I love it when trans actors play trans characters because they do it perfectly (of course). And when they get to play a romantic lead, I’m going bonkers.
I’m talking about Misia Butler as Caeneus in Kaos, on Netflix, he did it perfectly.
And the series did it amazingly. HIS MUM, it’s perfect. Love this guy

Exclusive Interview: Misia Butler on his heroic trans character in Netflix's Greek mythology series KAOS "I find it really empowering to see someone so strong in his identity"
Charlie Covell, creator of the BAFTA-winning and Emmy-nominated The End Of The F***ing World, is about to unleash KAOS on Netflix: their eight-episode, bold, darkly comic, contemporary—and frequnetly queer—take on Greek mythology, launching Thursday, August 29th. Epic in scope, the series follows the steady unraveling of the cruel and capricious King of the Gods, Zeus (Jeff Goldblum), as he…

F*CK NETFLIX FOR CANCELLING YET ANOTHER SHOW WITH QUEER REPRESENTATION THOSE TRANSPHOBIC/HOMOPHOBIC F*CKS
For those of you who don’t know, Netflix released a new series in August of 2024 called Kaos.
It’s a new take on the story of Orpheus and Eurydice but with much more at stake such as the fall of the gods. There are a couple of amazing characters in the series one of which is Caeneus. He is an ex-Amazon and for the most of the series we see him in the underworld, ‘dead’. But honestly the internet will be able to give u a better summary of what the show is about.
What I wanna talk about is how Netflix has yet again done this.
They claim yet again that the series didn’t have an audience.
They claim yet again that it costs too much money to make a season 2.
And so on and so on, by now we know their excuses by heart.
So in summary: Fuck Netflix, here are some cute picks of my favourite trans actor playing Caeneus.
And maybe just for fun let’s add a colour picture
I CANT YALL! I hope I look that good once I start transitioning! He is such a role model and an icon and I hope he knows that!!!!
And then just a fun little thing:
In Greek mythology there actually really was a certain Caeneus🤩 It’s a different one than they show in Kaos, but he was also trans! He was a Lapith hero and a ruler. Born a girl, then Poseidon slept with him, Caeneus asked Poseidon to be an invulnerable man and BAM: ✨man✨. I love how that happens in Greek myths.
He also fought bravely in the centauromachy (cause yk, he was invulnerable so obvs a massive hero) where he proved invaluable but he got crushed by stones and trunks of trees and disappeared deep into the earth. He was unharmed don’t worry, later he would be released by the earth as a sandy headed bird😍
But that’s going pretty off topic innit? Def go check out the myth online tho! It’s rll cool!

Some stills from "Troilus and Cressida" (dir, Andy Webb) as a part of the Hampshire College Fall Theatre Season 2024.
This was my first onstage roll since transitioning - I've really missed performing, and this show let me prove to myself that I can be a trans actor, I can be trans and on stage, and I can play a trans character. It allowed me to put a lot of things into perspective, particularly how my own gender influences my performances and the rolls I want to take in the future - in a weird a roundabout (and retrospective) way, it was really affirming.
It was so much fun to be back onstage again, learning lines, refining performance, character work, interacting with the audience - even making acting choices up till the final night.
The entire cast were an absolute joy and were all incredible - everyone gave their all. Performing with Emile (the actor playing Hector) was class. Our standoff was one of my favourite parts of the show - we had a wonderful sense of rhythm. Our final fight was always too fast, but we performed it with so much gusto (so much so that I broke my oar that I was fighting with on the last night). A wonderful performer whom I will miss acting with dearly.
And then there's Ace (who played Patroclus). We made something really special with these two characters. We talked about how our gender informed our characters, how we could provide a different point of view of these two characters that was neither mocking nor comical but authentic and real. I will really miss performing with him, and the rest of this ensemble.
I made some really dear friends during this performance, and have regained this passion for performance.
This was an incredibly tight and incredibly professional piece of theatre and I am so grateful to have been part of this. I still have a lot to learn and I am itching to improve.

New Netflix mini-series Baby Reindeer, featuring up-and-coming trans actress Nava Mau as Teri, looks set to be one of the most-talked about TV shows of the month. Based on real events, the Netflix drama tells the chilling story of Scottish comedian Richard Gadd being harassed by a middle-aged woman he meets at the pub where he works. The star first shared his experience in the form of a one-man play at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2019, which went on to win an Olivier Award. While the stage show depicted the stalker in question as a bar stool, in Baby Reindeer, she is Martha, played by Pride star, Jessica Gunning. Gadd stars in the lead role, although he’s not exactly playing himself. He is Donny, a writer and comedian struggling to find the success he craves.
