What's the most embarrassing thing that's happened to you while riding a motorcycle or horse?

I’m an awkward fuckin klutz and do nothing but embarrass myself constantly 🥲

On the bike: dropping the sportster I almost bought off my dad as my very first road bike, at a standstill, in an open parking lot, because I had just come to a stop and wasn’t used to forward pegs. Or when my brother & I swapped bikes (I had my street twin & he had a triumph scrambler) leaving a swap meet/bike show and I stalled it like 10 times just trying to leave the parking lot (not my fault entirely that thing wasn’t tuned right) or when I had my ‘78 kz650 and took it way out to Boston for my first Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (and first group ride ever) and kept getting paranoid it was stalling out at all the red lights and I just couldn’t tell over the roar of all the other bikes so I kept revving it in the 98F heat and overheated it and my buddy and I had to fall behind the pack at one of the stops so it could cool down…..

Horses: idk I’ve had some pretty dumb or stupid falls but that’s just a part of working with these animals that have a mind of their own, I honestly can’t think of any particularly embarrassing ones (they all seemed embarrassing when I was a kid but looking back now I’m like 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 wins Indian Motorcycle of The Year 2024

The Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) for 2024 has been announced, and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 secured this prestigious title. It was followed by the Triumph Scrambler 400X and the KTM 390 Duke in second and third place respectively.

The Himalayan 450 was part of seven motorcycles that were selected for the final jury round. Among these were bikes from various segments- modern-classic, sports bike, street naked and adventure as well. And interestingly five out of seven contenders were from the 400-500 cc category.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 : IMOTY

The Indian Motorcycle of the Year is a highly esteemed award, paralleling the Indian Car of the Year, and is adjudicated by a panel of seasoned journalists from prominent magazines and media outlets.

The Himalayan 450 weighs 196kg, a few kgs lighter than the 411 while the fuel tank capacity is increased to 17 litres.

The pricing of the Himalayan is attractively positioned, ranging from Rs 2.69 lakh to Rs 2.84 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). This competitive pricing adds to the allure of the Himalayan, making it an enticing choice for motorcycle enthusiasts looking for both performance and value.

While these prices will stay firm until the 31st of December, 2023, Royal Enfield plans to hike it from the 1st of January, 2024. Buyers are likely to pay up to Rs. 10,000 extra for the all-new Himayalan after the price hike in January 2024.

New Triumph Showroom Opening in Edinburgh

The rejuvenated dealership, Edinburgh Triumph, reopened on Saturday 22nd July 2023, as the showroom becomes a part of the new Triumph retail concept. A whole host of activities took place on Saturday 22nd July to celebrate the dealer’s official re-opening. To celebrate, the dealership had some special bikes on display including the TE-1 prototype, Street Triple 765 Moto2TM edition and the Scrambler 1200 XE featured in the 25th James Bond film No Time To Die. Special guests included representatives from the IAM road smart team, Motorcycle Law Scotland, and The Curvy Riders.

Guests were able to take a behind the scenes look at the new workshop, take in the live music and complementary food and drink throughout the day. The Edinburgh Triumph dealership is a significant presence in Scotland’s Triumph network. After Triumph’s rebirth in October 1990, Two Wheels Co-Founder Andrew Winton was excited at the prospect of owning and retailing Triumph bikes. Later that year Triumph set out to recruit a dealer network and in January 1991 Two Wheels became one of Triumph’s first dealers.
