"There is an eerie silence as one enters the lane leading up to Shahi Jama Masjid in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal city. Just a day before, the area was in shambles as local Muslims, protesting against a court-ordered survey of the mosque and a Hindutva mob shouting genocidal slogans, were fired upon by the Uttar Pradesh Police, killing five people."

I Visited The Second Longest Wall In The World
"There’s Magic In Forts"
In the topmost video clip, I can be seen walking at Kumbhalgarh Fort along with my husband while in the bottom most video clip, our wonderful guide can be seen talking to my husband, explaining about the glorious history of this place.
*********************************************
Some very interesting facts about this place:
* The wall at Kumbhalgarh Fort stretches over 36 kilometers, second only to Great Wall of China.
* This Fort was built by Rana Kumbha, a ruler of the Mewar region in the North Western State of Rajasthan, India.
* The wall has never been breached.
* It served as a refuge for the rulers of Mewar.
* There are 360 temples in that area.
* The Fort has seven gates.
* The Fort is surrounded by a Wildlife Sanctuary.
* A spectacular light & sound show is held every evening in the complex depicting the history of the place.
* It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013.

The Art of Noticing is deceptive in its simplicity. In our times, we have the unique opportunity (for the first time in history), to practice our attention in retrospect by doing unbelievably easy visual & audio documentation. What captures your attention during your daily commute? One thing that is slightly different today, or something that has impeccable consistency & thus becomes mundane? On your winter outing with friends, does the the turn of light on trees & water, or the sweet rotting of dead leaves, or the human voices expressing frustration at their friends’ photography skills make you smile or bemused at our priorities? What colours tie your day together, which shades are random spottings in a sea of uniformity? What qualities of the season does the blowing or still wind, communicate? We can all be artists, because every perspective is unique & necessary. Even if your audience is just you going through your own phone’s photo gallery at 3 in the morning.
I ask you to notice— what has the potential to be special?
December afternoon visions from
Okhla Bird Sanctuary, Delhi, India.
