Spoilers for Spellbound 8
Tori: Wait, if you grew up in a cult, and then you were homeless, who taught you how to drive?
Ezra: Kai and Aaron.
*Years Ago*
Aaron, with a death grip on the handle bar: So, you just check the incoming traffic and see if you have the space to turn. Actually, maybe we'll just wait until all of the other cars are gone. Yeah.
Kai, leaning over from the back seat: Just remember, this is like Mario Kart with one life.
Aaron: Ignore him.
Kai: Watch out for blue shells.
*Present Time*
Ezra: Somehow it still went better than cooking.
#The Guild Codex#The Guild Codex: Spellbound#I actually don't recall if they mention who taught him to drive#But I don't think they did and it just occurred to me#Which is bad because 1am brain is probably squandering the comedic potential of it#Tori Dawson#Ezra Rowe#Aaron Sinclair#Kai Yamada

Aaron: Wow, Tori, you made it through 30 minutes of cardio without complaining. I'm actually impressed.
Tori, still watching Ezra work out in the mirror: You should be.

Replacing Me - Luke Hughes
Summary: Luke and Tori's relationship becomes more serious, but maybe John isn't as okay with it as he thought
content: fluff, angst, past relationships, oc x ex!john marino, money issues, mentions of sex but no actual smut, arguing, physical fighting (not between any couples)
wc: 2.9k
notes: PART 3 of 'Done Trying'!! So go ahead and read the first two parts if you haven't! 'Done Trying' and 'Past Relationships' !! I'm loving writing this series!! Super excited to write this one!! I love writing Tori and Luke's relationship. But get ready for some angst between John and Luke in this one!! Enjoy!!!
Tori tossed and turned, making the boy next to her grumble. He furrowed his brow, rolling over to face her.
"Go to sleep," he slurred with his eyes closed.
"I can't."
"Mm," he moaned, his snores filling the air once more. Tori rolled her eyes, flipping onto her side for the hundredth time. John let out a deep sigh, throwing an arm over her waist, pulling her into his chest. She gasped, but made no attempt to escape him. He slow rise and fall of his chest, lulled her into a sense of security and finally she was able to sleep.
Well... for a bit at least.
"MAMA!" wails filled the apartment, seeming even louder through the baby monitor on the bedside table. "MAMAAAA!"
"I've got him," John stretched, presssing a kiss to Tori's cheek. He pulled himself out of the bed, padding down the hall to Riley's room.
"Shhh. It's okay, Ri-Ri. Daddy's here."
Tori would never admit it, but hearing John speak to Riley made her heart swell. He was so sweet with their son, never raising his voice, never getting cross. He was the best dad that she could ask for. And it made her want to jump his bones. She shook her head, she shouldn't think of John like that. She's seeing Luke now.
But John's sleepy voice sounded so hot coming through the baby monitor. She groaned, shoving her head in her pillow. Maybe she was just horny.
"Shhh. Everything's okay. Mama and Dada are here," John rocked the toddler back and forth, patting his back soothingly. "Dada's here. I'm not going anywhere."
Five minutes later, John was back in the bed, spooning his ex-girlfriend. Riley had settled pretty quickly compared to most nights and the couple couldn't have been happier to get their rest.
"Thanks, babe," Tori mumbled sleepily.
"No worries. That's what I'm here for," John yawned, tucking his head in the crook of Tori's neck.
And for the first time in weeks, Riley slept until 7 in the morning.
"MAMA!"
"Coming baby!" Tori exclaimed, pulling Riley out of his crib. "How'd you sleep? Did Winnie the Pooh give you good dreams?"
Riley nodded, hugging his stuffed animal to his chest.
"Dada!"
"Hi, baby!"
Tori turned, blushing slightly at the shirtless John standing in the doorway. He smirked, noticing the redness on her cheeks.
"Dada! Home!"
"Yeah, Dada's at our house! Isn't that crazy?"
"Cwazy!"
"Let's get you into some clean clothes! You okay to make breakast, John?"
"Sure," he shrugged. "We have an afternoon practice. But I'll be home for dinner."
"Sounds good!"
"Hey, Johnny! Running a little late today?" Nico laughed. Most of the boys were already dressed in their gear when John entered the Devils locker-room.
"Yeah, sorry. Riley was upset I was going."
"Riley?"
"Hm? Yeah, staying at Tori's for a bit. Working on getting Riley on a set bedtime routine."
"Oh. How'd you sleep?"
"Actually pretty well, considering we have a two-year-old in the house," he chuckled, throwing on his pads.
"You're staying at Tori's?" Luke asked, his brow furrowed.
"Yeah. Ri's been having some trouble sleeping."
"How long you staying?" Nico asked, not sensing the tension obviously coming from Luke.
"Two weeks... ish. Until we can get him down for a full night and keep it that way."
"Might be able to rekindle the relationship, eh, Johnny," Dawson laughed, clapping his teammate on the back. Luke frowned, the laces of his skates suddenly becoming much more interesting than the conversation at hand.
"Who knows," John laughed awkwardly, taping his socks.
"Let's go boys!" Lindy's voice echoed through the room, calling the boys onto the ice.
Luke was off all practice. His passes were shit and every shot he attempted on net missed. He noticed the worried looks from his brother and captain, but shrugged them off not wanting any attention on him. Did everyone want John and Tori to get back together? He didn't know much about their relationship before he joined the team. Maybe they were a power couple and that's why everyone wanted them together. Maybe everyone thought that he and Tori would be a bad match. Maybe they thought Luke was trying to replace John in Riley's life. Maybe...
"Luke! You good? I've called your name like four times," Jack waved his hand in front of his brother's face, driving down the street to their apartment.
"Huh? I'm fine."
"You sure? You didn't seem like your head was in it at practice."
"No, I'm fine. Just an off day, ya know?"
"Sure do. But, I'm here if you ever wanna talk about anything."
"I know, Jack," Luke forced a smile, checking his phone to see if Tori had responded to the text he'd sent two days before. But still there was nothing. Not even a thumb up. Just radio silence.
"'ockey!" Riley cheered, running in circles around the carpet in the living room. Tori was hoping he'd wear himself down enough to sleep all night. She'd put on a random highlight video of Sidney Crosby she'd found on YouTube and Riley was eating it up. "'ockey!"
John was standing in the kitchen, watching the scene unfold while we ate some leftover chicken parm. He'd done an extra training session with Holtzy that day and had missed dinner, much to his dismay because Tori had made his favourite.
"Let's use our inside voice, Riley. What if Ms. Nelson is trying to sleep?" Tori warned. Ms. Nelson was the elderly woman that lived across the hall. She'd been the biggest help over the last two years, especially in navigating motherhood. Tori wasn't sure she'd have been able to do it without her neighbour. She was like a third grandma to Riley.
Riley raised a finger to his mouth, "Shhh."
"That's right. We're quiet when people are sleeping. Let's use our quiet voice while we play. Okay?"
"O-tay, Mama."
"Good boy," she grinned, ruffling his dark curls. She quickly flipped over her phone that buzzed, skimming over the text from Luke, before placing it down on the table. She wasn't trying to ignore Luke. She just wasn't sure he'd understand the current situation, seeing as he wasn't a parent himself. Maybe she'd made a mistake by starting something with a 20-year-old. She was also trying not to use her phone as much in front of Riley. She and John didn't want him growing up depending on a screen for entertainment. He got a bit of TV time in the morning and a bit in the evening before bed but that was it. He didn't have a tablet, like many of the kids that Tori had seen at her parenting classes.
"Dada! Play!"
"I'm coming," John smiled, putting his empty plate in the sink. This was the first time he'd noticed that Tori's apartment didn't have a dishwasher. Did she do all the dishes by hand? She must have.
Tori clicked off the TV, watching her son sit criss-cross across from his dad. She placed the little bin of farm toys between the two, pressing a kiss to Riley's head, brushing some curls from his eyes.
"I'm going to take a bath. You alright with him for half an hour?"
"Of course. Enjoy your bath, Vic."
Vic. That wasn't a name that left John's mouth often. It was always "Tori" or "Victoria." Vic had been a name he used when they were dating. And the sound of it made her heart break a bit.
She had just settled into her steaming hot bath when her phone started ringing, ruining her peace. She sighed, flipping it over to see Luke's name flashing across the screen. She let it ring through, placing it back down on the counter. With her book and a glass of wine, she finally got a moment to relax. Maybe life with John was better than she remembered.
"Luke. I know you're not alright. What's going on?" Jack nagged, knocking his shoulder with Luke's.
"I... Tori hasn't been answering me."
"She's got a kid, Rusty. She never answers her phone."
"She was before John moved back in with her."
"Family bonding time?" Jack shrugged, "Don't let it get to you this much. You guys aren't even officially dating."
"So? I thought we were getting somewhere."
"Tori's hard to read. If I've learned anything from John, it's that. And Riley is her main focus in life. Nothing comes before Riley, including answering her texts."
"But she doesn't even answer at night when Riley's probably in bed."
"Dude, that's her time to relax. John told me that Riley has been a nightmare child recently. Give her some time. I'm sure she'll come around."
Luke just sighed, checking his phone again to see if she'd answered. Nothing.
John had taken Riley for walk, giving Tori some very much needed alone time. She was going through some emails when her phone rang again.
Luke Hughes
Accept. Decline.
"Hello?"
"H-hey, Tori. How've you been?" Luke sounded nervous.
"I'm alright. Yourself?"
"Okay. I, uh, I was wondering if you wanted to hangout again sometime."
"Oh, um, yeah. I just... I'm kinda busy with Riley right now. He's been a bit of a handful."
"I, uh, I could come help out.... if you want."
"That's really nice of you to offer, Luke. But John's here helping out."
"Oh. Are you... are you guys getting back together?"
Tori pinched the bridge of her nose, "No, Luke. You know what, let's go out tonight."
"Really?"
"Really," she smiled.
"You- you can come here! Jack's going out with some friends."
"Wow. Bold, Hughes. You trying to sleep with me?" she giggled.
"What?! No! No! That's not- that's not what I meant!"
"I know. I'm just teasing. I'll be over around 7. I just need to make sure that John has everything to put Ri to bed. Sound good?"
"Perfect. I'll see you then."
"We're home!"
"We 'ome!"
"My boys are home!" Tori grinned, spinning Riley around in her arms. "How was the park?"
"We 'ide!"
"You went on the slide?"
"Yeah," Riley clapped, running off to play with his Duplo.
"How was he?"
"So good. A few tears when I told him he couldn't have two snacks before dinner. But besides that, all was well."
"He use the bathroom?"
"Yep!"
"Riley! Good job, baby! Such a big boy!"
"Tank 'oo, Mama!"
"I, uh, I'm going to Luke's for a bit tonight."
"Hughes?"
"Yeah."
"That's still going on?"
"Why... why wouldn't it be?"
"I thought... never mind."
"No. You thought what?"
"You were focusing on our family right now."
"Am I not allowed to take some time for myself?"
"That's not what I'm saying, Victoria. Don't twist my words."
"Then what are you saying, John?"
"You just... I gave you the whole day to have time for yourself."
"And I appreciate that. But I spent it working to make money to support me and our child."
"How many times do I have to tell you that I can give you more money if you need it?" he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I don't want your pity money, John."
"It's not pity money! I'm giving it so you and our son can have a good life."
"Are you saying that I'm not giving our son a good life?" her eyes started to water.
"No! God! Why do you always twist my fucking words?!"
"Don't swear in front of Riley!"
"Go to Luke's."
"What?"
"GO!"
Tori was wiping her eyes with the back of her hand when Luke opened the door. His eyes widening when he saw the state she was in.
"Tori? I, uh, I wasn't expecting you for another two hours."
"I'm sorry. I just, uh, I had an argument with John. Can I come in?" she sniffled.
"Yeah, of course. Sorry. Come in, come in."
The two of them got comfortable on the couch, Luke wrapping his arm around her smaller frame.
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"If you don't mind," she wiped her nose with the sleeve of her hoodie.
"Of course I don't."
"He, uh, he accused me of not taking time for our family. That I'm taking too much time for myself."
"That's not true. You spend so much time worrying about Riley. God, I didn't hear from your for a week! Riley's your number one priority."
"John can't see that," the tears started back up. "Then he offered me money. But, I felt like he was accusing me of not providing enough for Riley. I just... does he think I'm a bad mom?"
"Shh, Tori. You're not a bad mom. You- you're an amazing mom! Riley always looks so happy when I see him! You're like the best mom ever... well maybe after my mom, but... you get the point."
She giggled through her tears, listening to Luke's heartbeat for comfort.
"Thanks, Luke. I'm sorry. This probably wasn't what you were expecting."
"It's fine, Tori. Any time spent with you is good enough for me."
"You're too sweet," she sighed, meeting his eyes. He brushed a piece of hair behind her ear, pressing a chaste kiss to her lips.
"Do you want to spend the night here?" he offered.
"I-"
"Don't worry. John's got Riley. He'll be fine."
"I don't want to be a bother."
"You'll never be a bother to me, Victoria."
Was it too soon to be in love with this man? Because Victoria could feel herself falling already.
"I'll stay then," she smiled sadly, pressing another kiss to his lips. He hummed, kissing her back.
"Should we watch a movie?" he asked, not wanting it to seem like he was taking advantage of her when she was down.
"Sure," she smiled. What a gentleman.
Tori woke up to fifty texts and ten missed calls from John.
Are you coming home?
Hello?
Victoria
Victoria?
Are you okay?
I shouldn't have yelled. Please come back.
I got Riley to sleep, I think.
Hey?
Vic?
Please come home.
Vic?
Please.
I'm sorry
Vic?
Text me when you see these please
Riley slept through the night
I need you here from I leave for practice. For Riley. Not for me.
Victoria, don't be like this. Riley needs his mom
She attempted to pull away from Luke, but he was quick to pull her back into his chest.
"Don't go," he mumbled sleepily.
"I've gotta go, babe. You've got practice. And I have a toddler that needs his mom."
"Five more minutes."
"Luke," she giggled, flipping in his arms. She ran a hand through his curls, her fingers catching on a couple knots. "God, your hair is almost as bad as Riley's."
"Mmm."
"Come on, sleepyhead. Rise and shine."
He slowly opened his eyes, smiling cheekily at the girl in his arms. He leaned to give her a kiss, but was quickly rejected.
"I have morning breath."
"I don't care."
"Luke!" she squealed as he pressed kisses all over her face. "Luke!"
"I'll see you later?" he asked, finally getting a peck on the lips.
"Of course. I'll text you."
"Will you? Last time you said that you ignored me for a week."
"It was a long week, Lukey. I'll text you. I promise," she intertwined her pinky with this, finally pulling herself out of bed.
"Victoria! You're home! Thank God! I was getting worried," John rambled, running a hand through his hair. Tori could tell from how dishevelled it was, that he'd been doing that for a while.
"Of course, I am. I live here in case you forgot," she sassed, throwing her keys in the little bowl on the counter.
"Ri's been worried about you. He said I don't his 'babas' right."
"You probably don't," she shrugged, cooing at her son in his booster seat. "Hi, baba! Mama's home. She just had to go see a friend for a bit."
"You stay at Ally's?" John asked, picking up a piece of egg that Riley had chucked on the floor.
"No."
"Then who- you stayed at Luke's?"
"It's frankly none of your business, John."
He sighed, "You know what, I'm going to practice. I might be home after. If I feel like it. Since that's what we're doing now."
Riley cried as the door slammed shut, just making Tori angrier. God, now she remembered why shit with John didn't work out.
John stormed into the locker room, his target locked in on. Luke Warren Hughes. Number 43. Who was sat innocently in his stall, laughing at something his brother had said.
"You think it's okay to sleep with Tori?" John fumed, pushing the boy's shoulder. Luke was taken by surprise, falling backwards into the wall.
"What?"
"You think it's okay to take my child's mother away for night?! Leave me having NO idea where she is?! Huh?!"
"John-"
"Stay out of it!" he seethed. Luke stood up, puffing his chest out. If John wanted a fight, then a fight he'd get. "You think it's fine to whore around with Tori?"
"She needed me. You made her cry, if I'm remembering correctly," Luke shot back.
"She isn't supposed to need you! She's supposed to need me!" John pushed him again, earning a shove in return. Everyone was gathered around, silently watching.
"Well, you're doing a shit job at supporting her!"
That was it, John lurched forward, tackling Luke to the ground. His fist connected with the rookie's jaw. Another punch, this time from Luke. Another. Another.
"ENOUGH!" Nico pulled John off, holding him back. Jack grabbed Luke with the help of Dawson. Luke spat some blood on the floor, breathing heavily. He wanted nothing more than to make John feel the pain that he had made Tori feel emotionally the night before.
The locker room fell into silence, suddenly the door swung open.
"What is going on here?!"

Highlander characters I'm (still) looking forward to writing
This is a small list featuring characters from the Highlander series I'm looking forward to writing, and enjoying writing still, here we go!
Honorable Mention 1. Connor MacLeod - he's not in the main story outside the first chapter. Probably for the best. Here's a silver lining for Connor fans, he will be featured in a couple of Earth N stories being When Worlds and Dangers Collide as he is already in "The Magic Within," too.
Honorable Mention 2. Cassandra and the Horsemen arc - It'll be interesting to write her interactions with her boyfriend Jack (an Immortal already introduced to Earth N), plus there's the Horsemen arc and Richie and Tori will be involved too. We'll see how it turns out when we reach the Season 5 arc.
5. Joe Dawson - MacLeod's Watcher; he's also acts a bit of a father figure to both Tori and Richie whenever there wasn't issues regarding Immortals and Watchers.
4. Methos - He is one of the oldest living Immortals in existence; It'll be interesting to write alias Adam Pierson, and thanks to Tori, Richie knows about Methos sooner than he originally had. Methos would also get Tori and Richie out of Supernatural jam.
3. Amanda - the Catwoman to Duncan's Batman; she's also Tori's first teacher; the fun fact with her is she will be featured in episodes in Earth N retelling which she didn't originally appear in. Amanda and Tori would be a mother - daughter relationship.
2. Duncan MacLeod - The Highlander; @james5-doe wrote a compelling plot where Hadea and Duncan's clans knew each other. It'd be interesting to see that in flashbacks; Duncan is a father to Richie and supports his relationship with Tori.
1. Richie Ryan - He has more screentime than he did in the actual Highlander series; it'll be interesting to see his involvement in episodes he originally didn't appear in too such as "Finale", "Brothers in Arms", "Reunion", and the two parter Horsemen episodes among others.

I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT DAWSONS CHRISTIAN
I LOVE THAT SONG-
@nsfwitchy (you have good music taste pls gimme the rest of ur narrative songs)
IT'S SUCH A GREAT SONG. Also a favorite for singing along to, it can be so much fun in that telling-a-story kind of tone.
Man, where do we start, I love narrative songs nad I have way too many. XD Let's see, I might be stretching the definition slightly, some are more "songs clearly about a character in a way that sketches a story around it" if that makes sense, but --
Heather Dale does a lot, most is based on mythology/legends, but some favorites: Sedna, The Maiden and the Selkie, Joan, Skeleton Woman, Up Into the Pear Tree
SJ Tucker also does this a lot, often based on books. Seanan McGuire also does this a fair bit, but it's hard to find her music online. I am under the impression Talis Kimberly does this a fair bit too, but the only songs of hers I know well enough to recommend are Still Catch the Tide (which I REALLY REALLY do), Archetype Cafe, My Lady of the Underpass, and Small Mended Corners
Vixy & Tony: The Girl That's Never Been, The Collars, Ladies Don't Do Those Things, Thirteen, Persephone, Siren Song, Anna
Dessa also does a lot in a MUCH different tone; If and When is maybe my favorite, but also Mineshaft 2, Children's Work, Dixon's Girl, Skeleton Key, I Hope I'm Wrong, and if you don't mind some intense subject matter, The Lamb and Annabelle
Vienna Teng: 1br/1ba, Say Uncle, Shasta (Carrie's Song), Homecoming (Walter's Song), Passage, Grandmother Song, Radio
The Doubleclicks: Wrong About Gender, Now I Am the Fastest, Lasers and Feelings
Radical Face basically has like. a narrative career. at least three albums (the Family Tree albums + The Bastards) form the stories of various characters, starting with one family and sprawling from there. there are charts. the songs are beautiful alone and scratch this itch as well, but when you see the narratives develop it gets even better. special mentions: The Dead Waltz, Holy Branches, Secrets (Cellar Door)
Relatedly, Jordan Reyne's album Children of a Factory Nation tells a story through the album, and Mama Gina's album Nine-Toes the Bard is told in-character, giving the title character's life story and things that have happened around her
Dar Williams: The Christians and the Pagans; The Ocean; When I Was a Boy; The Babysitter's Here; This Is Not the House That Pain Built; The Pointless, Yet Poignant, Crisis of a Co-Ed; Mortal City
Sleeping at Last: Next to Me, Mars
Kat Flint: London Lullaby, Ohio, Saddest Blue Dress
Ani Difranco: Both Hands, Fixing Her Hair, Two Little Girls
I feel like I could name quite a few comedy songs that do this? Easier to make a joke from. XD But I'm specifically gonna go from the Brobdingnagian Bards for now, not all of which are original: Do Virgins Taste Better Medley, A Prudent Theif, A Fairy Story, The Unicorn Song, The Orange and the Green, Oor Hamlet
Misc:
Come On Eileen (Dexy's Midnight Runners)
A Better Place, A Better Time (Streetlight Manifesto)
Winter's Carol (Tori Amos)
Next to Me (Alan Cumming)
One Last Drink (Enter the Haggis)
Brother (Murder by Death)
My Manic and I (Laura Marling)
Anywhere On This Road (Lhasa de Sela)
Space Girl (The Imagined Village)
Home (Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros)
Fairies Stole My Keys (Emerald Rose)
Taylor, The Latte Boy (Kristen Chenoweth, but also the Alan Cumming version is adorable)
Hit and Run (LOLO)
The Wintry Queen (Coyote Run is my favorite of the available covers)
Pierre (Ryn Weaver)
Magic Man (Heart)
The Way (Fastball)
Your House (Alanis Morissette)
Larissa's Lagoon (Idina Menzel)
-- I feel like I'm gonna hit post and immediately think of like twenty more but that is probably. way more than enough. XD
#I REALLY LIKE SHARING MUISC okay#I'm very sorry to everyone who gives me an excuse to do so#cause I WILL take it#I don't know how likely any of these are to be new to you specifically#or anyone in general#i am really bad at figuring out what most people know XD#but hopefully a couple interest you!

WWE Raw Reunion Review
Ugh, of all Raws for me to have to watch late, I decided to miss this one. That is certainly unfortunate, but here I am now, reviewing the show late. Lets see how good it was.
It started out on a pretty good note. John Cena came out first. He gave Stu the camera guy his classic shout out, which I really did miss, and he ran down into the ring. He poked fun at how they never used to cheer him, but they did now. He announced that Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, DX, and Steve Austin would be there. Cena said that Raw is his home, and it always will be, no matter how long he is gone. He then threw it to the Usos, who came out to share some mic time with one of the best. They said that they could have a rap battle with Cena, which he seemed apprehensive about, but eventually decided to do it after the Usos insulted him for going Hollywood. He then said that they looked just like their mug shots when they got arrested. He then was about to leave, but Rikishi came out! That was certainly unexpected. Rikishi got in the ring, and tried to get Cena to dance. The four were about to dance, when the Revival interrupted with D Von Dudley. Then they cut away and said that there was a match between the Revival and Usos next.
Grade: B-. This segment got a little long by the time it ended, but it was great to see Cena back. His line about the mug shots was funny. Rikishi was good to see too, but it didn’t need to be as long as it was.
As the Usos vs. The Revival started out, Booker T came out to the announce team. He was actually doing pretty well early on, so that was interesting. The Revival had the advantage early on, beating on Jey, and even pushing him off the top rope to the barricade at one point. At another, Jimmy went for a crossbody to Dash Wilder, but Scott Dawson pushed him away and got hit himself. The Revival then hit an awesome european uppercut into a german suplex combination, with the pin broken up by Jey. Jey then clotheslined Wilder out of the ring, which prompted Rikishi and D-Von to argue.
Grade: C+. We have seen this match too many times for it to be really enjoyable, so it was fine. It should have been a title match, because we don’t need to see this for the titles at Summerslam. The Good Brothers and the Usos would be a much more fresh match.
Backstage, Alicia Fox talked to Dana Brooke and Kaitlyn about her hat, which was funny. Fox wanted a 12 foot tall hat. Tori Wilson and Santino then joined her, and they all were just laughing and joking around, until Drew McIntyre walked in, simply muttering “legends,” and then walking away.
Backstage, we had R-Truth and Carmella being interviewed about his time at comic con. The Hurricane showed up during one of his interviews there, trying to pin him, as did Drake Maverick. They then cut back to live Raw, where Drake Maverick’s wife showed up to yell at Carmella and Truth, but as they were arguing, Maverick pinned him and won the belt. As they all ran away, grandmaster sexay showed up and danced with Charly Caruso. How fun.
We went right into a rematch from last week. Cedric Alexander vs. Drew McIntyre. Before the match started, the two fought in the isle. Alexander actually had the advantage for much of it, but he sold his ass off when he had to. McIntyre beat the hell out of him, even giving Alexander an inverted Alabama slam into the apron. The match never actually started.
Grade: B-. This was fine, I wish that they would have an actual competitive match though. It could be great.
Backstage again, Drake Maverick was running through the locker room to get his stuff, and found that one of his bags was filled with worms, and the boogyman showed up, and Maverick fell and Pat Patterson came in to beat down Maverick, winning the belt! I’m glad they had that, it was funny.
Then they had Christian come out for some commentary for a Viking Raiders match, awesome to see him. I don’t watch his network show, so it’s been a while. Lillian Garcia came back to be the ring announcer for this match as well, nice to see her too. It was Viking Raiders vs. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder. Hawkins and Ryder attacked right at the bell, and tried to beat down the much larger opponents. However, Viking Raiders quickly got the advantage and beatdown the faces. They quickly won with the Viking Experience.
Grade: B-. Inoffensive squash. Christian was funny on commentary.
Backstage again, Mike Kanellis was being yelled at by Maria. Eve Torres and Eric Bischoff were also there, as Maria yelled at him for not being the breadwinner and that he wouldn’t be able to care for their baby. Then Ron Simmons showed up and said Damn. I love Ron Simmons. But I hate this story.
Then we saw the Club backstage, with their new “OC” shirts on, saying that they are the original club and the only one that matters. They said that they run Monday nights, and no one else, especially not Seth Rollins. So now WWE is throwing shade at the Bullet Club OGs in Japan. God they are insecure lately.
Then we saw Gerald Brisco was shown winning the 24/7 championship, only for Kelly Kelly to win it from him. Love this. Too bad Carmella wasn’t the first woman 24/7 champion though, she deserved it.
Samoa Joe then came out. He talked about how Raw Reunion puts too much emphasis on the older talent. We need to move forward, not back, and let go of nostalgia. He basically just made a smark argument, and insulted Rikishi and the Usos, before Roman Reigns came out. The two stood toe to toe, and said that if he was gonna insult his family, then he knows what will happen next. Joe said that he knew, and they beat the crap out of each other in the ring and at ringside. Reigns came out on top, so Joe got back on the mic and said that he wouldn’t fight Reigns because he didn’t wanna give the fans what they wanted. He walked away, but Reigns called him a coward, so he accepted the challenge.
So, we went right into Samoa joe vs. Roman Reigns. Joe worked over the neck for most of the match. Reigns had a bit of a comeback, but Joe quickly put him back on the mat. Reigns threw Joe out to the floor in the finish, and then gave him a spear as he came back in the ring.
Grade: C+. Fine, but I just didn’t care. This was a classic heel dominant match into a big comeback. Not enough back and forth.
We then went right into Miz TV with Seth Rollins. He put over his show before welcoming Rollins out to the ring. Rollins made fun of Heyman and Lesnar a bit, which was funny at first but then became stupid the longer it went on. He called Lesnar a Seth Rollins wannabe. Heyman then cut a promo during the segment, and he tried to defend Lesnar, but Rollins was kinda owning him. Rollins then told him that if he was going to speak for Lesnar, he had to fight for him too. Heyman tried to talk him out of it, but ran away as Rollins started to approach him. Rollins then said that Lesnar wasn’t a beast or a conquerer, he was a man. And men can lose, just like he will lose at Summerslam. Then he mentioned his match with Styles tonight, and left.
Grade: B. Really good promo. It started out a bit shaky, but Rollins is great on the mic, and he did well to promote the summerslam match. Good stuff here.
Then we went back to the backstage party, where Charly was gonna interview the legends about Summerslam, but Sami Zayn walked up and absolutely wrecked all of them on the mic, saying that they were all just around at the right time and were pathetic for coming back for one last pop. Rey Mysterio then showed up and said that he needed to respect those who paved the way. Zayn said that he was fully willing to beat down Mysterio, when Kurt Angle showed up and basically just made the match.
Before that next match, Kelly Kelly ran around showing a bunch of people her new 24/7 championship, only to find out that Melina got her referee license, and Candice Michelle pinned her. Then Alundra Blayze showed up and tapped out Michelle, saying that if anyone had a problem with her being the champion, they should tell her to her face.
Then we went right into Mysterio vs. Zayn. Jonathan Coachman joined the commentary booth, and they were having a pretty good match. They beat the crap out of each other, with Zayn hitting an awesome blue thunder bombfor a near fall. Zayn almost got hit by the 619, and was about to walk out of the match when Rob Van Dam, The Hurricane, Sgt. Slaughter and Kurt Angle showed up. They approached him and forced him back in the ring, so Mysterio gave him the 619 and the five star frog splash for RVD and the win.
Grade: B. Pretty fun match, and I always like seeing Sgt. Slaughter. I’m shocked that RVD showed up, given his appearances on Impact lately. But the match was pretty good, and I liked seeing the legends.
The Street Profits were backstage, singing about the Reunion. Montez Ford found Angelo Dawkins putting eye drops in, asking if he was skating with the pilots (smoking weed). Dawkins responded that he was hanging out with RVD, so he was smoking weed. He said that he hung out with Mark Henry, Kelly Kelly, and Ric Flair, but they had to leave cuz the Boogyman was there. And Dawkins had to leave because the Godfather gave him a call. As he walked away, Ford looked hurt. That was funny.
Then Alundra Blayze came out and tried to drop the 24/7 championship in the trash can, but Ted Dibiase came out. He offered to buy the 24/7 championship from her. He gave her a wad of cash, and she gave him the 24/7 championship. He cackled and left. This is the best 24/7 stuff yet.
Jerry Lawler came out to commentary next. Styles had a new entrance thing, with the screen just saying “the only club that matters.” I was annoyed at first, but it really is great heat. The two started out with some striking and shoulder tackles, going back and forth in the beginning of the match. Rollins was in control for a bit, only for Karl Anderson to distract him and allowed AJ to get control. The OC’s were about to attack Rollins, but DX, Shawn Michaels and Triple H came down to back him up. As the match continued, Rollins was about to hit Styles with the stomp, but the OC’s tripped him up. They attacked Rollins, and caused a DQ. They then offered the too sweet to DX, but they gave them the suck it and brawled with the OC’s. The OC’s then grabbed chairs, only for the Road Dogg, X-Pac, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. He said that Chyna’s spirit was with them, and that was about 7. Then he said “crap, I forgot Billy” and told the OC’s that they were the OG’s, and told them to get out of here. Road Dogg then gave Rollins the mic, and he gave the suck it.
Grade: B-. This was fun. Road Dogg is still great on the mic, and even yelling at Billy Gunn, who I think is in AEW now, was funny. The Club wasn’t buried too much, and we saw a lot of people. The match was pretty good too.
Backstage, we saw the Dibiase get in a limo, where there was a bunch of commotion, and Drake Maverick walked out of the limo as the champion.
Mick Foley then came out to talk about Raw, and put the program over. As he talked, Drake Maverick and the midcard ran through, and Foley vowed to win the 24/7 championship before the night was over. He then wanted to show his favorite moment, winning the championship on the big screen, but the Fiend showed up again, attacking him in the ring. Wyatt even used the mandible claw to take Foley down.
Grade: B. Wyatt is still badass, but Foley didn’t sell all that well. I am really excited to see where the Fiend story goes from here, because there was no Finn Balor. Good stuff though, I love this revamped Wyatt character.
Then we had a moment of bliss, with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. They welcomed Becky Lynch as their guest. They were about to start the interview, when Natalya came out and said that Lynch should say what she needed to to here face. Bliss just kinda sat around and stirred the pot in this segment. They talked about how they had similar journey, but Becky didn’t respect Natalya at all. Lynch said that Natalya betrayed her by offering to train Ronda Rousey, but she beat her anyway. Lynch said that the Raw Women’s Championship was Rousey’s scalp, and she wont let anyone take it from her. She then said that she’d embarrass Nattie in her home country and the two brawled.
Backstage, Natalya was interviewed about the brawl. Nattie said that Becky made this personal by saying that she built the women’s evolution rather than people like Nattie.
Grade: B+. Not as good as last week, but they were still really good on the mic together. That should be a great match, and I’m really excited for it.
Maverick was about to escape the arena in a limo with his wife, but Truth pinned him right outside of the limo. Renee was holding onto the belt and keeping him standing, but Carmella kicked her and he was rolled up for the win. Truth then jumped in the limo, and they drove off. Maverick was very upset that he lost both his wife and title.
24/7 grade: A. This was everything that a 24/7 story on Raw Reunion should have been. It was funny, lots of big names. and very entertaining. This is the best part of the show tonight.
Braun Strowman came out for a quick squash.
Grade: B-. This happened, and it was fine.
And in the main event, we had a toast to Raw. Out here was Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan. All the biggest names. The rest of the legends came out as well, paying respect to flair. Also, Alicia Fox was out there with them for some reason. I really do not know why, but for some reason it was wonderful. Hogan cut a nice little promo, but Ric Flair did not. Michael Cole put over the show, and finally Steve Austin came out at the very end. Thankfully, he got on the mic and said some words. He got the what chant, but he is the only person that it is okay when they do that. He put over everyone on the stage, saying that they did everything for this business, and called them his family. He called all the WWE fans family. He gave a nice little promo talking about some nice stories from his stay. He then invited everyone to the ring to share beer. It was a nice speech.
Grade: B+. Just nice to see everyone together and talking. IT was a good promo, and a nice nostalgia ride through Raw.
Overall Grade: B
Pros: Miz TV; Mysterio vs. Zayn; The Fiend; 24/7 stuff; toast to raw; fun nostalgia
Cons: not many good matches

1. song of the year?
according to spotify it’s funeral by phoebe bridgers (which is very true) but i would also say:
- conversation piece, julien baker
- love song, lana del rey
- carry me home, hem
- i believe, carrie newcomer
- easy / swansea / emily / no provenance, joanna newsom (i want to say her entire discography but these were the songs that really Hit this year, you know?)
- didn’t know what i was in for, better oblivion community centre
- what do you hear in these sounds / travelling again / i love i love, dar williams
- walk like thunder / all i can do, kimya dawson
- precious things, tori amos
that’s way too many but it’s impossible to just pick one you know how it is
5. tv show of the year?
i watched so many good shows for the first time this year, so i just have to list some bc i can’t pick:
- russian doll
- end of the f***ing world
- bojack horseman
- broadchurch
- sex education
- these aren’t really tv shows but a few of my fav stand up specials i watched this year (bc i need somewhere to mention them) are: stage fright by jenny slate / right now by aziz ansari / homecoming king by hasan minhaj / hard knock wife by ali wong
i’m sure there’s more bc i watched so much tv this year but these are the ones that are sticking out in my mind right now
14. favourite book you read this year?
little weirds by jenny slate is by far my favourite (although wayward son by rainbow rowell is pretty fucking close bc that’s how being 20 feels! that’s exactly how it feels! it feels like reeling out of control across the american desert lost and confused and sun burnt!)
but little weirds is just. so delicate but indestructible, if that makes sense. the imagery is unparalleled and the strange metaphors are perfectly crafted. it just makes me want to scream and cry and take better care of the spider plant in my window. it’s everything i try to live my life by: love and kindness and colours and flowers, but it also reminded me that these things and being a real, sweaty, imperfect human are not mutually exclusive. she talks about going out to eat and drinking and watching documentaries in the same essays she talks about flower petals and ancient castles. it reminded me i don’t have to divide up the things in my life, and that i don’t have to look like a picture-perfect waif to enjoy the aesthetic of the moors of scotland. i kept having to put it down because she just puts things so perfectly, in a way i’ve never read before. i have so many favourite passages, but here are two that immediately comes to mind:
“My physical heart feels so exposed, so shallowly planted. It feels like it is in my mouth. I can’t tell if I’m spitting it out or swallowing it. I can’t tell if I’m going to chomp it to bits just by trying to be here.” (from ‘Colour-Spirit,’ page 52)
“I would stick my tongue out like when you are trying to catch a snowflake and the rabbit would stick its tongue out too and press the delicate pink petal-tongue into my own tongue, like a stamp. Then eventually when I would speak again, all of the words would pass over my stamped tongue, and whatever I’d say would be marked by the rabbit stamp of acceptance that says, ‘I am a gentle creature. You can listen to me completely because I am not trying to hurt anything.’“ (from ‘beach animals,’ page 83)
19. what are you excited about for next year?
i’m not sure how to answer this question. i’m not really excited about much? that sounds very sad, but i’m scared to end this semester and i’m scared at the daunting task of re-making friends in class and having to do the whole ordeal of midterms and assignments and exams again. i’m scared to get a job and i’m scared to turn 21.time just keeps tumbling on, gaining speed with every age i turn, and i’m holding on for dear life and i think my hand keeps slipping a bit every year. i’ve been thinking a lot about being a kid lately, how much i want to turn back the years and be a wispy-haired girl spinning in the springy grass of the backyard. I know you can do those things as an adult and i know you can cultivate that wonder and joy again, but it’s hard and it’s different and i like easy ways out.
i guess i am excited for the sun to come back out and the weather to turn warm, which will happen next year. and i’m excited for season 2 of sex education and more b99 and more of more shows i’m forgetting right now. i’m excited to hear new stories and songs that will be made in 2020.
i’ll tell you what i want to happen next year: i want romance. i want heart-stopping romantic love. i want to find my person. that’s what my new year’s wish is. to find that person who will look into my soul and think “she’s the one i will love because the colours of her heart compliment mine and also they are very pretty shades of raspberry red and muted green and vibrant love and i would like to keep that in my life.” i want someone to see me and choose to stay and be okay with the fact that a lot of ‘normal’ things are hard for me.
anyway! thank you for the ask! sorry it got so long i love a lot of things and i like putting them into neat little lists and i like getting ramble-y about my thoughts to strangers on the internet
#about me#thank u girl i love yo so much#you're not a stranger but anyone else reading is#is what i meant#anyway ily#happy end-of-decade!#xoxo

TOP 2020 | URBAN FANTASY
Little Shade de Maeva Bonachera
Sasha Urban de Dima Zale
Sixième Monde de Rebecca Roanhorse

Tori: Hey, Robin, think you can make some snacks for the party?
Robin: As long as I make an equal number of snacks for Zylas, possibly.
Tori: A couple of extra bags of chips wouldn't hurt, then.

There's a film festival taking place where I live this weekend and, as luck would have it, two Spielberg stars were appearing: Karen Allen (of Raiders of the Lost Ark) and Olivia Cooke (who we'll soon be seeing in Ready Player One).
Cooke is appearing with her new film Katie Says Goodbye, and sadly I can't make it to that screening. Allen, meanwhile, is in attendance with her first directorial effort, the short A Tree. A Rock. A Cloud.
The film played on Friday night and while I missed it, I did get the chance to see Allen appearing on a Women in Film panel today. Alongside her were Stef Dawson (Hunger Games actress), Tori Butler Hart (Keeping Rosie actress), Alicia Slimmer (Creedmoria director) and Bronwen Hughes (Harriett the Spy and Stander director).
It was a fascinating panel with lots of interesting areas touched upon, but below are the things that struck me the most.
- The Power of No. Allen mentioned how she'd come to realise the power (and difficulty) of simply saying no. Opportunities are so scant for women in film that it can be tempting to take anything and everything comes along. However, Allen insisted that it's vital to be able to say no to a project if it doesn't meet your standards, and explained how she'd explored but ultimately rejected a directing gig on the TV show Law and Order as it didn't seem right for her.
- TV is as difficult to crack as film. I'd always assumed that TV would be an easier medium for women to break into, simply because there are multiple episodes of a TV series (and therefore more opportunities). Sadly, this isn't the case. Hughes (who's directed episode of Breaking Bad) stated that coming onto a TV show as a director is particularly tricky because the cast and crew is already established and set in their way of working. This isn’t the case on a film, so it’s easier to make your mark on those you’re working with.
- Marketing fears films about girls. Hughes also recounted an experience she had with her film Harriet the Spy. She was developing the movie at the same time as a similarly themed film featuring a boy was being made. Hughes explained that while the boy film had a sky high marketing budget, Harriet had to make do with a much smaller one. The reason? Films with girls are less popular. Hughes called this a self-fulfilling prophecy (if a film doesn't have enough marketing budget of course it won't be seen) and sadly it's still true today. I thought back to the toy marketing for The Force Awakens and how Rey seemed sidelined. I hope that changes for The Last Jedi.
All in all, it was a fascinating and revealing discussion. Check out more about Karen Allen's A Tree. A Rock. A Cloud. on its website and watch the trailer above.

Amalia: You know what? I'm going to launch a study to prove that shorter people are more angry than taller ones. It's the only way to explain Zylas. Tori: What about Robin? Amalia: She is, as always, an anomaly. Tori: Right. And you're sure it's not because Zylas is a demon? Amalia: That's too cliché.

Kit: A party is a celebration of a life, bringing people together to let the guest of honor know how much they’re loved. Zak has done so much for us. This is our chance to do something for him. Tori: By forcing him to have fun at a party that he doesn’t want to be at? Kit: I knew you’d understand.

Aaron: Hey, look! Tori left her phone here. *Aaron starts opening Tori's phone* Ezra: Come on, Aaron, put it back. Aaron, while batting off Ezra: Wait, I'm just about to get to her search history. "Most commonly ordered drinks at bars", Well, that's not very interesting. Let's see, "How to tend bar", "Easy tricks you can do with a mixer", "How to make a margarita", and, my personal favorite "How mak Commonwelth." Aaron: Ezra, I think Tori lied on her resumé.

Valentine's Day Special
Tori: Protip about relationships, you can call them all sorts of cheesy shit and they have to sit there 'cause they love you. I call my boyfriend "lover." If I ask him "who's the cutest boy in the whole world?" he has to sit there, whole six feet of grown-ass man with a news anchor voice and say "I am."
~
Kit, texting Lienna: If you were here I'd offer you a segment of my orange
~
Amalia: I wanna date someone cuter than me, but sadly, I am the cutest
~
Zak: Each time I tell you those three words I mean them more and more...leave me alone.
~
Robin: Have you seen my boyfriend? Look at him! He’s so beautiful!
Amalia: Didn’t he want to kill you last week?
Robin: Irrelevant.
