Most of your rafe/barry/Sofia works are rafe/barry, rafe/Sofia, barry & Sofia. And I was wondering how they would decide to get into this dynamic, like was rafe dating both of them privately and they both found out, or was he open about it and they where like fine yeah I'll date you even though your already in a relationship, like how did it happen.

I haven’t thought about it entirely? But in a Sofia/rafe/barry scenario I always imagine that Rafe/Barry were the first but were never fully monogamous — accidentally fell in love and put off admitting it for as long as possible, only let walls down when they were high out of their minds or wasted, or in the early hours the day after, never lingering, etc etc etc, trailerclub angsty shit — and had a mutual agreement (probably came to without ever actually talking about it) that they could still sleep around, either for appearances or just for fun.

Then there’s an overlap where Rafe starts hooking up with Sofia and accidentally falls in love AGAIN but puts off talking about it, so there’s likely like… a month or so of Barry fully aware and Sofia just blissfully ignorant, and then eventually I imagine Rafe and Sofia kinda-sorta talk about their relationship and Rafe mentions not wanting to ‘pick’ or something and Sofia asks enough questions to get out of him that he’s “kinda with someone else who knows about [her]” but still wants Her too, but because he’s Rafe Cameron and is shit at feelings and talking about them, he keeps it annoyingly vague

And then eventually, being the observant girlie she is in my brain, she picks up on the lingering touches and stares between Rafe and that one guy he invites to all his parties, the way they sit just a liiiittle too close together and lean into each other when they really don’t need to, and brings it up to Rafe and explains that she’s chill with it, she just wants him happy and maybe to be able to get to know Barry!

I simply don’t believe Sofia or Barry are monogamous people, they’re both way too queer for that to me, very comfortable and secure for the most part (if we ignore Barry’s issues with his own emotional repression and Sofia’s insecurities around her being working class), if anything I think Rafe would be the one to be weirded out by the prospect of dating two people at once in a way that’s NOT cheating, so when he finds a girl he actually loves and respects enough to not want to betray her like that he just gets super conflicted and puts everything on hold until he’s figured it out (but both his partners just figure it out for him because this boy is… useless—)

Forever love that Rafe is trying so hard to be intimidating and agro, and all Barry can do is hold his arms and stare up into the sky like "what the fuck is this boy doin now?"

The only reason Rafe knows how to use exel is because he has two spreadsheets dedicated entirely to his sex life cause he finds his own habits and patterns fascinating (hes also a lil bit autistic- but dont tell him)

One is a spreadsheet of almost entirely hookups and relationships that lastest a month at most, listing every time he's had sex, who it was with, a brief description of what they looked like, the date and time it happened, how high/drunk he was and on what, a rating, and a brief description of what they did and well as comments and critiques

The other is specifically about Barry and him, which its almost identitical other than the "who/what did they look like" being void, the high/drunk section being individual "What Rafe was on" "What Barry was on" sections, and the 'comments and critiques' mostly consisting of "he did this and it made me wanna die, this happened and it was the best thing ever, he said this thing in this tone and i caved, i called him this and im pretty sure i saw him crumble" lol

Barry thinks hes fucking INSANE for this and constantly calls him crazy and a freak for it, but he sometimes sneaks a peek at their sheet and finds it just a little hot.

Rafe got his boyfriend back, found out that he turned him in cause he couldnt stand the thought of him having to leave the island, and decided "actually I'm gonna stay here forever and stand up to my shit father if he tries something to get me to move"

Rafe got Barry back and immediately started standing up to his dad and doing the shit he wants. And refused to leave.

Rewatching OBX and Barry ABSOLUTELY heard that Rafe was gonna have to leave and decided that turning him in and having him trapped on the island would be better than losing him— like 1000%.

I don’t think he even knew that the cops were actually out for Rafe until that conversation, he just heard he’d have to leave him and decided he couldn’t just say “please don’t go” and had to turn him in instead lol
