ok gonna dump some thoughts on the stex oc

lore(I guess)

combines the og trains wif the wembley production(to the best of my ability because I've barely processed the musical as a whole, I'm just lowk obsessed with the singing british trains)

so og!greaseball is married to didi(og!dinah) and f!greaseball is their kid

the oc is og!grease and og!dinah's older train kid(thingy?) and f!greaseball's older sibling

this is literally just a self insert lmao but I guess that's how ocs are? I've never made an oc before cuz I waz too afraid of cringe

ok so the oc's name is quicksilver cuz I feel like this lowk pompous name is smt that og!greaseball would name his firstborn child lmao

quicksilver is probably the same type of train as the greaseballs just repainted cuz they went through a rebellious stage wif og!greaseball and covered up the yellow with their favourite colour red(guess who else likes red ((it's me)) I like red)

ok now back to shoving my oc into the story

so imagine the crash in the final race(wembley revival) but way worse like full blown explosion and the cheater trio barely getting out with their lives + some other engines and trucks getting caught in the explosion + rusty and pearl goes missing after the race

the whole train yard is thrown into chaos and the yard is short on manpower/trainpower?

so quicksilver gets emergency transfered(temporarily) to help out and they end up staying once they realise f!greaseball was caught in the crash. staying to look out for her ukno?

(oops forgot to add but f!greaseball calls quicksilver swift and quicksilver calls f!greaseball grace ((cuz greaseball pronounced with an accent lowk sounds like graceball)) and that's kinda cute)

((originally wanted the nickname to be silver cuz I forgot abt the existence of silver bullet so... it's fine swift is cute))

maybe if I figure out how to draw human trains I'll post a pic of how quicksilver look like 🥰

Throwback to a little over a week ago when Murphy’s Law made an already hectic travel schedule even more crunched...

I had a last minute work trip to Toronto that I had to book around an already planned personal flight. I should have comfortably arrived back in Brussels at 10:10am with plenty of time to spare before my flight to Istanbul later that day at 15:15, but of course that’s NOT how reality unfolded.

Due to delays with loading baggage in the frosty Canadian tundra, my inbound flight from Toronto was an hour late getting in. I landed at 8:55am and my next flight was scheduled at 9:25am. Tough, I thought, but I’ve sprinted through this airport before after being told I’d miss my flight and managed to make it just fine. This is what I had trained for. 💪

Despite running for 20 solid minutes (in my wool sweater 😩) across almost ALL of Schipol, I was still at the gate 10 minutes before departure... but not before the gate had closed. Wah wah. I suppose I didn’t realize that I was literally AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE when starting my journey from my arrival gate (G8) and making my way to B24, but I don’t think that would have stopped me from trying. The perpetual optimist, I suppose.

While literally dripping sweat, I made my way to the Transfer desk where after some negotiating they put me on the next train to Brussels at 11:30. Lifesaver. #trainpower

I made it to Brussels Gare du Midi by 13:00 and to Zaventem Airport in Brussels by 13:30 where I proceeded to head directly to my car in P3 to retrieve the suitcase for Istanbul that I had proactively packed and kept at the ready (#travelpro 😎), exchanged toiletries, changed shoes and coats, and headed immediately to my next flight.

In the end I had only 15 minutes to spare between arriving at my gate for Istanbul and boarding. After 24+ hours of transatlantic travel with segments in four different countries, let’s just say that I had no trouble settling into our Airbnb that night. 😴
