Just a basic backstory on how she discovered total drama and why she even has a rabbits foot in the first place:

Okay, so she was homeschooled most of her life until roti but during her childhood, she had a rabbit named Mr. Hops. He was really close to Kai but passed away. Her parents trying to find a way to cheer their daughter up, they gave her Mr.Hops foot. Of course she was scared and hid the thing in a drawer for a LONG while.

Then, when she turned 16, her parents convinced her to work at her aunts cafe for a slice of her aunts paycheck. She agreed and started working there and trying to have social interactions. The cafe was a bit small but not too small, they had enough to fit in a tv somewhere (remember that). She wasn’t the best employee due to her not being the best with talking to people but they were short on employees, so they kept her around. One day, during a break, her co-worker put on a reality show to watch during the meantime, this was total drama. Kai became invested in the show and asked the co-worker where she could buy some dvs to watch it. She became invested and started to watch the show over and over again. So when she found out a new season, with a new cast would be introduced, she signed up.

As she was packing up, she re-discovered the rabbit foot she threw away years ago. This obviously made her teary eyed due to being so attached to Mr.Hops, but she remembered that rabbit foot could get her luck up, so she took it for work to test it out. Surprisingly, her day was great! Almost no customers showed up to bother her, she didn’t spill coffee on herself, and her co-workers actually helped her! Kai got excited and brought it with her as a “secret weapon” to use on the show.
