Tumblr media
You sent a glare in Tony’s direction after getting hit in the face with a piece of candy. “Dinozzo!” You said, exasperatedly, trying to figure out why he had just thrown an M&M at your face.
“I called your name like five times. You didn’t hear me.” He explained. You ran your hand through your hair. “That’s cause I’m working. Gibbs is down in interrogation, and he needs something he can use. I don’t want to be the one to tell him I have nothing— whatever. What do you need?” You asked him.
“I want to show you a trick.” He said, excitedly. You and Tony were really good friends, which meant you both had no trouble having fun around each other. Gibbs didn’t always love this.
Tony tossed a piece of candy up in the air and attempted unsuccessfully to catch it in his mouth. You quickly put your hand over your mouth, suppressing a giggle. “Don’t you even,” Tony warned, expecting the sarcastic comment that was on the tip of your tongue.
“I wasn’t gonna say anything. I just figured a federal agent would have better hand-eye coordination.” You said, smirking at him. He knew he had just been challenged. “Alright, let’s see you do it.” He said, inviting you over to his desk.
You stood up from your chair and walked over to the side of Tony’s desk. He tossed a piece of candy your way, which you caught in your mouth on the first try. The smile on Tony’s face faded. “You were clearly assisted by my excellent aim,” he said, defensively.
You giggled at his sad expression. “So, what’s my prize for beating you?” You asked, curiously. A smirk spread across Tony’s face. “That depends on what you want.” He quipped.
A flirty comment out of Tony wasn’t anything knew to you. All of your coworkers knew you both were into each other, but hadn’t admitted it yet.
You thought about it, and his comment gave you an idea about the suspect down in interrogation.
“I need to call Gibbs,” you said, grabbing the phone off his desk.
“I’m very happy for you, but I don’t think Gibbs is going to care that you caught an M&M.” He said, not catching on yet. You flicked his arm.
“Ow,” he exclaimed, scooting his chair back away from you.
“Your phone’s not working,” you said, slamming it down. You raced over to your desk, grabbing your own phone. You heard the same static sound over your phone. “The phones must be down.” You said, confused since the phones were never down.
Over your shoulder, Tony saw a man step out of the elevator with a large gun. His first instinct should have been to grab his own gun and order the man to surrender. That was his job after all.
But not with you standing in the middle.
He dived over to where you were standing, pulling you down to the ground with him. As you both fell to the floor, you heard a bunch of rapid gunshots go into the ceiling.
You felt a burning sensation on your upper arm. You swore under your breath, wincing in pain.
Tony felt his heart sink as he noticed the blood seeping through your shirt. “Hang on, it’ll be okay. One of the ricochets must have hit you. Just looks like a graze though,” he said, tugging off the button-up shirt he was wearing.
He was left in a white t-shirt, tying his other shirt tightly around your arm.
“I need to see Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.” The intruder announced to the squad room. There wasn’t very many agents in the office today, but they were all now laying on the ground as instructed.
“Keep pressure on this,” Tony said, starting to stand up. You gripped onto his arm. He saw the fear in your eyes. Tony had never seen you scared before.
You weren’t scared for yourself. You were scared Tony would play hero and get himself hurt.
“Don’t,” you begged him. He could sense your desperation. “I won’t go anywhere,” he gave in. He wrapped his arm around your shoulders, keeping you close to him.
You heard heavy footsteps behind you. The intruder was standing right in front of your desk, staring at you both sitting behind it.
“You, up!” He ordered, staring at Tony. Tony slowly stood, holding his hands up. “I’m Gibbs. What do you need?” He asked, nonchalantly.
“You want to try again, agent? Because I know you’re not Gibbs.” He threatened. Tony shrugged his shoulders. “I’m Special Agent Gibbs. Don’t know what to tell you,” he lied.
You cursed Tony out in your head. He was amazing at his job, but always knew how to make you worry about him.
“How about you tell me the truth?” The intruder said, shifting his gun to point it at you. Tony jumped in front of the intruder, keeping you safe. “Hey hey hey, I’m Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo. Don’t hurt her” the words rushed out of his mouth.
The intruder smirked, realizing he had found Tony’s weak spot.
There was no bluffing when it came to you. Tony wouldn’t do anything that risked your safety.
“That’s better, Romeo. Now bring me to Gibbs.” The intruder demanded. Tony hesitated, looking over his shoulder at you. “She’s hurt. Let me call our doctor up here. Then, I’ll do whatever you want,” Tony negotiated.
The intruder considered his proposition for a minute, then turned to you. “You, come here.” He demanded. Following your training, you held your hands in the air and slowly walked towards him.
He pointed his gun at Tony and used his other hand to pat you down. You could see Tony tense up. “So, what do you want with Gibbs?” You asked, trying to get inside his head.
“My name is Jeremiah Parker. Agent Gibbs arrested my brother today, and I’m here to get him back.” The intruder explained, referencing the suspect that was down in interrogation with Gibbs right now.
Jeremiah ran his hand down your legs, grabbing your gun and throwing it to the side. His hand went back up to your waist.
You felt yourself flinch as his hand lingered on your ass. Tony noticed immediately. “Hey, get your hands off of her.” Tony snapped.
Jeremiah simply chuckled. “Calm down, Agent Dinozzo. I’m only looking for these.” He said, grabbing your handcuffs off your belt.
“Cuff his hands, sweetheart.” He told you. Tony gave you a soft smile, letting you know it was okay. You stepped towards Tony, grabbing both his hands and handcuffing them in front of him.
He grabbed one your hands and gave it a reassuring squeeze. “You’re shaking. It’ll be okay, I promise,” he assured you.
Then, Jeremiah grabbed your shoulders forcefully and pulled you away from Tony. He pressed the tip of his gun against your side.
“Call your doctor, and put it on speaker.” He instructed Tony, who nodded his head and obliged.
The phone rang once or twice and then you heard Jimmy’s voice come through the speaker. “Hello, this is Palmer,” he said, nonchalantly.
“Hey, Jimmy. I need to speak with Dr. Mallard.” Tony said, silently praying Palmer would know he only ever referred to him as Ducky. Jimmy mumbled “one second,” and then there was some silence.
“Hello, Tony?” Ducky asked. “Hi, Dr. Mallard. I need you to bring your first aid kit up to the squad room please.” Tony said, calmly. Ducky was silent for a minute, trying to figure out what was wrong. “Tony, what’s going on?” Ducky asked, already knowing something was off.
“Just hurry,” Tony said, almost snapping. He was almost pleading with Ducky. If Jeremiah knew anything was going on, he’d probably kill you both.
“Tony is everything ok—” Ducky started to ask before Jeremiah quickly hung up the phone.
You felt your body tense as he slammed the phone down. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. If your doctor does as he’s told, you’ll be just fine.” Jeremiah assured you, running his thumb over you cheek.
“I only bring you to Gibbs if you leave her alone.” Tony threatened. Jeremiah didn’t respond, he just chuckled to himself. “You’re the one in handcuffs. I dont think you’re in a place to make demands.” Jeremiah told him.
The elevator door dinged. You all watched Ducky cautiously step out of the elevator, first aid kit in hand.
Jeremiah pressed his gun against your head. “Over here, doctor,” Jeremiah announced.
Ducky knew something was wrong just from the phone call. He wasn’t shocked that there was an intruder, but seeing a gun pointed at your head made him realize how serious the situation was.
“Ducky, Y/N’s arm got grazed. I need you to stay here and help her. Me and our friend have to go talk to Gibbs.” Tony told him.
Jeremiah shoved you towards Ducky, who held his hands out and caught you from falling over. Tony also lunged to try to catch you, even though his hands were handcuffed together.
Ducky wrapped his arm around your shoulder, in a fatherly manner. “Well Gibbs is down in interrogation now.” He said, looking towards Tony. You knew from Ducky’s expression that Gibbs knew what was going on.
You didn’t know why you were so nervous. You and Tony had worked in the field together for years, but he had never seen you this nervous. You didn’t know why it felt different this time.
You both were in dangerous situations all the time, but this time you were terrified that Tony would get hurt. He had the same worries for you.
Tony noticed how you were nervously biting your lip.
“Hey, it’ll be alright. You know me,” Tony said, softly. He was trying to reassure you, but it wasn’t working.
If you hadn’t seen the small beads of sweat on his forehead, you probably would’ve believed him.
But he was right. You did know him.
You knew he used humor instead of admitting he was scared.
You both had been hiding behind the “just friends” label for years, but Tony had always cared for you more he had ever cared for just a friend. As he saw the look on your face and the tear rolling down your cheek, he had all the confirmation he needed that you felt the same way about him.
He sighed at the irony of the situation. Tony was very aware that this could be the last time he saw you.
You also were terrified. As soon as Tony was out of your sight, there was no saying what would happen to him.
“Ducky, I need you to take care of her” Tony said with the most serious tone you’ve ever heard him use.
Jeremiah kicked Tony in the back of the leg, pushing him forward. “Let’s go,” he demanded.
As soon as Jeremiah turned away from you, you decided to copy one of Tony’s favorite movies, the A-Team, which he had forced you to watch with him.
You had the key to your handcuffs concealed in your hand. You quickly slipped the key into your mouth. “Tony wait,” you called out. Tony stopped in his tracks as you walked over to him.
You cupped his face and kissed him. Tony was shocked, but wasted no time kissing you back. He felt your tongue slip the key into his mouth. He smirked into the kiss, knowing that you remembered watching that movie together.
You reluctantly pulled out of the kiss. “Be safe,” you whispered. He nodded his head, “I promise.”
You felt Ducky’s hands on your arm, pulling you back towards him. You both watched as the two of them walked away towards the elevator.
“He’ll be alright, my dear,” Ducky reassured you. You turned around, leaning your head on Ducky’s shoulder as a few tears slipped onto your cheeks. “I really want to believe you, Duck.” You whispered.
“Anthony will do whatever it takes to come back to you because it’s you.” He told you.
As the elevator doors closed, Tony looked over his shoulder at Jeremiah. “If you put another scratch on her body, I swear to god, I will kill you myself.” Tony threatened.
“Is Agent Dinozzo in love?” Jeremiah questioned. Tony remained silent. He had barely been able to admit those feelings to himself.
“I am a sucker for love. It’s so sad that you’ll never see her again.” Jeremiah quipped.
Then, the elevator screeched to a halt. Tony knew that somewhere Gibbs was responsible.
Meanwhile, Ducky was dragging you up to MTAC. You had told all the other agents in the squad room to go up there to stay safe, but you weren’t planning on staying. You needed to go help Tony.
Ducky didn’t like that idea.
“Now, just come on, my dear. I need to look at your arm. Anthony has this under control. You could walk into an ambush.” Ducky tried to convince you, blocking the door so you couldn’t leave.
“Ducky. I think I love him, and I would regret staying here for the rest of my life if he gets hurt.” You told him, honestly.
Ducky nodded, sympathizing with your situation. “Then, let me fix this first.” He said, fixing the way Tony’s shirt was tied around your arm.
“There you go, but be safe.” He told you, letting you leave. You sprinted down the stairs and grabbed your gun off your desk. You opted to take the stairs down to interrogation instead of the elevator.
Tony and Jeremiah’s elevator finally continued descending down to the interrogation floor.
Jeremiah stuck his gun to Tony’s head, anticipating agents when the elevator doors opened.
The doors opened and revealed Gibbs standing with his gun pointed at Jeremiah. “Put your gun down, Agent Gibbs, or another one of your agents gets hurt.” Jeremiah demanded.
Ducky had told Gibbs about the weird phone call with Tony, but he didn’t know about you getting hurt.
“What did you do?” Gibbs asked, cautiously.
“Y/N got grazed by a bullet. She’s with Ducky now. She’s probably gonna need some stitches.” Tony informed him.
Tony promptly got elbowed by Jeremiah. “Shut your mouth, Romeo. Or your girlfriend is going to get more than a graze.” Jeremiah snapped.
Tony didn’t stop.
“Boss, drop your gun. You won’t need it to take him out.” Tony told Gibbs. Gibbs got the message and placed his gun on the ground.
Jeremiah had had enough. He threw a quick punch at Tony’s face, successfully hitting him right in the nose.
Tony’s plan worked.
He flinched, grabbing his nose with both his hands. He sneakily grabbed the key out of his mouth, but didn’t unlock the handcuffs yet.
Jeremiah walked Gibbs and Tony down the hallway, towards the interrogation room. Tony unlocked the handcuffs when Gibbs gave him the signal.
He popped his hands out and turned around, quickly smacking the gun out of Jeremiah’s hands. Then, McGee jumped out from around the corner with his gun pointed at Jeremiah.
Gibbs grabbed Jeremiah and quickly handcuffed him.
“Go get her,” Gibbs told Tony, but he had already started running towards the stairs. McGee followed after Tony, not quite keeping up. This was the fastest Tony had ever ran. His mind was racing with thoughts of you.
Tony got to the squad room and found your desk empty. You and Ducky were nowhere to be seen. Tony called your name a few times, desperately looking around for you.
McGee arrived shortly after Tony. “She could’ve brought everyone up to MTAC for safety.” McGee suggested. Tony sprinted up the stairs, slamming the door open as he ran inside.
He scanned the faces of all the agents standing in the room, not seeing you. Agents started to funnel out of the room, knowing it was safe now.
“Oh, come on, come on, where are you?” His mind was racing with possibilities.
Tony found Ducky. “Ducky. Where is she?” He asked, urgently.
“She went off to find you, Anthony.” Ducky informed him.
“Tony, Tony, down here,” Tony heard McGee screaming from outside.
Tony ran outside of MTAC and saw you standing down next to McGee in the squad room.
Once his eyes landed on you, he sprinted down the stairs, running as fast as his legs would take him.
He pulled you right into his arms, holding onto you tightly. “Are you okay? Please tell me you’re okay” you whispered into his shirt. “I’m fine. Gibbs has him. It’s all okay” he ran his hand through your hair, comforting you.
“What about your arm?” Tony jumped back, thinking he was hurting you. “I’m fine, Tony. Ducky’s gonna stitch it up. It hurts like a bitch, but I’m fine.” You assured him.
You looked at his face, wanting to double check that he was actually okay. “Your nose looks all red and swollen.” You said, noticing his injury.
“I had to get him to throw a punch at me, so I could get the key out of my mouth. I promise, it’s nothing. It takes more than that to hurt Anthony Dinozzo.” He told you. He pulled you back into his arms.
“I know this is part of the job, but I was so fucking worried about you.” You told him, squeezing onto him tightly.
He grabbed your chin and pulled your face up to connect your lips. He had one hand pressed against your cheek, and the other was on the back of your head. You rested your hands on his sides.
You weren’t taking any part of this moment for granted. You memorized the way his shirt felt under your fingers and spearmint taste on his lips.
“Oh, would you look at that? All it took to get you two together was a hostage situation.” Ducky said. You both pulled away and saw Ducky staring with Gibbs and McGee standing behind him.
“I can’t believe you used the key trick from A-Team. You are so amazing.” Tony said, pressing a bunch of kisses to your cheek. Tony couldn’t contain himself. After all, the girl he was crazy about used his favorite move from his favorite movie to save his life.
“I hate to steal her from you, Anthony, but she really needs those stitches.” Ducky interrupted.
“Don’t worry. I’ll hold your hand the whole time.” Tony said, cheesily interlacing your fingers with his and walking over to your desk where Ducky had his first aid kit opened.

Agents DiNozzo
[A/N #1 TLDR version: Got busy with an externship, got hospitalized for a cat bite, I missed u all v v much
A/N #2 for realsies: Would Tony and his wife be allowed to work together on a team? Probs not. Would Gibbs be crazy enough to voluntarily work with both of them? Even more probs not. But it makes my lil heart happy so here you go :)]
Pairing: Tony DiNozzo x wife!agent!reader
__________
There are two things in your career that satisfy you to no end: 1) Getting justice for the victims whose case files come across your desk and 2) Working with your husband every day. The latter presents complications, of course- the occasional conflict of interest, quibbles over theories following you home from the office, an added level of anxiety during contentious takedowns- but it also allows you the distinct privilege of spoiling and, arguably more importantly, embarrassing the hell out of one Anthony DiNozzo, Junior, on a daily basis.
Your head lifts on its own volition, guided by your nose tuning in to the sweet smell of hazelnut creamer and woodsy cologne permeating the air of the NCIS bullpen. Your partner, both in and out of the field, has evidently returned from a midday coffee run looking as delicious as the pastries you’ve spotted by the to-go cups on his desk. Checking to make sure your boss is still nestled securely in the Director’s office, you cross over into Tony’s space just as he lays his suit jacket across the back of his chair. Slipping your hands into the back pockets of his tight-fitting slacks, you can’t help but serenade him with the ten-second clip of brain rot that plagued your social media for a ridiculous number of weeks. “Can I get to the yams?” you whisper-sing through a giggle, pinching his favorite cheeks of yours, maintaining your grip even as you attempt to dodge the hand nearing the back of your head. “Sweet ya-am- ow!” Darting out of his reach, you drop into Tony’s seat with a pout, arms crossed petulantly. “You have hereby been demoted from Very Special Agent to just Special Agent for that.”
“You-” Tony sneaks a glance at McGee and Ziva who are trying- and failing- to hide their smiles before crouching to meet you at eye level and lowering his voice to carry on, “You are the reason we had to sit through that inappropriate conduct seminar for three hours last week.” He maintains an even tone, but you can see his lips twitching with amusement.
“I’m sorry everyone in this office is jealous I can touch your butt and they can’t,” you huff with an eye roll.
“Literally no one is jealous of you for that,” McGee calls from his desk across the aisle.
“Well, you guys are missing out,” you respond with an exaggerated sigh.
Shaking his head, Tony fixes you with as stern a look as he can muster. “Save it for later, Bee,” you intone in an imitation of your husband’s voice, “I know.”
“You would think,” he begins, offering you a hand to help you up and walking you back over to your desk by Ziva’s, “that you’d have moved past the infatuation stage at this point in our relationship.”
“And you would think you’d have stopped calling me ‘Probie’ by now, Anthony.”
“I have! ‘Bee’ is different than ‘Probie’. It’s a nickname and it’s cute.”
“Says who?” you challenge, eyes narrowed.
“Says the-”
“If you say ‘Senior Field Agent,’ I swear to God, Tony, you’re sleeping on the-”
“DiNozzos!” Gibbs’ gruff voice puts an immediate stop to your squabble as he descends the steps two at a time. “Ziva, McGee, all of you, front and center. Whaddya got? Besides too much time on your hands.”
“Coffee and a suspect,” you supply with a smile, turning on the plasma display as Tony presents Gibbs with a cardboard cup. “For once, Agent DiNozzo’s go-to theory seems to hold water.” Raising an eyebrow at your husband, you playfully mock, “It was the wife.”
Tim picks up the next leg of your shared insight. “Credit card history has the Lieutenant Commander’s wife meeting with our hit man at a hotel in Anacostia two weeks before the murder, Boss.”
“We also traced these calls from the burner found on our victim’s body,” Ziva indicates for Tim to highlight the outgoing calls on the phone logs before continuing, “…to his sister in law, Anna.”
The redhead’s photo pops up on the TV, and your husband lets out a low whistle that has your hand instantly connecting with the back of his head. “You are my light, my sunshine, and the very air I breathe, my dear,” he speaks through a grimace, trying to gauge your reaction through his peripheral vision.
“Go pick our hitman up,” Gibbs instructs, cutting off your bickering before it can begin by dangling the sedan’s keys on his index finger in front of you.
You snatch them up, sharing a catlike grin with Ziva. “My pleasure, Boss. I might be needing his services soon, anyway.”
“Uh uh,” your boss calls as the two of you start collecting your things. “Take Tony.”
Your husband flashes you a sheepish smile while you grumble at him over the lip of your coffee cup. “Let’s go, Dick-Nozzo.”
“It’s your last name, too,” he points out astutely, holding out his hand for the keys.
“Shut up. I’m driving.”
As the elevator begins its descent, Tony slips two fingers under your chin and turns your face towards him, concern muting the typical sparkle in his olive green eyes. “Are you really upset with me, babe?”
You count the seconds ticking away in your head, relishing in the way he squirms under your stern gaze, before relenting at second fourteen. “No, you big dummy,” you say with a nudge to his side. “She’s hot.”
Tony lifts your hand to his mouth and presses his lips against your wedding band before asserting, “You’re hotter.”
Curling your free hand around his tie, you tug him closer and land a sound kiss on his lips. The elevator dings to indicate you’ve reached the parking garage, and you reluctantly release your husband from your grip with a satisfied smile and a murmured, “I’ve taught you so well.”

Get in the Truck (Jethro Gibbs x reader) [SMUT]
The bullpen was quiet ever since you and Jethro had your big argument while you were out investigating a case and the pair of you wouldn’t talk to each other. Tony and McGee exchanged quiet looks of uncertainty as Gibbs walked in.
You sat now at your desk, fuming. You looked up at him as he passed you.
“You have a problem, (l/n)?” He asked. You hadn’t responded. “Do you have a problem, (y/n)?” You continued to glare at him. “I asked you a question Marine, answer me.”
“No.” You said coldly. His icy blue eyes staring right into yours. Two fiery glares being exchanged in silence.
“(Y/n) what exactly happened out there?” McGee asked.
“Yeah… I’m with McNosy on this one” Tony agreed.
“I said something he didn’t like. I did something he didn’t like.” you respond not looking up from your paperwork. They boys had receded back to their work, leaving you be… you obviously weren’t in the mood. Jethro clenched his jaw.
What felt like hours later, you grew bored of your filing work and grabbed the remaining 20 something files, you dropped them onto his desk. You locked eyes with him as they landed with a deep thud. You decided you would go toe to toe with you boss and boyfriend at the same time.
“Here Jethro. That’s for you” you say and grab your coat. “I’m taking my lunch break” you walked out. It was his turn to fume now. Tony and McGee looked at each other as they argument was waiting to break out. He glared daggers into your back as you stalked to the elevator.
“Boss…” DiNozzo began.
“Shut it.” Gibbs stood up and followed you. “You know (y/n) pretty stupid of you to tell your boss what you were gonna do” he said following you.
“Oh god Gibbs grow up” you reply walking towards your car. “Boss, boyfriend, what are you? You can’t play both roles at once you know”
You turned abruptly to face him.
“Yes I can” he replied. “You crossed the line”
“Oh, I crossed the line, baby? I crossed the line!?” You were now literally inches away from him. You could feel his body heat. “I wasn’t the one that started bringing out personal affairs into it. I wasn’t the one that decided it’d be a good idea to just, I don’t know, casually tell someone that “you’re always so belligerent (y/n) you don’t listen, the only time you’ve ever listened to me is in bed, and you barely do that””
Jethro couldn’t deny it, he was incredibly turned on by you. Your anger made your eyes sparkle, the way your jaw flexed as you glared at him.
“Im sorry I crossed the line (y/n) but you are not allowed to tell me how to do my job when I’m on the field because at work, I’m the boss.” He spoke. “You don’t listen. You don’t immediately do as I tell you, quite frankly, you have gotten belligerent.”
“Then fuck it out of me” you say through gritted teeth. “Fuck the belligerency right out of me”
“Get in the truck.” His eyes darkened. “Now. And (l/n) do not make me ask you again” you walked to the truck, he pushed you against the door and caught you in a heated kiss. Unlocking the door behind you. You undid your coat, and he undid his throwing it into the truck bed as you opened the door.
You got inside and scooted back as he crawled between your legs, closing the door behind you. His mouth reconnected to yours roughly. His hands followed the natural curve of your clothing as you moaned into his mouth. His calloused hands met the waistband of your pants as yours found his belt. You teased his growth as he assaulted your neck. He bucked his hips as he groaned.
“Fuck” you heard the desire in his voice. He made easy work of undoing your pants with an easy few flicks of his wrist. Unzipping his pants, he easily slipped himself out as you let your pants down.
He slid into you, a deep guttural groan leaving him. You moaned into his mouth as he roughly fucked you. Not wasting anytime in relieving himself and chasing to relieve you. The tangled moans that es the two of you would’ve been a symphony to any outside listeners.
Your moans and whimpers raised higher in pitch as he thrusted sloppier and sloppier as his orgasm neared. Hard thrusts earned him a rough bite on his neck.
“Fuck (y/n)” he groaned into your neck as his sporadic thrusts were being to speed up. Your walls clenched around him, causing a grunt to roll off his tongue. You were a whole other story.
You were actively losing your mind. Your composure had slipped, moans and curses slurred together as he fucked. Your own hand has drawn down to your clit to rub the circles you needed to make your body stiffen. Your mouth laid open in pleasure as you orgasmed. Cursing his name as he came simultaneously with you.
“God, (y/n)” he pulled out of you, grabbed a wipe from the pack he kept in the glove compartment. He cleaned you as best as he could before caring for himself. You laid on the truck seat with a dazed smile on your face.
“What gorgeous?” He smirked. As he opened the door and stood up. Looking around as he fixed his pants and boxers, pulling them up.
“Best sex I think I’ve ever had” you reply. You stood close to Gibbs and rearranged yourself . Your two bodies warm. You tuck in his shirt and zip and button his pants. He watched as you did so. You kissed him as you redid his belt.
“I think can top it” he shrugged.
“Hm. Top me tonight after dinner”
“Are you telling me what to do (l/n)? While we’re at work?” He questioned.
“No sir” you respond, teasing him. You giggled as you hugged him. He kissed the top of your head. He let go and the two of you began walking back to the office. Giggling and walking around like a goofball. Dickdrunk and high off serotonin.
“Report to the house by 1900 hours” Gibbs ordered. You smirked as you stood in place.
“Yes sir” you saluted him.
“What marine?”
“Yes sir”
“What time are you to report to the house, marine?”
“1900 hours”
“At ease soldier” the two of you laughed as you locked hands. He kissed your temple. “You’re my good girl” he whispered in your ear as you got in the elevator. You smile.

The Night Shift
A/N: First NCIS fic! Decided to keep my OC's name instead of reader as I'm pretty attached to her.
If you're alone on V Day, here's some Gibbs. <3
Tumblr media
Title: The Night Shift
Summary: What's worse than a sick Gibbs? A sick mini Gibbs.
Words: 2568
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was two am, and Emmie Gibbs was tired.
She wrinkled her nose as something tickled at it and sat up to reach for the packet of tissues sitting dutifully by the pillow.
It was two am, and Emmie Gibbs was sick and tired.
Tony, the shit-stirrer that he was, leaned precariously back in his swivel chair to stare at her. If it weren’t for the squeak of the chair itself, she still would have noticed his sudden attention by the feeling of his eyes boring into her for perhaps the tenth time since they’d set up camp in the NCIS building about five hours ago. He was relentless.
Emmie paused. Tissue wedged in her nose, sinuses burning, she looked up and stared at him. Tony rose an eyebrow. Emmie hardened her stare. Tony, because he was Tony, purposefully leaned further back so she could see the exact moment he dramatically cupped a hand to his stupid little mouth and—
“Giiibbs!”
Emmie’s jaw tensed. Tony grinned in superfluous victory.
Another squeak, a more familiar one this time, and Gibbs’s swivel chair glided along the carpeted floor around the divider between the cubicles until he could see Emmie. She was still sitting up, looking quite the sight with a tissue halfway up her right nostril and her hair sticking at all angles. On any other day she would have responded to Tony’s pure gall by glaring him straight into the ground. But today was not that day. Today was a bad day. Today, her week-long, just-about-bearable cold had decided to manifest into sinusitis, and she’d woken with a face that felt as though tiny little men were mining for gold in her skull. Ducky had liked that metaphor.
Partly because she was absolutely awful at caring for herself when she was ill, and partly—mostly—because he knew he wouldn’t have been able to concentrate on work if she was left to fend for herself at home, Gibbs had dragged Emmie into the office with him. She’d made her rounds all day—curled up on Abby’s little couch at first, then bundled off to an empty room when Abby found working in silence too impossible. At lunchtime, a meeting had been scheduled in the room, and she’d been forced to accompany Gibbs and Tony in the car to a naval base connected to the case they were working on, sniffling and groaning in the back seat like a Victorian child on her death bed.
And here she was now, at two a bloody m, lying on an ungodly amount of blankets, wrapped in Gibbs’s jacket and Tony’s hoodie, on the floor, feeling like her body was readying to explode. Life couldn’t get worse.
Unless you were acquainted with Tony DiNozzo. In which case, life could, and most certainly would, get worse.
Gibbs dipped his head and rose an eyebrow at Emmie. Emmie couldn’t do much in her defence but sniff. Hard. A slight protest only she had the guts to attempt. It was when he pointed a finger at her and motioned with it for her to lie down again that Emmie tossed her arms up.
“Do you know—” Another sniff—“Do you even know how hard it is to lie down and feel your sinuses drain into your throat?” Her voice was so nasally she couldn’t sound stern, even if she put every ounce of effort into it.
Tony, naturally, did not try hard to cover his amusement at that. He snorted and crossed his arms over his chest, spinning from side to side absently in his chair with the tip of his tongue held between his smirking lips when Emmie turned narrowed eyes on him.
“I was getting a tissue, FYI,” she said to him and only him. “So, you can stop being a kiss ass, Anthony.”
“Emmie.” Gibbs disappeared behind the divider again. “Back to sleep.”
Tony, meanwhile, gaped. “Kiss ass who?”
Emmie ignored him and shuffled back down again. She shut her eyes and swallowed. Already the disgusting stuff had decided the place it wanted to be right now was her stomach, and was meandering slowly down her throat towards it.
“You were being a bit of a kiss ass,” she heard Gibbs agree.
“Oh, come on. You said you wanted her to sleep!”
“Yeah, and I do.”
“But you’re gonna call me a kiss ass when I tell you she’s not sleeping? Kiss my ass.”
“What was that?”
“Sorry, Boss.”
In all honesty, there was nothing more that Emmie wanted least right now than to sleep. True, she was exhausted, but the part of her brain not currently still enshrouded in said exhaustion wanted to be up and active again, helping Gibbs with the case like her internship allowed.
And yet, the man still believed she needed her head on a pillow.
The team had been working on a case all day, one she didn’t know the specifics of. It wasn’t exactly often that they stayed in the office well into the night to continue their current case, but it appeared Gibbs had a weird feeling about this one. From the snippets of conversation that she’d picked up and actually retained in her decrepit brain, a potential witness was lying unconscious in a hospital bed somewhere, and Gibbs wanted to speak to him the moment he woke up, which, according to the doctors, could be at any time. That apparently required the entire team to stay behind which, considering the fact Emmie was currently holed up on the floor of Ziva’s empty cubicle, not everyone had complied with.
The moment Tony got out of his chair to help Gibbs with something and disappeared from her line of sight, Emmie eased herself into a sitting position once more. She reached for the tissues again, rubbing at her leaking nose with the sleeve of Gibbs’s jacket and not possessing the brain power to regret that decision. She blew into a tissue, paused to catch her breath, then—
“Gibbs.”
Emmie deflated completely. Wow. The world truly hated her today.
She looked up to see McGee walking in with a bag of takeout. He barely glanced at her as he passed, choosing to instead spend that energy alerting Gibbs to the fact she was, again, not lying down.
Before either Tony or Gibbs could come into view once more, Emmie sighed, stuck two bits of tissue in both nostrils, and scooted backwards to sit against the wall.
“Can’t breathe lying down,” she said before anyone could say a single word. “And I’m tired of being tired. I don’t want to sleep anymore. Leave me alone. Don’t talk to me. Shush.”
Tony’s head appeared around the corner, and he snorted again. Then the squeak of Gibbs’s chair as he got up. A rustling. A moment later he appeared with a takeout box in his hand, walking towards her. He lifted it so she could see, and she groaned, shaking her head. A corner of Gibbs’s mouth lifted but he wasn’t about to back down on this fight. He never did.
He knelt in front of her, close enough to see the pallidness of her face and the slight sickly tremble of her small frame. Emmie visibly relaxed when he reached out a hand to press against her forehead, the coolness of his skin momentarily dowsing the heat of hers.
Gibbs checked the watch at his wrist. “Another couple hours and you can dose up again.”
“Thanks.”
“Yep. ‘Till then…” He went to withdraw his hand, but Emmie’s own hand shot up and pinned his to her forehead.
“No,” she said simply.
“No to my hand leaving, or food?”
“No.”
“You gotta eat. You know the drill. Eat or sleep.” She grumbled something and Gibbs reached with his free hand to lift the lid on the box. The smell of warm chicken soup filled the space between them, and Emmie wrinkled her nose. “Come on, kiddo. It’s only soup.”
“I feel too sick to eat.”
“Sleep it is, then.”
“Dad—”
“Hey. The cure for alll Emmie-related illness is sleep. Always has been, always will be.” It was true. Gibbs knew his daughter better than she knew herself, after all. Everyone was different, but Emmie’s medicine was sleep until she could look him in the eye and confidently tell him she felt a bit better. If years of being a single parent had taught him anything, it was that.
With a bit of reluctance, he pulled his hand from her head and leant forward on his toes. “You don’t have to lie down to sleep,” he told her. “Here—” Emmie wasn’t quite sure what he was doing with the pillows and blankets behind her, but when he sat back and she turned as much as her aching neck would allow, there was a nice little DIY upright-bed against the wall. Gibbs, seemingly proud of his work, was met with a look of absolute discontent on his daughter’s face.
He puffed his cheeks out and glanced at the soup. “Aeroplane?”
“Seriously?” Emmie deadpanned.
He reached for the spoon, a teasing smile pulling at his lips. “Worked when you were a kid.”
“There’re a few keywords in that sentence, Dad. Are you trying to give Tony more fuel to embarrass me?”
Gibbs glanced over his shoulder. Tony had returned to his desk, leaning dangerously back in his chair to gain the best vantage point. The man had absolutely zero shame.
Gibbs jerked his head. “Check with the hospital about Lupin, would you, DiNozzo?”
Tony visibly deflated. Emmie sent him a smug look and he stuck his tongue out. Reluctantly, he wheeled back to his desk and picked up the phone. “Do this, DiNozzo, do that, DiNozzo,” he grumbled to himself. “Oh, while you’re at it, why don’t you polish my boots and write a thesis on my intellectual prowess, DiNozzo? Sure, I’ll get right on it, Boss!” He dialled the number and put the phone to his ear. “Should I get your laundry and your coffee too, Boss? Should I do—hi, there! Anthony DiNozzo, NCIS, calling for an update on a patient? Ryan Lupin. Yeah, I’ll hold. Thanks.”
“Dad.” Such an exasperated voice could only belong to the resident invalid, and after only a second’s hesitation, Tony—slowly—wheeled himself back, as far as the cord to the phone still held against his ear would allow. Emmie and Gibbs were still on the floor, the former looking most disgruntled at the spoon in the latter’s hand.
“I’m being serious,” she said then.
“So am I,” Gibbs said, “very serious. I’m being very serious right now. Soup?”
Emmie rolled her eyes, but a smile was pulling at her lips all the same. She shook her head. “Go back to your desk, old man.”
Tony’s brows shot up and he grinned. “Oohoohoo!” He was close to rubbing his hands together in sheer glee. “You gonna let her get away with that, Boss?”
“Lupin, DiNozzo.”
“I’m on hold!” The fact that Gibbs made no sign that he was going to pick his daughter up on her insult, when Tony knew that if he’d been the one to call his boss elderly he’d be getting a bit more than a slap to the back of the head, hit a sore spot. “Wait,” he said, looking hilariously appalled, “you’re actually gonna let her get away with it?”
Gibbs, defeated in this part only, dropped the spoon back in the box and put it on the desk. “I’ve been called worse,” he called back, “believe me.”
“Grandpa,” Emmie said.
“Thank you, Em, that’s very helpful.”
“Ninnyhammer, pillock, douche canoe, old man—”
“You already said that one.” Gibbs chuckled. “Douche canoe?”
Emmie shrugged. “Dunderhead.”
“Alright.”
“Ugly…nut.”
“Jemima.”
McGee, who’d since been silently working and eating at his desk, paused. Mouth open, forkful of noodles on its way, he turned confused eyes to the ground.
“Her name’s Jemima?”
Tony rolled his eyes. “How long you been here McGee?”
As soon as Emmie looked the slightest bit like she was about to resume her name-calling, Gibbs put his palm over her mouth. He rose a brow in warning. She blinked. Blinked again. Then—
“Aw, come on!” Gibbs’s face contorted into one of absolute disgust as a rush of air and wet stuff flew at his hand. He withdrew it immediately, holding it away from him, while Emmie sniffed and nonchalantly used the jacket sleeve again.
“You little crapbag.” It was the best he could come up with.
“What? You think I plan my sneezes?”
Tony, up until now quite enjoying the performance, rolled quickly back to the desk with the phone at his ear. “Hi, yeah, I’m still here.”
Gibbs stood and walked briskly to his desk so he could grab the stack of napkins the takeout had come with. “I don’t doubt anything when it comes to you.”
“Thank you.” Emmie rubbed at her red eyes with her hand and slumped against the back of the wall. Gibbs, coating his hands with sanitizer, watched with a knowing eye. He shook his hands and walked back around to Ziva’s cubicle, perching on the desk to look down at her.
“You’re sick,” he said.
“I know. And?”
“And, sick people eat soup, and they sleep. Okay? They don’t stay up at all hours of the night—nooo, no, no. I’m talking now, kiddo. I know you’ve been sleeping all day, I know you wanna get up and back to work, but that’s not happening until your fever’s gone. No point in fighting that, and you know full well. Clear?”
Any other day. Any. Other. Day. The protests were practically clawing at her throat. But a sudden wave of nausea rushed over her and she backed down immediately. Still, the thought of lying down again was awful, and the tired eyes she turned on her dad somehow translated that.
Gibbs sighed. “What’s it gonna take, huh?” Emmie didn’t need to think about her answer to that. She wasn’t even sure her expression had changed at all when Gibbs shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest. “No,” he said, “come on, now. I gotta work.”
This time, she did change her expression, putting it on in the way she knew worked best. Gibbs, naturally, relented.
“Fine,” he said, motioning with his hands for her to move over. She did, though admittedly it was a bit of a pitiful move with her aching body. He breathed a short laugh but came to sit in the miniscule space she’d made beside her anyway.
“Thanks, douche canoe,” Emmie whispered.
Tony put the phone down. “Still knocked out, Boss,” he said, pushing his chair backwards. When he saw Gibbs on the floor, arm wrapped around his daughter, who had her head on his shoulder, he crossed his arms over his chest and positively pouted.
“Hey, why do you get to sleep?”
Gibbs chuckled and shut his eyes. “When you’ve got a sick kid, I’ll let you sleep on the office floor with her. Wake me before Lupin does, would you?”
“How am I—Boss? Boss?” Tony threw his arms up in the air and shook his head, grabbing a notebook from his desk to doodle in. “Kiss my ass.”
“Heard that.”
“I wanted you to.”
Well, one thing was for certain. Gibbs may have won this fight, but so had Emmie.

Hi. I’ve been reading your work and it’s been sooo funny. It’s my first time asking for fic. Could you write a fic where Gibbs and reader is in the secret relationship in the bullpen. And one day they’re having breakfast or lunch or anything and they’re cute, sweet, and so in love each other and then being caught on the scene by someone in the bullpen.
Thank you so much for good works!
Hello anon, thank you for the request and your kind words, it means so much to me ❤️ I hope this is what you were looking for!
Busted ~ Jethro Gibbs
It's not easy to give a relationship secret, but it's even worse when it happens in the workplace, and the people you're the closest with are all trained investigators. However, you and Gibbs have been doing a great job at hiding it. It's a lot thanks to him, to be honest; the man has one hell of a self control and when he puts his mind into something, he never fails.
Most of the times you were almost caught was because you couldn't keep your hands off of the man you love. A stolen kiss here, a lingering hand there. The closest to being busted happened when a lawyer was clearly hitting on Gibbs, and your jealousy went over the roof. You trust Gibbs more than anyone, you know he'd never do something like that, but seeing this woman being too comfortable with your man, touching his arm, and giving him flirty looks, that was hard to handle.
However, it led to the first time Gibbs allowed himself to let go in the office. Noticing how jealous you were getting, he got you to follow him to autopsy, taking the elevator and shutting it down. He immediately grabbed you and kissed you intensely. Then he looked deep into your eyes, silently asking if you got the message. You smiled and nodded. Gibbs was a man of a few words after all.
Weekends off were a very rare thing for the team, so when the boss said 'see you on Monday' by Friday night, it was a race to the parking lot. Obviously, a few minutes after you got home, Gibbs let himself in and you immediately jumped into his arms. "An entire weekend, just you and me?"
"Why else would I let everyone go this early?" He kissed you.
After spending the Friday night at your place, ordering takeouts and simply relaxing together, you went to his place on Saturday. Gibbs feels more comfortable there, and he likes to work on his boat while you're reading a book in the armchair he specifically brought into the basement for you.
But Gibbs wanted to spoil you. He knows he's not the most outgoing and adventurous man, and there's this tiny voice in his mind that keeps telling him you're gonna get bored of him and the relationship. So, he used all of his computer skills to search for the best and fanciest restaurants in Washington. He wished he could've asked McGee for this, but how would he explain it? 'I want to take my girlfriend on a fancy date, and spoil her the way she deserves, cause I'm afraid she'll get bored and leave me. Also, my girlfriend is someone you love like your own sister.'
It was a nightmare to do this research, but Gibbs was satisfied with himself when he found the perfect place to take you.
"Your burgundy dress is still here, right?" He asked, joining you after he took a random shower.
"I think so, why?"
He kissed your forehead. "Go get ready, we're going out."
"You're kidding? Where are we going?"
"Surprise."
You excitedly got up from the couch. "Okay, but I need to take a shower too!"
He looked at his watch. "You got an hour, good enough?"
"Yes sir!" You quickly pecked his lips and rushed upstairs.
You don't remember the last time you got into a fancy restaurant like this, you kinda felt out of place. But it was amazing to see Gibbs being this romantic with you, holding doors, pulling out the chair, he even ordered your first alcohol drink, for the both of you instead of going with a beer or bourbon. "You're spoiling me," you shyly smiled. "And you look extra handsome tonight. I still love the polo shirts and hoodies though."
"You deserve to be spoiled." He grabbed your hand and brought it to his lips. "Had to clean up nice so people don't wonder why the hell you're doing with me, more than they already do, at least."
It was amazing. The food was exquisite, the conversation flew smoothly between you, and Gibbs kept complimenting you, and not just physically. He hinted several times how lucky he felt that you were with him, loving him and standing by his side no matter what. "Jethro," you looked at your joint hands on the table before getting lost in his wonderful blue eyes. "You don't have to do this to make me happy. I'm happy as long as I'm with you."
He stayed silent for a moment, processing what you were saying and looking for the right answer. When he opened his mouth to answer, a voice came out from behind you. "Boss! Wow, fancy seeing you here!" Tony DiNozzo. Great. You couldn't get out of this, could you? "Who's your da--" he reached the table, and finally laid eyes on you.
"Hi Anthony," you teased. "Didn't recognize me from behind? That's offensive from you."
Tony kept looking between you and Gibbs, mouth open. "I think he's having a stroke." You joked to Gibbs, who softly chuckled. He had accepted that the cat was out of the bag.
"DiNozzo, you gonna keep standing here or let us go back to our date?" Gibbs asked.
"I, um, wow. I got some many questions." Gibbs gave him his famous, which got Tony to solely look at you. "I got many questions." He said, lower.
"I can still hear you, DiNozzo, and most importantly, I can still see you."
You nodded to Tony with a smile, silently telling that you'll indulge his curiosity.
"Well," you laughed after Tony was finally gone. "I guess we're no longer in a secret relationship."

Tony DiNozzo x reader - stay with you
Tumblr media
I was wondering if you could please write something about NCIS. Perhaps Tony helps you..his girlfriend or what he hopes could be a potential girlfriend... fall asleep as he found out the reader has been having bad insomnia for the past 4 nights and maybe at most you've gotten 3 hours of sleep a night since Friday night but now it's Monday night and enough is enough - @happygirl-0408 💜
Tony had a huge flirt, everybody knew that, and so did you because he spent most of his time flirting with you.
Which meant he also spent a lot of time admiring you, and being near you.
So when he noticed a huge dip in your energy, how snappy you were and how drained you seemed to be he immediately became worried.
Sitting across from you, he watched as you patted around your desk, seemingly lost in your own world or unable to focus on what you were doing.
You finally grabbed your up and picked it up, bringing it to your mouth before you stopped a looked in it with a sigh.
“Want a coffee?” You asked.
“No, I’m good thanks.”
Tony watched as you slowly stood, bumping into your desk.
“Alright thats it.”
Walking over, he took your cup and set it down, easing you back into your seat.
“What’s going on with you?” He asked.
“Huh? Nothing.”
Tony frowned.
“That is the fifth coffee you’ve had in the past hour, you’re hardly paying attention and you just walked into your desk.”
“Sometimes people walk into things DiNozzo..” you grumbled.
“I have known you for nearly five years and you have never, ever, walked into that desk.”
You glanced at him before immediately looking away, and he caught the redness of your eyes.
It clicked pretty quickly after that.
“When was the last time you slept?”
You shrugged a little.
“Not long ago.”
“When?”
You let out a heavy sigh.
“I don’t know three… four days maybe…”
“Jesus Christ, why? Why haven’t you slept? Why did you come in?”
“Cause I got bored of sitting in bed trying to sleep.” You snapped.
He looked at his watch before grabbing your bag and jacket, turning your computer screen off.
“It’s that time anyway, come on.”
“Where?”
Tony held your jacket out for you.
“Just come on, did you drive here? Please tell me for the love of everything you didn’t.”
“I’m not that stupid, I got a cab.”
He nodded, helping you into your jacket before walking you to the elevator, swinging his keys from his finger.
Despite you asking again and again he refused to tell you what he was planning, and you were just to tired to push it any further.
He helped you into his car, and drove you to your apartment, helping you inside.
“Right, go change.”
He walked away and you padded to the bedroom, throwing yourself in the bed again.
You could hear the bath running, and soon Tony came through and looked at you.
“If you choose what to sleep in I’m choosing for you.”
You grumbled a little, burying your face into the pillow.
“I warned you.”
Tony wasn’t actually going to rummage through your draws, but he knew you liked to hang up your hoodies and sweatpants in the wardrobe, so that’s where he went.
“I’m not getting anything else, here.”
He dropped them on you and left the room, letting you gather the rest of your clothes and you padded into the bathroom.
He had run you a hot bath, and filled it with bubbles.
“Have a bath, I’ll figure something out for dinner, then we’ll watch some of those horrible films you love so much.”
You laughed weakly, and nodded, closing the door as he left the bathroom and you happily climbed into the hot water.
It eased some of the tension in your muscles, and it was relaxing, but still not enough to sleep.
But true to his word Tony made you a light dinner, then he covered you in a blanket and got you to lay down.
He sat in front of you on the floor, silently, hoping you would sleep but you wouldn’t.
With a sigh, he got up, lifted your head and sat down, putting a pillow on his lap then resting your head on it, gently messaging your head.
“You need to sleep..” he whispered.
“Don’t leave..” you mumbled.
Tony smile a little.
“I won’t I promise, just try sleep.”
You nodded and closed your eyes.
Tony didn’t know if you were going to sleep, but he would sleep on your couch until he was sure you had slept enough

Friendly Lies
A/N: This is my first post/story, I’ve written before on Wattpad but never committed to writing but I feel like this is something I can actually commit too. Let me know any NCIS requests and I’m hoping to open up my writing to other fandoms soon too. This is definitely a testament to my ability to yap. Apologies for any mistakes :)
Also, I know the timelines probably don’t match up in terms of Gibbs knowing Tobias etc and Tobias having another daughter, or maybe they do, I don’t know but I thought it was a fun idea so belief will just have to be suspended. ;)
NCIS y/n fanfic, slight y/n x tony dinozzo, tony dinozzo x reader
Word count: 1969
Summary: Fornell’s daughter, Gibbs' Goddaughter, is an FBI agent working a case with her father and Godfather and decides to help get her dad to leave McGee alone after he found him asleep on the sofa with his ex-wife (I loved that episode so much) at Tony’s expense.
Tumblr media
____________________________________________
You’d only known Tim, Tony and Ziva for a few weeks but already you knew you’d be great friends. After only knowing them for 5 minutes the day you ended up sharing a case with both your father and godfather, you were making plans to hang out with them. Your godfather, or your Uncle Gibbs as you preferred to call him, was of course more than happy to see you and be working with you, although the protective dad act from the NCIS and FBI agents had driven you slightly insane. Although you loved the rare times when you and your father shared an FBI case, that time had made you nearly want to quit, which had driven you straight to Gibbs’ team, who were more than welcoming and friendly to you.
Now, you sat on Ziva’s desk, chatting to her and McGee while your father and godfather interrogated a suspect and Tony watched.
‘And that’s why your dad hates me’, concluded McGee after explaining to you what he described as the ‘incident’ between your dad and his ex-wife Diane.  Both you and Ziva had been laughing the entire time he told the story.
‘I’m sure he doesn’t hate you, Tim’, you smiled at him ‘he’s only mentioned it a few times.’
‘A few?’ Tim asked in horror, causing Ziva to snort in laughter. This topic had taken up a good 20 minutes and it had clearly been playing on his mind for a long time before that.
‘Look if you want me to talk to him I can’ you offered, trying to ease Tim’s obvious panic, but your offer only seemed to send McGee into a further state of pure anxiety.
‘No, absolutely not, that would only add to it.’ He spoke moving his chair slightly as it was currently situated next to Ziva’s desk where you were congregated. As Tim moved you gaze shifted to DiNozzo’s desk and an idea popped into your head.
‘McGee, I’m sure y/n’s right, Fornell can’t be holding on to a grudge for that long.’
‘He brings it up every time we see him!’ Tim insisted.
‘Hang on’ you quickly said jumping up from Ziva’s desk and captivating both agent’s attention, ‘I think I know how to get my dad to forget about you and Diane.’
‘First of all there was no me and Diane’ Tim quickly insisted, causing the pair of female agents to roll their eyes as they failed to hold in their laughs ‘But what’s the idea because I will do anything to make him stop bringing it up?’. Both agents’ gazes were fixed on you as you moved from Ziva’s desk to sit on Tonys.
‘Oh you wouldn’t have to do anything McGee, it would be all me’, you smirked as the two agents watched eagerly, ‘this isn’t entirely selfless though, remember when Tony told Gibbs and my dad that I’d been sleeping with an NCIS agent to try and piss them off? And it took me weeks to convince them he was just trying to mess with me and them?’, the two NCIS agents nodded, smirks growing on their faces as they pieced together what you were planning to do, ‘well I think it’s time I get Tony back for that, don’t you?’.
Just as you said this your father and Gibbs reappeared into the room and as they did, you got up from Tony’s desk and made a beeline for them, meeting them just in front of Gibbs’ desk.
‘Dad, Uncle Gibbs I need to talk to you’ you said, grabbing their attention in the most serious and anxious voice you could muster, grabbing one of their hands in each of yours, ‘I know this is really important and I want to be honest with you both’ you took a deep breath to highlight your nervousness. At this point you had captured your father’s and Godfather’s attention, squeezing their hands as you raised your eyes to meet theirs you finally said, ‘I’m pregnant.’
Now Ziva and Tim were clearly shocked and impressed by your lies, hiding their laughter surprisingly well and instead adorning looks of shock and intrigue. Your father and godfather on the other hand, with hands still held by yours, were looking at you with such pure shock your father had turned slightly white. Before they could even utter a word, you quickly continued, ‘and its Tony’s’.
At this revelation, McGee and Ziva quickly turned so that Gibbs and Fornell couldn’t see the laughter that was daring to burst out. The silence was quickly broken by a synchronised ‘WHAT?’ from the two men who held your hands. Their gazes had turned harsher, but you knew that if you wanted this to have the best effect you had to really milk it.
‘I know we haven’t known each other long’ you stated looking them both in the eyes, but were quickly interrupted by your father half shouting, ‘How did this happen?’, quickly followed by Gibbs’ ‘I’m sorry what?!’
Before you could think of an answer though everyone’s attention was diverted in the sound of a voice, Tony’s voice, ‘hey boss. Fornell.  You look like you’ve seen a ghost, what did y/n do? Tell you she’s pregnant? I told you she was sleeping with an NCIS agent.’, as he Tony laughed at his own joke, Tony sauntered towards his desk, but only for a second before Fornell was on him, pinning him to the wall. Tony’s face quickly shifted to panic and confusion, his eyes scanning the room.
‘You got my daughter pregnant!’, Fornell shouted.
‘What? No’ DiNozzo squeaked out as Gibbs removed Fornell from him, freeing him from the wall. You quickly shifted your eyes to where Tim and Ziva were still at Ziva’s desk, attempting to contain their laughter. You knew you didn’t have long before the two of them blew the prank, but you also knew that the damage would be done soon enough and you would have got Tony back and your dad would definitely forget about finding McGee and Diane on the sofa asleep together.
Suddenly Tony rushed over to you seeking some sort of explanation or help but before he could squeak out another word, you grabbed his arm hugging it slightly and turning the pair of you to face Gibbs and Tobias.
‘Me and Tony are in love, dad, you can’t stop our love’ but as you got to the end of your sentence McGee and Ziva had burst into full belly laughter, causing you too to crack and lean on Tony as you couldn’t stop laughing. As the three of you continued to laugh, Gibbs only rolled his eyes at your antics, shaking his head slightly and letting out a slight chuckle. He knew that DiNozzo had told Tobias that you were sleeping with someone at the agency to piss him off and he also knew that your dad had practically become a helicopter parent for a week after he had done so.
As Gibbs moved back towards his desk, you patted tony on the chest before calming yourself enough to say, ‘you should have seen your face’. Quickly, McGee walked behind you both to return to his desk, slapping Tony on the back as he continued to laugh at Tony’s expense. He stopped by your side quickly whispering to you how he was now free from any comments about Diane. Your gaze then shifted to your father who still stood in front of you both, surprisingly quite but glaring at you both.
‘Gotta keep you young dad.’ You smiled at him, kissing his check and moving back to Ziva’s desk, the pair of you still giggling and smiling. Your dad however, kept his gaze on Tony, glowering at him, as Tony seemed to continue to shrink under his glare, still looking stunned and scared. Finally his gaze shifted as Gibbs called him telling him to go down to autopsy to see Abby with him.
At first he didn’t move, continuing to stare, before finally moving when he heard his name shouted by Gibbs. ‘I still don’t trust you DiNozzo.’ Tobias said, finally moving towards Gibbs’ desk, his gaze remaining on Tony until they were out of site.
At this point you, McGee and Ziva all began to laugh again with the same force you did when your dad had pinned Tony to the wall.
‘I did not think you would take it that far’ commented Ziva, ‘I admire your commitment’. You smiled at her amongst the laughter but couldn’t respond as tony too moved towards Ziva’s desk, where McGee had now joined you and began to stare at you all.
‘Not funny guys, I thought I was going to die!’, Tony’s statement only caused more laughter though, as his hand reached his neck, fiddling with his shirt collar even though your father had only grabbed his shoulders. Finally you spoke through the laughter, ‘I told you I was going to get you back Tony and McGee needed by dad to lay off him about the whole thing with my ex stepmother, so really I was just helping a friend’ you smiled a sickly sweet smile at him before the phone at his desk began to ring causing Tony to quickly scurry over to his desk, grabbing the phone before answering.
‘Yes boss?’ he questioned into the phone, as you high fived Tim and Ziva, ‘right away boss’, followed by him quickly grabbing his things after he put down the phone. ‘Gibbs says Abby’s matched the ballistics from the gun, wants me and Y/N to bring in the suspect.’ He stated as he continued to gather his stuff. As you listened, you quickly grabbed your bag that was sat next to Gibbs’ desk, but before you could leave Gibbs and your father returned, arguing as they walked.
‘I’ll go with DiNozzo Gibbs’ your dad argued, his gaze landing on Tony, at which point Tony swallowed.
‘No you’re not’, Gibbs deadpanned.
‘Then, I’ll go with them both’ he stated as he moved towards the pair now standing together with their bags, but not before Gibbs grabbed his shoulder directing him towards the director’s office and repeating ‘No you’re not’.
As you and Tony turned and began to walk towards the elevator, he quickly began to argue with you. ‘You know your dad is going to kill me, right?’ he questioned as you pressed the elevator button, your gaze shifting to him.
‘No he won’t’ you dismissed, ‘but he won’t trust you for a while, just like how he’s been hovering over me for weeks after you told him I was secretly sleeping with someone at your office, or like how he constantly brings up that time he found Diane and McGee together asleep. I guess it’s just time for you to get a taste of what we’ve been putting up with for years now.’ You smirked as the elevator reached your floor and you stepped inside, turning slightly as you watched Tony’s face change from looking like he was about to argue, to just giving up.
‘You know’, he turned to look at you, smirking, fully grasping your attention, ‘if you were to sleep with anyone in this office, I’d be the perfect guy. You’ve already told your dad and although he’ll keep glaring at me and probably wanting to kill me, he’d never suspect that we were actually sleeping together.’ He said, waggling his eyebrows at you as you chuckled, and he reciprocated your laughter.
As the elevator doors, reopened on the ground floor, you turned away from Tony, shaking your head slightly and rolling your eyes , before simply stating, ‘In your dreams DiNozzo’ before walking out of the elevator, not missing Tony’s whispered reply, ‘oh you bet’, before he followed you out to find your suspect.

Prince Charming
Tumblr media
Anthony DiNozzo x fem!reader Warnings: language, smut eluded to, maybe a tiny hint of insecurity but not really, just anxiety in a brand new relationship. Love Tony? Get added to the taglist here!
At the shrill sound of your alarm your hand darted out faster than you could think, quietly smacking the device to silence it. Doing your best not to shift the bed too much, you cracked an eye open, looking over to Tony in the darkness of the room, watching him for a couple of minutes. He was still sound asleep, laying on his side, arm reaching out to where you’d been cuddled up and he looked unbelievably peaceful. Most unfair of all was just how cute he looked, not needing a single moment of touching up or priming to be his normal dreamy self, completely unlike you.
Which is of course, why you were up early and setting that extra alarm just to make sure you didn’t miss your chance. Moving impossibly slow you slipped from under the blanket, forgoing slippers to not make any extra noise as you tip toed from the bed and into the en suite, silently closing the door behind you. Letting out a soft breath of relief of making it this far, you flicked on one of the small lamps as to not draw attention to yourself yet. As your eyes adjusted and you were met with your reflection you grimaced, not wanting to be bare faced in front of your new boyfriend yet you’d slept in your makeup, a rookie mistake. On any regular night that was bad enough, but considering the activities prior to sleeping the night before, you were incredibly thankful Tony wasn’t seeing you like this.
There was an internal debate over make up wipe versus fully washing your face, part of your brain thinking the water would be too loud, the other half arguing opening a new pack of wipes would be just as bad. In the end you had to settle for both, washing away the dirt and grime while using the wipe to get rid of the smudged eyeliner in the creases of your eyes. Letting your skin dry you quickly pulled a comb through your hair, getting rid of any of the big knots and finger combing through a couple of curls in hopes that they’d be practically perfect beach waves in a moments time. You certainly weren’t going to forget about brushing your teeth, scrubbing as hard and quick as you could to make sure your breath was perfectly fresh before swiping on fresh deodorant. You glanced toward the bedroom, pausing your tasks for a moment to listen and thankfully all you could hear were Tony’s soft snores. You had just enough time to wipe on some tinted moisturizer, hiding the couple of blemishes that were already coming in from sleeping in your makeup and a quick coat of mascara to brighten up your eyes. Finally you grabbed the bralette and matching panties you’d stashed in a drawer before your date, slipping into them, tugging the lacy fabric until it was perfect and with a satisfied smile, you flicked out the light.
Opening the door you hesitated in the doorway, listening to the sound of silence before tip toeing back across the room and sliding back into your side of the bed. As carefully as you could you nestled in beside Tony on your side, adjusting the pillow so your hair wasn’t a rats nest and you could ‘wake up’ facing him looking closer to perfect. You slipped under his outstretched hand and he let out a quiet grunt, arm wrapping tighter around you and pulling you toward him. Your breath caught in your throat for a second until a hint of his cologne hit you and your entire body relaxed, a small smile on your cheeks.
Just as your eyes fluttered shut and you thought you might actually fall back asleep again his lips brushed your forehead, feather light once, and then a second time more firmly. His hand came to brush back a few pieces of your hair, trailing down the side of your face to cup your cheek, thumb stroking across your skin before he kissed you gently.
“You know, you don’t have to do that.” He murmured, voice thick with sleep.
“What?” You feigned a yawn, letting out a soft sigh as you opened your eyes, catching him gazing down at you with a happy grin and you felt a heat creeping into your cheeks.
“Well for starters I’m pretty sure I got you fully naked last night.” His fingers snuck under the strap of your bralette, free hand shifting the blanket down around your waist, “though I will admit I do like the look of this.”
“Got up to pee, felt weird walking around naked.” You fibbed with a shrug and he chuckled, leaving another kiss on your forehead.
“Fixed your make up too.” This time his lips landed on yours again, humming into the kiss, “and I believe I detect hints of peppermint.”
“Ugh. Fine.” You grumbled, swatting against his bare chest, “just stop.”
“Hmm?” He asked, lips pressing against the corner of your mouth, “you want me to stop kissing you? My oh so beautiful girlfriend?”
“I look a mess in the mornings.” You groaned, rolling over in his arms and his grip tightened around you, yanking you back to him.
“No, I’m not letting you go, its too early to get out of bed.” He rubbed his stubble against your neck and you shivered, scrunching up your shoulders in an attempt to get away from him, “absolutely not, you’re stuck here now.” He insisted, his fingers beginning to tickle at your sides, pulling small laughs from you as you struggled in his arms.
“I need to pee!” You squealed, trying to grab hold of at least one of his hands so you could dart from the bed.
“Okay, okay, okay.” He finally surrendered when you got a nice elbow into his ribs and you darted from the bed.
You could feel his eyes on you as you crossed back through the room, lingering on your lace covered frame before you slipped back under the covers and snuggled back into him. Tony eagerly wrapped an arm back around you, leaving a kiss on the top of your head.
“Better?” He asked and you giggled.
“Much.”
“Why didn’t you just pee when you were up earlier?” He asked, shifting his head back to look at you and you grimaced.
“I didn’t want to risk waking you up.” You shrugged, chewing on your lip.
“Hey..” his voice softened as his finger curled under your chin, tilting your gaze back up to his eyes, “what’s goin’ on with you this morning? All this being sneaky, cute underwear, minty fresh teeth?”
“I already told you; I look a mess in the mornings.”
“So what? It’s not like I look like prince charming.”
You let out a huff, burrowing your face into his chest, “somehow you always look like prince charming.”
Tony laughed softly, his hand cupping the back of your head, fingertips scratching your scalp soothingly, “I’ll accept the compliment but I really don’t think that’s accurate, you’ve got rose tinted glasses on.”
“Exactly!” You huffed again, “everything’s so new and fresh and fantastic and without any flaws. I couldn’t risk waking up with my face all smeared, messy hair looking like a troll. That’d scare you away.”
“Oh sweetheart….” His hand curled around your cheek, turning your face up to see his smiling one, “I don’t care if you think you look like Godzilla when you wake up, you’re my beautiful Godzilla.”
“Nice analogy.” You half grumbled and he laughed.
“I mean it.”
“Really?”
“Absolutely.” He kissed the tip of your nose, “baby you have me completely and totally wrapped around your finger, you know that? I don’t care if I wake up and you’re snoring away with drool crusted in the corners of your mouth, I’m still smitten.”
“Ew..” Your nose crinkled and he laughed.
“I mean it.” He caressed your cheek softly, gazing down at you and you felt yourself utterly melt at the admiration pouring from his eyes, he wasn’t kidding, he was completely smitten and nothing else mattered but waking up next to you.
“You’re such a softie.” You giggled, leaning up to kiss him as your lips curved into a grin, a sense of joy spreading through you as you felt his lips do the same.
“And this softie meant it, it’s way too early to get out of bed.” He wrapped a sturdy arm around you, pulling you tight to him and you let out a little squeal as he practically crushed you into his chest.
“Well I’m awake already…” you mumbled against his torso, feeling the vibration as he laughed, rolling over to grab the tv remote.
“Pick something.” He suggested, handing it over to you as he let his grip relax a little bit.
You let out a happy sigh, half curled into his side as his arm stayed around you and you began to flick through the channels until you found something satisfactory. Tony’s hand trailed up and down your back, occasionally fidgeting with the lace of the bralette, twisting it around his fingers before letting it go and moving his hand upwards to play with your hair.
“I could get used to mornings like this.” He murmured softly and you hummed happily, turning your face to his.
“Me too.” You smiled and his hand cupped your cheek again, moving in to kiss you tenderly, his lips moving with grace against your own until you pulled away and his brow furrowed.
“What?”
“You may look like prince charming… but you have terrible morning breath.” You winced slightly and then burst out into a giggle and the feigned aghast expression on his face.
“Oh come on, the one time I forget to brush before bed.”
“Hey, dentists orders, twice daily.”
“I was a little distracted.” He smirked, free hand gently groping at your ass, “how was I supposed to be thinking of teeth health with someone as stunning as you next to me.” He leant in for another kiss but was met with your finger tip pressing him away.
“Tony….”
“Fine.” He playfully rolled his eyes, choosing instead to leave a kiss on the top of your head before heading to the bathroom to take care of the situation. The sound of running water echoed into the room and you let out a very happy sigh, sinking deeper down into the pillows as happiness radiated through your entire body.
Yes, you certainly could get used to mornings like these.

favoritism
pairing: tony dinozzo x reader
summary: mcgee notices that tony is nicer to you than he is to anyone else on the team, so he calls him out on it. then, tony has to swoop in to protect you from your aggressive boyfriend.
word count: 2.2k
Tumblr media
You, Tony, and McGee had just made it back to the office after visiting a crime scene. McGee was mad at Tony because he let you sit in the front seat.
“McGee don’t look so sad. You’ll get frown lines.” Tony said, looking over at McGee pouting. He just glared at Tony. “McGee, I would’ve given you the seat if I knew you cared this much.” You told him, honestly.
“Thank you, but I’m not mad at you. I’m mad at Tony.” He said, giving you a smile and then glaring at Tony.
You giggled to yourself at their childish nature. Tony and McGee were always feuding over something. “You are the probie. Y/N has seniority, therefore, she gets shotgun.” Tony explained.
McGee just rolled his eyes. You walked over to McGee’s desk and hugged him from behind. He rested his hand on your arm. “I’m sorry, Tim,” you said, kissing the top of his head.
“Tony, you are so full of it. It’s not a seniority issue. It’s because you think she’s pretty, which you are, of course.” McGee explained his point. Tony was shocked. Of course, Tony was absolutely attracted to you, but for McGee to reveal that.
“Do you give me special treatment because you think I’m pretty, Dinozzo?” You asked him, cocking your head to the side. Ducky, who was walking by at the time, replied “of course he does.”
“I think you’re jealous, McGee” Tony suggested, desperate to change the subject. You leaned your head to rest on McGee’s shoulder. “Don’t listen to him, Timmy.” You whispered before heading down to Abby’s lab to discuss something with her.
When you came back up, Tony was eating a sandwich at his desk. “Oh that smells really good. Is that from Bert’s deli down the street?” You asked, sitting down at your desk. Tony nodded his head and gestured for you to come over.
“Take a bite,” he encouraged, as he handed you the sandwich. He stared intently as you took a bite, watching your reaction. “Mmm, that’s good. Thank you,” you said, kissing him on his cheek.
Tony had a cheeky grin on his face. You turned around and saw McGee was frowning again. “What’s wrong, McProbie,” Tony teased.
“I missed lunch and asked if I could have some of your sandwich. You told me no.” McGee said, with his jaw clenched. Tony slid his arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him. “Not to damper your confidence, McGee, but you’re not as pretty as Y/N is,” Tony said, smiling up at you.
Gibbs walks in the room, causing you to run back to your desk. Gibbs didn’t even say a word. He just pointed at McGee. “The system is still running. We haven’t got any hits yet.” McGee said, bracing for the wrath of Gibbs.
You noticed the disappointed expression on Gibbs’s face. “I got it, boss,” Tony said, throwing a balled-up piece of paper at McGee.
Gibbs turned to you next. “I’m still trying to get the files from the police department. They are being slow to respond though.” you explained. Gibbs nodded, and no piece of paper came flying at you.
McGee looked around, not believing what he was seeing. “Nothing for her? Really?” McGee asked, looking over at Tony.
“She’s his favorite. That’s how it goes,” Gibbs said, shrugging.
You stopped him. “Wait, what do you mean favorite?” You asked, curiously. Gibbs assumed this was common knowledge.
“Everyone’s got a favorite. Mine is Abby. Abby’s is McGee. You are Tony’s,” Gibbs explained. You considered what he was saying, and it made sense.
“I’m honored, Tony.” You said, smiling at him. He held up his hand in a salute. “No problem,” He said, giving you a cheeky wink.
“I want more answers when I get back.” Gibbs said, storming out of the room.
You stared at your silent phone, praying for the police department to call you back. You continued sending them emails and waiting for the phone to ring.
“Tony, I’m bored,” you whined, looking over at him. He could have melted from the sweet expression on your face. “C’mere,” he waved you over his desk.
You quickly walked over to his desk and sat on the side of it. “Entertain me,” you begged him. He rolled his chair closer to you. After placing his hand on your knee, he leaned in close to you. “I could find us an empty conference room. I could keep you entertained for at least an hour.” He jokingly flirted.
You giggled to yourself, moving his hand back down to your knee from where it had been inching up your leg. “I don’t think my boyfriend would appreciate that very much.” You admitted.
Tony frowned. He hated whenever you brought up your boyfriend. From what Tony heard from you, he wasn’t the best guy. Also, the few times they had spoken, your boyfriend was an asshole to Tony. Tony hated that you stayed with him.
“I don’t know what you mean. Your boyfriend is right here, and he doesn’t mind at all.” He said, gesturing towards himself. Joke flirting was one of the main ways you and Tony communicated, but some times it felt less and less like a joke.
“You’ll have to settle for work-boyfriend. Only if you play your cards right though,” you teased him.
You grabbed his hands in yours, pulling him to stand up. You spread your legs, so he could stand right in front of you. You wrapped your arms around his waist, hugging him. He slid his arms around your back, holding you tightly.
“I hate Baltimore PD. They’re dodging all my calls.” You complained into Tony’s chest. He used one hand to stroke your hair. “I could make some calls for you and see if I could pull some strings.” He offered, making you smile.
You squeezed him tighter. “Thank you thank you thank you,” you said, enthusiastically.
“Of course, I mean you’re the prettiest one here. You could probably ask me to do all work, and I would just say yes.” Tony said, shooting glares over at McGee for his earlier statement.
“Why the hell are you hitting on my girlfriend?” You heard someone yell behind you. You turned quickly and saw Kevin, your boyfriend. Tony instantly felt the mood change. He saw how aggressive Kevin looked.
You stepped in front of Kevin, keeping him from getting any closer to Tony. “Honey, Tony was just kidding,” you told him, trying to keep Tony uninvolved.
“Come on, McGoober,” Tony said, walking away with McGee to give you both some privacy. Kevin wasn’t done yet. “I’m keeping my eye on you,” he called after Tony.
Tony looked over his shoulder to make sure you were safe. You gave him a small nod. Tony and McGee sat down in the break room. “Why don’t you tell her how you feel?” McGee asked Tony.
Tony glared over at McGee. “And how do I feel about her?” He asked, playing dumb. Tony wasn’t exactly loving McGee trying to play relationship counselor.
“C’mon, you like her, Tony. You’re always smiling when she’s around. You get all excited when you see her. There’s nothing wrong with that.” McGee told him. Tony knew he was right. He knew he had feelings for you, but he shouldn’t.
“Yeah, except for that one thing. What was it? Oh yeah, that she has a boyfriend!” Tony said. His tone was dripping with sarcasm. McGee felt for his friend. “She has a shitty boyfriend that’s an asshole to her and her friends. You really think she’d pick that over her friend who cares about her more than anything?” McGee tried to reason with Tony.
Tony sighed to himself. He hated how complicated love was. He had found the perfect girl, but she was with someone else.
Someone else walked into the break room. As the door was briefly open, Tony heard you yelling at Kevin.
He jumped up from his seat, heading slowly back towards you and Kevin. He wanted to give you space to handle it, but also wanted to be close if Kevin crossed a line.
“Kevin, I said leave.” You snapped. Kevin grabbed your wrist forcefully.
Tony ran over immediately. He yanked Kevin’s hand off of you and stood in between the two of you.
“Hey, buddy. Pretty sure she asked you to leave,” Tony snapped. His fists were clenched at his side, and he was fuming. “Why don’t you just stay out of this? I’m trying to have a conversation with my girlfriend, not her coworker who’s hot for her.” Kevin countered, trying to push Tony to the side.
Tony flipped him around and slammed him against the wall. “Unless you want to get charged with assaulting two federal agents, you’re going to leave now and leave her alone.” Tony growled in his ear, shoving him towards the elevator.
As soon as the elevator doors closed, Tony raced over to you. “Are you okay? Did he hurt you?” He asked, examining your wrist for any bruises.
“I’m okay, Tony,” you said, a few tears slipping out of your eyes. He wrapped his arms around your waist, giving you a tight hug.
“I don’t want to cry on your shirt.” You said, trying to pull away from him. He tightened his grip. “I don’t mind, I promise.” He said, softly.
“Oh, why do you stay with him?” Tony muttered, thinking out loud. He continued to rub your back, trying to comfort you. “Who else am I supposed to date? You?” You asked him, and you felt him freeze. You didn’t even realize you said it until the words were out of your mouth.
“Let’s go get some fresh air.” Tony said, pulling you out to the balcony and sitting next to you on a bench.
You leaned your head over on his shoulder. “I’m sorry that Kevin tried to drag you into our fight. He told me that he slept with another woman this weekend. When I got mad and started yelling at him, he tried to justify it by saying that you and I must have hooked up at least a few times.” You explained the situation to him.
“Inside, you scoffed at the idea of dating me. Am I really that terrible?” He asked you, referring to your previous conversation. You quickly shook your head. “No, I just meant you wouldn’t reciprocate the way I feel about you. I didn’t think you would be a bad boyfriend at all.” You told him.
Tony tilted his head to the side, replaying what you said in his head. “And how do you feel about me?” Tony asked you, curiously. After years of waiting, he was almost there.
“That doesn’t matter. I knew you’d never feel the same way,” you deflected, worrying about Tony looking at you differently.
“I have been flirting with you for years trying to get you to see that I feel exactly the same way.” He whispered, leaning over towards your ear. You felt a shiver run down your spine. Did Tony really feel the same way?
“I thought you just had a flirty personality. I didn’t think anything of it.” You confessed. You knew it sounded stupid now. Tony chuckled to himself. “Nope, just with you,” he replied, nudging you with his leg.
You looked up at him. You could almost see a twinkle in his eye. “I know I shouldn’t, but I really wanna kiss you right now.” He said, almost like he was under your trance.
“Why shouldn’t you?” You asked him, scooting closer to him. “Well your very angry boyfriend probably wouldn’t appreciate it the most.” He said, glancing down at your lips.
You shook your head. “Ex-boyfriend. I was kicking him out cause I dumped him,” you corrected him.
As soon as Tony heard the words come out of your mouth, his lips were on yours. He didn’t want to waste a second.
His hands traced down your sides, landing on your hips. His thumbs drew little circles against your skin. You ran your fingers through his hair causing him to smile into the kiss.
He tightened his grip on your waist, picking you up so you were sitting in his lap facing him. “I’ve got you, sweetheart,” he whispered, in response to your shocked expression.
You wrapped your legs behind his back, and he moved his grip to the back of your legs. You held on tightly to him as he stood up, carrying you.
His lips didn’t leave yours for a second. He was in love with the taste of your strawberry lipgloss. He was sure it was all over his face, but he didn’t care.
He walked over to the wall, pushing you up against it. “You look so beautiful.” He mumbled against your lips. You smirked, seeing the effect that you had on him.
You both heard the door to the balcony slam open. “Taking the favoritism too far, Dinozzo. Back to work, both of you.” Gibbs snapped at you both.
You both rushed back to your desks. McGee noticed the shiny lipgloss covering Tony’s lips and the slight pink on his cheeks. McGee knew he was right about both of you.
Tony grinned at you over the top of his computer. He knew you’d both be finishing that later.

Black & Gold
A/N: I just love the idea of our goofy, giddy boy being with a no-nonsense lawyer type who’s so soft for Tony and Tony only 🥹 Like, “she calls him Bear because his mother’s maiden name was Paddington” type soft…but she also likes to dominate him, u feel me? (Sorry if this sucks, the idea came to me and I banged it out in like a half hour)
You rolled your eyes with a huff as you stepped out of the elevator into the NCIS bullpen, tucking your phone between your ear and shoulder as you dug around in your purse for your beloved Burt’s Bees- mango flavor, Tony’s favorite. “Absolutely not,” you growled, the frown on your face melting away when you caught sight of your boyfriend at his desk. Tony looked up and met your smile with one of his own, shaking his head when your features hardened again and saying a silent prayer for the idiot on the phone daring enough to challenge the likes of you.
“Tell your client he should’ve thought of that before laying a finger on mine, Gareth,” you snarled. “I’ll see you in hell. Or court. Wherever you end up first.”
You paused, eyebrow steadily rising as you listened to the opposing lawyer’s response. “Oh, I promise you’ll be able to spot me. I’ll be the one serving up your head on a silver platter!” Pressing the red button on the screen, you dropped your phone into your purse with a sigh. “That used to be a lot more satisfying when they snapped shut.”
“Borrow mine next time,” a voice called from the desk catty-corner to Tony’s, and you threw your boyfriend’s boss a charming smile.
“Y’know, Jethro, I might just take you up on that.” Turning your attention back to the handsome devil before you, you ran your perfectly manicured nails along his jaw and offered a simple, “Hi, Bear.”
Tony nearly purred, catching himself at the last second and narrowly escaping being the butt of his colleagues’ jokes. “Hi, beautiful. Was that about the Harvey case?”
You shook your head in disappointment, dropping your visitor’s badge on his desk before leaning against the back of his chair. “Don’t even get me started. How was your day, everyone?”
“Interesting, to say the least,” Ziva smirked, and you raised an eyebrow out of curiosity. “McGee kept us entertained with his… technical skills, shall we say.”
“Oh?” You turned your attention to Tim, noting the flush creeping along his cheeks and his inability to make eye contact with you. “Don’t be shy, Tim,” you teased, loving how the younger brunette seemed to always be flustered around you.
“Yeah, Peeping Tim, tell Y/N what you found.”
“Tony!” McGee’s head shot up to meet Tony’s challenge with a glare, the blush on his cheeks growing darker when you cocked your head at him.
“Well, Timothy?” You let your hands roam over Tony’s broad shoulders, squeezing every so often and relishing the firm muscle beneath your fingertips.
“Let me first say that I didn’t go looking for anything. Well, I did, but it’s because my coffee was gone from my desk and-”
“Spit it out, Elf Lord,” Gibbs called from his desk, sounding disinterested although he was no doubt enjoying McGee’s obvious discomfort. “You saw Y/N and DiNozzo playing grab-ass on his desk.”
“Oh, Tim,” you tutted playfully. “If you wanted to watch, you could’ve just asked.”
Ziva barked out a laugh and Gibbs met your gaze with an amused smirk, playfully berating you for instigating a breach of professionalism after hours when the telltale sound of Abby’s boots rounding the corner joined the mix.
“Is she here? Are you here? Oh, thank god, you’re here,” she squealed in delight, grabbing your hand and whisking you off to the lab. “Five minutes, Tony, I promise!”
Ziva waited until Abby had dragged you a safe distance away before turning to her colleague. “I still do not know how you managed to trick her into a relationship with you. She is just so cool and confident with her all black outfits and stilettos and you are… you.”
“I’ll have you know it was love at first sight,” Tony shot back smugly.
“Really?” McGee quipped. “Could’ve fooled us.”
The NCIS agent had strutted into your office with a practiced ease, credentials in one hand, the other poised to shake yours. “Anthony DiNozzo, NCIS. Call me Tony.”
“Y/N Y/LN,” you had returned in kind, placing your hand in his. You were immediately struck by his olive green eyes, twinkling with clear mischief although they held something deeper, more genuine behind the bravado.
“What a coincidence,” he had smiled, “that’s my wife’s name.”
The erratic fluttering of your heart had stopped abruptly, although your face remained unchanged, the art of hiding your emotions in the courtroom coming in handy. You had pulled your hand back from his grip, gaze subtly flicking toward his bare left hand. “You’re married?”
He had drawn his bottom lip between his teeth for a brief moment before smirking at you. “No, ma’am, not yet.”
“Would’ve sealed the deal that day itself, if not for her being a key witness in our case,” Tony sighed, crossing his hands behind his head as he replayed the moment like one of his favorite movies.
“Humble yourself, DiNozzo,” you cracked as you returned to the bullpen with Abby in tow. “You practically begged me to go out with you.”
“I did not, you were just playing hard to get.”
“Okay, buddy,” you snorted, meeting his gaze and puckering your lips in an air-kiss to soften the blow. Glancing down at your watch, you added, “We’ve gotta get going. You, me, and your ridiculously skinny tie have a date with a private chef at home. Goodnight, everyone,” you smiled at each member of Tony’s team as you passed by their desks on the way out.
Fiddling with the Italian silk around his neck, Tony laughed, speaking to no one in particular. “She actually loves them. You love my ties, right, honey?”
“Yeah!” you called over your shoulder without turning around, a playful smirk blooming across your face. “I love ‘em cause I can use them as a leash.” You pressed the call button for the elevator, then turned and whistled for Tony, trying not to break character by bursting out laughing. You wished you could see the stunned look on McGee’s face right now, but Ziva and Abby’s reenactment tomorrow would have to do.
“She’s just joking,” Tony waved his hand with an awkward chuckle, considering his options for exactly half a second before gathering up his things and running to join you, throwing out a hurried, “Night, guys!”
“I still do not understand their dynamic,” Ziva said after the two of you had exited, shaking her head with a soft smile.
“I think they’re what kids these days would call a ‘black cat and golden retriever’ couple,” McGee offered.
“That certainly fits,” Gibbs conceded. “Tony’s loyal, loving, and has a perpetually dumb, goofy grin on his face.” Mouthing at the tip of his reading glasses, he muttered, “Now, if only I could train him.”
McGee pulled out a bag of pretzels from the top drawer of his desk and shook it with a self-satisfied smile. “You just need some positive reinforcement, Boss.”

may i request sugar daddy!gibbs? <3
Money, Money, Money (Sugar Daddy! Gibbs x Reader)
Late night, black coffee, handsome man, all alone. Third time this week, 5th week in a row you’ve seen him. You flirted often fishing for bigger tips, trying to pay bills you couldn’t even afford to have. You lived on your own. 18 years old, last 2 months of high school, and barely a plan and money to plan life with.
“See you’re here again!” You say happily topping him off.
“Hey! Rough week” he sighed, eyeing you gently.
“You work at… don’t tell me” you say trying to remember. “NCIS!” You exclaim.
“Good memory” he smiles. “How are you (y/n)?” He asks.
“Ah I’m alright. Just trying to get off work as soon as possible, you know” you shrug. “Later it gets the scarier it is outside.”
“Well, what time do you get off?” Gibbs asks.
“12” you sigh, looking towards the clock. Only 9:45. “Got about 2 hours left”
“Yeah, remember the goal kid.” Gibbs smiled. “Say, what college do you plan on attending? I remember you saying you were a senior and it’s almost the end of the year.”
“Oh, college.” You say quietly. “I can’t afford it, so I won’t be going. Maybe in the future” his phone began ringing. He clicked it silent before turning to you,
“Ah I see… well (y/n) have a good night. I’ve gotta get back to work” he stands.
“See ya around, Jet” you saluted him.
“Jet…” he said thoughtfully. “I like that!!”
Time skip~
The clock hit 12 and your shift was over. You walked out to see a familiar face leaning against a car. You smiled as he approached you.
“Hey Jet! What’re you still doin out?”
“Driving you home” he shakes his keys. “Scary out here” you can see a smirk.
“Coming from a guy who’s packing” you roll your eyes as you approach the car. You were gonna let yourself get a ride with a man who had a gun… a lot safer than walking an hour without a gun. That was how you justified getting into that car.
“Oh shut up” he opened the door and you got in.
When you arrived at your shitty apartment that you could barely afford you saw Gibbs eyes search the perimeter.
“I’ll walk you in… I don’t like the looks of that guy on the corner” he motions with his head.
“It’s really alright. Thank you for the ride!” You say opening your door. Jethro reached across and shut it before you could step out. Silently he got out and walked around the car. Opening it.
“Let’s go” he grinned sweetly. You caved and bring him up. His eyes fell on your small apartment. Clean, organized, your life could fit in a box. He made notes of things to buy you.
“Well since you’re up here” you say as you take off your coat. “Coffee? Tea? Might actually have a bottle of soda in the fridge…” you trail as you thought about it.
“Coffee’s great, yeah” he accepts. The two of you stayed up talking late into the night before he left. Your insecurity of what you could afford present in the back of your mind.
A few days later~
You woke up to a knock on your front door. You opened it to see a delivery guy at your door.
“Delivery for a…” he looked at his clipboard. “(Y/n)(l/n)”
“Yeah, yeah that’s me” you say. “What is this?” The man shrugged.
“A car? If you didn’t order it, not my problem. I can’t take it back.” He said as you signed the paper. He handed you the keys. “Beautiful car by the way” he walked away. You closed the door behind you, walking downstairs. Outside you eagerly clicked the key, looking around for the car, your eyes finally settling on the black dodge challenger sitting in a parking spot a few meters down.
“Oh my god” you say nearly in tears. You ran back upstairs and hurriedly got dressed for work, hoping to see Jethro there. And sure enough when you pulled up in your new car, there was Jethro, leaning on his car again.
“You fucking bastard” you run and hug him, you cry happily into his shoulder. He laughed as you did so.
“Wait wait, I get you a car and you call me Bastard!!!” He exclaimed. “I got something else for you…” he digs his hand into his pocket, another key coming out on his finger.
“Jethro…” you say looking at it as a bright green address tag danced in your eyes.
“Coffee first. Key later” you nodded as you lead him inside.
Time skip~
You ended your shift early to go with Jethro. You blindly tailed him into a nicer apartment complex in a better part of Quatico. Your heart began to flutter as you parked.
You walked into a nice apartment on the 3rd floor. Beautiful black granite kitchen tops, newly installed appliances.
“So…” he says. “What furniture were you thinking you wanted for your new apartment?” He says handing you magazines.
“Holy shit.” You whisper. “This is mine?” He nodded. “This place is mine?” You gasp.
“All paid off. So is the car. And so is your degree.”
“Degree?” You ask. “No you didn’t”
“Yes. I did” he smiled.
“Shut up” you tear up as he passes you a folder. The big words ‘WELCOME TO VIRGINIA TECH’ inscribed. “How did you-“
“Pulled some strings… I think your 1560 SAT score and perfect GPA helped a lot…” he said.
“Oh my god” you cry out jumping into his arms. “I will pay it all back” you say.
“Nope. No need. Just keep being a good girl and I will give you the world” he says.
“Thank you so much!!”
“Of course! You deserve it” he winked. “Now pick out some furniture. It’s your reward for getting into Virginia Tech” you kisses your cheek.

What Really Happened
(an NCIS fanfic)
September 2024. Tali has some questions about her parents' trip to Paris nearly fifteen years prior, and she's determined to get the details.
Written for the September 2024 Tiva Fic Challenge! This month's prompt was "Jet Lag: What Really Happened?"
Read on AO3
Tumblr media
For as long as Tali could remember, her father had told her a story.
Twenty-four hours in Paris. A whirlwind trip, romantic and magical. The thing is, every time he told the story, it was different. Details changed, dialogue was exaggerated to unbelievable proportions… What it lacked in detail, it made up for in sentimentality.
“And then I told her she was the most beautiful thing in the city, even prettier than the Eiffel Tower when it sparkles.”
“Did you kiss?” Tali would ask, eyes twinkling.
“Uh, yeah, of course. Now will you go to bed?”
Tali could see, now, he just told her whatever would get her to sleep the quickest. While she hadn’t understood back then, it couldn’t have been easy to be so suddenly thrust into fatherhood with no warning. But it never mattered to her. He was her Abba, and he was the best dad she could have asked for.
“No, tell me more!” she’d demand. “What did Ima look like?”
He would adjust the frame on her bed stand, gazing wistfully at the picture within.
“She looked like an angel, just like you.”
Only a few things stayed the same with every retelling, as far as she could figure: Her mother and father together in Paris, a quaint cafe not far from the tourist sites, and a Vespa scooter that they rode around the city together.
That all may have suited her just fine as a bedtime story when she was little, but Tali was almost eleven years old, now. She could tell she wasn't being told the full truth, and she had a feeling some of the details he would recite were entirely fabricated. She'd done the math, compared the story with what she knew of their lives before she was born—what others who knew them then had told her. Oh yeah, she had sources.
It just didn’t match up.
Time to test out those detective skills to get to the bottom of it. Surely those were genetic?
There was a box in her parents’ closet. It had been there as long as they’d lived here, shipped over from the U.S. when they first moved. Mostly, she figured it held boring stuff like paperwork and whatever else had been in her father’s desk at NCIS before he quit. But maybe there was more. Maybe it contained all the answers to every question she’d ever wondered about her parents.
Or maybe not.
Kneeling on the floor of the closet, she surveyed the contents of the plain cardboard box. It was a mess of papers. Considering the journey it had taken across an ocean and later from their old apartment to their new one, she wasn’t surprised. There were a few other items mixed in, a colorful stapler with a cartoon mouse on it, a few dusty looking service awards…
And an envelope. Now that looked promising.
Reaching in, she pulled it out, growing more and more certain that what she held was a stack of photographs. Photographs of what, she could only guess. Had she found clues that might explain what her parents had been doing in Paris years before they would ever move here? If not, what other pictures might her father have kept in his desk at work?
She held her breath as she opened it, carefully plucking at the corner of one of the colorful prints as she pulled it from the stack.
“What do you think you are doing?”
Tali jumped, only narrowly avoiding throwing the pictures across the room in reflex.
“Ima!” she squeaked, wondering if it was too late to hide them behind her back. The box wasn’t off-limits, per se, but it did have a sort of mystical quality that made digging around in it feel like a breach of some code. It was from a time long past—a time her parents didn’t talk about much, at least when she was around.
But there her mother stood in the doorway to her room, arms crossed over her chest as she fixed a suspicious glare in her direction.
“I was just—”
Her words trailed off as her mother’s expression quickly shifted from suspicion to curiosity. “What do you have there?” she asked, her folded arms falling to her sides as she made her way across the room, glancing down at the box splayed open in the closet.
Tali held out the envelope. Well, this had been a mission failure, she thought—at least the stealthy, ninja-like aspect of it. It remained to be seen if she had in fact found what she was looking for.
“Just some pictures, I think,” she mumbled, handing them over reluctantly.
Her ima slipped them out of the envelope and flipped through them, the corners of her mouth quirking up in a wistful smile.
“Honey, I’m home!” a voice singsonged from the entry hall, echoey and distant.
Her dad.
He’d started saying that when he got home from work as a joke, but now he did it unironically. It got old pretty quick, but she did find it endearing, in a way.
“Hey, where is everybody?” he asked, his voice getting louder and clearer with proximity. Before long, he was peeking his head around the doorway. “Uh oh, am I in trouble?” he asked, taking note of the box at their feet. “I swear I threw out those old magazines before we moved.”
Tali briefly wondered what magazines he could possibly be talking about, and why he would have a physical copy of a magazine in the first place, but she was much more interested in the photos her mom was holding.
“Look what our daughter found,” her ima said, waving the glossy prints in her father’s direction.
“Not the… in California…”
Her ima laughed. “No. Not those ones.”
Her father looked somewhat relieved. “Ah, then it must be the ones from my brief stint as a travel photographer,” he mused aloud, setting his briefcase aside and approaching their huddle by the closet. He took one look at the photos in her hand and grinned. “I still think that’s my favorite picture, by the way,” he said, nodding down at the one she held separate from the others, then dipping down to press a quick kiss to her lips.
“I didn’t actually get to see them,” Tali pouted, crossing her arms with a huff. “Ima took them away before I could see what they were.”
Her mother shared a look with her father, communicating in that infuriatingly wordless way they always did. What were they smirking at?
“Why don’t we go sit down on the couch in the living room and we can look through them together, my love,” Ima said at last, flicking off the light in the closet.
Tali supposed that was agreeable. Whatever she had found, she could at least now be certain they were photos from her parents’ past. She followed them out to the sofa, taking a seat between them on the cushions.
“You know what these are?” her mother asked, finally granting her a peek at what she had unearthed from the box.
It took all her self control not to whoop in excitement when she spotted familiar streets and buildings in just the first few photos.
Jackpot.
“Dad told me,” she said, smiling as she came across one of Ima looking through postcards at a shop. That must be her father’s favorite. “You guys came to Paris.”
Her mother nodded. “We were sent here for work, that’s right.”
Wait, go back a second.
“For work?” Tali asked, her forehead crinkling in confusion. “Dad never told me that.”
“He—” Ima’s head slowly turned in her father’s direction, fixing him with a meaningful glare. “What did he tell you?” she asked, her tone light and inquisitive, but Tali could sense the undercurrent of tension her comment had sparked. Dad was in troubleee.
She glanced at him quickly before answering. “Well… It all sounded very… romantic,” she spoke. To her left, her father looked like he was trying to disappear into the cushions, an awkward grin pulling at his lips.
Oh, Abba, surely you knew this would one day come back to bite you?
“Tony!” Ima shouted predictably, smacking him in the arm. “Why did you lie to Tali?”
“I didn’t lie to her,” he asserted, chuckling nervously.
“You told me that you kissed her on the Eiffel Tower!” Tali said, adding fuel to the flame. Ima's jaw dropped, and she shot him a look. It was funny to watch her dad squirm. Only Ima could make him do that.
He held his hands up in surrender. “Okay, I may have embellished a little,” he acknowledged.
Her mother grabbed the nearest throw pillow off the couch and used it to wallop him in the face, all the while concealing a smile. A woosh of air from the attack blew Tali’s hair back, and she giggled uncontrollably, falling back into the cushions.
“Tony, you have never kissed me on the Eiffel Tower,” she countered irritably.
“I haven’t? Well, we should go fix that,” he said, pretending to get to his feet to leave.
Tali rolled her eyes. “Daaaad.”
He sat back down. “Alright, another time,” he acquiesced. “To be fair, what happened in Paris has always been a bit of a secret between your mom and I. I distinctly remember you lying to Nora on that plane, sweetcheeks.”
“And you lied to McGee,” her mom fired back without missing a beat.
“I knew it,” Tali whispered. Okay, so she knew a little more than she was letting on. Uncle Tim will be delighted that she got a confession out of them.
“I’ll admit it,” Dad started, getting serious once more. “The bedtime story version wasn’t quite the truth.”
Well yeah, that was obvious.
“The truth is, we were on assignment for NCIS,” he continued. “Not very romantic, huh? I guess the way I told it is how I wish it had happened. How it should have happened, if I hadn’t been such a coward.”
This brought a fond, slightly sad smile to her mother’s face, and Tali could feel an arm drape over the back of the couch behind her.
“I wouldn’t say it was entirely unromantic,” Ima said, her fingers playing with the short hair at the back of her dad’s head. “She is old enough to hear this story, yes?” she said, her eyes imploring him to agree with her.
“Most of it,” he answered, breathing out a laugh. “I think she can live without the knitting needle incident until she’s a little older.”
“Agreed.”
Tali crossed her legs on the couch, looking back and forth between her parents. She waited with bated breath for the story to begin, but they sure were taking their sweet time.
Sometimes this happened. They'd just go silent and stare at each other with dopey smiles on their faces until someone or something snapped them out of it. It was annoying.
“Hello?” she said, hopefully reminding them of her presence. “You were saying?”
Her dad was the first to break eye contact, reaching out for the stack of photos and flipping through them.
“Right,” he started. “Do you want to start, or should I, sweetcheeks?”
“You go,” Ima said with a nod. “I want to see if you are capable of remembering this correctly.”
Dad opened his mouth as if to argue, but Tali, with the gift of foresight, distracted him with a question before he could start.
“So, what was the assignment?” she asked, blinking up at him imploringly.
“Protection detail,” he answered, shifting his attention back to her. “A witness who needed safe passage back to the U.S. for a trial. Nora was her name.”
“So you just went there to pick her up and that was it?” Tali asked, desperately hoping that wasn't the case. How boring would that be? No, she knew they had fond memories of the trip. There had to be more than that.
“Pretty much,” her dad answered. “But we flew in the day before, so we got to explore a little bit.”
“Tell me!”
Her mother chuckled, shaking her head at Tali's eagerness.
“Your father wouldn't stop making movie references the entire time we were in the city,” she said. “I think as soon as we stepped foot in the airport, he thought we were on some kind of grand adventure. I had to remind him we were there on business, and that we needed to check into the hotel before doing anything else.”
“You should have seen McGee's face when the Director picked us to go,” her dad said with a laugh. “Oh, it was priceless.”
“What happened next?” Tali implored.
Her father crossed his arms and kicked his feet up on the coffee table in front of the couch. “Well, your mom convinced me that we needed to go drop our stuff off at the hotel first, so we caught a taxi. Secretly, I think she just wanted to freshen up, fix her hair and makeup and all that after being stuck on a plane for so long. She had a crush on me back then, you know.”
His eyes met her ima’s here, one eyebrow twitching upward teasingly.
“Oh, shut up,” Ima said, rolling her eyes.
“It's true!”
“Not a crush, that was earlier. This was something different.”
“Looove?” he singsonged, his grin infectious.
“Nooo,” Ima sang right back, matching his tone. “I do not know. Maybe. I do not think even I knew what it was at the time.”
“Well I was pretty in love with you,” he responded, practically radiating heart eyes in her direction. “Obviously.”
“You were not so obvious. I thought you were just being a goofball,” Ima spoke.
Any easy mistake, Tali thought.
“I was trying to flirt with you, but clearly I didn't succeed,” he corrected. “You know, Tali, your mom refused to go sightseeing with me.”
Tali turned to her mother, surprised. “What? Why?”
“We had a mission, I was trying to keep things professional,” she said in her defense. “It was in the best interest of our witness that we get a good night's rest and stay on task.”
Yeah, but that sounded boring.
Her father, evidently, agreed. “You're no fun,” he said with an exaggerated pout.
“I went to dinner with you, didn't I?” Ima asked.
He begrudgingly nodded. “She did go to dinner with me, I'll give her that.”
“And was the dinner not romantic?”
“Hard to find somewhere to eat that doesn't fit that description in this city,” he countered.
Ziva waved her hand in the air with finality. “There you go.”
Tali couldn’t help but feel that they’d gotten a little off track, but it was still fun to hear about their time together before she was born. She tried to picture them, younger than she’d ever seen them and probably a little wilder, too. She wanted to know more.
“So you went to dinner,” Tali summarized, nudging them to tell the rest of the story. “You didn't go anywhere else?”
Ima jumped in next. “Well, your father… He had rented a scooter—you know about the scooter,” she said, referring to the one in the picture Tali still kept on her nightstand. Tali nodded emphatically. This was one element of the story that had remained consistent throughout every retelling. Her mother continued, “He got us so lost on the way back to the hotel after dinner, that eventually I had to tell him to stop so I could ask someone for directions.”
At this, her father looked highly pleased with himself, his small smile concealing an even wider grin.
“Can I let you in on a little secret, sweetcheeks?” he said.
“Hm?”
“I wasn't lost. I knew exactly where we were the whole time.”
Ima’s jaw dropped open, and Tali thought her dad was lucky that Ima was all out of pillows on her side of the couch that could be used as ammunition.
“Tony! We drove around for at least an hour!” she chastised.
“Exactly! How else was I going to take you to look at the pretty lights around the city, or to all the big tourist sites?”
“I cannot believe you.”
“Come on, you loved it,” he said knowingly, tilting his head at her. “You got to put your arms around me for a whole hour.”
Ima raised an eyebrow and Tali could tell she was determinedly resisting the urge to laugh. “Are you sure that was not your motivation for it, then?”
“Oh, it absolutely was,” he answered easily. “If that was the only time I'd get to feel your arms around me, I was gonna make the most of it.”
Blegh, Tali thought. That was one thing that made her different from most kids in her class. Her parents really really loved each other. And they weren’t afraid to show it.
“I did enjoy it,” Ima admitted. “I liked that cologne you used to wear.”
“Well, that's good,” he said, smiling, “I practically drenched myself in it whenever I knew I'd be working in close quarters with you. I think maybe I hoped it would be like some kind of magic potion that would make you fall madly in love with me.”
“I guess it worked,” her mother teased with a shrug, which her father got a kick out of.
“I guess it did,” he said. “Though I hope you love me for more than just the way I smell. That cologne went out of production years ago.”
Ima’s eyes shone, equal parts charmed and amused. “I do. You know I do.”
His lips pulled back in a smile and he leaned forward, meeting Ima’s lips with his own right in front of Tali. She was practically squished between them, forced to endure their display of affection at close range.
“Would you two like to sit next to each other?” she asked, unimpressed. “I feel like I'm not even here.”
Her parents withdrew, her father suppressing a laugh. “Sorry, where were we?”
“Dinner,” she reminded him.
“Right,” he started. “Well, before dinner, we walked around for a bit, looked at all the little shops. That's when I took this picture of your Ima,” he said, holding out the one of her at the postcard stand. “Pretty good, huh?”
“I still think it would look better in black and white,” Ima spoke, looking at it with a critical eye.
“Maybe we could get a copy made, hang it on the wall,” her father offered, which elicited a chuckle.
“Now, I would not go that far.”
“Did you buy anything?” Tali asked, wondering what someone who didn’t live in the city might want to take home with them as a memento.
“Just some souvenirs,” Dad answered. “And a postcard for McGee. ‘Wish you were here!’”
Ima smiled. “Then we sat and ate dinner.”
“You looked so beautiful that day,” her father mused, gazing fondly at the photograph in hand. “I really do wish I had kissed you. I drove you right by the Eiffel Tower.”
“Which was nowhere near our hotel,” she reminded him.
“Pretty sure we've established that I was being sneaky.”
“What happened when you got back to the hotel?” Tali asked.
Ima looked suspiciously at her. “You are being very nosy today, motek. Why the sudden questions?”
Tali shrugged, keeping her face neutral. “I've just always wondered, that's all.”
Ima narrowed her eyes, not fully accepting that as an answer, but eventually, she continued. “Well, we actually had a nice hotel to stay at, for once. Usually when we traveled, at least in the States, NCIS would book us rooms at the cheapest motels they could find.”
“But not this time?”
She shook her head. “Not this time. They wanted us somewhere close to the embassy, where we would be picking up our witness.”
“Wow.” Their jobs sounded so cool, sometimes. Of course, she knew there was a lot of un-cool stuff they hadn’t told her, but what she did know sounded fun. She still sometimes had a hard time believing her boring old parents were once gun-toting federal agents, chasing down bad guys and saving the day. It seemed even more improbable that her Grampa Gibbs had done the same.
“You're skipping over a very important part of the story, Zee-vah,” her father said smugly, bringing her attention back to the tale. “Tell her what the front desk lady said when we tried to check in!”
Ima rolled her eyes and huffed. “Tony, I can tell you want to say this part, so why don't you just do it?”
He grinned excitedly. “Fine. I will. So we walked in this huge, beautiful lobby, right? And I went up to the desk and said, ‘Excuse me, ma’am. There should be two rooms under the name DiNozzo for us, please.’”
“Two rooms?” Tali asked.
“We were just friends back then, you see,” her abba explained. “Actually, we had been going through a bit of a rough patch. Friends might have been pushing it.”
Ima was quick to correct that. “You were my friend, Tony,” she said, looking at him kind of sadly.
He gave a nod. “Friends, then. But not together. And since we were there for work, it was agency policy for two agents of opposite gender to stay in separate rooms.”
That made sense, Tali supposed.
“But then…” Ima started.
“Hey, you said I could tell this part,” her father whined.
“Alright, then get to the point,” she waved him on.
“But then,” he repeated, “the woman at the desk said there was some misunderstanding with our reservation, and they only had one room for us.”
Misunderstanding? Or mischief on Uncle Tim's part as some form of payback for not getting to go to Paris, Tali wondered. She made a mental note to ask him the next time she talked to him.
“Would you have gotten in trouble?” she asked instead.
“We probably would have gotten a slap on the wrist from H.R., and a slap on the head from Gibbs. But no one ever found out,” her father answered.
From what Tali had heard from Uncle Tim, he knew something about what happened. But the specifics were out of his reach too. That’s where Tali came in.
“God, I was so in love with you,” her abba said, gazing lovingly at her ima. “It was pathetic. I don't know how you could have missed it. That mixup with the rooms was like my wildest dream coming true.”
“Tony…”
“I'm sorry if I drove you crazy that night,” he continued, ignoring her attempt to stop him. “I think I was a little drunk on the wine we'd had at dinner still.”
“You were not drunk. I know, because I let you drive us home. You were just… Tony.”
“Mm. Just me, huh?” he asked, smirking at her with a pleased look on his face.
“I found it endearing. Even if I wasn't quite sure how to handle the situation.”
“She offered to take the couch,” he informed Tali. “I told her that she was being ridiculous, that the ginormous bed was big enough for the two of us to share, but she tried to insist. Eventually, I threatened to take the couch myself, and she came to her senses.”
“If I had given up the couch to you, you would have complained about your back the whole flight home the next day,” Ima pointed out.
“Would not!”
Tali had to agree with her mother, here. “Dad, that does sound like you,” she said.
“Now you're ganging up on me! That's not fair!”
“Your father was the perfect gentleman that night, Tali,” Ima continued. “Believe me, I was surprised too. Not even one joke about our situation.”
Her dad seemed shocked at this information as well. “Really? I didn't make any jokes at all?” he asked.
Ima shook her head. “None that I can remember.”
“Huh,” he said. “I was probably too nervous myself to say anything.”
“Why were you nervous?” Tali asked.
“Because,” he started, draping his arm over the back of the couch and over Ima’s shoulder, “sharing a bed with someone—especially someone you're secretly pining for—is a very intimate thing. You kind of lose your sense of personal space. Whatever mask you put on during the day comes off, whether you want it to or not.”
“You guys wore masks during the day?” Tali questioned. She pictured superhero masks, or maybe the kind you wear when you’re sick.
“Not that kind of mask,” he corrected. “I mean the emotional kind, when you don't want other people to see how you're really feeling, so you pretend to feel something else. I used to do that a lot when I was younger, and not quite as wise as I am today.”
“As did I,” Ima agreed.
Tali’s face screwed up in confusion. Everything seemed so simple. Why did they make it seem so complicated?
“Why didn't you just tell each other the truth?” she asked.
This time, her mother answered. “We did, more than we told others at least. But that was a very difficult time for your father and I. We were just learning how to trust each other again.”
“Didn't you always trust each other? You were partners!”
Dad’s knee bumped companionably against her own. “You have to understand, Tali, our jobs were very difficult. I don't think you’re ready for the full story quite yet, but your mom had just been through something horrible and scary, and part of it was my fault.”
Ima’s face fell, and she shook her head. “Tony. It was not your fault,” she said.
“At least some of the blame was mine,” he insisted.
“No. Tony, do not think that way.”
He gave her a small, placating smile. “Alright, we'll agree to disagree,” he said. “But the point is, Tali, it was a very strange time for the two of us. Being completely honest with each other wasn't something we were particularly good at.”
“But we got through it,” she said, reaching for his hand.
He smiled, eyes watering as he lifted her hand to his lips and pressed a kiss to her fingers. “Yes. Yes we did. We just danced around a lot of things we probably should have discussed much sooner.”
“Like the fact that you loved each other?” Tali offered.
Her dad gave a dry chuckle. “Oh yeah. That was the biggest one of all.”
“We were not ready for that conversation yet, motek,” Ima said, running a hand through Tali’s hair.
“But that didn't stop you from getting all cozy with me that night, did it, sweetheart?”
He waggled his eyebrows at her, teasing her playfully.
“I think that is probably enough for one day,” Ima said, trying her hardest not to smile at his antics. Her cheeks blossomed pink.
“No, let's keep going!” he said, spurring her on. “Look at you blushing, I can't believe you still get embarrassed talking about this!”
“I am not embarrassed, Tony,” she countered.
“You aren't? Could have fooled me. When I brought it up in the morning at that cafe, I thought you were going to strangle me for mentioning it in broad daylight.”
Tali giggled at this back-and-forth that they were so good at. It wasn’t often that her dad managed to get under Ima’s skin in this way, it was usually the other way around.
“I thought there was a mutual agreement never to speak of that night again,” Ima responded, her voice low.
“Well, I never agreed to any such thing.”
Things just got curiouser and curiouser, Tali thought, intrigued. “What? What happened?” she asked eagerly.
“Well, we started out the night happily keeping to our own sides of the bed,” her abba explained. “A nice, sensible space between us.”
“I was asleep, Tony, I cannot be held accountable for–”
“But then your ima, here, decided that I made a much better pillow than the one she was using, so I got a face full of Ziva hair.”
Tali laughed, her mother’s indignant attempts to correct him striking her as utterly hilarious.
“If you were awake, you could have very easily pushed me off you,” Ima argued.
“Now why would I do that?”
“Because, Tony, we were supposed to be keeping a respectable distance!”
“Counterpoint: Your hair smelled really good and, oh yeah, I was super in love with you.”
Ima huffed, having no comeback for such a line. “So you have mentioned.”
“Anyway, it was the best night's sleep I'd ever had,” her father finished. “Ziva?”
“What?”
“Would you agree?” he asked.
Ima blew out a breath, thinking it over. “Well, at the time, I often dealt with nightmares.”
“And?”
“And… You just want me to admit that I woke up in the middle of the night and didn't go back to my side of the bed, don't you?” Ima stared accusingly at Dad.
“Maybe.”
She rolled her eyes. “Alright, yes, I did. I was comfortable, and the dreams weren't as bad as usual for some reason.”
“Hmm, I wonder what that reason was,” Dad said sarcastically, tapping a finger thoughtfully on his chin. But then he looked at Ima again and smiled, his expression melting into one of adoration. “I wish you would have told me all this back then,” he said. “Could have saved both of us a lot of trouble.”
“No point in dwelling on it now,” Ima surmised, and he gently rubbed her shoulder before pulling back.
“When I woke up in the morning, she was still in my arms, conked out and snoring like a freight train,” he continued his tale.
“What a lovely sight that must have been,” Ima said sarcastically.
“It was!” he said. “I could have laid like that forever. I guess, now I get to.”
More mushy stuff. Great. “Okay, I get it. You love each other. Now is that it?” Tali asked.
Dad shrugged. “Pretty much. The next morning your mom got all awkward and tried to pretend we hadn't just spent the night cuddling in the most romantic city in the world,” he narrated.
“Meanwhile, your father woke up in an unnervingly pleasant mood and hurried off to go sightseeing, while I headed to a cafe for a late breakfast.”
Tali turned to her father. “What did you go see, dad?”
“Well, the embassy isn't too far from here, actually,” he spoke, glancing toward the window in their living room. “I drove around for a bit, past the Louvre, saw everything in that area. Took lots of pictures.”
“And then we met up at the cafe for a little while before it was time to pick up our witness,” Ima finished.
“That's when we got that picture taken. The one in your room.”
Her dad told her, sometimes, about the moment he realized she knew who he was. How that picture had been her connection to him before they met, and how it later connected her to her mother while she was away.
Their family’s story was a strange one. For a long time, she hadn't known the particulars, of course. But she was the only kid at school whose mom was off who-knows-where hiding from who-knows-who and doing who-knows-what. Not that she was allowed to talk about any of that. She only picked up bits and pieces when her dad would talk to Pop Pop after she'd gone to bed, and her memories of those conversations were pretty fuzzy.
She also never fully grasped the significance of the lack of pictures from when she was a baby, or the fact that she had been born in Israel, while her father lived in the U.S.
But now, she had begun to piece some things together, and it made her a little sad. She wondered if she would ever fully understand what had happened. Why, until she was six, they had never been a family together, all in one place.
The fact that her parents had been so close, and yet so far from their happily ending back then… Almost fifteen years ago, now…
“Is that why you wanted us to live in Paris?” she asked her father.
“I guess so,” he said, reaching for Ima's hand. “Part of me, I think, hoped we'd find her here right away. Like maybe that picture frame in your bag had been a message telling me where to meet her. But also, yes. We had nothing but good memories here. Seemed a good place for a fresh start.”
“The same cannot be said for the airplane we took back to America with our witness,” Ima joked, lightening the mood.
“Oh, no. Definitely not,” Dad agreed. “If I wanted to experience mortal peril on an airplane, I would just watch Liam Neeson in ‘Non-Stop.’ But then, that movie hadn't come out yet. Come to think of it, I feel like we should have been contacted for our expertise by the studio that made that movie. Do you think they could have given us writing credits?”
Tali sensed that the rest of the story would have to wait for another day. Most of their case stories were like that. Just a couple more years, then maybe she’d be old enough.
“Thanks for telling me,” she said, interrupting her father’s rambling about movies.
“Of course, neshama sheli,” Ima said, placing her hand on her knee.
“Anytime, kiddo. This was fun.”
“And?” Ima prompted.
“And,” he continued, “I’m sorry for making up stories when you were little. I should have told you the truth.”
Tali looked at him, smiling when his eyes met hers. She leaned into his side, and he lifted his arm, welcoming her in for an embrace.
“It’s okay,” she assured him. “I liked your stories. They were like fairy tales.”
He sighed. “If only it had really been like a fairy tale.”
“It is, though!” Tali said seriously, leaning back to face him. “You got your happily ever after, right?”
Dad’s eyes lifted to meet Ima’s, and they shared a smile, another one of their silent conversations.
“You are right, Tali,” Ima said, eyes shining with some deep emotion. “Maybe we had a fairy tale ending after all.”
-.-.-
Tali waited until her parents had gone to bed before sneaking out of her own room and into the kitchen. She found the phone out on the countertop where her father had left it, and quickly navigated to the right name in his contact list.
She pressed the call button and the phone rang. While she waited, she tried to mentally count backwards and estimate the time it was in D.C., but that was entirely too much math for this time of night.
Eventually, the line connected with a click.
“McGee,” the voice on the other end spoke.
“Uncle Tim!” Tali said in a whisper.
“Hey, Trouble!” he greeted jovially. “Whatcha got for me?”
Tali’s chest bubbled with giddiness, and she bit her lip to keep from shouting the answer.
“Uncle Tim, they told me everything!”
-.-.-

❤️ For detailed instructions on how to post to a collection on AO3, check out this post.
❤️ There is no word limit or format restriction to this challenge.
❤️ Explicit work is accepted in this month's challenge. Because this is a canonical event, AU is not accepted. Episode tagged, fix-its, and canon divergence are encouraged.
❤️ Works will be revealed on the last Friday of the month. A new subcollection will be created on AO3 for you to post to, and all works will be shown simultaneously on the last Friday! Any doubts about how to publish them this way, just ask us! You can find the parent collection here.
