Why is 2012 Leo shorter then the 87 turtles? Like I get 12 raph a bit but why is 12 Leo like 2 inches shorter(only using 87 raph cause he’s my fav and he’s the same height as his brothers)

Ok! So, this is specifically the Wormquake Part 2 cameo and the episode 'Trans-Dimensional Turtles'. I can make no claims as to the other crossovers.

Evidence to narrow it down:

Rob Paulson voices Raph- seasons 1-9

Red Sky/ Gets dark- seasons 8-10

Krang is in play- seasons 2-8

Mikey fights with nunchaku- seasons 1-3

This evidence limits the potential range to after season 1 but before season 4.

As the Usagi Yojimbo crossover takes place in season 3 and the Technodome is sent to Dimension X in the finale of that very season, I would like to hypothesize that the episode 'Trans-Dimensional Turtles' and the cameo in 'Wormquake Part 2' occur between seasons 3 and 4 of the 1987 TMNT.

**Upon further inspection, it should be noted that Dimension X is a place where time operates differently and the Casey cameo in Wormquake Part 1 could be spying in on the future after he and April have actually met/ sometime between season 5 and 7???**

Leo has always hated that he dressed differently than his brothers, and has had many outbursts, but this is the first time he's admitted that he wanted to be a boy. Splinter is still new to the idea of trans people but hey, his children are mutated turtles and he was aturned into a rat, he is not concerned about his children's genders and sexualities. He just wants them to be happy

I did kinda want to show Splinter grappling with the idea of Leo being trans, but I have a lot more comics to draw before I get to the main storyline, it is taking way too long and I'm running low on motivation because hardly anyone interacts with these comics

What further supports your HC is that 87 Raph appears to be the only one who reacted to 2012 Raph’s “request”. He understood what he was saying while the others look at their bro like “dude what did your counterpart say??”

I head canon that all Raphs can communicate to one another like this. Purely because I love to picture all of them miming arguments and taunts at one another while on a stealth mission.

Except Rise! Raph, whose mime-threatening to hold each of them up by the napes of their necks (like kittens) if they don’t cut it out.

Leonardo:

The lair was shrouded in a comfortable silence, broken only by the faint hum of machinery and the soft shuffle of feet on the cold concrete floor. But in the almost silence Leonardo found himself unable to concentrate on his meditation that evening. His eyes kept drifting to you, as you moved through the lair. And with every look at you he felt his heart hurt a little.

Things had been strange between you and Leonardo ever since he returned home from South America. Even after the appearance of monsters in New York and the following clash that happened, during Winter’s opening of the trans-dimensional portal. Leo had hoped that with time, things would go back to normal. But after two months, nothing had happened.

Unable to ignore the tension anymore, Leonardo decided it was time to address the unspoken feelings of frustration that lingered in the air. With a subtle nod, he motioned for you to join him in a secluded corner, away from the prying eyes of his brothers. You hesitated for a moment before joining him.

"I've been thinking," he confessed, his voice carrying a weight of both uncertainty and determination. Leonardo took a deep breath, his eyes locking onto yours. "About us. About... well, you know."

You nodded, a mixture of curiosity and anticipation in your gaze. Leonardo's normally composed demeanor wavered slightly. It was as if your eyes sparked something in him. Something he has not deserved before now. And with that, part of his self control disappeared as he closed the distance between you. The normally stoic leader's hand gently cupped your cheek, his thumb brushing lightly against your skin.

The first kiss was a revelation. Leonardo's lips met yours with a tenderness that spoke volumes about the depth of his emotions. Emotions he had been hiding from himself. It was a sweet and genuine expression of his unwavering devotion, a connection that extended beyond the bonds of friendship, and the longing he had held in your emotional absence. After Leonardo’s departure for South America, you and the red turtle had found yourselves in interesting positions. Countless nights were you and him would relax and talk about whatever came to mind. But there had also been nights where Raph came to you, heavy from frustration caused by his brother's departure, needing somewhere he could feel safe and relax, without remembering how his brother had just left him. You became that safe space that Raphael would find himself drawn towards during quiet nights.

Raphael sighed, his breath visible before your eyes in the cool night air, as he muttered, "There's something I gotta get off my chest." The tone of his voice hinted at a depth of emotion that was both surprising and intriguing.

You took his hand as a way to show him reassurance, which prompted Raphael to pull you closer, the proximity revealing a side of him rarely seen. The intensity in his eyes spoke volumes as he met your gaze. You had joined him to assist with a particularly intricate project he had been talking about for ages, and though his mind was usually dedicated to the logic of machines, tonight was different.

As you both tinkered with wires and circuits, an unspoken tension lingered in the air. Donatello stole glances at you, finding it increasingly difficult to concentrate on the task at hand. The time had come to confront the feelings that had taken root within him. Feelings that he had been aware of for quite some time now. But as Donatello watched you work, a thought worked its way into his head. He wasn’t sure what caused this thought, or why he thought now would be a good time. Maybe it was those people over the phone that had mistaken his phone services for something else, that now had caused him to think differently. Or maybe it was a thought he had had for a long time, just waiting for the perfect opportunity.

"There's something I've been wanting to do," he admitted, his voice betraying a mix of nervousness and excitement. You watched curiously as Donatello carefully set aside his tools, turning to face you with a sincerity that was both surprising and endearing.

Cupping your face in his hands, Donatello's eyes, normally filled with the cool glow of intellect, softened with emotion. It caused butterflies to erupt in your stomach. Donatello’s lips met yours in a kiss that felt like a careful exploration - a fusion of logic and affection. It was as if he were decoding the mysteries of love, each touch and movement a testament to the depth of his feelings.

The first kiss marked a shift in the dynamic between you and the tech-savvy turtle. You had found it funny and adoring, stating that Mikey did not need an excuse for a movie night with you. But Mikey needed an excuse. With the intentions he had that night, an excuse was needed. Michelangelo had decided it was time to tell you, his best friends for as long as he could remember, how he felt about you.

The dim glow of the screen cast a soft light on the faces of you and Mikey, creating an atmosphere of relaxation that you had sort after. Mikey on the other hand was having a hard time relaxing. His mind spinning and heart pounding as he thought about how he should tell you.

Halfway through the movie, Michelangelo couldn't contain his excitement and nervousness any longer. With a nervous grin he tried to play off as mischievous, he turned to you, his eyes sparkling with playfulness. "Dude, I've got a radical idea," he exclaimed, his enthusiasm contagious.

You chuckled, wanting to point at his use of the word “radical”. But before you could respond, Michelangelo seized the moment, leaning in for a quick and lighthearted kiss. It was a spontaneous gesture, filled with the exuberance of youth and the joy of shared laughter. The lightness of the kiss mirrored the carefree spirit of the orange clad turtle you have come to love, leaving you both giggling as the movie continued in the background.

The first kiss with Michelangelo was like a burst of confetti - the first of many that would come as a celebration of a friendship evolving into something more. As you sat on the couch, still grinning from ear to ear after giving Mikey a second and third kiss that night, you realized that even in the midst of ninja battles and the responsibilities of their unconventional lives, there was room for simple, joyous moments that brought everyone closer together.

Is it just me, or does it feel like there are several more mutants in the TMNT 2012 universe that the show never talked about? What I mean is, New York can't be the only city where mutants roam around. Unless they picked specifically NY and nowhere else to do their mutations and all that stuff. What if there are mutants from different places? Idk, this thought randomly just appeared in my head.

I was actually thinking about this the other day cause in the season 2 episode The Kraang Conspiracy, Kurtzman shows April and the Turtles his research, explaining the Kraang have been on earth for many MANY years.

With the Kraang being on Earth for this long, you'd think they probably have other bases and are experimenting on mutants in other parts of the world outside of NY but the show never explores that concept. We can assume that NY is their primary location for their studies and experiments (considering that is where their leader Kraang Prime resides and they've suggested Kraang are like a hive mind, like bees with their queen, but with mind control cause all Kraang are just brainwashed Utrom under the control of K!Prime) and NY is where they wish to execute their big plan, but did the writers ever consider that establishing that the Kraang have been here since Ancient Egyptian times that maybe the Kraang aren't actually gone when the Turtles calm they are by season 4-5??? Which btw, there's never an actual conclusion to the Kraang plot, they just disappear after the Triceraton invasion. The last time we see the Kraang species as a whole is in the season 4 ep War for Dimenson X, with the later ep Trans Dimensional Turtles being the last time we see Kraang Sub Prime.

At the same time, the show makes in clear that the Kraang are cowards, whenever facing a threat that can easily over power them, they run away (EX: the Triceratons, instead of fighting back they just ran and hide away to avoid conflict until the Triceratons found them hidding on Earth) So I could assume the Kraang wanted to lay low and only are in NY, maybe they've hopped around to different states and/or countries every few hundred years to avoid being spotted, but theirs still a high chance that some of the Kraang failed/rejected mutant experiments (future ally or foe) are still out there wondering the Earth that the Turtles are unware of.

Writers and artist of TMNT 2012, this gives yall an opening for fun fanfics and even OC making! Make a mutant OC that was created in another part of the world. Its possible in canon that other Kraang bases exist outside of NY. There's potential here!! GO FOR IT! :D

Officially asking your timeline for the 2012 series!

Yeah! Of course here you go:

So this is assuming that the Turtles’ birthday is in the spring, I could of course be wrong, but it seems unlikely it’s a different time.

Okay so first thing you probably notice is that the time line doesn’t start in 2012, it starts in 2011. It’s weird but according to Rocksteady’s résumé, they joined the foot clan in 2013, but they do that in season 3, which should be about 3 years later.

There’s also a few other things, including the fact that Kraang Prime states I believe in season 3 that it has been 2 years since their first invasion. I’m not as certain on that one as someone told me about that, if you have an episode number that’d be great.

If you can prove me wrong on this really weird error I would be genuinely delighted.

So I guess starting with season 1 and 2’s distance, there’s a line between Casey and Raph during the episode The Invasion Part 1 where Casey states it’s been 1 year since the last invasion: (source: turtlepedia.fandom.com)

So that means that season 1 and 2 have to span 2 years. Mikey also states there was a month gap between the first and second season heard in The Mutation Situation: (as in season 2 episode 1, not my comic)

After season 2, stuff starts getting a bit weird. Assuming we ignore the animation error that there is no snow on the ground and the trees have green leaves in early December in Massachusetts, then it’s definitely true that 3 months have passed since December so now it’s March, which makes sense for there to be no snow.

There’s another really odd error in The Croaking, where Michelangelo introduces himself as being 15 years old, when actually he’s 16 almost (or is, depending on their birthday) 17. I figure though that’s probably an error with the script writers and not related to the actual timeline.

Then of course there’s the time travel dilemma. At the end of season 3 it ends with the planet being blown up and they travel back in time an amount that Donnie claims to be 6 months given the Earth’s position in comparison to the sun.

However, there are a few issues to this. One being that in the episode Trans-Dimensional Turtles(season 4, ep 10) the turtles go back in time. The time is unclear until the end when a Kraathatrogon pops out of a portal that is the same one that they threw into a portal back in the episode The Manhattan Project(episode 13, s2)way back in season 2. Unfortunately this means that either A) all of season 2 and 3 covers 6 months, which is definitely not true, or B) Donnie was wrong about how long they were actually in Space.

Now the tricky part is the question “Well if Donnie was wrong, then how long were they ACTUALLY in space.” Now I made the guess that maybe it’s more like 1 and a half years because that way Donnie was still right, he didn’t realize how many times the Earth had made a full circle, so it’s more plausible.

I have some issues with how he guessed 6 months, because they are right next to the Earth, but the Earth has an elliptical orbit around the sun, so 6 months would be half a circle, so unless they were also following the earth in it’s orbit, it would actually need to be 1 or 2 years—one or two full circles to the same position—but whatever I guess. Diagram of what I mean:

The other issue is that yes, now we have a point of reference in the first timeline, but where was that in the Space timeline. There’s not a clear answer, but given that there are 14 episodes in the space arc, The Manhattan Project taking place at episode 10, and the fact that the turtles bemoan the fact that the last few episodes are actually incredibly far spaced because of travel time, I’m going to assume it’s somewhere between the first 1/3 and middle of their time in space.

(In this diagram it’s more like 1.667 years, but whatever)

So after that you have season 4 which is even harder to pinpoint the length of be about half of it is the space arc, now, you could say that the remainder 2013 is also the rest of season 4, however another question arises with Rocksteady’s résumé where he states that he stopped working for the Foot in 2016, though I’m not sure when he’s considering their work for the foot to have ended (if you have an episode that’d be great) so I’m not really sure.

So unfortunately, everything after the end of the Space arc I have no clue on, though it seems you were mostly interested in the first half.

I basically have no clue for season 5, but most of it is silly “what-ifs” so I doubt most of it has a time line placement.

So yeah, that’s my wacky timeline research, please nit-pick as much as you can. My goal is to create an official timeline so if you have more stuff to add to this that might clarify things, or prove things differently, I’m all ears!

If you had to split the four animated show turtles into equally portioned groups of four for a crossover fic/if you were writing a special, how would you go about it?

Rules: Every group must have 1 of each turtle (one Leo, one Raph, one Donnie, and one Mikey), and they must be from different shows (one 1987, one 2003, one 2012 and one Rise).

ok so it terms of which turtles i'm picking, that is really tough. if we're going off of the plot i just made up in my head then i guess the following makes SOME sense so strap in because im kinda making this up as i go haha:

so for leo, i think i'm gonna have to pick rise: he's new to the whole leader thing, still finding his feet even after the krang invasion -- plus if im writing this thing, i'd like to imagine it's one of leo's portals that end them up in this situation in the first place.

for raph i'm thinking 2007: he's rough around the edges slightly older but yet very bemused by these other versions of his brothers. plus i just think 2007 raph is very cool. 2007 turts don't get enough rep so he's there!

for donnie it'd have to be 2003: he's one of my favourite donnie's and as someone who's already experienced a trans-dimensional turtle universe crossover he brings some knowledge to the table. i also would just think it would funny to see rise leo and 2003 donnie interact based on how vastly different each version of that character is.

and mikey i'm going last ronin. i have a reason for this so just sit tight lol

more under the cut because this gets REALLY long oops

in terms of plot:

so it's set after the events of the rise movie. things on earth are slowly yet surely moving forward; the city is being rebuilt, the turtles have yet another new home to make theirs. casey jr is settling in pretty well into his new family. things are looking up!

leo is still their leader and raph is more than overly proud of how far he's come since the beginning of the movie's events: he's taking things more seriously, he's working hard! to leo's brothers, things are coming back together again. it's all good!

but to leo, not so much. see leo puts on a good face and can act like he's doing better, but deeper down than just that surface level, he's not doing so hot. he's really struggling. he's going through The Works of all of his ptsd and trauma but behind closed doors, mostly because he thinks he's the only one still struggling with the effects of the previous events. casey jr like mentioned, is doing well after everything, and with everyone seemingly moving on, leo feels kind of stupid for how he feels, feeling like he's falling behind and he doesn't know why.

so that's why he's pushing himself pretty hard. trying to throw himself into training and such to 'toughen himself up'. he's maybe a little harder on his brothers as a result which brings up some tensions. im gonna focus on the leo mikey dynamic here because i love me some baja blast but also because this'll be plot relevant later. so maybe they're kicking street gang butt. and mikey is goofing around a little as he does it, mikey-ing it up like he does, and in the midst of the fight, maybe leo has a bit of a flashback, bringing on a panic attack that goes a little unnoticed, and as a result, he lashes out.

he comes down hard on mikey, shouting the odds about maybe being more careful or paying better attention all that jazz, before raph and donnie step in and are like. hey woah. theres no need for that.

leo is still having his ptsd panic attack; it's clouding his judgement and obscuring his thoughts. donnie gets defensive (because hey! they're just teens and they're not perfect at recognising their own and others emotions!) and maybe yells back and leo in his brothers defence.

leo feels like they dont get it! they dont understand what he's going through but feels too ashamed or afraid to ever voice it, so it kind of all bottles up inside and makes him angry and hurt, hence why he's kind of lashing out right now. he's just scared, above all, that he's not like his brothers and they're better at handling their issues than he is, and whether or not that makes him a worthy leader.

this all causes a big fight between him and his brothers (after their beef with the street gang is over btw) and leo goes to storm off, still subtly fighting off the panic attack and goes to portal himself home except... his swords don't take him home.

leo somehow ends up in an entirely different universe. one that feels strangely similar to the prison dimension, panic now dialled up to like a million, he's REALLY not having a good time right now, and as a result, his mystic energy kind of just, waters out and he's struggling to make a portal back home. this just makes him flail even more, and because of it, he fails to see the synjas (because we are in the last ronin verse now baby!) but is saved last second by someone pushing him out of the way.

they take cover, maybe there's a bit of a scuffle between this unknown turtle and the synjas (think SAINW moment where mikey came outta the shadows) because it is in fact 2003 donnie!

leo is completely confused because.. how?! is this donnie?? there's some brief introductions before they go to take shelter and leo is asking like a million questions because he has NO idea whats happening until donnie breaks it down to him after they find a safe place to hide it out.

see, 2003 donnie knows about alternative universes and such (SAINW + turtles through time) so i guess im kind of serving him as a bit of expositional dump here for leo, but also because i think this donnie would be a good match against leo’s panic and fear. he’s really helpful at fielding leo through his attack and gently explains that his leo back at home goes through the same stuff to which rise leo is like. oh great, we’re all pathetic. cue donnie looking sad making that :< face i love lmao. 

so after it’s established that they’re in a different universe, donnie explains that he kind of just woke up here. leo gets a feel that perhaps his mystic energy might have been at play here, so he tells a white lie and is like. oh yeah me too lol how crazy! and feels again, ashamed of himself that he might have done this to poor donnie. 

it’s shown that shredder is now ruling over the city and this is kind of… a bad timeline. donnie doesn’t give too much away but leo can tell he has… ahem. certain experiences with a similar situation but donnie assures him that as long as they stick together they’ll be fine, and if they ended up here somehow, theres probably a way back home too. 

it doesnt take long for the synjas to find them again, a hoard of them this time overpowering leo and donnie and they’re getting their asses kicked something crazy until there’s the sound of a motorbike revving and boom. in comes 2007 raph. 

he doesn’t necessarily save them but him being so badass inspires the others to push a little harder and eventually the three of them escape together. raph has the same questions as leo had, similar situation where he explains he kind of just woke up here.

donnie cant be certain what the reason is as to why they’re here, but is set on figuring it out after they deduct that donnie is, as always, their brains of the team. so whilst they find a place to hide for the night, they get talking. they come to find that with some varying differences, their lives are kind of the same in a sense. 

raph and donnie are breezing through all the shit they’ve been through, listing off The Horrors and again leo is there listening like.. well THEY seem fine! wtf is wrong with me!! and kinda closes himself off because he feels even more stupid now. UGH LEO !!

raph sees this and tries ribbing him a little like. oh classic leo move you think you’re so tough and you’re better than us yada yada just because he wants him to open up (and maybe this raph was raised on a little more tough love than the others) but it doesnt work and leo snaps at him and tensions are now rising. donnie ever the pacifist and peacemaker reminds them that if they wanna get out of this hell hole its gotta be together as a team.

that’s when it’s mentioned that technically, they don't really have a full team.

cutaway to a turtle (who could it possibly be!) standing before the city on like a hill with lightening cracking because. dramatics and whatnot.

the next day, things are still rough and leo hasn’t slept much and maybe donnie is fussing over him, but leo shrugs him off and is like. IM FINE >:( and so donnie gives him some space as the 3 of them head out to go find some info about this universe they’ve found themselves in. 

they end up finding out kind of like the base level info about the last ronin verse, wondering if maybe the turtles exist at all here since they haven’t seen any. 

leo is still brooding and stuff and still festering a bit of guilt when maybe raph is like. man i need to get home to my brothers this place sucks (he has seperation anxiety remember). and maybe donnie is having his own ptsd and leo feels even WORSE because OH. they… they are suffering just as much as he is. oops. 

and then boom they’re attacked again by synjas whom of which overpower them this time and take them to oroku hiroto (grandson of the shredder) who is like. bro what. all these turtles??

so whilst shredder jr jr tries to figure out whats happening here and whats going on, the turtles are put in captivity where leo now kind of just, has a full blown meltdown. he regretfully admits that this was all HIS fault and that he brought them here by mistake and hes just a screw up and and hes nothing like THIER leader leo and he isnt cut out for this!! 

and donnie and raph are like. WOAH!! pause. take a breath. its alright.

leo thinks theyre just being nice out of well. niceness but raph is like, you think my leo is perfect? he left us for months without a word because he was so caught up in his own head because of all the shit he went through, he aint perfect. 

and donnie is like. yeah lol same with my leo tbh.

and then does leo finally start to recognise that he’s not supposed to be perfect. he still however feels like hes miles behind from his brothers in terms with coping with his trauma and donnie is like. UM HELLO? and explains that this whole situation has been messing with his head because of HIS own trauma. raph too, with his separation anxiety, and they both explain that its not a race, and chances were, his brothers back home were probably hiding aspects of it too, like leo is because they’re all just as stupid as each other, through universes. 

leo is like. HUH. okay that makes sense lowkey so thanks but um.. aren’t we about to die :/

enter last ronin mikey. he rocks everyones shit and donnie leo raph are just :O in awe because oh. THERES their little brother lmao

mikey manages to free the others as hiroto escapes when leo is like. where tf were YOU the entire time lmao.

mikey is like. in the shadows, duh, you guys are terrible ninjas. lmao. and now that it’s established that it was leo that brought them here, they believe its up to leo to get them home. 

so since being captured their weapons have been taken away so together they devise a plan to get them back as they run around the shredders lair. chaos and action ensue, imagine them all being very badass and helping one another as they kind of.. like face their fears and stuff that show leo that recovery isn’t perfect and linear and all that:))

there’s also a moment where mikey maybe is with leo and as they catch their breath hes like. oh yeah i overhead what you were worrying about and dude just know that you can only heal when you heal together like dont do it alone. leo then notes that if this is last ronin’s universe then why is he alone and then the penny drops and hes like… oh:(( right

last ronin mikey gives him some real wisdom about how trying to move past your traumas alone sucks, and that he personally doesnt have much of a choice, but rise leo does, much like how 2003 donnie and 2007 raph and all the other versions of the turtles DO. 

he tells him that it started with just them four and in every other universe, it ends with them too. 

cue the emotional swell of music idk lol

they get leos swords as mikey holds back the shredder and now with the power of friendship lmao leo gets his mystic energy working and with some heartfelt goodbyes, sends both donnie and raph back to their homes. leo cant hold the portal open forever and as mikey remains struggling to keep shredder away leo begs him to maybe come with him, where he can find him a better home with a better outcome. 

mikey says something like. ‘nah, kid, this is my destiny. go get your own,’ and then leo either leaves or mikey pushes him through. 

leo ends up back in the lair, stumbling through the portal to his unbothered brothers. to them, he’s maybe only been gone a couple hours. maybe they say something tongue in cheek like. “man, you took your time. what you took a detour to south america/japan to get here?” and then leo just bursts into tears.

all previous tension is GONE and they’re rushing to him like. omg what:(( whats wrong?

he breaks it down to them now that a LOT is wrong and that he was sorry but he’s not coping all that well after the invasion still and thought he could handle it on his own. 

maybe them mikey comes forward and is like. hey. we handle it together or we dont handle it at all. kind of a callback to what ronin mikey told him. cue lots of hugs and warm fuzzy feelings. and thats the end.

SO YEAH. i made this up as i went along. i dunno!! im not big into writing multiverse turtle fics but this was fun to imagine as an episode or like a mini tv movie or something:)) lmk what you thought because i just have a lot of feelings about traumatised turtles going through their shit lmao

I know in Usagi’s ref sheet he’s 16 (not sure if he’s been aged up because of all the art), but you’d drawn some art of Usagi with artistic nudity as well. Remembering back to that one really fun thing where you had us pick how Usagi spends a day, he said that he felt “dirty” and felt Leo’s hands on him, before it switched to bugs, and he seemed to have marks on him, plus the art of all the bites and what I can assume are nonsexual(?) hickies??

Is Usagi a victim of SA?

His relationship with Leo seems to hint that at times, with Leo’s nonconsentual biting and repeated flirts, plus all the comments in the past in art with Ichida or Mikey saying Leo “takes Usagi’s belt off” or “Well I can’t just meow and spread my legs to get what I want”..

I might be reading too into it, but I love their dynamic and am trying to make a list of the psychology behind them and what really happens in their relationship, as most art seems to be behind rose colored glasses or from Leo’s manipulative point of view

OKAY SO.

When I originally made the AU, I was not a victim of sexual assault myself, and therefore did not feel that I had a right to represent an SA victim, especially one as a main character.

Usagi was originally just meant to be representative of an abuse victim/people pleaser having a lack of bodily autonomy and (bc of my own hatred and disgust of physical touch) I often project that into Usagi (the artistic nudity is bc 1. I don't think nudity is inherently sexual (or that anything is inherently sexual) 2. Usagi has a body type I love drawing and 3. It is a metaphor for how he's objectified and vulnerable, and also with an air of shame around his body, evoking body dysmorphia/dysphoria and purity culture)

I'm also aro/ace and autistic so my relationship to my own body, sexuality, nudity etc is not conventional and may not be popular but that is MY intent behind my art and not whatever anyone else says the intent is

WITH THAT BEING SAID, as my life did not stop after I made the AU, I eventually experienced sexual assault myself (1 out of 6 n all) and I will say, with my newer perspective, that if you want to view Usagi as an SA victim, that is completely fine and valid within the narrative. If you Don't want to, that is also completely fine.

Usagi is meant to be seen more as a representation of a lack of autonomy. Of course that lends itself to Leo assaulting Usagi, but this is also a lack of autonomy in his own life, body, relationships, etc.

The life of a gifted kid people pleaser, constantly bending to the whims of expectations and such. If that means he's an SA victim to you, he is. If that means he's trans to you, he is, if that means he's from the bronx to you, etc etc. Usagi kinda evolved be a vent character to me, so he can absolutely be that to yall 👌

The comments made by characters like Mikey or Ishida are generally non-canon now, they're a bit crass and almost. Just kicking Usagi when he's already down, which just feels like torture porn after a while. The hamatos see Usagi as 'Leo's thing' but that's simply objectification bc the turtles donr really see other people as People. I did that mostly as a form of bullying to myself, kinda cus I always feel Gross and projected that.

As for the rose colored glasses part, I agree. I adore contrasting themes/exaggeration/satire in art, so I love dark topics seen in cutesy/silly ways, often bc its much more accurate to how it can feel/look from the outside. A dizzy, serotonin laced kinda trance as your brain barely processes what is going on. I cut bc I get a kinda dopamine rush high from it so I put that perspective in my stuff often LMAO

I'd also be lying if I didn't say I loved Dreamalgia and their use of creepycute styles and aesthetics. Plus it lends to how Leo twists the narrative of their relationship in the AU and to the viewer (that's also why Usagi seems kinda 1 dimensional sometimes, Leo has made him a shell of his former self, before Leo Usagi was a lot more nuanced LOLZ)

Now that I'm rewatching TMNT 2012 and also remembering s4 episodes...

Yeah, the entire series takes place over the span of a year (roughly).

When the turtles travelled back in time ~6 months to stop the triceratons, and near the middle(?) of their journey we have the Trans-Dimensional Turtles episode, the 1987 and 2012 crossover. The episode ends with them returning to their own dimensions, and the 87 turtles fighting off a Dimension X worm and a 2012 Tiger Claw (that the worm ate)... aka the 87 cameo scene that appeared during the season 2 episode "Wormquake."

Karai is also 1 year older than the turtles, and in the season 3 episode Turtles in Time, they travelled 16 years into the past and saw the falling out between Oroku Saki, Hamato Yoshi, and met Tang Shen and baby Miwa. 16 years. They were still 15 in season 3. So the first 3 seasons took place within a time frame less than or equal to 6 months, since we know it was more than 3 because that was how long Leo was comatosed post-Kraang invasion.

And there is few month time skip before the season 4 episode Requiem; because Splinter got injured in a previous episode and in the next, Leo commented that it's been a few months since his father's injury and is worried about how well it's healing. I'm thinking it's 2-3 months, since that's what "few" usually refers to, with 4 being the highest number that can be associated with the word "few."

At most, the turtles are 16 years old when the series ends.

[Soul Switching: Rise Leo and 2012 Leo switch with each other when they sleep. Two people sharing their life with the other causes drama. Leo is 2012, Leon is Rise]

Two blue portals – one a bright, electric shade and the other a more dull and calm color – opened above a large area with many different kinds of people wandering about.

The only problem? The portals were angled so when two turtle mutants fell out of them they collapsed on top of each other.

The two groaned, shifting and collapsing into an even bigger mess on the floor.

“Ugh, what hit me?” The red-eared slider mutant, shifted to prop himself arms with his arms.

The other quickly got his bearings, immediately sitting up when he heard the familiar voice. “Leon?”

The red-eared slider turned. “Leo? What are you doing here? I was not expecting another one of these situations to be happening.”

“I don’t think this is another situation like that…” Leo looked around, trying to figure out what happened. “Huh. This isn’t my world, but it isn’t yours either. It seems to be some sort of place where multiple worlds can hang out? I mean there’s a lot of versions of us here, so maybe there’s a big threat that needs to be handled that needs a bunch of us helping out.”

Leon rolled his eyes fondly. “Dude. Chill. There’s literally a big banner that says ‘TMNT Best Sibs Comp’, so I don’t think there’s a big threat to the universe or anything like that.”

“Comp? Like competition?” Leo asked, interested. He got a competitive gleam in his eyes. “How do we win?”

“I have no clue. But hey! At least we’re in our own bodies. It’d suck if we just got thrown here while we were switched.” Leon said, standing up. “But we can agree that this is so cool, right? Just like Jupiter Jim and the Jim Jupiters!”

“I think you mean Space Heroes Episode 329: The Trans-Dimensional Crew!” Leo responded. “But heck yeah this is cool! I know we’ve kinda already had the whole other worlds thing figured out, but this is wayyy different. There’s so many different versions of you around here!”

Leon grinned. “I know right!? I wonder if everyone here has the switching thing. I know there’s probably differences between each group, but not everyone, right? Also JJ and the JJs is way better than that Space Heroes episode. 20 minutes of a tv series is nothing compared to a full JJ movie!”

“Yeah it’d be so weird if we’re the only versions of us that switch. Wait, what if the switching isn’t with us, but with our brothers!” Leo gasped. “And how dare you disrespect Space Heroes. Just because it’s a show doesn’t make it any worse that Jupiter Jim. I’ll even say it makes it better than Jupiter Jim!”

“Oh my god, imagine a world where Donnie switches! Jupiter Jim’s better.”

“I’m pretty sure your brother would have somehow just consumed my Donnie’s soul. There’s no way those two would be able to coexist like we do. There’s no beating Space Heroes.”

“Don’t doubt your Donnie, just because mine is more showy with his craziness doesn’t mean yours isn’t equally unhinged. Jupiter Jim.”

“You know who’s really unhinged? My Raph. Especially compared to yours. Space Heroes.”

“Ha! They would never be able to hide it! There’s no way they could ever pretend to be the same person — they’re just too different! Jupiter Jim.”

“Just imagine Raph in Raph’s huge body. Space Heroes.”

“Honestly a bit terrifying. Jupite– oh look, a bracket! Looks like a tournament style thing. Though only the first matchups are shown…” Leon got distracted from the back and forth by a big screen showing the standings.

“Hm? Where are we on it?” Leo turned his head to see where Leon was looking, scanning the list.

“I don’t know, there’s a bunch of weird names for each group. Which makes sense, it’s not like they can just write our names, with everyone being the same person and all.” Leo drummed his shell as he looked.

“Soul Switching? You think that’s us?” Leo asked.

“Where’s that? Oh, yeah, could be. Bit on the nose, isn’t it?” Leon stared at the bracket. “Wait, does that mean that we’re the only people that switch?”

Leo shrugged. “I guess it was always a possibility. It is a little weird though. There’s so many people here, and none of them switch like us?”

“That’s what I’m saying! Who are we up against, anyway?” Leon squinted at the screen.

“Some group titled Separated Leo? I have no idea what that could mean for our chances. And none of the Leos around here seem to be alone. Maybe we should ask around? Figure out what group we’re up against?” Leo scanned the crowd. “I’m sure we’ll be able to beat them with no struggle― wait why did I just get a foreboding feeling. We’re not going to lose that bad, right?”
