on and off thinking about this group i made a long time ago & how i wanna do more with it. all but one are girls, goes in order left to right: rust, bronze, jade (the boy), cerulean, indigo, and then of course galant is purple.

BUT OF COURSE. bandcamp link because I always try to link to the artist directly whenever possible but it is also on spotify.

several of these tracks sound to me like a train going by or being on a train and hearing the rhythm of the tracks and also the murmur of passenger conversation around you or being in a massive apartment complex with thin walls and hearing all the tiny sounds of living and moving about from dozens and dozens of unknown and known strangers. I fucking love Valentina Magaletti so much. (A Queer Anthology of Drums is also a personal staple, and I love her work with UUUU and Avvitagalli and Tomaga.)

»Im Schilf der Stadt« is a dreamy, floating and yet in places driving mix with ambience and atmosphere from films that can be assigned to the cyberpunk genre. Listening to it automatically draws pictures in your head – kind of like Moebius drawing Blade Runner and 川井 憲次 playing music while transforming into a Ghibli character.

La percussionniste italienne Valentina Magaletti est décidément dans tous les bons coups d’une frange hypnotique et surréaliste de la scène londonienne. On se souvient encore des magnifiques albums de Tomaga et de Vanishing Twin, dont elle était partie prenante en 2021. Elle est ici embarquée dans le projet « rock » du duo Raime, qui évolue habituellement dans des profondeurs dark ambient et industrielles. Le résultat est étonnamment aéré et plaisant, jouant subtilement avec la répétitivité, les dissonances et les tensions.
