol)
Friends to lovers: +10
used to be kinda meh about it, now it's my shit (I blame buddie)
Found Family: +10
one of faves
Hurt/Comfort: +5
I don't seek it out, but I'll read it if I'm in the mood
Love Triangle: -8
so sick of these, sns, just make them all date each other
Poly, open relationships: +6
haven't read that many, but I do like those haha
Mistaken/hidden identity: 0
just bc I don't think I've ready any? idk
Monsterfucking: +8
listen... after venom I went so into symbrock on Ao3 lol (pretty sure they're my only ship for this trope so far tho)
Pregnancy: 0
don't seek it out, and haven't read that many, it's whatever
Second Chance: +1
depends, don't actively seek it out
Slowburn: +9
the. best.
Soulmates: +6
really depends, but generally they're fun I guess

ive seen a lot of people say that a shadow focused movie would have to be rated pg 13 and theres no way of making it appropriate for a kid audience. and idk i have to disagree. yeah the story is probably gonna involve darker subject matter than the first two if it takes a lot of stuff from the games but i think whether or not its pg or pg 13 depends on how much is shown. there have been a few different portrayals of maria's death over the years but none of them are particularly graphic and what happened to her is mostly just implied rather than outright shown in detail. i think they could easily just have a shot of a soldier holding up a gun then cut to shadow as the gunshot sound plays and then cut to maria who is visibly injured but with little to no blood showing and get away with a pg rating. not saying a pg 13 rating is impossible but i dont think its an inevitable thing that has to happen in order to portray shadow's story correctly either
#also i think a lot of people are forgetting that sonic adventure 2 is rated e10+#which. yeah thats more of an older kids sort of thing. but still for kids either way#if they could get away with putting all that stuff in a kids game in the first place they can get away with it in a movie too#also how many disney movies are there where some little kids parent dies. hell even the first sonic movie did that trope#again they can get away with it under a pg rating if they dont get too graphic with it. which they didnt do in the first place#plus its not even the violence and stuff that makes maria's death so impactful#its shadow's reaction and how that event completely changes the course of his life that does

More tropes for the rating!! Enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, and kidfics 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks, friend!! I really love doing these lmao And literally just in time, my CEU starts now!
Enemies to Lovers - B - I like it. I'm not usually in the mood for it but I'll read it, especially if it's humorous, maybe some lite angst
Friends to Lovers - A+ - One of my favorite tropes. I love writing it, I will actively seek it out. A++ if it's CHILDHOOD friends to lovers. Cannot get enough. I love when characters have a whole history as they develop into a romantic relationship 🥺
Kidfics - A - I enjoy a good kidfic. I love exploring and reading about my favorites becoming parents and seeing what that would be like. Maybe some lite angst, but I mostly like how soft and tender these fics usually are.

Fanfiction trope: There was only one bed.
Hard C. It’s really difficult for me to enjoy… unless done well. The Court Jester (1955) starring Danny Kaye and Glynis Johns did it very well, albeit in a campy, humorous manner. (They were sleeping the night in a cottage with a leaky roof… and the only dry bed-space happened to be right beside each other, basically cuddled together. They reluctantly squished together, but were both fully conscious of doing so before falling asleep—which is way more realistic imo and was also hilarious). But the typical “there was only one bed” is often so cliched of them having (often super forced) chemistry and they feel too awkward because they’re denying their attraction, only for them to wake the following morning entwined in each other, totally (unbelievably) content and undisturbed from this abnormality to their sleep patterns. *major eye roll*
I myself have zero objections in writing it for my own ships in fanfic (and my own original WIP canons) but it just has to be a *certain* way before I can find any joy in it. Thank you for the ask!! ☺️
