Sum Small Observations On 1114

I find it interesting that Akainu is letting Vegapunk’s message sound off, even after such unbelievable news. It seems like he expected something like this to be going on, or was truly interested in seeing just what the gorosei were up to. He’s certainly tired of being a political puppet, and knowing that the people in charge stopping him from enacting his justice are comfortable with the power to sink the entire globe while neglecting to acknowledge pirates forming entire nations would probably be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Another thing I’ll note is Doffy’s allusion to the red line. Is he hinting at always knowing in the first place, or teasing Magellan into realizing that there’s a true reason why Mariejois is so high up? Is he doing this to feel some kind of superiority in knowing this, or something else? Just how much does this man know?
