Personal HC: I think they all knew each other as kids and made most of their music then, but Branch quit when he turned grey. Branch was only a ghostwriter for Kismet once he got his colors back until TBT happened and he performed with them again!

Borrowers au idea

In this au branch was taken by chef instead of his grandmother fortunately he was able to escaped captivity and now lives inside the castle walls like a borrower! He slowly made a home there and helped free any trolls he came across which led to a small group of trolls following him this group is known as kismet! Over time their small community grew into a colony, secretly hiding away in the place where Bergman’s would least expect them.
