Okay, fellow Jekkies, let’s talk about an off-Broadway show called The Toxic Avenger, which has one of my favourite jokes in musical theatre and is catered specifically to us.

The plot is simple and classic, in a Little Shop of Horrors kind of way - a nerd loves a hot girl but is too shy to ask her out, his life in a polluted New Jersey town is awful, then BAM - he gets thrown into a vat of toxic sludge and basically becomes The Phantom of the Opera meets The Hulk. He saves the girl, who is blind, and pretends to be someone else so they can date but makes sure she never touches his face. It’s funny and heartfelt and angsty and all those good things.

But then there’s the villain - the mayor responsible for the constant influx of pollution and, well, toxicity to the town. She’s played by the same actress who plays Toxie’s (yes, that’s his nickname) mother.

Throughout the show, I noticed something odd and a bit suspicious: little photos of D*vid H*sselhoff popping up in the set. In Toxie’s home. On the mayor’s office wall next to her favourite politicians. And then, finally, in the hair salon where Toxie’s Mom has an appointment. Then the stylist announces the mayor is here to see her, and the actress comes out wearing a hybrid costume to sing THIS SONG (it’s 70% swearing so be aware), with choreography near-identical to Confrontation.

My friend, who knew of J&H but hadn’t seen it, had no idea why I laughed so hard. A joke so obscure you had to have watched the (admittedly not the best-known) musical it’s referencing to get it, and it came out of nowhere. I absolutely howled.

Okay so apparently I'm apart of a toxic fandom once again. Jesus can I please just for once be apart of a fandom that doesn't involve the other fans being complete utter idiots?! Over what? Yes the writers of Supergirl could do a better job, but the fans? I'm sorry, but that's the truth. You guys are just hating on this poor character for nothing! He hasn't done anything wrong! Look I don't care who Kara ends up with. I really don't. I stopped caring MONTHS AGO. She can end up with Lena, William, Andrea, Lex, Brainy, Barry, Kate, Cisco, or even a rock for all I care. I'm in this for the story the show is giving me for Supergirl NOT SOME OVERDRAMTIC LOVE STORY. Give me one reason he deserves to die. One. And I swear to God up high if any of you say it's because "ThE wRiTers ArE foRcing HiM ANd KaRA toGEtHer" I will delete your comment. He's a great guy. Even if him and Kara don't get together he still a good guy. If he was evil maybe then I be okay with this. But he's not. If you want to see evil, go look in a mirror. People, fans of Supergirl, we do not need to be toxic. We are better than this. I mean heaven sake, how do you think Staz if feeling about all this? Don't forget idiots in this fandom practically told him to go kill himself because they hate his character so much. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU!? IT'S PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO HAVE MADE EVERYONE ELSE SEE THIS THS FANDOM FOR SUPERGIRL AS TOXIC. I hope he survives the next episode. And I hope he comes back for the next season. Happy Monday Everyone! & Good Mid Morning Everyone!

I genuinely as always thank you all for the abundance of love! I appreciate it all SO much! Sending you all vitural hugs! On my social media post on my cookies & cream ice cream from Carvel. Also loving & enjoying this blog as much as I do writing them. Blogging became a fun, enjoyable & therapeutic hobby for me & an amazing form of self care. I already said that in a few blogs already. SO it’s finally Monday here in NY, looks like another snow day, kind of like saying “It’s ground hog day once again!” This morning I had a hot cup of coffee like every morning, stood at my kitchen counter, having a bowl of Raisin bran with almond milk. Then I went back on my indoor cycle for my morning work out. When I work out, I listen to music I feel like I have my own Soul Cycle Studio, in the comfort of my own house, defiantly makes the time go by faster! Today I was listening to the soundtrack of Rent. Whenever I play the song “Seasons Of Love”. I think of my old house & the memories I had in that house for 31 years, as it was knocked down almost 2 years ago, to make condos. I do feel like working out in the morning is a perfect way to get your heart pumping & blood flowing. Ideal way to wake the body up too. Working out is a great way to start the day. Earlier somebody asked me “How many pounds did you lose?”. I really don’t know, I threw out my scale. Due to the toxiness of it. Be non toxic compared to toxic. Ditched the calorie counter apps too. Never let the numbers on a scale define your worth. You are worthy!, You are enough, you are valued, you are loved & cherished. Please! Never, ever forget that! I definitely do feel like a strong female lead. Love saying that word!, I also love saying “body positive too”. I always feel pretty good about myself, compared to feeing poorly. I still want to see the Fearless Girl statue in the city (Manhattan), the meaning behind that statue is “Know the power of women in leadership.” Aka Women Empowerment..it’s SO extremely important to have a strong female lead to look up to & idolize too. In my case it’s my best friend Jacqueline Laurita & Kamala Harris better known as our first ever & will not be our last female in office. As madame Vice President. I do remember the show “Madam Secretary” & “House Of Cards”. But never saw an episode, cause being my 20s is different then my 30s, more in a positive light. Being in my 30s became the verge of adulthood for me. Then there is days, when I have to remind myself that I am 32 lol! Being my 30s is not like the movie “13 Going On 30”. Though it’s a fictional movie. More like a movie on utopia, where everything is perfect. Alexa, Siri, play the song “Everything Is AWESOME!!! “ by Tegan & Sarah from the Lego movie. I always say & will say “life is what YOU make it. Nobody else” . I am definitely going to make today’s blog, a 3 part blog again. Love when I do 3 parts, like one in the morning, then one in the late afternoon, then at the end hours, to relax & unwind. Will be having another hot cup of chamomile tea, it’s one of the things I do to relax at the end of the day, I am officially in my 30s. I did order a mug on Amazon, last night that says “The Future Is Female” . Cause I am a proud feminist, that loves coffee, Pinterest & Starbucks. Lol! As seen in my Twitter & Instagram biographies. I am a lover of novelty mugs & enamel pins. Amazon & Etsy has SO many to pick & chose from. Later on today, I am going on Broken Gypsy’s Etsy shop, to check out a few bracelets on there. As seen on my best friends Jacqueline Laurita’s Instagram story from yesterday. As you know or don’t know I love jewelry too. One of my favorite pieces of jewelry has to be bracelets. Also a great signature piece to express yourself. Lol! I sound like Madonna in her song “Express Yourself”. Oldie but a goodie! Love her live music! Makes me feel like I am live at a concert! R.L. Ryan (1946-1991)

If you are a child of the 80's and grew up on a steady diet of “Mom and Pop” video stores, Garbage Pail Kids, Pizza Hut and USA Up All Night then it’s likely you’ve seen R.L. Ryan before. Ryan (also known as Bob Ryan, Robert L. Ryan or Pat Ryan, Jr.!) is most recognized for his role in the Troma Entertainment “clas-sick” The Toxic Avenger (1984) where he played the vile Mayor Belgoody. Between bossing around his thugs Cigar Face, Nipples and Knuckles and eating gargantuan subway sandwiches, the Mayor plots to destroy “Toxie”, Tromaville’s superhero savior. A couple of years later, Ryan returned to Tromaville as the sloppy nuclear power plant owner, Mr. Paley, in Class of Nuke Em’ High (1986).

In both films, Ryan is perfectly cast as the ridiculous heavy (pun intended). He’s obscene, outrageous and outstanding! Only someone like R.L. Ryan can deliver a line like, “I don’t give a dry fart, get your ass in gear!” The Troma-esque comedy, Eat and Run (1986) featured R.L. in what would be his only real starring role – that of Murray Creature, a man-eating extraterrestrial. The movie is goofy fun and Ryan is unforgettable...especially while dressed in an oversized Cub Scout uniform! Sadly, most of R.L. Ryan’s screen appearances were very brief and his last big role onscreen was in 1987’s Street Trash where he played the lecherous owner of a junkyard – a wonderfully tasteless role that has to be seen to be believed! Last Saturday and Sunday I was at The Brooklyn Expo Center for POW!CON. I met a lot of really cool, sweet, talented people and did a couple commissions. On Sunday @thedazmaniandevil came and helped me man my table while took potty breaks and hunted for art and toys. I was a dummy and forgot to ask any of the cosplays for their info but damn if didn't see one of the best Ripleys I've seen in years! How cute is the Attack On Titan lil' guy?! Usagi Yojimbo came by the table, that was rad. A super detailed She-Ra let me get in on a picture. AND of course an old friend, The Toxic Avenger was reppin' at the Troma booth. It’s not easy <3 sometimes it may even take a few try’s especially if they are the type of person that will say/do something kind just as you’re trying to cut them off and you get pulled back in. Or it’s hard because at one point the relationship wasn’t toxic.

It took me a year to realize a friendship had turned one sided because we used to be so close. It took me another year on top of that to actually leave and cut this person off. (Which was hell because we were living together with their other friend and I couldn’t get over the hope that maybe one day things would turn around even though it got so bad both her and her friend would straight up ignore me when we were all home.)

It’s still hard sometimes, I haven’t talked to this person in a year but I still can’t bring myself to delete her contact.

Letting someone go especially someone you care about is hard even if the relationship is toxi/one sided .

When I think about reaching out to this person I remember how shitty I felt the last two years I was “friends” with her and how relieved I felt when I finally moved out.

But it’s hard, and frankly if I didn’t live with her it probably would have been harder to cut her off bc I wouldn’t of had it thrown in my face that it was one sided. Without living with the pain it would have been easier to brush off and accept her excuses.

The first step is acknowledging the relationship isn’t healthy. But I wish you courage in breaking off whichever person in your life that’s causing you pain.

Finally letting go of people that continually make excuses to not spend time with you or chat is so refreshing.

Being the only one to put effort into a friendship/relationship can be exhausting, painful, and toxic.

Wondering what you did wrong or what you can do to fix it when it’s not you is painful and exhausting.

You deserve better. You deserve to be surrounded by people that love you just as much as you love them.

Don’t waste your time on people that won’t make an effort.
