Summary: “They’re calling about an orphaned boy,” Pepper says, her confused frown clear in her voice. “His whole family was killed in a car crash, and when they asked him if there was anyone he could stay with, he gave them your name. He says you know him.” Tony finally looks up, frowning a little. “Uh, ok,” he says, and thinks that it’s probably some random kid he signed a poster for once who’s hoping to be adopted by Iron Man. “Not likely, but whatever. Who’s the kid?” Pepper glances back down at her notes. “Harley Keener,” she says. Tony falls off his chair. [Or, how Tony Stark came to adopt Harley Keener.]

I laugh and side eye this list:
https://www.cracked.com/image-pictofact-8592-15-biggest-mcu-blunders-of-the-last-decade-give-or-take?utm_source=facebookCKD&utm_medium=link_new_image&utm_campaign=social-account&fbclid=IwAR050ChWbjgA_9Zg3493z_72oTTmEPt1m8nQ-_KZyPEF5gOTcwRCW4deJ_s&utm_source=Facebook%20CRD&utm_medium=photo_w_bitly&utm_campaign=social%20account
For example:
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure the real blunder is making Steve's third movie a stealth "Iron Man 4" and giving Tony Stank narrative protection. 🤨
I've heard a million different things about the Committee. In reddit, they're evil incarnate. On this site, most fans love them. It's kinda funny.
That list is weird because they mix a whole lot of different things together. They claim the Russos knew what to do with Thanos? Yeah, they tried to make him sympathetic. Top job there. Poor genocidal maniac, let's give him a hug 🤢
But that pic you shared... It would have made sense for them to work together because the story we see on CW is utterly stupid. They turn on Steve so damn quickly, they're super quick to judge Bucky for no damn reason (we didn't see any of that in AoU with Wanda and Pietro. They accept two strangers despite what they have done, but one crappy CCTV video and that's enough for them to condemn Bucky? And it's Steve's judgement that's askew? Sure, because Stark is the poster boy for rational thought... 🙄). What kind of team are they that they won't even listen to one another?
We had a fight because the MCU wanted the videos and the social media reactions and the toys, but... in-universe it hurt the team greatly. Not to mention the movie felt more like a way to kiss Stark's ass than an actual story.
So yeah, a movie where Stark is left alone with his ego and pride, and the entire team goes together to Siberia to stop Zemo, would have been much better. Or better yet, a Steve Rogers movie that focused on Steve Rogers would have been even better. That's the actual blunder!

I think it's weird how like. the avengers/other superheroes aren't comparable to anything in the real world, but the mcu is also constantly trying to compare them to something. like in phase one they're sort of military esque?? with the exception of tony and steve, people aren't like aware of them as people, they just kind of exist alongside the military as super weapons.
then in the cacw-endgame era they're all at a certain level of celebrity status. peter obviously knows who tony stark is and idolizes iron man to a certain extent, but the only sort of memorabilia he has is the mask from the stark expo, which given the everything about tony, makes sense, and in context is not a rlly weird thing to have.
and then now, a lot of them are treated fully as fictionalized/mythologized characters?? kamalas room is COVERED, not only in her own captain marvel fanart, but also in official posters and merch. she has captain marvel tshirts that have comic book covers on them, as if she exists in our world where captain marvel is a fictional superhero and not like. an asset of the US air force. she's writing fanfic about a woman who has not been seen publicly since the 90s?? which tbf, I guess people writing beatles rpf are in similar trenches.

Marvel "Solo" Films- Unpopular Opinion
I don't know if there will be a 3rd solo/stand alone Black Panther film, but so far I'd say the Black Panther movies are the most consistent stand alone films in the MCU.
Black Panther was a cultural phenomenon with one of the best villains in the entire MCU. The cast, the world-building, COSTUMES, music. The only downside was that the 3rd act fight was dark. Wakanda Forever was a meaningful study in grief with perhaps the best teaser trailer EVER. Again, great cast, music, costumes, world-building. HEART. Namor was compelling. A little overstuffed w Iron Heart & Val on top of well-done Talokon. M'Baku stands out in both films. Nakia, Ramonda, Okoye & the Dorae. The tone from one film to the other is CONSISTENT.
Iron Man trilogy- the first Iron Man movie was awesome. Darker, grittier than much of the rest of the MCU. RDJ becoming Tony Stark. Cool suits/tech. Funny. Sad. Awesome. And then... the sequels kind of sucked. Yes, they had cool tech & stunts & RDJ carried them. But Tony pissing the suit? Bird? Fake Mandarin? *Cringe* They were bad.
My beloved, Captain America. Chris Evans did a great job as Steve Rogers. More nuanced & less flashy/quippy than Tony Stark, but great. CATFA was a sweet little comics movie w vintage vibe. Red Skull is a campy villain done as well as they could. Pretty good movie, not groundbreaking. BUT THEN- Captain America the Winter Soldier happened. It made Cap a badass. Fight scenes were AMAZING. Elevator scene! Cap & WS in the streets & at the end! Cap vs Quinjet! Nick Fury car chase. Black Widow badassery. Winter Soldier was scary & Hydra menacing. A tight, well-directed, well-written, well-edited, overall great FILM. Best of the MCU. PEAK Steve Rogers characterization. Yes. LOVED CATWS. So, then, Marvel said... "fuck Steve Rogers and his fans" (forever bitter & fuck you too Marvel). "RDJ's aging out & he makes $$$$. Let's give him Cap's 3rd film cuz BatmanVSuperman is coming & we're scared." IF you look at CACW as a Cap film, then Tony would be the villain. He's the 3rd act fight, the other face on the poster, the one trying to kill Steve. But, it's NOT a Cap film because Marvel couldn't suck RDJ off enough & could never nuance Tony's lack of emotional control as villainous. Nope. They made him Wooby crying out for his Mama. Waah! It's Avengers 2.5. It introduces Spiderman & Black Panther. It features every Avenger. It starts w Tony's early life trauma/loss of his parents/intro of his loving mom. (NO Sarah Rogers in Cap3, tho.) Then his guilt over lying & making Ultron & nearly ending the world. The longer end scene is Tony tending to his BF's injuries & sulking over Steve's apology. THEN we get a glimpse of Steve rescuing his friends from The Raft. Steve BARELY had more screen time than Tony in supposed Cap3. So, it's not a stand alone film. Cap fans were robbed.
The Thor films? Well. Uneven is an understatement. 1st Thor is kind of like the first Cap movie. Different tone. Deals well with campy comic elements. Branagh directed it as Shakespearean dramedy in space. Asgard is beautiful. Movie was made for the female gaze (like Mr. Hemsworth) and is a female fan fave. Thor the Dark World... is a dull follow-up. Malekith is the dullest villain ever. Dark Elves are so generic looking it's sad. If they'd been done differently, it could've had real menace. Lots of people are afraid of the dark, after all. Instead, Dark World is the most panned of all early Marvel films. Ragnarok is its polar opposite. Bright, colorful, comic-beautiful, but too funny. There's zero gravity to anything. Asgard explodes? Time for another joke. It's a fave, especially male fans. Thor is more badass in it, too. Loki is great. The faux tease of World War Hulk had fanboys delirious. And then there was Love & Thunder. Oh, L&T. Female fans were so excited for Mighty Thor/Jane Foster. Male fans were delirious that Gorr was coming & being played by Christian Bale. And, it's a huge flop. Again, comics beautiful. Too quippy, Taika. Not dark enough/wasted Gorr. Honestly, I enjoyed the kids/kiddishness because we took our son & he loved all that.
AntMan? The first was well done. Offbeat. Paul Rudd is CHARMING. Luis was the best thing in it. Scott's love for his daughter gave it HEART. Funny & fun. Great tone, though villain was meh. AntMan & the Wasp? Less fun. In big part that's because there were cast members phoning it in. Fishburne doesn't realize he was in it, FFS. Positive fam dynamic was too cheesily played. Meh. Then, Quantumania. Wait that may be the biggest flop of all MCU now. No stakes. No LUIS??? Exposition that something's coming? Lots of "care about these quirky characters you just met" and "listen... we're telling you Kang is bad... what? why should we show you?" Sigh. And... visuals were murky when the Quantum Realm should be vivid and sharp and vibrant and the most important element of the film.
Marvel is lucky so many fans have good imaginations and make their characters better than they did.

Mengapa Film Marvel Selalu Menjadi Box Office Hit?
Tumblr media

AAAAAA its so cool that our ages line up w that!
I'm gonna try to be brief lol. Also hi this is a sideblog for my superhero paracosm aka where I dumped my old mcu paras.
The plot changed around a lot but the basic idea was that HYDRA somehow got DNA from the main 6 Avengers and made clones of them. For one reason or another, the clones escape and eventually wind up at SHIELD, where they're taken in and given semi normal lives. These are my original test tube babies 😭
The new plot (aka the one in this paracosm) is relatively the same, except instead of HYDRA its this organization called "Arcaynis" that does all sorts of weird experiments ... tbh even though I don't focus on them much now, they're still pretty paracosm-important/relevant bc goddamn does Arcaynis do a lot of fuckery. Fuck Arcaynis all my homies hate Arcaynis.
JORDAN STARK (THEY/THEM)
I actually still daydream about them fairly frequently! They're part of a different paracom now, but still have origins in Assembled Monsters.
Being a clone of Tony Stark/Iron Man, they don't really have powers. They're more of a "guy behind the chair" person yknow. But! They were usually the one to kickstart the clones escaping. Wait sometimes they had electricity and super speed. Idk why stop asking questions. The power of ✨imagination✨
Oh they have a prosthetic arm! Yeah Rex/Laz ripped it off when they were about 6ish. Fun times.
REX (HE/HIM) & LAZARUS BANNER (HE/HIM)
Clone of Bruce Banner/The Hulk ... idk how HYDRA managed to get the "two for one" deal, but they did! I always waffled on if they were the same person or were more like the Jekyll/Hyde situation that Bruce had.
Despite Tony being my favorite, Rex — and Laz, I guess — were usually the focus/main characters of the daydreams I had back then. By now they're basically AM's poster child 😭
Rex is radioactive! His blood, sweat, & other bodily fluids are acidic and actual biohazards. Rip buddy.
Laz is a cannibal. Technically. He's not human (clone + can transform into this giant...wolf cat thing idk i never finalized their "hulk" form ig). This does cause problems for him & Rex but they come to a deal where Laz can only eat "bad" people aka criminals and whoever SHIELD deems an enemy.
MAXINE ROMANOV (SHE/HER)
Clone of Natasha Romanov/Black Widow.
For some reason she has telepathy! This makes more sense now bc magic just kinda exists in MaaC/all my paracosms but back then I didn't have an explanation it was just sort of a thing.
Close w Rex! I guess this reflects how Bruce & Nat's relationship progressed in the movies ... BUT tbh I based most of everything off of the 2012 Avengers & Age of Ultron, a lootttt of stuff was cut out. 2012!MCU was an ERA im sure you remember.
But anyway, she was paired with Rex in order to control him bc his abilities were ... unstable, to say the least. But they're good friends, both then and now. She's basically his sister?
The others weren't as important tbh, but yknow. I still love them.
Christine Rogers, Steve Rogers/Cap's clone. Steve & Bucky adopt her! Stucky was also a thing I think idk. Probably.
Brandon Odinson, Thor's clone. He was taken in by Jane.
Zethri Barton, Clint/Hawkeye's clone. For some reason he was aquatic/like a siren? Idk it was the Clint in Vents Era, did we ever find something for that man to do.
Khole & Lorelai, also Bruce's clones and technically Rex's "siblings". Tho fun fact, their "birth order" goes: Khole, Rex, Lorelai. So. Rex is a middle child 😭😭
Holly Rose, who was just a girl w plant powers idk where she came from but she was there sometimes! She was kinda like the team mom I think.
And then I think there was Kit, a clone of Dr. Strange? She was connected to Strange somehow but I forgot. Probably related to him somehow lbr.
hi this is random but I love that you have marvel/mcu fictparas! I used to have an MCU paracosm when I was younger (the mcu had a chokehold on me from like ages 8-15). I still have some original paras from that time...kind of. I think about them sometimes lmao but they do exist in the background of my paracosms. guess what im tryna say is mcu our beloved <3 (also please give tony a hug for me he was my dad fr 😭)
OMGGGGG!!! CAN YOU HEAR ME ABSOLUTELY SCREAMING??? I can't believe we have that in common!!! MCU our beloved, indeed <333
I started getting into the MCU at about 13(?), and that's when I introduced it into my paracosm, so even our ages kind of line up, lmao! I'd love to hear about your paras, though! Even though they're background characters now, I think that's so cool that they stuck around since then!!!
And, of course I'll give Tony a hug for you! This makes for great timing, too, seeing as he just won the Hunger Games, so I'm sure he's in a pretty good mood, hehehe!
Tumblr media
(Also, he is such a great dad, frfr! And I'm saying this as someone who literally had to fight him for custody of Peter, lmaooo!)

I'm late because of something fun called final exam but here I am.
Behold! Anthony Stark in all his glory. May birth flowers are actually lily of the valley and hawthorn, but I pick hawthorn because I think it fits his character more.
In Celtic mythology it symbolises love and protection. It also signifies healing and the birth of new possibilities. Quite fitting, isn't it?
Below is a song that I think also fits him to a t. It's absolutely beautiful, you should listen to it ;)
