Do you recognize that feeling of excitement? I recently had a rush when I painted at the abandoned train tunnels in Charleroi, Belgium. A spot high on my graffiti wishlist. Hundreds of meters of concrete wall along the trackside, covered in paint.

'LADY MAGS III' AKA Magda Gross PhD Micron 08 Pen on Bristol Paper 19x24in. 2022 FRIDAY THE 13TH (This Friday 1/13/2023) will be the Closing Party and Q&A for @lady_mags and @alynnpaint for their exhibition 'WILDFLOWERS'. Event is from 5-9pm, Q&A begins at 6:30pm. Pictured here is the third portrait I've done of @lady_mags while her show is up at @111minnagallery which began on Oct.13th 2022. Included in this post are individual works by @lady_mags and a mural collabation with her long time friend @alynnpaint. Be sure to notice their impressive and incredibly harmonious language they create together.. With their current 111 Minna Gallery exhibition ‘Wildflowers,’ Amandalynn and Lady Mags have come together once again to bring their unified vision of beauty, femininity, and nature to 111 Minna Gallery. As long-time collaborators and friends, these two have been creating work together for over a decade and graced the Bay Area with massive public art pieces combining their unique styles. Together they weave watercolor, bold graffiti, powerful female figures, and flora and fauna into one cohesive look. Born and raised in NYC, Lady Mags began her art career as a graffiti writer in 2006, when she started painting tracksides in Chicago while pursuing a degree in education. She has travelled throughout the world, painting street art and large scale murals in many of her destinations. She began exhibiting her fine art in galleries while also practicing her PhD in International Comparative Education at Stanford University. She currently resides in Petaluma CA where she practices her art while raising two very beautiful children. #ladymags #amandalynn #wildflowers #111minnagallery #dyoungv (at 111 Minna Gallery) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnTk3tHLnIa/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

GRAFFITI, VANDALISM, DRUGS, DRUG USE, (MARIJUANA), EXPLICIT LANGUAGE
EXT. TRACKSIDE AN ABANDONED FREIGHT TRAIN CAR. DUSK.
Two people dressed in all black with hoodies and backpacks stand in front of the train car. VORTEX scopes the area while PIXLS investigates the car.
PIXLS
(Quietly.)
Hey, Vor, check this out. I think I might be able to get this open.
PIXLS fidgets with a flimsy, rusted lock. It snaps in two. VORTEX joins her.
Vortex
(Sternly.)
Hurry. Get inside.
CUT TO:
INT. INSIDE AN ABANDONED FREIGHT CAR. DUSK.
VORTEX (CONT'D)
Alright, Pix. You ready to smoke this fat blunt?
VORTEX sets his backpack on the floor, sits down, and pulls out a bag of weed and a pack of White Grape Games.
PIXLS
Yeeaaaah. Hurry and roll that shit.
PIXLS puts her backpack down. She pulls her phone out of her pocket and sits across from VORTEX, leaning against the inner wall of the car.
INSTAGRAM opens on her screen. There is a new message.
PIXLS
(Concerned.)
Hey, uh, Vor… You’re gonna want to check this out.
Vortex
(He finishes rolling the blunt and looks up at her as he sparks it.)
What is it?
PIXLS
Orion messaged us? And he wants to paint?!
He coughs on the blunt smoke and passes it to PIXLS.
VORTEX
(Out of breath.)
I’m sorry - what was that?
She scoots closer to him and shows him the phone.
PIXLS
(Concerned.)
I said - Orion messaged us. He wants to paint with us.
VORTEX
Oh.
They are both quiet for a moment.
VORTEX (CONT'D)
(Realizing.)
OH.
He starts packing his bag back up.
VORTEX (CONT'D)
When? Tell him we can paint tonight but it might be late if that’s cool.
PIXLS types her message to ORION.
VORTEX (CONT'D)
(Impatient.)
Well, what are you waiting for? Let’s go, we’ve got to get to the car.
PIXLS
(Defensive.)
Hey, wait just a second. You didn’t even give me time to message him back.
CUT TO:
EXT. TRACKSIDE A FREIGHT TRAIN LINE. NIGHT.
VORTEX and PIXLS are walking trackside back to the lot they parked in.
PIXLS (CONT'D)
He said it’s cool but how late? Let him know when we’re in CITY and he’ll let us know where to meet him.
VORTEX
Well, we’re about an hour’s walk from the car, and then it’s a 30-minute drive to CITY so tell him about 2 hours.
PIXLS
Got it.
CUT TO:
INT. INSIDE VORTEX’S CAR ON THE HIGHWAY. NIGHT.
VORTEX drives and PIXLS is adjusting her camera’s settings.
VORTEX
Alright, can you text him and let him know we’re almost there? 15 minutes?
She shuts her camera off and slips it in her backpack. In its place, she takes her phone out.
PIXLS
Yeah, I got it.
Only a moment goes by before she has a message back.
CUT TO:
INT. INSIDE VORTEX’S CAR IN A TAKEOUT PARKING LOT. LATE NIGHT.
VORTEX sits alert in his seat, as PIXLS slumps comfortably in the passenger seat. She is looking at her phone.
VORTEX
This is the place. Do you think he’ll show?
PIXLS
(Sighs.)
Maybe.
She looks out her passenger side window and quickly sits up.
PIXLS
Hey, who’s that?
VORTEX looks over PIXLS out of her window.
VORTEX
Looks like that’s probably him.
A MAN walks up to the passenger side of the car and taps on PIXL’s window. VORTEX rolls the window down slightly.
VORTEX
Hey - Orion?
ORION
Yeah, man. What’s good? Y’all been having a good night?
VORTEX
Yeah, we’ve been good. Hey, man, it might be easier if you get in on this side.
ORION walks to the driver’s rear side of the car and gets in.
VORTEX
What’s good?
ORION
What’s good, what’s good… If y’all want to get going I’ve got a spot we can hit.
VORTEX and PIXLS perk up at the sound of a wall to paint.
VORTEX
Hell yeah, let’s go. Direct the way.
CUT TO:
INT. INSIDE VORTEX’S CAR, DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. NIGHT.
VORTEX drives and ORION gives him directions from the back seat. PIXLS is distracted on her phone.
ORION
Alright, it’s coming up right down here.
(He points.)
Right around that bend. You can park right over there.
VORTEX parks the car.
CUT TO:
EXT. OUTSIDE VORTEX’S CAR. NIGHT.
VORTEX, PIXLS, and ORION all get out of the car and grab their backpacks. A short walk away, there is a long BRICK WALL that is illuminated by some campus parking lot lamps.
CUT TO:
EXT. ILLUMINATED BRICK WALL. NIGHT.
VORTEX and ORION stand at the wall painting. PIXLS has her camera in hand, snapping shots of the two of them creating.

Westchester Avenue Station in The Bronx, New York The Westchester Avenue station was constructed in 1908 to expand commuter rail service into the Bronx, Westchester County, and Connecticut by the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad (NY, NH & H). Architect Cass Gilbert, who had recently completed the lauded U.S. Custom House in Lower Manhattan, was tasked with designing 12 stations, though not all of the proposed stations were built. The Westchester Avenue station consisted of three sections: a tall, central entry hall, a shorter waiting room suspended over the tracks to the east, and a small west porch. The entrance is ornamented with glazed, polychrome terra cotta. In his later 1910 design of the Woolworth Building, Gilbert again utilized terra cotta detailing. Several factors hampered the success of commuter service on this line: the amount of debt incurred during the expansion, a terminus in the Bronx not Manhattan, and later competition with less expensive subway service. The NY, NH, and H discontinued service to local stations in 1931 although a subsidiary, the New York, Westchester, and Boston rail lines, continued to make scheduled stops. Both railroads eventually declared bankruptcy and on December 31, 1937, the last train stopped at Westchester Avenue. Amtrak now owns the property, which operates a portion of the Northeast Corridor in the right-of-way. Amtrak lists the asset as a "structure in need of demolition." The trackside platforms and stairs have been removed. The west porch was demolished, and replaced by an exit from the Sheridan Expressway. Graffiti removal has bleached the colors from the terra cotta on the lower part of the entry hall, which is not to say that the building is free of graffiti. Ivy often covers much of the structure. The Westchester Avenue station is neither listed on the National Register of Historic Places nor is it a New York City landmark, though local community activists hope to restore and repurpose the building. https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/westchester-avenue-station
