Map of werewolf witch trials
by subthings2
Mapping the location of 223 witch trials that included accusations of turning into a wolf, mostly based on Lorey's online list (just under 200 listed). Blécourt gives a few corrections to Lorey's list, Klaniczay has 13 Hungarian trials, and Madar, Metsvah and Winkler collectively give 14 Estonian trials; Metsvah says there are 30 recorded in Estonia in total, but data on the rest weren't provided. When a location has multiple trials, the crosses form a circle around the city so as to not overlap - this is most obvious for Tallinn, Riga, and Sopron.
The initial point was to visualise how the trials spread over time, but what it also makes really obvious is how tightly clustered most of them are - this matches how regional the witch trials in general were, but also that beliefs in werewolves weren't evenly spread across Europe; hence the lack of anything in Great Britain, Basque Country, but weirdly also Scandinavia where southern Sweden is known for having a decent number of werewolves in its folklore.
Finally, after going through all of Lorey's descriptions, there's a few that stood out that I wanted to share (machine translated from German):
1619 Tonnis Steven von Grevenstein, shepherd in Kallenhardt (Electoral Cologne Office of Rüthen). “Out of pain and unbearable torment, I had to say that I was a magician and a Wehrwolf, but God in heaven knows that everything is a lie and I have never seen a devil in my life.”
1652 Wilhelm Scheffern, shepherd from Metterich (di Metternich near Münstermaifeld, Kurtrier). One of the reasons he was talked about was because - in contrast to his successors - there were never any losses due to wolf attacks during his time as a shepherd. "It is entirely believed that the defendant could turn himself into a werewolf" (6th count) and "that he ... once made himself invisible in the field" (point 15). However, previously in points 2 and 3 "that his "The father was burned because of the vice" and "that the defendant's sisters were burned years ago because of the vice of magic." (Court verdict not received; according to Krämer, however, probably executed.)
1661 Cuno Jung, a shepherd from Westerburg, had not defended himself strongly enough against being called a werewolf. Because his parents were already under suspicion and his sister had been executed as a witch, he spoke out against the witchcraft trials. He also refused to take part in an execution as a lay judge. He once even tried to buy his way out as an observer at a witch trial. Executed in Westerburg.
there's also the WAR WLF of Lemgo, featuring this funky little guy that's also had several people write about the rather unfunky little trial
the single case aaaall the way up in Finland is Erkki Juhonpoika

In a world where all of the tragedy that springs from Ned coming to kings landing doesn't happen and their kids were able to grow up with both parents, Do you think Ned and Catelyn would have allowed their children to marry for love provided it was with a socially suitable westerosi nobleman/woman?
Keep in mind that the Westerosi aristocracy generally does not favor marriages made purely, or even primarily, for love as opposed to social/political/military advantage. Keep in mind that Ned and Catelyn had both entered into their marriage out of duty and responsibility to politico-military alliances rather than pure emotion (though they did of course come to love each other deeply as well.) Keep in mind that while Ned was certainly taken aback by the idea of Sansa being betrothed at only 11, both he and Catelyn (at least initially) agreed to the idea of Sansa eventually marry Joffrey (with Catelyn emphasizing that Joffrey as "crown prince, and heir to the Iron Throne". Keep in mind that after acknowledging the need for Sansa to marry Joffrey, Ned added that Arya would need to "[learn] the ways of a southron court" specifically because "[i]n a few years she [would] be of an age to marry too" (and that Catelyn, not long afterward, would agree to a betrothal between Arya and Elmar Frey for purely political reasons). Keep in mind that while Sansa naively insisted on her love for Joffrey as an argument against leaving King's Landing, Ned maintained his plan to have the betrothal broken off and Sansa marry someone else. Keep in mind that Catelyn's second and third reactions upon learning of Robb's marriage for love were shock and dismay that Robb had married Jeyne when he had already "pledged another".
Given all of that, I think Ned and Catelyn would have looked for politically advantageous marriages for their children, rather than simply allowing their children to marry whomever (even among blue bloods) their hearts desired. Which is not to say that I think Ned and Catelyn would have cruelly shoved their children into facially unhappy marriages as soon as possible, of course. Indeed, while Catelyn certainly understood the grave political error in Robb's decision to marry Jeyne Westerling, she, Catelyn, also tried to be gracious and kind to Jeyne herself; likewise, in Ned's response to Sansa, telling her that she would not marry Joffrey, Ned said that he would "make [her] a match with a high lord [who was] worthy of [her], someone brave and gentle and strong" - in other words, prioritizing emotional suitability as well as aristocratic status. However, while Ned and Catelyn certainly loved their children, and I think wanted them to be happy, I think both would have recognized that their children were Starks, heirs to some of the most eminent Westerosi aristocratic bloodlines in the country, and therefore not entirely free to marry wherever they chose personally.

7 for Raivis 👀, 10, 16, 45
7. What is an interesting fact about the 2nd oldest brother Raivis?
He has the deepest voice out of all the brothers and he is a very good singer. He has no interest in singing as a hobby or a career, and he probably doesn't even care about how good of a singer he is, but he does enjoy music, and the LoA loves his voice. Whenever they go to the temple for a worship ceremony, the High Family would sit together and Raivis would sing the hymns once in a while (more so when he was younger / before the War). It always reminds her of when he was younger; it makes him look not only beautiful and fae, but also peaceful.
10. Who do you think has the best relationship with Lucien? Who has the worst relationship with Lucien? Explain why and how for both
All of the brothers have different relationships with Lucien at certain moments in time. It all depends on their age and situation. I would say when he was little, he had the best relationship with Eris. It fluxuated from time to time: they grew apart, then grew closer again, and went back and forth. But Lucien clung to Eris when he was little, I would say until he was 8ish. Eris removed his mask for him and taught him things, read to him, allowed him to be the little kid, but when Lucien got older he kind of put on his mask to protect him. I feel like there is a bit of resentment in their relationship.
16. Rank the brothers from Most Fucked Up to Least Fucked Up by Beron
This is one of my favorite questions 😂😭 they're all fucked up in their own ways but I would say the order goes from:
(Most fucked up) Raivis. Was beaten a lot as a kid / adult (for reasons you'll see in my fic👀) , probably has the most expectations put on him after Eris. Has a lot of resentment for his brothers, especially Eris; but also has some self-hatred and pushes him away fro being good, because thinks that being cruel is the best way to survive in the Forest House. Very very manipulative and cruel at times, and he sees kindness as weakness
Maybe Eris? He very much knows good from bad but he still wears his mask, which I think can fuck up the mind a little. Because he also shoves away some parts of himself to survive (gay thoughts are repressed for sureeeee). He is also pretty paranoid since he is always trying to be two steps ahead.
Jora. Not really in a fucked up sense, but he is the 2nd youngest brother and was always shit on by Beron and his eldest brothers. Has a lot to live up to and he tries really hard to get ahead but always falls short. Has a lot of self-hatred which makes him very mean and sad and desperate, and he throws his frustrations o Lucien, who is the only brother who's younger than him
Elmar. I am veryyyyy excited for his little side plot in ACOEAS, I hope I put it together well 👀 becuase it's very fucked up and sad. He also has a lot to live up to, and he is very strong and powerful but easily manipulated
Galeti. The 4th oldest brother, and as a middle brother, he's kind of forgotten about. He's very clever and smart, and Beron can't find a lot of flaws in him and he doesn't see him as a threat to his crown becuase Galeti doesn't give a shit about politics. He is still fucked in the head though because Elmar, the 3rd oldest brother and the one who's closest in age, hates him and beats on him a lot. Plus he fought in the war and that can fuck anyone up. But he's pretty easygoing and parties (drinks a lot) to feel better
(least fucked up) Aatos. He is also fucked up, don't get me wrong, but he's probably the most innocent of the brothers. 3rd youngest brother so he's in the middle and Beron doesn't pay him any mind. He had some resentment for this but Eris was a clever big brother had helped him find things that bring him joy. He is almost always out of the Forest House and helps train the smokehounds, which is a valuable talent but not really seen as something that would earn him power in the political ladder.
45. Open question: name your favorite headcanon for any of the Vanserras!
Lmao I love how so many people make two of the brothers twins! Elmar and Galeti aren't exactly twins but they are born 3 years apart which is basically twins for High Fae since they're so rare. And they are alwayssss bickering and fighting with each other. My two favorite stories are about how Elmar shot Galeti in the ear and Galeti gave him a scar to match. The other is Galeti and Elmar still fight about the infamous stolen knife that “somehow” ended up in the Forest House River (it was Elmar’s knife and Galeti threw it in, but Galeti pretends he has no idea what happened to it and always says Elmar is just being stupid and misplaced it)
#this is so fun!#I'm glad people are enjoying this game as much as I am haha#lucien vanserra#eris vanserra#lady of autumn#beron vanserra#vanserra family#vanserra brothers#acotar headcanons#a court of embers and sunlight

Lady Arya Frey Née Stark
Youngest sister of King Robb Stark, the first of his name, King in the North and King of the Trident and the Vale. She was believed to be have been killed in the failed coup of her father Lord Eddard Stark but survived and was later ransomed back to her brother and mother by Sandor Clegane.
In 305 AC she was married to Ser Elmer Frey, the youngest son of Lord Walder Frey, Lord of the Twins. She tried to fight against the match but due to the delicate political situation at the time, her hand was forced. It is rumoured that while initially her new husband was happy to be betrothed and wed to the princess it is said that he soon grew tired of and angry of her wild nature and turned his attention to wine and serving girls…
An excerpt from the writings of Maester Samwell Tarly.

TW - physical violence description, violence against women, choking, abuse, physical harm, injury
Vollrath, Elmar, & Baldur discover what happened to Mahala when she was alone in the office with Jonathan...
Before he sat down at his desk, Vollrath took a bottle of water over to Mahala, who told him she was now just feeling tired. Baldur and Elmar watched as he said something softly to her and kissed her forehead, then closed his suit jacket over her again. During it all, she hadn’t moved. Jonathan was lucky she was alive, they were both sure. Vollrath was never gentle with anything, yet he was handling her like she was made of the most fragile mercury glass. There was a look on his face, when he looked at her, that they had never seen before. Since both had known him since they were all children, that told them a lot about what was going on with him. Neither had a doubt now that she WAS the Lioness. “Okay, let’s see what really happened in here.” Vollrath said as he took a seat in his office chair, and letting out a heavy sigh. Baldur and Elmar grabbed chairs from the still overturned conference table and rolled them over, sitting so they could see too. None of them were particularly looking forward to having to watch her be attacked, but they all had to know what happened before the Council meeting. So, Vollrath hit play on the downloaded video, and they all waited.
They watched as the recording showed the three of them leaving, then Mahala unsteadily making her way to the bathroom. The heavy exhale from Vollrath had his two friends looking over at him, a bit nervously. He was obviously still upset at the way she had staggered as if drunk, leftover side effects of his anger. The guilt on his face was an unusual sight, and was one more clue that there was definitely something going on between Vollrath and Mahala that they had never witnessed before between him and another woman. He was now holding his chin in his hand, obviously tense already and nothing had happened; they hoped that when it did, he would be able to contain it.
It was shortly after that point in the video when Jonathan entered the frame. He sat down what looked like some reports on Vollrath’s desk, as he said he had. Then he seemed to be looking for something on the desk, moving some files and looking through others. There was some more shuffling of papers that were randomly on the desk until he froze, that was when the door to the private office bathroom opened and Mahala exited, still a little shaky and with a hand to her temple. The audio hadn't been downloaded but from the gestures, there had been some kind of conversation about who she was. The fact she had on Vollrath’s suit jacket apparently did not make it obvious she was somehow connected to him. Jonathan’s head started shaking and he grabbed both of Mahala’s upper arms and slammed her into the wall. There was a slight crack as Vollrath had a death grip on the arms of his office chair, and something plastic had broken. “Easy big guy, look over there. She’s fallen asleep, nice and easy. She’s fine.” Elmar tried to reassure his friend, keeping his voice calm. Or maybe he was reassuring himself, he was no less enraged. The devastation in the room, and the way he’d just seen Jonathan handle the woman, concerned him, a lot.
The video continued on to her trying to get away, obviously saying something. Mahala was once again slammed into the wall, then Jonathan had let go of one of her arms to choke her. There was about 5 seconds of that, with all three of them growing increasingly tense and enraged, and they watched as she put her hands on Jonathan’s chest and shoved once, and the second time it was like the room exploded in a white light. When the camera focused once more, the room was how they had found it when they rushed in.
“How did she do that?” Baldur asked incredulously. If she was untrained as Vollrath had said, how could she have commanded that much power into someone else? He was still staring at the screen where Vollrath had frozen it, trying to wrap his head around what he’d just seen. Nothing was making sense.
“She is untrained, she was terrified, and she probably didn’t mean to. Think about it. Her mind would have been focused on getting him away from her. She’s been in the company of the three of us this morning for a while. Three powerful warlocks, one being the Master of a whole Coven. It is going to call to her dormant powers, which are damn strong, Bal. Depending how much time she spent with Vol last night, could be a damn strong pull by now. Not to mention whatever residual magic was floating around from Vol losing his temper over jealousy, and then having to help her feel better.” Elmar laid out everything he was thinking. He waited for Vollrath or Baldur to correct him if he got something wrong.
“She slept in my arms on my couch last night.” Vollrath caught both of them raising their brows as they looked at him. “You can judge for yourselves our level of affection and how close we were. So, with the two of you both around her this morning, I’m sure that Elmar is correct. Which is why her training has to start immediately. It saved her life, but she could hurt someone on accident as well.” He looked at the two of them in turn before scrubbing a hand over his face and up into his hair.
Baldur considered it all. “She definitely shouldn’t be alone. Elmar or I should stay with her during the Council meeting tonight. You have to talk to them. The video will speak for itself, I’ll call down to security to have them get us a copy with audio. We need to protect her till you leave for your cabin with her. She doesn’t seem the kind to attack someone else, but Jonathan has friends that might not listen to the truth. Another incident like this one, even with provocation and you know that someone will be out for blood.”
Elmar nodded in agreement. She also needed to be protected from anyone that Jonathan might know that would seek retribution. She had not acted wrong, but others might not see that. “I’ll stay with her. Bal, you figured out what was wrong first. You can speak to the bruises we saw. If they want to hear from me, they can send you or Vol in. I can’t add much that you two wouldnt be better for. But if they come for her, they aren’t going to fare well.” His tone and expression were serious. There were times that he didn’t trust the Council and this was one.
“El, don’t start a fight where there isn’t one.” Baldur warned. He knew exactly why he felt that way. “Vol and I got this. No one is going to come for her. This isn’t the same situation as your sister.” The growl that came from Elmar told him that he might have stepped on a nerve he shouldn’t have, but he didn’t flinch. “It’s not. Neither Vol or I are going to let them come for her. You just keep her company and make her tea, if she needs it, with some lemon. Her throat has got to be killing her.” He glanced in her direction, concern evident across his face.
“NO. ONE. is going to come for her.” Vollrath stated absolutely. “We are not going to mention the level of familiarity between her and I, nor that she spent last night in my company. She came here this morning to meet with the three of us after I confronted her on my property last night preparing to do a ritual she is not trained in. I convinced her to hear the three of us out about her abilities, and the ritual she clearly did not understand. That is all that they need to know. Or do you gentlemen feel differently?” Vollrath looked at both of them, as they agreed with him. He too knew the Council often stopped listening when they heard something that they thought was the “real story”, and were wrong. Limiting the story to just what happened in his office would prevent that. “How do we explain her having your jacket?” Elmar asked. That was the only flaw he could see in the explanation that Vollrath was suggesting. “Everyone knows Vol’s temper. She wasn’t understanding and accepting what was being said, and he started to lose his temper out of frustration. She didn’t know about shielding and he didn’t think about that. He caused her to pass out. We’ll leave out the real reason: she didn’t understand that you and I were flirting with her just to piss off the big guy, and Vol was actually jealous and about to hit one of us.” Baldur gave a tight smile. Not one of any of their finer moments and he would be happy to leave it out from anyone ever hearing about it.
“Yes, that would be the better explanation for that. And we WERE making her tea so you both could tell me what an asshole I am, and how I need to control my temper. So, it’s not like they will question that.” Vollrath sighed. He still felt guilty about that, and now more so that she had been hurt when he left her alone in the office.

Happy WBW! What's the humor like in your world? Are most people dark in their humor or like the light and fluffy of it all? Does sarcasm rule or are set-up punchline formulas the way to go? How do your characters' individual humors factor in?
The Imperium Chronicles - SARCASM....SARCASM EVERYWHERE!!! And dark humor...lots of it. There are a lot of framily relationships in @theimperiumchronicles, so there is a lot of sibling/family type teasing of one another. Very little happy fluffy bunny shit.
@behindthesemasks - Lots of sarcasm. Ambrose has dry humor. Mel has a sibling type relationship that develops with her team, so there is teasing there. They can get lighthearted and stupid at times. Not everything is heavy in their world.
@bendingthelaws - Sarcasm is there, but not as much as the other two. Not as much dark humor due to the subject matter. Abby is just fluffy bunnies to begin with, so her humor tends to be like that. Serena is a medical examiner, so she can get a little dark, but it's not mean. Keegan, Kal, Karsten, Dominic, and Colt tease each other like brothers.
@devil-in-the-details-ay - the teasing is very light, Astaroth is careful with Yara's feelings. Yara is going to find her true parents and a brother. Her relationship with her brother is going to be tight, but they are going to have a very sarcastic and teasing relationship. He and Astaroth will too. Astaroth is very sarcastic to most people.
@magical-mistakes-vm - Vollrath and Balor tend to be heavier on sarcasm than anyone else. Balor also loves to tease in a light hearted way, except for Vollrath...then it can get a little mean. Baldur and Elmar tend to keep it lighter. There are times their humor can get a little dark due to the subject matter. Mahala tends to be more sarcastic, and she and Balor get a more sibling relationship where they tease like it.
@princess-of-thieves-id - Arik teases Inara as a form of flirting. His teasing of Diyan is more sarcastic and biting. Diyan is sarcastic back, but is now going to be avoiding teasing Inara till things calm down. Inara just teases Arik, and it is DEFINITELY flirting.
@tapperhet-em - SARCASM RULES The four guys all look at each other as brothers. Elio and Lorcan look at Meeri as a sister. Einar is in love with her, so his teasing is flirtatious. Tieran is having an internal battle and normally fucks any attempt at humor up right now. Meeri tries to keep it light and fun with everyone. Not necessarily bunnies and fluffiness, but not dark either. Definitely everyone is sarcastic often.

Are the sounds and acoustic signals whales make similar to human language? Biologists agree the animals communicate with one another. This film takes a journey into the depths of the oceans to decipher the language of the orcas using AI. Killer whales live in small pods. Within these family groups they communicate with one another using their own sound dialects. With the help of artificial intelligence, scientists are now looking for repeated patterns which would indicate that orcas have a language model. A team of researchers headed by Professor Elmar Noeth and Rachael Cheng from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg spent three years collecting data on the movements and vocalization of various orca pods in the Pacific. Their aim was to investigate a possible connection between the patterns of the killer whales‘ calls and their behavior. Using special microphones, they captured the underwater sounds and behaviors of these marine mammals. Then they tried to determine the whales‘ position and classify their calls. It’s a first step towards solving the mysteries of whale song. Using artificial intelligence to decipher unfamiliar communications systems is not without its difficulties. However, it’s already clear that AI will transform our ideas about highly communicative species in the coming years.

Ok so update on my Shadow Dragon play-through: That shit is getting put on hold lmao, because instead I’ve started playing Fire Emblem Fates again after seeing a particular someone rant about it, and because I want to try a strategy I’ve always been interesting . . .
That being only using captured units!
Basically for everyone that dosent know fates, you can capture generic enemies during fights and then like, just start using them as regular units. They suck a LOT more than regular units though, so their use is kinda questionable. However, since I love fucking around and finding out, and also imposing personalities on faceless goons, my whole play-through rn is basically dedicated to trying to use my captured units as much as I can with little playable character intervention.
I’m at chapter 14 in Birthright (I’ve been using a lot of scouting missions though sorry) and the current entourage is:
Wenzel, a dark mage - He was the first unit I captured so I kinda think of him as the team leader and strategist for this particular platoon of captured units. He does BIG DAMAGE, and I love him so much for one shotting bitches.
Konrad, a mercenary - Very reliable kinda-tank! I wish he would do a little more, but I’m content with what he’s got going on rn. I imagine he’s like the second in command to Wenzel, very passionate and upfront.
Elmar, a cavalier - He needs to stop getting one stat point a level up or else I will bench his ass. But also he’s a really helpful tank, pairs up very nicely. Quiet type, keeps his head low, but dosent take shit.
Ludwig, an outlaw - I didn’t expect to use him as much as I do, but CRIT KING!!! His accuracy rate is actually dog shit, but it dosent matter when he’s just critting everyone. The wiley one on the team, tries to be a leader like Wenzel but isn’t great at it. A bit of a jokester too.
Hajime, a ninja - The true team mom, I love shurikan support so much we would not be where we are without his debuffs. Also has some crits! He can seem a little serious, but is always down for shenanigans. Like, he’s reserved, but once you know him he’s very friendly. I also imagine he helped built and looks after the one puppet automaton we have at the castle.
Virgil, a cavalier - I didn’t expect to use him, but then some units died, so I brought him out and oh shit he’s great!! Super great tank, him and his guard naginata carry. I imagine he trained (and still trains) under Elmar, still has much to learn but picks up things quickly, a bit of a sensitive soul too.
Tamaki, a samurai - He’s here! He’s honestly just filling ranks, but he’s been kinda a surprise assassin and crit machine, secured some important kills! I’m still figuring out his personality, but I just think he’s pretty enthusiastic! I imagine he has a bit of rivalry with Konrad as sword users, and that him, Ludwig, Hajime, and Virgil form a friend group of younger recruits together!
Komachi, a shrine maiden - Captured in chapter 11, she’s immediately made herself invaluable by being the first generic staff user I’ve had. It feels so nice being able to have everyone at full hp all the time now. She’s very brave and sociable, I imagine she helps tend to the puppet with Hajime. Just super reliable, gets along with the ‘older’ squad (Wenzel, Konrad, Elmar) but primarily hangs out with the younger squad
Yukari, a shrine maiden - Also captured in chapter 11, I was originally only gonna use one shrine maiden and just captured both to see who had the cooler name, but then some units died so she’s here too! I imagine she’s Komachi’s younger sister, and while they do get along, she has that angry younger sister energy about her. On the quieter/gruff side, actually a little artistic, but when you get her going she absolutely goes! Also hangs out with the younger squad when not by herself, and is currently learning under Wenzel.
Edsel, a wyvern rider - Was literary just picked up because chapter 13 is absolute bitch without a flier. He’s already made an impression though! Very brash and good natured, charges right into things and hopes for the best! I’m hoping he sticks around
And that’s the current team, however there have been… casualties.
Fritz, a wyvern rider - the second unit ever captured, he died in a training mission literally right after I recruited Tamaki. I imagine he was a quiet type, and had a very strong bond with Wenzel, Konrad, Virgil and…
Kenshi, a ninja - Died in chapter 11, bitch ass map, because of a wyvern lord. I imagine he was a very accomplished ninja and was training Hajime. He was falling off, but still, he was so helpful for my first ninja
And then there’s Jinpei (samurai) and Sven (wyvern rider) who both died like. Immediately. Jinpei died the second I tried using him, while Sven got to warm the bench before I tried using him when I realized chapter 13 would be impossible without a flier, but then he died, so I got Edsel. It’s ok, I decided to give the personality of a traitor anyway?
But yeah, that’s the run and units so far!!! Love these fuckers

Glasgow Ch QF: Paul Jubb [Q] def. Henry Searle [WC] 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 Match Stats
📸 ATP official website
H. Searle tried to sustain his pacing in this match, but P. Jubb's initiatives from both the baseline (through his passes) and the net (his volleys) started to pay off, pressing H. Searle's game until the latter ran out of answers in the third set. Maintaining his aggression this way, P. Jubb managed to create 5 opportunities to break, most of which came from the first and the third set as he tried to out-pace H. Searle, whose break point conversion rate was 100% in the last two sets.
Besides, P. Jubb confirmed his solid service games throughout the three sets. Despite scoring 2 less aces than H. Searle (5 to 7), the former still stood out by having 12% more first serve points than H. Searle, with a 82% winning percentage. Furthermore, H. Searle's second serve vulnerability was visible despite P. Jubb double-faulting quintuple times, usually due to his rushed backhand follow-ups. Consequently, H. Searle's second serve winning points faded 19% behind P. Jubb in that regard.
In his first Challenger-level semifinal appearance since the Charlottesville Challenger 2022, P. Jubb will face Elmar Ejupovic, who advanced to the semifinals due to qualifier Stuart Parker's withdrawal. Both players might have had the necessary service game and their baseline games to stand out in this match, but it could be interesting to see how either player handled their pacing to stand out in this match. A fun one, probably!

This is from a future chapter of @magical-mistakes-vm
"Holy fuck! Did you read these, Balor?" Elmar looked over, his color pailing slightly. He had heard of such contracts, but had never read one. Even in what he had heard, it had never been one such as what was before him.
"No, I didn't get a chance. I was focused on making sure she didn't say her father's name. I'm going to guess we are not talking the standard arranged marriage contract?" What had old man Codona done? Balor had a sinking feeling that he didn't really want to know.
"No. Not at all. Seems her grandfather was into magical eugenics." He saw Balor’s brows draw together and his eyes narrow. He wasn't looking at Elmar, more in his general direction. "What? You know something. Your brother gets the same look."
"On the other side of the room on the dark wood table. There were ledgers of all the major families in our Coven and two others. I thought something was weird that he was tracking all the genealogical data so meticulously, but that would make sense if you're trying to make a super witch or warlock. Keep matching up the strongest. Eliminate the weak bloodlines so that they never reproduce." There was a sense of dread in Balor’s voice. He was not enjoying the pieces of the puzzle that he was putting together. "Who was Mahala to marry, El?"
"The man that is now her father's second in command of their Coven, Lenz." Elmar’s face was grim. The warlock in question was just as powerful as any of the four of them. The situation seemed to just be getting worse. "I mean this thing is a piece of trash, but it lines out spells to be cast at the betrothal, at the wedding, and even on the wedding NIGHT." Elmar tried to think of how to tell Balor how bad it was without further upsetting Mahala. "Compliance and submission would no longer be at issue." From the intense frigidity that came to Balor’s expression, Elmar knew the other man understood. "NO ONE can know she's back. We've got to get her into hiding, Balor. Baldur's out trying to keep from shooting Vollrath to calm him down. Let me go talk to them.".

ACoEAS bros are heading on a road trip (modern au)
Where is everyone sitting in the vehicle and who is doing the following:
- controlling/fighting for the Aux cord
- navigating (good or badly) for the driver
- asking to pull over at every fast food they pass
- asleep the entire way
- causing chaos for no reason at all
Okay I feel like it would take them ten hours to get in the car because Raivis and Eris are fighting over who is driving lmao. I think they would eventually solve it by saying Eris can drive there and Raivis can drive back. Aatos volunteered to sit in the passanger seat and navigate but he was sent to the middle seat in the center to sit in between Galeti and Elmar. Lucien ends up being the navigator and tries to be bad but it's useless because Eris already knows where he's going anyways. Lucien would point and scream "YOU MISSED THE EXIT YOU DUMBASS" and Eris would ignore him and snap at him to stop messing around. Lucien would also definitely ask to pull over at every fast food they pass lmao.
Galeti and Elmar are fighting over the aux cord, absolutely. Lucien randomly requests a song to be obnoxious ( he would suggest joke songs like Never Gonna Give You Up or something). After a very loud argument about how Galeti's club music sucks, they are banned from the aux and Aatos takes over.
Jora and Raivis are in the back and it's a very awkward situation because Raivis is just silently reading (he is amazingly not getting car sick) and Jora tries to spark a conversation once in a while but fails every time. He gives up and asks Aatos for the aux, and Aatos is nice and lets him play a few songs (Elmar and Galeti protest this of course) (I feel like Jora loves Taylor Swift idk why and Elmar hates her but Galeti is into it) but then Jora falls asleep to Aatos takes the aux back.
The seat arrangements are very different when Raivis is driving lmao. Raivis allows Jora to navigate and Jora is thrillleddddd by this but he was late to tell Raivis to turn onto an exit and Raivis gets pissed and stops the car and makes Jora switch with Elmar (literally pulls over on the side of the freeway and yells as Jora is taking the walk of shame to the back seat) (Elmar is laughing)
Aatos is fucking tired of the trip and his brothers so he sits in the back seat and falls asleep. Eris, also pissed and tired, sits in the back with him. Which leaves Jora, Galeti, and Lucien in the center seats lmao. Galeti and Lucien share similar music tastes and they spand a large amount of time making fun of Jora (with love, but Jora thinks they're picking a fight).
