Bucktommy and Sea of Light? This sounds so interesting! <3
Here’s the funny thing, there are actually two fics with this title. I suppose whichever one I manage to complete first will be the one that gets the title in the end. I’ll give you both.
The title is for a OneRepublic song, and the line goes “I'm in a sea of lights and all that I can see is you.”
1. Started right after we got the teaser for Buck and Tommy’s awkward date (before it aired, so nobody knew it was about Buck pretending they were just hanging out as friends). The general idea was that Buck was just awkward during the date, and he thought Tommy wouldn’t want to see him again after that, so he texts Tommy. That draft has 1.6k words at this point. Here’s a snippet:
Thirty-nine minutes.
Buck taps the screen of his phone and unlocks it to re-read for what may well be the millionth time his own words, in which he’s wholeheartedly apologising to Tommy, providing the most pathetic of excuses, because performance anxiety has never been something he truly needed to concern himself with, and promising to deliver next time, if it ever happens. He’s almost begging Tommy to give him another chance, preferably not out in public, because he’d hate to provide Tommy with yet another miserable experience.
If only he could have Tommy alone in the safety of his loft again, maybe he could make a better impression.
The phone dings.
Buck almost jumps in his spot. His heartbeat speeds up so much it becomes uncomfortable, but he wastes no time on finding his breath before checking the notification.
2. This idea is what I feel fits the title more. Tommy and Buck spend the two days off they have together, in Buck’s loft, during a heatwave, with a broken AC unit, so it’s all shorts and open (if any) shirts.
The idea was to have it from Buck’s POV as he looks at Tommy in the golden light of the setting sun coming in through the windows, a lot of descriptions of Tommy being absolutely gorgeous before smut ensues. I swear I had the file somewhere, but I cannot find it!
Thank you for the ask 🩷

You're killing me with chemistry - Chapter 1
Buck knows he's bi. He knows what he wants. And what he wants, right now, is Tommy. Maybe his hand in marriage, because he's getting desperate. Because, despite all of his attempts, and all of the positive responses from Tommy, for some reason, Tommy just ... doesn't act on anything.
Tommy knows Evan is straight. He asked both Howie and Hen about it, and he trusts their word on it. It doesn't stop Evan from pulling him in, and making him fall head over heels for him anyway. Tommy knows better than to fall for a straight guy, he does, but ... he can't change it.
Everything would be easier if they just talked to each other, but where's the fun in that?
A little story based off on this post by @disaster-j and I hope I did your idea justice.
This story will have three chapters, the rest of which will be coming out in the following days. Rating and tags will change as we go.
Word count: 13,556 - canon divergence, bi disaster!buck & oblivious!tommy, sexual tension
Excerpt:
Buck was in hell.
You’d think that finding out he was bisexual would make things- easier? Clearer? The world was his oyster or whatever.
Okay, fine, the clarity of finally realizing what he was feeling for men was nice, freeing. Looking back on things, so many of them suddenly made sense – namely following Connor to LA from Peru. And a couple of other things. It brought him perspective.
He’d tried for a couple of relationships with men, but they fizzled out like his thing with Natalia had just before. Finding the right partner who matched him wasn’t easier with men, it seemed.
Whoever said that as a bisexual man, he’d have twice as many options – Eddie – was a liar and also naïve. It only got worse.
Until the night Bobby and Athena decided to re-enact Titanic in the most dramatic way possible. Buck did feel kind of bad about connecting so much joy with that night, but hey, nobody could blame him!
Not when Chimney introduced him to the most beautiful man he’d ever seen in his life.
Buck saw him, and he thought that he couldn’t be real. Men like Tommy Kinard didn’t exist. He was tall, broad, had a kind smile and pretty eyes, looked like the textbook definition of handsome, had large and strong hands – Buck almost lost his breath when he shook his hand – he was a firefighter and a pilot, and he was also batshit insane, it seemed. At least enough to fly them into a hurricane.
Buck heard his voice, and he knew immediately that he needed to hear him say his name. He felt like his insides melted when Tommy said, “Nice to meet you, Evan,” with a soft smile, his words so genuine that Buck felt something rearrange inside of him.
What the hell was Buck supposed to do? Not fall ass over teakettle for the guy? Okay, they barely talked that night, and the words they exchanged were tense. But Buck got to watch Tommy work, got to watch him confidently stride across the hangar and bullshit his way into getting them off the ground, got to watch him guide them through a storm with steady hands.
And then he got to watch him and hear him make fake mouth static at the fire chief, and Buck was gone. Men like Tommy weren’t real, but here he was, right in front of Buck.

The Only Exception
Had to write a little fic from Tommy's perspective based off of The Only Exception by Paramore. Read below or on ao3!
For so long, love felt to Tommy like wearing a turtleneck on a summer day. It was uncomfortable. Itchy, sweaty, and no matter how much you tugged it away from your neck it came right back to choke you again.
That was the type of love he'd grown up with. A love that was never truly love at all.
A father who failed more often than he succeeded. Who cheated and lied and spewed words of hatred. Who treated him like gum on the bottom of his shoe. Who treated his mom even worse.
And his mom would get sick of it. She'd say she was done. She'd cry and yell and pack her bags- only her bags- and she'd look Tommy straight in the eyes and tell him, “This is what love looks like, Thomas, this is all it is.”
During those times, Tommy's dad would beg and plead for her to stay. He couldn't make it through life without her, he didn't know what he'd do if she left, he was nothing without her, she was nothing without him.
He'd wipe away her tears and take her suitcase from her hand and lead her back to the bedroom. Tommy would make himself a bowl of cereal, sit on the couch, watch cartoons until after the sun had set, then he'd tuck himself into bed.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
When he got older and left for the army, there wasn't really time for love. There was time for quickies in secret hookup spots around base. There was time to learn more about himself than he dared speak about. There was time to get close to a guy who laughed in his face when Tommy told him that maybe one day they could leave the military and get a place together.
You're living in a fantasy world, Kinard, so here's some reality. Guys like us weren't made to be loved.
He was young and naive then.
He learned to grow up quickly.
He tried love after he first became a firefighter. But love was closing his eyes and imagining someone else when he was intimate with her. It was taking extra shifts at work so he had an excuse not to invite her over. It was telling her he had to sleep alone because he had nightmares.
It was unfair to them both.
It wasn't love.
Because love doesn't exist.
Tommy learned to be comfortable with being alone. Learned to keep himself busy with hobbies so he was content when he walked into his empty house.
Learned to enjoy another man's touch for a night, and be gone long before the sun rose.
Learned to fake girlfriends at work, be the guy who has someone new every other month. Let everyone call him a player because that was better than any other word they'd use if they knew the truth.
Love doesn't exist. Not for someone like me.
Even at Harbor, once he decided to be honest with himself and the people around him, love felt like an illusion.
There was the guy who was still deep in the closet, who didn't even want to look at Tommy when they were in bed together.
Then the guy who paraded him around and let everyone, including his ex-boyfriend, know he was with a firefighter.
The guy who in the end said he only asked him out because Tommy saved his life and he felt he owed him that much.
Just stop trying.
That's what he did. He stayed in his bubble of work, hobbies, home.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Every day the same.
Then he got a phone call from someone he hadn't heard from in a while.
And he literally owed his life to this guy, so of course he said yes to the most insane plan he'd ever heard.
Then suddenly he was meeting two new guys that had joined the 118 after he left. He was reconnecting with Hen, he was getting texts from Howie, he was gaining a new friend in Eddie, and he had plans to teach this Evan how to fly.
Evan with a beautiful smile and a hot body and the most adorable personality he'd ever seen.
He needed to keep his distance, because he didn't know Evan very well and he could be reading this all wrong.
Which, apparently he was, because Evan seemed to hate him and the last thing he needed was for this overall sweet guy with beautiful eyes to hate him.
He needed to do something to fix it. Needed to make things right so he didn't lose this friendship that hadn't even had a chance to begin.
So, he went to Evan's place and...
Oh.
It's funny how a person can really change your perspective of things.
Maybe the only time love doesn't last is when it's not meant to. Maybe there are exceptions. And maybe it'll find you when you least expect it. Maybe it'll find you in the loft of an apartment you've never been in before. Or during a messy first date that could've ended better on both ends.
Maybe love is an attempt to get your coffee order right when you've never even discussed whether or not you like coffee.
Or it's an insane ask to be a date to a wedding, because even though you barely know each other his family wants to meet you. He's talked about you to them.
It's found in a hug at a bachelor party, or in a “be safe” when you're going into work.
Maybe love is a kiss at the entrance of a hospital. So unexpected you can't help but vocalize your surprise.
Maybe it's not caring if you have evidence of a make-out session all over your face because you like this guy and you don't care who knows it.
Or maybe it's being there when someone from your past pops up and you can't quite vocalize how you feel.
Love is a late night dinner after a bad day where you can express your worries and discuss parental trauma. Love is knowing when to turn the conversation on its heels and flirt because life's been too serious lately and sometimes you need a reason to smile.
Love is found in the person you lean on when you're upset or angry. It's who you go to with your tears, whether they're from sadness or rage.
It's learning each other's flaws and not running away. It's learning to love their mess, all of their imperfections, and sticking it out because they're worth it.
It's a heated argument that no one wins and you forget what started it in the first place. It's in not giving a reason to pack your bags and threaten to leave, but in hashing it out because the person is worth staying for.
It's in honesty and thinking before you speak and being faithful.
It's in a hospital room after an injury that almost takes your life. It's when you open your eyes and your person is seated beside you looking worse than you do because they haven't slept in three days.
Love is cooking dinner together, and laughing so hard that soda shoots out your nose because only one of you knows how to follow a recipe.
Love is running to you when you show up at their station unannounced because they forgot their lunch in your fridge.
It's a kiss in the middle of a station that once held your biggest insecurities hostage. It's a hand on your back leading you up the stairs because everyone will want to see you.
Love is a gasp and a plead for more. A whisper that it's never felt like this before. It's strong arms gripping your back, wanting to feel you, wanting to kiss you, wanting to see you.
Love is holding you close until you fall asleep, until the sun rises, and even long after that.
Love is breaking through every rule you've made for yourself without even realizing it. Breaking down each and every barrier you've put in your own way and doing it with such grace and care that it brings tears to your eyes if you think about it too much.
Love is the person lying beside you right now, snoring so loudly you can't sleep, but you don't even care. You watch them, place a hand over their chest to feel their heartbeat because sometimes you wonder if they truly exist.
Love is curling into your touch, smacking their lips as they tug you closer and resume snoring right in your ear.
Love is here.
Love is present.
Love is real.
Love is Evan.

"Hey, Tommy, have you seen Sky's teddy?" Buck screams from the bedroom. He looks in Sky's diaper beg, trying to find her favorite toy, before sighting if fruitation when he again finds nothing.
Not loving the absolutely silence in living room, where he expected newborn and his husband to play, he goes there to be meet with absolutely the best and sweetest view ever. Their daughter sleeps on her papa's broad chest like the most beautiful little star, snuffle in tempo with her napping papa. One Tommy's hands lay protectively over her back for support, and Buck knows if Sky would make even one move Tommy will stir to see how's she. It makes him fall for his husband only more.
Tommy always was incredible partner to him, never letting Buck believe his too much, but not taking Buck's shit when needed. He's always kind, supportive, direct, honest and loyal. And he loves Buck so much, Buck swears he can feel this love all over him even when Tommy is not around. But dad Tommy? This man is the best Tommy Buck's ever seen. He loves their daughter so much and unconditional, Buck can't keep his tears when he thinks how loved Sky is just for existence. Everything he never had he knows Sky will always have. Parents that will always show up, no matter what, who will hug her whenever she needs to, who will respect her and give her opportunity to search the world. Parents who will never hit their baby. Buck shivers thinking about how hard it was for Tommy and how adamant he was in therapy before Sky was born to make sure he's nothing like his father, even when Buck always knew it. Tommy was better man that Kinard Sn.
Buck know they both will do their best to love her anyway. It's actually easy as breathing.
Sky stirs a little, but doesn't wake up and Tommy continue to snore, when Buck notices how her onesie and Tommy's shirt match. He can't stop himself from taking his phone out and make a picture of his whole world.
When his gallery bigger for around 10 more pictures, Buck sits on the couch near Tommy's legs, just watching them, more than happy to spend such a silent moment just near his family.
He loses how much time passed before, Tommy starts to open his eyes, smiling at him
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," Tommy whispers, brushing Sky's hair.
"Already did! More than one actually."
Tommy chuckles, "of course you did."
Buck moves to sit on the floor near Tommy, kissing him.
"Can you blame me when my two favorite people were so sweet together?"
"No, I'd be angry and disappointed if you haven't liked me with our daughter on my chest."
"Use our baby for seducing, Buckley-Kinard?"
"Is that working, Buckley-Kinard?"
Buck smirks.
"Wait till she sleeps tonight and you'll see."
Tommy smirks too and it's when their baby wakes up, flapping her eyelashes, before smiling her toothless smile. Buck and Tommy smile at her and each other.
"Look, who woke up right for dinner," Buck says kissing her cheek.
Sky smiles more and moves closer to him.
"Do you want to go to daddy?"
Sky moves even closer and Buck takes her.
Tommy gets up too, stretching.
"Do tummy time with her while I make her dinner?"
Buck nods and Tommy kisses him, before going to kitchen.
"You and I are the luckiest to have this guy crazy about us," Buck coos to Sky, holding her in front of her face and when she smiles bright kisses he cheek. "Yeah, you definitely know how much papa can spoil you when you smile at him like that."

Paradise 🫶🏾
Thanks for the prompt! 🩶
**********
Buck breathed out a contented sigh as he leant against the balcony edge, wearing just his boxers having only just gotten out of bed. The view was breathtaking. The ocean a mixture of blues and greens he’d never seen before outside of a postcard. The white beach below, the rainbow of flowers and plants everywhere, the sounds of birds that Buck probably hadn’t even heard of, and the other islands side by side in the distance.. he was in paradise.
They were in paradise.
Although, he’d have thought the same if they were spending 10 days in a crappy L.A motel. But Tommy had promised him a real paradise and boy did he deliver.
It was amazing to Buck just how much his life had changed in a little under 2 years.
Though physically healed from the lightning strike, he was still coming to terms with his mortality and what his life actually meant. He once confessed to Eddie that he’d felt like he had to be the same Buck for everyone else’s sake.
He persevered and carried on living his normal life, hoping that someday something would click and he’d finally understand why he’d survived something most people wouldn’t.
And then he met Tommy.
Beautiful, kind, patient, loving, strong and wonderful, Tommy. A man who with just a look made Buck feel safe; that he could leave all his cares in the world at Tommy’s feet and he’d help carry the load without question or complaint. A man who never once made Buck feel like a burden or an annoyance to be dealt with or placated. A man who, since the moment they met, had make Buck feel more loved, accepted, cherished and alive more than anybody ever had.
He closed his eyes and relished in the warm salty breeze that drew goosebumps along his bare skin. A warm hand snaked around his waist from behind and a stubbled chin grazed the back of his neck; two soft wet lips pressing into his skin.
“Good morning, babe.” Buck smiled, leaning back into Tommy’s embrace.
“Morning, sweetheart.”
“You sleep okay?”
“Mm-hmm.” Tommy mumbled into Bucks cheek before kissing it.
“Do you think maybe we could actually leave our hotel room today?” Buck asked in an amused tone.
“Do we have to?” Tommy complained squeezing Buck tighter. Buck laughed in response.
“I mean it’s going to be pretty awkward when we get back home and everyone asks us what we did on our honeymoon and the only answer is “sex”, babe.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing.” Tommy gently palmed Bucks face turning it towards him to press a gentle few kisses onto his lips. Buck smiled into it and turned his body to face his husband.
“Oh it’s not a bad thing, obviously.” He kissed back. “But I would like to see some of the island before we go home.”
Tommy pulled back, his eyes travelling over Bucks face. “You’re lucky I can’t say no to you, Buckley.” He teased.
“Uh, It’s Kinard, now, thank you very much.” Buck playfully chastised proudly.
“Yeah, it is.” Tommy smiled wide, equal in pride. He kissed him again then let go to walk back in the room. “Come on, Mr Kinard—let’s shower and go explore the island.”
Buck watched his still naked husband walked towards the bathroom and, just as it did when he’d first seen him naked after their third date, Buck’s stomach filled with heat at the sight.
“Maybe later.” He said walking towards Tommy and attacking him with his whole body weight.

2024 Fic Roundup
tagged by @devirnis 🫶
this year, i wrote 18 works with 72,305 words! thank you everyone who read my stuff 🥹
May
to be free | bucktommy, M, 379
Buck is alive. Four weeks ago, Tommy kissed him. Four weeks ago, he felt a weight lift off his shoulders that he hadn't even realized he was carrying. Four weeks ago, he said yes to going on a date with a man. Four weeks ago, he never could've imagined he'd be feeling this right now. Buck is alive.
The Ally and the Beast | bucktommy, E, 2.4k
Tommy knows he's late, and he feels awful about it. He so badly wanted to make it to the wedding, but the fire was an absolute inferno that would not go out. When it was finally extinguished and Tommy was given the okay to head out, he jumped in the rig with the rest of his crew, immediately asking them to drop him at the hospital. And of course they had given him grief for it, but he didn't care as long as they got him where he needed to be. When he walks through the ER bay doors and sees Evan, he's instantly apologetic. “Sorry I'm late, that fire was a beast.” But then Evan hits him with a, “So are you,” and grabs him and kisses him, and he wouldn't be able to stop the moan that leaves his mouth if he tried.
June
maybe this time (i'll win) | bucktommy AU, E, 9.6k
Evan has been quiet today. Most evenings, he’s bouncing around the kitchen, talking to everyone or sharing some sort of fact or just generally keeping everyone entertained. He’s so young and beautiful and bright and vibrant. But tonight he’s quiet, and Tommy can’t stand it. Evan came in tonight looking haggard, as if he hadn’t slept since he left the night before. There’s also a bruise on his wrist peeking out from the cuff of his left sleeve. Or Tommy notices something is off with one of his kitchen staff. He asks questions and gets more than he bargained - or dared to hope - for.
July
These Summer Days with You Feel Like My Future | bucktommy, G, 939
Tommy and Buck take Jee-Yun to the carnival for a day of fun.
September
looking out the window (the trees are getting closer, it seems) | bucktommy, T+, 3.3k
Tommy's chopper goes down, and he knows this is the end.
October
whatever the weather (just wanna be with you) | bucktommy, E, 3.2k
All the planning in the world can't compete with unexpected changes in the weather. But sometimes that's a good thing.
set, match, run | bucktommybobby, E, 3.7k
“Hey, sweetheart,” Evan answered on the third ring. Tommy groaned, the sound of his boyfriend’s voice ramping up his desire even more, his hips nearly frantic. The image of Evan’s plush, pink lips popped into his mind unbidden. Evan always looked so pretty on his knees, lips stretched wide around Tommy’s girth, tears streaming down his cheeks, chin covered in a mess of saliva and precum. “Tommy?” Evan asked, his voice laced with concern. “Are you okay?” He almost laughed. He was so far from okay, his cock unbearably hard and leaking all over the sweatpants he had hastily thrown on before leaving Harbor. “Tommy,” Evan said again, fear beginning to creep in. The only word Tommy could grunt out between frenzied thrusts was, “Help.”
patience is a virtue, evan | bucktommy, E, 4.1k
Buck and Tommy start their scene for the night before leaving the house for Eddie's birthday party at a public bar. Buck has to make it through the evening in order to get his reward at the end of the night, and Tommy makes it worth the wait.
November
wait, how do you spell epiphany? | louliver rpf, T+, 1.3k
What happened behind the scenes of 9-1-1 between Oliver and Lou? or The terrible rpf idea that came to life.
it's never just coffee | bucktommy, G, 739
Tommy Kinard, two weeks post-break up, is not doing well.
if it all falls down | bucktommy, T+, 3k
"I trusted you." Tommy would like to be literally anywhere else right now. He should be up in the sky, not trapped with an angry Evan who has been yelling at him for the last ten minutes. This is why he avoids being on ground crew as much as possible. But now they're stuck in a building that's ready to go down at the slightest movement, and Evan is really fucking angry. "Buck, please. We don't need to do this right now," Tommy tries. "Sure, okay," Evan snorts. "Because you're so good at not running away from me when things get serious."
say my name (we're still the same) | bucktommy, E, 1.1k
Buck was trying to get over Tommy, and he was doing well. But one month and two days after Tommy walked away, everything went to shit.
and homemade cranberry sauce | bucktommy, T+, 1.4k
The timer beeped, and he got up to take the small chicken out of the oven. The little baking dish of sweet potatoes needed a few more minutes, so he shut the door again. He also had fresh rolls, broccoli, and his smallest kettle full of stuffing. It wasn't a huge Thanksgiving dinner like he'd been thinking of, but it would feed him for the next 3 days. He had requested the holiday off months ago so he could spend it with Evan. Foolish.
December
devastate me, baby (it's gonna hurt anyway) | bucktommy, T+, 4k
"So, let me get this straight," Eddie started, his voice tense. "You broke things off with Buck because you - and I quote - 'were so in love with him,' and the only way it would end otherwise is with him breaking your heart. Is that what I'm hearing right now?" "Eddie -" Tommy sighed. He couldn't have this conversation yet. He was still a raw, exposed nerve. Or The one where Eddie gets to call Tommy an idiot (affectionately).
Obsidian & Oxygen (WIP) | bucktommy, E, 22k
Evan Buckley is no stranger to the kink scene. He's an experienced submissive who's been going to Obsidian Lounge for years, both with his dommes and just for fun in the open space known as The Cellar. He's been out of the game for a while, but when he comes back, it's to try something new: a man. AKA the Kink Club AU
Mistletoe and Holly | bucktommy, T+, 2.8k
There were many things Tommy hadn't expected when he broke things off with Ev- Buck. The hurt, he'd expected. The week-long pity party, certainly. But he hadn't expected to keep any of his friends that now belonged to Buck's family. He hadn't expected for anyone to check in with him a week and a half after he'd walked away. He hadn't expected to come home from a shift to a basket full of baked goods on his front porch two weeks later. He hadn't expected Howie to call him up and invite him to their Friendsmas party. And he definitely hadn't expected himself to accept.
sit still, look pretty (WIP) | bucktommy, buddie, buddietommy, E, 6k
There's something freeing about having a partner who understands you well. They know you inside and out - in every interpretation of the phrase. They rarely have to ask for clarification of what you want. They see the good and the bad and the fucked up, and they appreciate you more for it. They indulge the parts of you that other partners would shudder at. And Tommy had his fair share of partners shudder in the past. Things he didn't think twice about - a little degradation, some light bondage, impact play - had scared off more than one partner. But Evan was different. He was different than anyone who had come before, and now that they've gotten past their brief breakup, they're stronger than ever. And Evan? He encouraged every kinky whim that crossed Tommy's mind. AKA the Cuck!Tommy fic
ride with me | bucktommy, M, 1.1k
Two months after breaking up with Evan, Tommy gets a promotion at work. Evan congratulates him in an unorthodox way.

😴😴😴😴!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hehe
Ellieeee, I started it! YAY! Thank you so much for the ask and for encouraging me, I'm having so much fun writing this one!
Here are the first 15 sentences for you my darling! I hope you like it!
- 😴
“Tommaso, if you don’t learn anything else from your Nonno, learn this: life never turns out the way you expect it to”
Tommy Kinard remembers hearing his sentence many times throughout his life, from the time he was a little boy until the day his dear grandfather passed away three years ago. He only wished he knew, back then, that Nonno was talking about Tommy’s own life.
He realizes now that Nonno was absolutely right; Tommy’s life definitely didn’t turn out the way he planned it to. He had spent his childhood dreaming about being a firefighter, or a pilot, and of building the perfect family. His plans started to fall apart when he left the Academy to take care of his sickly grandfather, and now, three years after his death, Tommy’s still stuck in the same dead end job at a train station, not making enough money to get out of it.
With no family to speak of and no boyfriend in sight, Tommy doesn’t really have anything to look forward to except being greeted by his mutt cat every day when he gets back to his apartment at the end of the day. Well, except for Firefighter Handsome.
Tommy feels kind of ridiculous for addressing the man like that in his mind, but he has no idea what his real name is. Firefighter Handsome passes by his booth at least four times a week, says ‘Good morning’ in that warm voice, pays for his ticket and goes on his merry way. Usually, if he’s not in too much of a hurry, the ‘good morning’ and subsequent ticket paying are accompanied by the most beautiful smile in the world, a smile that makes Tommy feel seen. In case it’s not clear, Tommy is completely head over heels in love with him.
That’s the other thing Tommy learned from his Nonno: to be a romantic at heart. When he was a child, he remembered Nonno and Nonna driving him over to the church where they had gotten married and telling him about the ceremony and how they had said their vows twice, once in English and once in Italian. He remembers the two of them slow dancing in the living room to old Italian songs, their cheeks glued to each other; he remembers Nonno getting home with a flower in his hand, saying ‘A rosa for my Rosa’, and Nonna giggling about it with a ‘Oh, Angelito, you shouldn’t have’, but she’d cherish that flower as something precious. And Tommy remembers thinking how much he wanted something like that for himself.
----
I hope you like it my love!!

Buck is 20 weeks pregnant:
“Ok, ok, you little monster, we will go to Micelli’s to get spumoni,” Buck says to his still pretty small belly, compared to the one Maddie had on the same stage. Doctors said it’s because of his height. He loves his bump a lot. It’s so beautiful and it shows enough right now that people don’t look at him strange, when he speaks to the baby, as it was in the first trimester.
He will get to Micelli’s for spumoni and then get home to bake cheesecake for Tommy to see him tomorrow. He doesn’t let his brain imagine how it will go. That's why today he was working with clipboards all over the station, before coming home. Lists kept him busy enough.
He parks and gets inside the restaurant, happy that it’s Thursday night so the palace should not be crowded, but his heart stops when he sees Tommy laughing and holding hands with a pretty man.
Hope leaves him again. His heart aches and cries in pain, but he refuses to let this man break it again. He runs to the jeep and leaves the place. He will find spumoni somewhere else. Not where the man, he doesn’t want in his life because he just so easily replaced Buck with a new toy, has dinner with said toy.
At home, crying in his bath full of water and lavender oil, he texts Lucy about plan change and why. He does not want Thomas Kinard near his baby. If a man wants to be a father, he can knock up this man with too tight jeans and too transparent crop top.
...
“You and I are better off without him anyway, right, love? You and I against the world?”
(nickname ) kicks and Buck can feel it not just inside but outside too. It makes him cry happy tears, “your first kick! Oh, your uncle Eddie would be so angry he missed it,” Buck chuckles, “I love you (first and middle name). So much.”
And for James his cameo 😉:
“One more push, Buck, and they are here,” his midwife, James - a really pretty young man with the most inspiring and sweet smile Buck has ever seen - instructs. Buck does exactly that, pushing with all the last strength he has, when he hears the most beautiful sound. His baby's cry.
