Part One Terminator the first 3 films in the Series Terminator Terminator 2Judgement Day and Terminator 3 Rise Against The Machines
Introduction
Hello there and Welcome to a revised edition of a blog that looks at the Terminator film Franchise including the making of the original Terminator film from 1984 and the 2 sequels that followed it Terminator 2 Judgement Day and Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines for ease of reading the blog has been split in two chapters the second chapter deals with the other 3 films in the series Terminator Salvation Terminator Genysis and Terminator Dark fate as well as what links the film to the Toleramce Project
Today the 26th October marks the Terminator 40th Birthday of its original release at the cinema
Tumblr media
Overview
The Terminator is a 1984 American science fiction action film directed by James It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator, a cyborg assassin sent back in time from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), whose unborn son will one day save mankind from extinction by Skynet, a hostile artificial intelligence in a post-apocalyptic future. Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) is a soldier sent back in time to protect Sarah. The screenplay is credited to Cameron and producer Gale Anne Hurd.
Defying low pre-release expectations, The Terminator topped the United States box office for two weeks, eventually grossing $78.3 million against a modest $6.4 million budget. It is credited with launching Cameron's film career and solidifying Schwarzenegger's status as a leading man. The film's success led to a franchise consisting of several sequels, a television series, comic books, novels and video games. In 2008, The Terminator was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.

Casting The Terminator
It's hard to believe, but it's been roughly forty years since James Cameron changed movies forever with the release of The Terminator in 1984. At just 30 years old, this was Cameron's breakthrough, with his only other feature film being the low-budget Piranha II: The Spawning in 1981. His story about a cyborg sent from the future to kill the mother of a future resistance leader against robots who have taken over the Earth set Cameron on a path to becoming one of the most influential filmmakers ever. Before any of that could happen, however, Cameron needed to find the perfect face for his robotic monster. As we all know, the role went to Arnold Schwarzenegger, sending his career into the stratosphere, but before it did, there was talk of another famous name playing the part. Then one conversation with James Cameron changed everything, shaping history into the form we now know it.
Tumblr media
Arnold Schwarzenegger Says O.J. Simpson Was the First Choice
In 1984, James Cameron might not have been famous yet, but Arnold Schwarzenegger was. He was the larger-than-life Austrian bodybuilder who had won seven Mr. Olympias and four Mr. Universe bodybuilding titles before transitioning to acting with roles in films such as Conan the Barbarian in 1982. Two years later, the same year a Conan the Barbarian sequel, Conan the Destroyer, was released, Arnold met with the unproven Cameron about his next project, a film with a much bigger scope than killer fish.
Cameron Says Simpson Was Never Considered To For ‘The Terminator’
In a 2023 interview with the eponymous host of Max’s talk show Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, James Cameron set the record straight about a persistent rumor over the decades about fallen NFL star running back O.J. Simpson being considered to play the Terminator.
During the interview with Cameron, Wallace asked the writer-director to explain how the supposed consideration of Simpson for the role began.
“Very early on, a highly placed person at one of the two studios that funded that film had a brilliant idea and called me up and said, ‘Are you sitting down?’ I said, ‘Well, no, I’m not.’ He said, ‘Are you sitting? O.J. Simpson for the Terminator!’ I said, ‘I actually think that’s a bad idea.’ It didn’t go anywhere,” Cameron told Wallace (via Variety).
Tumblr media
In a 2022 interview with Graham Bensinger, Schwarzenegger went into great detail about what those early interactions with James Cameron were like. Arnold said that when he got involved with the film, O.J. Simpson, then a beloved retired NFL running back who had transitioned to acting, was supposed to be the Terminator, with Schwarzenegger playing Kyle Reese, the good guy role who protects Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and fights against the Terminator. The role would eventually go to Michael Biehn. Arnold was told that he'd be meeting Cameron for lunch, because Cameron had to sign off on him playing Reese.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Convinced James Cameron To Give Him the Terminator Role Instead
At the lunch, Schwarzenegger told Cameron his thoughts about the film and focused on the Terminator, who he wasn't cast to play. He brought up Yul Brenner's killer robotic performance from Westworld, saying "Everything was kind of off because he was not like a human being, there was something wrong here, but you couldn't identify exactly what it was." Arnold was fascinated by Brenner's mechanical movements and told Cameron that whoever played Terminator had to be trained to act like a machine. "He cannot go and look down and have the magazine be put into the gun... This has to be done like a machine, therefore he has to be trained blindfolded."
Schwarzenegger said Cameron was impressed by his opinion and completely agreed. So, right then and there, he told Arnold, "There's no one who will understand the Terminator better than you, so therefore, I think we're all in agreement that you should play the Terminator." To this, Arnold said no. He saw playing the Terminator, who barely had any lines, as a regression in his acting career. He wanted to be Reese, who had all the lines and was more of a challenge. Cameron would not be dissuaded so easily. He told Arnold, "Trust me, I will shoot the character so that you're not only the number one villain they've ever seen, but the number one hero." Cameron told Schwarzenegger to go home and think about it for a few days. He did just that, going back and forth between visualizing himself as the hero and the villain. "Eventually one day I woke up and said to myself, you know, he's right. It would be the most memorable character if it's played right
The Terminator director James Cameron says Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t exactly who he had in mind to play the now iconic movie character.
The sci-fi movie classic will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its domestic release on October 26. In the film, Schwarzenegger stars as the title character—aka the T-800—a cyborg from the future who travels back in time to assassinate Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), the mother of a future leader of a war against AI machines who have become self-aware.
In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Cameron admitted that while Schwarzenegger isn’t the person he envisioned for the now-legendary role, he’s the reason for the longevity of the Terminator franchise.

Me and The Terminator Franchise
There have been 6 films in The Terminator franchise I must admit I have not seen them all so I won’t comment on those but I think the first 2 films in the series are the best ones in the franchise as a whole.
I would have stopped the series after Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines after all it would have made a nice little trilogy. I actually saw the 2nd Terminator film Judgement day first.

Quite a lot of people seem to agree with me that perharps the Terminator Franchise should have stopped after Terminator 2 Judgement day in 1991 the film even had a different ending shot for it that would have stopped the franchise after 2 films as detailed here
The epic saga of the "Terminator" films nearly had a far more conclusive ending in its second installment. James Cameron initially planned for a future-set epilogue in which an older Sarah Connor watches her son John, now a senator, playing with his daughter in a peaceful, Skynet-free world.
This would have sealed the fate of our beloved characters, leaving no room for a sequel, let alone the multiple that followed. As apocalyptic as the "Terminator" franchise tends to be, it's amusing to imagine it wrapping up with a peaceful picnic scene.
Screenrant again published an article on their website called 10 Movies that should have ended the Franchise and Terminator 2 Judgement Day was on their list at number at number 7 this is what they had to say.
There are several reasons why Terminator 2: Judgment Day still holds up today. Apart from the impressive effects and performance that brought the T-1000 to life, Terminator 2 compellingly raised the stakes and further explored the plot's ethical implications. It also pulled off the impossible by turning the first movie's villain, the T-800, into a hero and father figure to John Connor. With Skynet's defeat, Sarah and John finally had a reason to be optimistic in the ending, which brings the story to a full circle. The disappointing events of Terminator 3 and the succeeding reboot sequels only strengthen Judgment Day's place among movies that should have ended the franchise.
Reading those comments myself its very hard to disagree with them also this article from the CBR.com website explains why the Terminator film series should have perharps stopped at Terminator 2 Judgement Day https://www.cbr.com/t2-perfect-end-terminator-series/
Also the yard Barker website included it in a list of films in article called Sequels that could have worked as standalone films this is what they had to say:
James Cameron’s original Terminator is a hallmark of sci-fi and action cinema, and, if anything, its sequel is even better. In this case, the story focuses on Sarah Connor, her son John, and their unlikely ally, the T-800. The entire cast is at the top of their game, though, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger is a highlight as the Terminator. Throughout the film, Cameron showcases his skills as a director, and it’s a film that only grows in importance and relevance as AI becomes a more pronounced and undeniable part of everyone’s daily life, for better and for worse.
James Cameron himself explained why he felt Terminator 2 Judgement day was the best of the Terminator films he directored
During a recent interview with Empire Magazine (via Screen Rant), James Cameron, the visionary director behind the iconic Terminator franchise, offered insights into the evolution of the series and his personal growth as a filmmaker.
Cameron explains, "I look at each of those films as a slice of the cultural media zeitgeist of its time. The Terminator wasn't the first action film of the '80s. It was one of a group of action films, most of which came later. Army of one, giant body count, it was part of a zeitgeist. Terminator 2, there was a shifting consciousness. It was also just a better-made film. Physically better made, better realized. I look at them as moments in a career for me as a storyteller, that have specific meaning to me as well. Could I, with where I am now as a person, after all these school shootings, write The Terminator right now and get excited about it and want to go make it? No. I'm a different person, and that's fine too. That's the way it should be. We should evolve as artists. We should evolve as a society."

wip wednesday on day one nanowrimo sick and twisted world
i was tagged on this extra Fucked Up wip wednesday by my loves @socially-awkward-skeleton @direwombat and @nightbloodbix! outgoing tags below cut for space efficiency + join the writing tag list here!
actually trying to do nanowrimo for the first time, albeit nontraditionally and jumping between a few projects. (yell at me about which ones if desired.) so here’s an excerpt from a bg3 oneshot on the november agenda: lae’zel and my rogue gnome girlie millie having an emotionally constipated debrief following All Of That at the crèche. no real spoiler warning for this one since they are being vague, but a small warning for idle but insincere suicidal ideation + character cracking joke on said topic
Millie swung her legs back and forth, dangled off the ledge of the cliff.  She leaned back, palms pressed against rock, looking down at them — at the skin growing more weathered, dry and cracked by the day — rather than down into the chasm. She would wait here stubbornly, she thought, until someone came looking for her.
If she was lucky, she thought, that would mean she would wait there forever — wait sitting right there for ages there until she grew too weak for her body to hold itself up, and she went limp and plummeted off the cliff in her sleep none the wiser, before she ever had to worry about losing herself to the tadpole.  A soft whisper of wind that never reached to brush her skin told her she was not so lucky.  Attuning her ears to the barely audible rustle of the footsteps told her everything else she needed to know — light, airy and quick, but forceful and sure.  “Lae’zel,” she noted flatly, without lifting her gaze from her own hand pressed against cragged rock. She studied the smattering of sunlight filtering through trees to create blotches of warm bronze against her skin amongst the web of shadows cast by leaves.  She’d spent so long clinging to the shadows — being nothing, nobody, anytime she wanted.  Finding solitude, oblivion in the blink of an eye, as soon the whim to disappear struck her.  Now, here she was — stuck with a camp full of companions her survival necessitated not abandoning, despite her heart crying for space. Including one companion adept enough at tracking her down Millie couldn’t even carve out a five minute illusion of having left them behind.  Hells, she couldn’t have truly held the illusion, anyways. Even with no other soul around, the idle wriggle of the tadpole tickling the depths of her brain would always be there to remind her she wasn’t truly alone.  Millie sighed, the presence of the woman behind her likewise heavily felt despite her lack of audible response.  “If you’re skulking about back there so you can push me off the ledge, make quicker work of it. I’m not that keen on putting up a fight, anyways.”  “Tch,” Lae’zel spat, single syllable stinging with the acidity of disgust. “I would not soil my hands claiming empty victory against an opponent pathetic enough to welcome death,” she replied. “I will turn my sword on you at your surrender should the tadpole overtake you. But only then.” Still not turning around, she droned, “Lae’zel, it’s me — Millie the ghaik.” “Your foolishness is normally tolerable, hardened as it is by your ferocity,” Lae’zel replied, drawn out with a hiss of disdain. “But in the wake of the embarrassment you proved at the Crèche, I find my patience for it thinned.”

Hey barz :] It’s late, and instead of working on the Pogtopia TNT duo comic I started tonight (because comics are lowkey so intimidating), I came to your blog to ask you some questions:
How often do you think about the fact that Revivebur has canonical PTSD related to swords? I think about it a normal about and it doesn’t add extra angst to anything I write, especially not a death scene or anything (some of the biggest lies ever told)
Does everyone it this fandom who likes c!Wilbur and was in a toxic relationship at one point also project that onto c!MAD duo, or is that just like a me thing? (This question is more of a joke, but still)
Any c!Wilbur headcanons that you wanna share?
Are you excited to hear about all the c!Wilbur angst in all my DSMP AU’s (it’s a LOT)
Anyways, have a good day/night, bye :D
tysm for the c!wilbur questions!
I think about c!wilburs ptsd a normal amount! I never particularly think about his trauma revolving swords tho. I think back to the moment in the finale stream where I think c!tommy pulls out a sword in anger (excuse me it’s been over a year since I watched the final stream) and I think about how that would’ve affected c!wilbur. I like to think his body tensed up and his eyes widened and he flinched back a little in that moment. Thinking it was happening again.
Maybe. I wouldn’t be suprised but I never rlly think abt c!mad duo a lot. I should more tho their dynamic has so much potential
-I like to think he’s the kinda guy to refuse to admit he’s disabled/Neurodivergent/Mentally ill. Nope i’m fine type beat. Powering thru the chronic pain and the autistic meltdowns and manic episodes like it’s nothing
-Tourette’s syndrome. I’ve never talked abt this headcanon before but I have tics irl and I feel like he would have them.
-He is a big fan of other forms of art. I think he would paint and write novels he will never show to anyone
-He lost all pain tolerance after revival.
-He has a speech impediment. He grew out of it but it never fully went away
-Pathetically anxious. No comment
-Shakes/trembles constantly. He’s just colder now
-He never knows when he is sick. He will often go weeks without realizing it and usually has to have someone tell him he’s sick (if it’s not bad enough)
-I think he would age regress to cope. In secret of course (c!quackity knows)
-speaking of c!quackity, c!wilbur never realized he was secretly crushing on him bc he never picked up on the social cues
YES I AM. I don’t read a lot of fanfiction anymore but I will still read c!wilbur angst any day
You too tysm for asking I love talking abt c!wilbur :)))))))

Kaleidoscope Masterpost
Hello, all! Welcome to kaleidoscope, my weird little Taylor Swift fanfiction project. Basically, this is "what if the betty/cardigan/august love triangle was actually the entire folklore and evermore albums?".
Chapters will be released every Tuesday, you can either follow the blog for them, or the "kaleidoscope story" tag, check this post, where I'll update the links every week, or message me if you want to be tagged for every update!
Start reading (track order) Start reading (chronologically)
Under the cut, some business, and then the links to the chapters.
To be honest, I'm not even that huge a swiftie, but this is what happened to my brain when I first heard folklore - it's so rich, from a storytelling perspective, that I couldn't help but want to do something with it.
So here we are! Kaleidoscope - not anything to do with the Netflix miniseries (I actually came up with the title long before I ever knew that was a thing), but a collection of chapters following the lives of Betty, James, and Inez, each one based around a song from either folklore or evermore.
Just to get a few things cleared up:
These won't be full out, regular chapters, but short vignettes, accompanied by a moodboard and the corresponding song, because it's just a snapshot of that point in the character's life, not a full description of everything that's going on - I wanted to try and translate the same vibes of the albums and of listening to the songs that way.
This will be non-linear storytelling - it won't follow the character's lives chronologically, but instead by the track order of the original albums. It's kind of like a puzzle, where each next chapter, each snapshot, reveals more of the full picture. Once it's all posted, though, I'll fill in the links for a chronological viewing of the chapters, if you want an easier understanding of it.
Finally, yes, I know Inez isn't originally the name of the other girl in the love triangle, it's meant to be a whole other character, and I do include that in the story, but the very simple explanation is - I like the name, and I wanted to use it.
Also, while the main story is just these 34 chapters, I might, in the end, write some bonus chapters, just because I really love this story and these characters, so let me know if you'd be interested in reading that.
I hope it's all understandable, but always feel free to ask me about the story if you have any questions!
So, without further ado, feel free to peruse and enjoy:

your character (anne and any of the ocs!)
send a number for me to talk about one of the following topics!
Yeah, you only THOUGHT you wanted this. Buckle up, buttercup!
The process of writing for Anne actually started before last year. I took a course on piracy back in grad school and my final paper was an argument for reading nonheteronormativity into piracy—something you wouldn’t think is so controversial but I guess homophobia’s a stronger drug than I gave it credit for. Anyway! Of the many points that paper made, it also made a real case study out of Anne Bonny and M. Read—themselves and their relationship with one another. My prof thought it had legs and pushed me to consider rewriting and refining it but honestly with the way actual history scholars are, I doubt my gay little voice pointing out all these gay little things that might make historical figures gay little people will have an impact. It’s literally to the point where one of the sources I use all the goddamned time actually has a note on both Bonny’s and Read’s pages refusing to address the possibility of a romantic entanglement between them. (Like you could have just said nothing, but you saying you’re going to say nothing is sus af.)
Anyways.
Last year I put her on a blog and ended up really loving her, but really struggling to find people who wanted to write with her. At the time, most of my followers were interested in muses I wasn’t as comfortable with, and getting them to interact with a woman character was like pulling teeth. I eventually gave up, grew despondent, got busy, and abandoned the blog. I’ve thought about going back to give up the URL, but otherwise I don’t think I’d go back.
Anne turned into this really special muse that I’m actually very protective of. Not, like. In the sense that I don’t want her to get hurt or look stupid—she should do both, regularly, for my own amusement—but in the sense of…being really fucking proud of the way I write her. She isn’t Black Sails’ Anne Bonny, despite her face claim; she isn’t ever going to be Our Flag Means Death’s, despite that being the group I get to write her most with; she’s just Ren’s Anne Bonny. Born from history and headcanon and exploration and projection. I’m probably pretty full of myself for this, but I’ll out myself: I think I’m the best goddamned Anne Bonny writer out there, and no other Anne is half the Anne I am.
And I say this having recently asked a friend of mine who also writes her to let me write with her sometime. Because I also have a big dumb lesbian crush on her.
I’m lucky to have fallen into the D-RPG I did with her; I still feel like no one actually wants to write with her here except to indulge their weird friend Ren, and I don’t love that feeling. (I s2g Orion, Ken, don’t start!) Even there I feel weird asking for people to tolerate her—especially since they recently had a different Anne who was Very Important to them—and yes, Orion, second direct call-out cause I’m not being down on myself when I say “tolerate,” I mean that I know she’s abrasive and doesn’t make good first, second, or third impressions outside of certain psychopaths and so hers is a matter of toleration—but I’m lucky there. People are nice and they agree to tolerate her. They talk to me and I’m really getting to develop who she is under circumstances that have just…ended up more relaxed despite being frought with danger. Maybe because she didn’t join, and so has (almost*) no one there she wants to impress.
*She did recently meet Izzy and he complimented her piracy so yes she is trying extra hard to impress one of her idols.
And that’s all the steam I’ve got for that one, folx!

Following what I wrote in the last post – in which I may have stumbled over the soft-switching that must occur for us to do things that fear stops me from doing – it is possible that some form of shuffling must occur before I can write for this blog.
In my steady state, I feel nothing. With respect to these subjects, at least.
To write for therapy, I need to tap in to emotions that are ordinarily switched off to allow me to function. The emotions are extreme, and it is extraordinary to feel them, and so they can overwhelm my initial purpose for writing. I am also attracted to them, moth to flame style, because they feel like life in the absence of regular feeling. Then we reshuffle and the parts that are usually erased from awareness come to the fore. (I feel like “shuffling” is the best description for the experience, so I may overuse the word for a while. Sorry.)
There is a lot of pain back there. There are emotions I do not understand. The past and the parts are the chaos that I rightly fear, and that I do not ordinarily tolerate. We cannot function in the chaos, and I did function in its relative absence (during the amnesia).
--
The new machine I am wiring uses deadly currents. I decided to work my way backward through the circuits – I have focused exclusively on grounding and will work back to the working circuit last. I am making no assumptions because any false assumption could be my last. (I am saying I in this case because my fear and respect for electricity are overriding my faith in the unfused part’s abilities. I am not sure if the saying, “two heads are better than one,” necessarily applies here, but the point is still valid. I am not obstructing or endangering the project by injecting an extra level of safety.)
I think there is application for this model in my therapy writing. I am a sucker for words like “grounding,” that have actual meaning in both environments.
--
So, somewhere toward the beginning of this post, I was going to write about how the emotional levels of posts to this blog are either 0 or 10, and rarely anything between. The feels need to trip an emotional circuit breaker, to trigger a reshuffle, and then to leave me emotionally hungover; or it is just a dry, academic discussion of no consequence.
What I am describing here is cliché on the page, but no less a reality.
--
I now remember that I have written, maybe a few years ago now, that I do not know how to help Angela. I barely know how to help myself. I do not know what to do with her trauma. It is kind of the thing with DID, that I have no common references with which to understand what she went through.
When it comes to the boy part(s?), I have no awareness of their trauma(s?). I have so little awareness that the boy part is mostly only an undeveloped concept for me. Words on a page, only. Our system’s junk drawer, I suppose.
I still feel like these parts are complete strangers who moved in overnight, when the amnesia broke. I still hope they will move on soon.
I would like to help the parts, but I also need to remain uninvolved for safety.
I am glad I am not them.

Best Magnesium Oxide Board: A Versatile and Sustainable Building Solution
Magnesium Oxide Board (MgO board) is revolutionizing the construction industry with its durability, versatility, and eco-friendly properties. Whether you're working on residential, commercial, or industrial projects, MgO boards stand out as a superior alternative to traditional building materials like drywall and plywood.
In this blog, we’ll explore what makes the best magnesium oxide boards an excellent choice for modern construction.
What Is Magnesium Oxide Board?
Magnesium oxide board is a composite material made from magnesium oxide (a naturally occurring mineral), water, and other reinforcing components. Known for its strength, fire resistance, and moisture tolerance, MgO boards are widely used for walls, ceilings, flooring, and exterior sheathing.
Key Features of the Best Magnesium Oxide Boards
1. Durability
MgO boards are incredibly strong and resistant to impact, making them ideal for high-traffic areas and long-lasting applications.
2. Fire Resistance
One of the standout features of MgO boards is their non-combustible nature, providing a high degree of fire safety in homes and commercial buildings.
3. Moisture and Mold Resistance
Unlike traditional drywall, MgO boards do not absorb moisture, preventing mold and mildew growth—a significant advantage in humid or wet environments.
Tumblr media
4. Eco-Friendly Composition
Made from natural, non-toxic materials, MgO boards are an environmentally friendly choice. They are recyclable and produce fewer emissions during manufacturing compared to other building materials.
5. Thermal and Acoustic Insulation
High-quality MgO boards offer excellent thermal insulation, helping maintain energy efficiency, and provide soundproofing for a quieter indoor environment.
6. Ease of Installation
Lightweight yet strong, MgO boards are easy to cut, drill, and install, reducing construction time and labor costs.
Popular Uses of Magnesium Oxide Boards
Interior Walls and Ceilings: A perfect replacement for drywall, offering a smooth, durable finish.
Exterior Sheathing: Provides weather resistance and structural integrity for exterior walls.
Flooring: Sturdy enough for subfloor applications, withstanding heavy loads.
Roofing Substrate: Adds fire resistance and durability to roof systems.

Top Miscalculations to Avoid When Investing in Crypto IDOs
Investing in Initial DEX Offerings (IDOs) can be an exciting yet risky adventure for cryptocurrency enthusiasts. As the market evolves, new opportunities arise, but so do potential risks. Understanding common mistakes investors make when participating in IDOs is crucial for maximizing returns and minimizing losses. This blog explores the top miscalculations to avoid when investing in upcoming crypto IDOs, ensuring you're well-prepared for your next investment.
1. Neglecting Thorough Research
One of the most significant mistakes investors make is failing to conduct thorough research before committing funds to an IDO. Each project has its unique features, goals, and risks, and understanding these elements is essential.
What to Do:
Read the Whitepaper: The whitepaper provides vital information about the project’s vision, technology, and tokenomics. Make sure you understand the project’s purpose and how it plans to achieve its goals.
Analyze the Team: Investigate the backgrounds of the project’s founders and team members. Look for experience in relevant fields and a history of successful projects.
2. Ignoring Tokenomics
Tokenomics refers to the economic model surrounding a cryptocurrency’s token, including supply, distribution, and utility within the ecosystem. Many investors overlook this critical aspect, leading to poor investment decisions.
What to Do:
Evaluate Supply and Demand: Understand the total supply of tokens and how they will be distributed among stakeholders. A well-structured tokenomics model can significantly impact a token’s value.
Assess Utility: Ensure that the token has a clear use case within the project. Tokens with strong utility tend to have better long-term prospects.
3. FOMO Investing
Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) often leads investors to rush into an IDO without proper evaluation. This impulsive behavior frequently results in poor investment choices and financial losses.
What to Do:
Stick to Your Strategy: Develop a clear investment strategy based on your financial goals and risk tolerance. Avoid making impulsive decisions based on hype or social media trends.
Use an Upcoming IDO List: Keep track of upcoming IDOs through reliable sources to plan your investments strategically rather than reacting impulsively.
4. Overlooking Security Measures
Security is paramount in the cryptocurrency space, yet many investors neglect this aspect when participating in IDOs. Failing to take necessary precautions can lead to significant losses.
What to Do:
Use Reputable Platforms: Participate in IDOs on well-known launchpads with a solid reputation for security.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Always enable 2FA on your accounts to add an extra layer of security against unauthorized access.
5. Failing to Diversify Investments
Investing all your funds in a single IDO can be risky, especially if the project fails or underperforms. Many investors make the mistake of putting all their eggs in one basket.
What to Do:
Diversify Your Portfolio: Spread your investments across multiple projects rather than focusing solely on one IDO. This approach can help mitigate risks and improve overall returns.
Consider Upcoming IDOs: Regularly review lists of upcoming IDOs and allocate funds based on thorough research into each project’s potential.
6. Not Setting Realistic Expectations
Many investors enter the crypto space with unrealistic expectations about potential returns. While some projects may yield significant profits, others may not perform as expected.
What to Do:
Set Attainable Goals: Understand that not every investment will be a winner. Set realistic expectations based on market conditions and project fundamentals.
Monitor Market Trends: Stay informed about broader market trends that could impact your investments by following reliable cryptocurrency news sources.
7. Ignoring Community Sentiment
The community surrounding a cryptocurrency project can significantly impact its success or failure. Many investors overlook community sentiment when making investment decisions.
What to Do:
Engage with Communities: Join forums, social media groups, or Discord channels related to the project you’re interested in. Engaging with other investors can provide valuable insights into community sentiment.
Follow Influencers: Keep an eye on industry influencers who provide updates and opinions on trending cryptocurrencies and projects.
8. Not Keeping Track of IDO Launch Schedules
Missing out on important dates related to an IDO can lead to missed investment opportunities or unfavorable entry points.
What to Do:
Use an IDO Launch Schedule: Keep track of important dates related to upcoming IDOs using dedicated calendars or platforms that provide this information.
Set Reminders: Use calendar reminders for key dates such as whitelisting deadlines or token trading launch times.
Conclusion
Investing in crypto IDOs can offer substantial opportunities for growth but comes with its share of risks. By avoiding these common mistakes—such as neglecting research, ignoring tokenomics, succumbing to FOMO, overlooking security measures, failing to diversify investments, setting unrealistic expectations, ignoring community sentiment, and not tracking launch schedules—you can enhance your chances of success in this exciting space.
As you explore new IDO projects in 2024, stay informed by utilizing resources like an IDO crypto list, following the latest crypto news, and regularly reviewing upcoming IDOs. With careful planning and strategic execution, you can navigate the world of Initial DEX Offerings effectively and potentially reap significant rewards from your investments. Tolerance Project extra Thank you for the music Part 2 Classic Cowboys to Classical music
Introduction
Hello there Ben Brown here and welcome to the 2nd Chapter of a blog that looks at how we created the soundtrack for the Tolerance film as we join part 2 Robert is trying to get to a Job interview and Julie has an ungrateful boss to deal with
Tumblr media
4 minutes 13 seconds Robert has to get to a job interview, but finds it hard work getting there. He misses his taxi, then a bus and he narrowly avoids getting run over. He is saved by a passer-by, played by Dan McTiernan, who was also our first Assistant Director. When Robert is about to be run over you can hear the Jaws theme for the first time. You hear it again when Robert meets the infamous Mr Grosenberg.
Again we went with the John Williams original the famous theme which we all know and love is called main title/first victim.
Tumblr media
To learn more about the original Jaws 1975 click here
youtube
I always felt a bit sorry for John Williams his record companies always seemed to a bit slow when releasing single versions of his hit themes. He missed out on a sure hit with his Star Wars theme in 1977, when a disco cover version of the main theme by a band called Meco entered the UK charts at number 7 and a number 1 hit in the US
Tumblr media
You can find a video about that version by clicking here https://href.li/?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAjuvI6sX2U&list=PL17vqAEJv6CV1syq4_fFKgBwSqGdJzH9z&index=264&t=135s
His original version used in the film spent 2 weeks in the US charts reaching the top ten
To learn more about the original Star Wars click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8_7IAP-biU
Like wise a cover version of his Jaws theme became a UK top 30 hit in 1975 John wouldn’t have a hit under steam till his Superman theme entered the UK top 40 in 1978
As Robert makes his way to the Bus stop we here People are strange a song by the Doors from their 2nd album Strange days The song peaked at number 12 in the BillBoard hot 100 US charts in 1967.
Tumblr media
it later featured in the Horror film the lost boys from 1987.
When it was covered by Echo & The Bunnymen reaching #29 in the UK charts. The song was produced by Ray Manzarek, who as part of the Doors played Keyboards on the original track and on the cover version, its this version from the lost boys that we used in the Tolerance film
Tumblr media
To learn about the making of The Lost Boys film click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4wGnXH4DOI&t=4s
8 minutes 24 seconds On her way to work Julie is past by a car which parks in a disabled space. Julie is not happy when she realises that the person parked in the space is not disabled, but is in fact her boss, Mrs Jones, played by Kate Faulkner. Julie daydreams about what she would like to do to her boss, leading to a spoof of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
Tumblr media
The Version used in the Tolerance film is a cover from an an unknown artist  and was not by Ennio Morricone or Hugo Montenegro.
In 1968 Hugo Montenegro released a cover version of the good the bad and the Ugly recorded on a Moog synthesizer it was big hit on both sides of the Atlantic a number 1 in the UK and a top 10 single in the US hitting number 2 in the US hot 100  It was held off from the top spot by another cinematic song: Simon & Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson." from the film The Graduate
Tumblr media
To listen to the original Good the Bad and ugly main theme by Ennio Morricone click here (6) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly • Main Theme • Ennio Morricone - YouTube to listen to the cover version by Hugo Montenegro click here "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" by Hugo Montenegro and His Orchestra
Tumblr media
The film's soundtrack was also a big hit reaching number 4 in the US album charts

11 minutes 19 seconds We cut to Julie, who is unhappy in her work. Mrs Jones tells her that she wants five copies of the work action plan and she needs them now. She later tells Julie that she can have the morning off, but first Julie has to tackle the monster photocopier. We chose the classical music, Car O Fortuna - Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff for the background music to this scene. This track is taken from my mums CD collection thanks mum !
Tumblr media
Carmina Burana is a cantata composed in 1935 and 1936 by Carl Orff, based on 24 poems from the medieval collection Carmina Burana. Its full Latin title is Carmina Burana: Cantiones profanae cantoribus et choris cantandae comitantibus instrumentis atque imaginibus magicis ("Songs of Beuern: Secular songs for singers and choruses to be sung together with instruments and magical images"). It was first performed by the Oper Frankfurt on 8 June 1937. It is part of Trionfi, a musical triptych that also includes Catulli Carmina and Trionfo di Afrodite. The first and last sections of the piece are called "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi" ("Fortune, Empress of the World") and start with "O Fortuna".
Tumblr media
14 minutes 29 seconds Robert goes into town to try and get a birthday card for Julie, but finds some of the shops and cash machines inaccessible. Does anybody know what the drum and bass music is here? Please let me know, so I can add it to the soundtrack playlist
17 minutes 29 seconds
Odeon Cinema sequence and the last of our film spoofs - this time to An Officer and a Gentleman. So it was only right when spoofing that film we use Up where we belong from the 1982 film. The song a duet by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes it plays out in all its glory on its original chart release it was a top ten smash in the UK a number one in the US and it also won a Golden Globe A Grammy Award and an Oscar for best song.
Tumblr media
19 mins 12 seconds as Julie and Robert make there way into the Odeon Cinema the instrumental track Green Onions can be heard recorded in 1962 by Booker T. & the M.G.'s. Described as "one of the most popular instrumental rock and soul songs ever, its also  one of "the most popular R&B instrumentals of its era", the tune is a twelve-bar blues with a rippling Hammond M3 organ line by Booker T. Jones that he wrote when he was 17.
Tumblr media
It started life as a B side the instrumental will become a soul standard when its first released on the US charts on the 11 August 1962 where it reaches no 3
It first appeared on the UK Singles Chart on December 15, 1979, following its use in the film Quadrophenia; it peaked at No. 7 on January 26, 1980, and stayed on the chart for 12 weeks
Tumblr media
So Robert gets the job at the cinema and we see a montage of shots of him enjoying his new role to the music of The Professionals theme by Laurie Johnson The popular TV show ran on the ITV network for six series between 1977-1983 I like the scene but I would have used the classic Pearl and Dean Cinema Music.
Tumblr media
Laurie Johnson passed away recently you can read the obituary by clicking here Laurie Johnson: The Avengers theme composer dies - BBC News

Astrological Insights: Mercury Retrograde and Its Impact on Our Conversations
Introduction
Astrology enthusiasts often speak in hushed tones about the dreaded Mercury retrograde. This celestial event, occurring several times a year, is famed for its disruptive influence on communication, technology, and travel. But what exactly is Mercury retrograde, and why does it have such a notorious reputation? More importantly, how does it specifically affect our daily communications? In this blog, we'll delve into the intricacies of Mercury retrograde and explore the communication challenges it presents, along with some tips to navigate this tumultuous period.
Also read - Exploring Ancient Wisdom of Vedic Astrology and Palmistry
Understanding Mercury Retrograde
Mercury retrograde happens when Mercury appears to move backward in the sky from our vantage point on Earth. This optical illusion, caused by the differing orbits of Earth and Mercury, typically lasts for about three weeks. Mercury, named after the Roman messenger god, rules over communication, travel, and technology. When it goes retrograde, these areas are believed to be particularly susceptible to mishaps and misunderstandings.
Communication Challenges During Mercury Retrograde
Misunderstandings and Miscommunications: One of the most common issues during Mercury retrograde is the increased likelihood of misunderstandings. Conversations that would normally flow smoothly can become fraught with confusion. Misinterpretations abound, and it's not unusual to find oneself repeatedly clarifying points that should have been straightforward.
Technological Glitches: Given Mercury's influence over technology, it's no surprise that this period often sees an uptick in tech-related problems. Emails get lost, important files become corrupted, and software updates might not go as planned. These glitches can significantly hamper effective communication, both in personal and professional settings.
Delayed Responses and Lost Messages: During Mercury retrograde, you might notice delays in responses. Messages sent through various channels—email, text, social media—can get delayed or even lost in transit. This can lead to frustration and misalignment, particularly in time-sensitive matters.
Faulty Decision Making: The clarity of thought necessary for making sound decisions can be impaired during Mercury retrograde. This period is notorious for influencing people to rethink and revise their previous decisions. It's advisable to avoid signing contracts or making major commitments until Mercury resumes its direct motion.

Navigating Mercury Retrograde
While Mercury retrograde can be challenging, it doesn’t have to be disastrous. Here are some strategies to help you cope:
Double-Check Communications: Whether sending an email or a text, take an extra moment to ensure clarity. Reread your messages, and if possible, discuss important matters in person to avoid misinterpretation.
Backup Important Data: To guard against technological issues, make sure to back up important files and documents. This can prevent potential loss and ensure you have access to critical information when needed.
Practice Patience: Delays and misunderstandings can be frustrating, but maintaining patience is key. Recognize that this is a temporary phase, and exercise extra tolerance with yourself and others.
Revisit Old Projects: Use this time to review and reflect on past projects. Mercury retrograde is ideal for revisiting and refining old ideas, allowing for improvements and thoughtful reconsiderations.
Conclusion
Mercury retrograde, with its propensity to disrupt communication, can indeed be a trying time. However, by understanding its influence and implementing thoughtful strategies, we can mitigate its effects. Rather than viewing Mercury retrograde as a purely negative period, we can see it as an opportunity to slow down, reassess, and refine our approach to communication. With patience and preparedness, we can navigate the challenges of Mercury retrograde and emerge with greater clarity and resilience.

reblogging bc i have very similar frustrations Often, but also to give some resources! op a lot of this is probably stuff you're already aware of just based on ur blog, but i figure it could be helpful to other people too.
[sewing tips]
- sewing machines are often not as scary as they seem! they will make your sewing faster and easier! Often you can borrow them from a library, or many people probably have an older relative with one who would be happy to bond with you over a learning experience!
- if you're hand sewing and want to avoid the needle holes in your cheaper or silkier fabrics, you want a finer needle with a smaller eye. Usually this will be labeled with either a higher number size, or for a specific purpose. the finest needles are usually quilting needles (sometimes called betweens, these are shorter) and beading needles (these are often very long, so might be better if you struggle with hand cramps/dexterity, but are also more likely to bend)
Tumblr media
- when it comes to getting materials, keep an eye on local sources!! i have a craft store near me with a free scraps table, and sometimes people leave decently sized scraps of quilting cotton there, which can be good for a quick patch. i'm also constantly seeing people on Facebook marketplace trying to clear out their fabric stashes for relatively cheap.
- re: material, you can also cannibalize those old shitty clothes! use the fabrics to patch and reinforce other things! they might not be ideal, but they'll add an extra barrier
- a lot of upsizing and downsizing (especially for pants) is pretty simple and easy to find YouTube tutorials on! pay attention to where the garment doesn't fit well and search '[garment] too [tight/loose] in [area, ex: shoulders, waist, crotch, collar]' try to find videos that seem to be made by tailors or individual people, unfortunately you will often need to sort through life hack style junk as well.
[shopping tips]
- whenever possible, try to physically experience clothes before you buy them. sometimes your local thrift stores just won't have what you're looking for and you'll have to pray that thing you buy online fits and feels nice, but it's always safer to check it out in person first
- yes, absolutely seek out natural fibers, BUT!! figure out which ones YOU like! this might take some trial and error, but it should be pretty clear after a while, and you can get in the habit of checking tags before you buy something. i love cotton, i tolerate wool, linen is amazing but i personally do not fuck with it. buy things you will wear.
- i find i am more willing to buy myself something if i can justify it as, "if i don't wear it it can be scrap fabric" this is good because it means i end up trying new things and actually getting clothes, but it can be a slippery slope towards "i know i won't wear this but the fabric is cool!" in my experience you should only buy something like that if you already have a project started/planned!! otherwise your brain is trying to trick you into owning one million fabric!!
[mending/maintenance tips]
- read the care instructions on your clothes!! if the tag is gone/you can't find care instructions, try to go based on the fabric type, and always opt for gentler washing options
- you don't have to like visible mending. invisible mending also exists, and it's a skill you can learn just as much as visible mending is!
- even within visible mending, there are all sorts of styles. sashiko/sashiko-inspired styles get a lot of coverage, as does darning. there's also Swiss darning (for knit fabrics), plain old patching, and a plethora of other tactics! explore and find what you like!!
I try to speak against the whole "guilt about consumption" thing in environmentalism but god damn if it doesn't Get Me sometimes (all the time)
I've been putting off buying new clothes for like a year because I just feel bad buying stuff but it's getting to a very bad situation as I am running out of pants that are warm and have few enough holes to be decent to wear in public.
I'm trying to mend some of them by embroidery but that's very slow and they're so poor quality to begin with that running embroidery floss through them stretches new holes in them.
I bought my one and only decent pair of work pants when I was still recovering from The Situation a couple years ago and had lost a really unhealthy amount of weight, so now they're starting to feel too tight and hard to move around in.
I've read articles about sustainability where people talked about downsizing their wardrobe to just like 4 outfits, and I don't comprehend it! The fewer clothes you have the more you have to wear them. I bought a new carhartt hoodie at the beginning of this semester, from the mens section too since those tend to be a little better quality, and I have been wearing it as an outer layer for maybe a month and a half and I have washed it ONCE and it is pilling like crazy. Like there's pills all over it not just in high-friction areas, everywhere! It gives it this awful rough scraggy texture and it makes me very sad.

Data is the foundation of successful businesses in today's linked digital landscape, driving everything from decision-making procedures to consumer interactions. Organizations heavily rely on powerful database management systems to fully utilize the value of data. Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB stand out among the many solutions available as three well-known names. These database systems are essential for organizing, retrieving, and storing data; yet, they each go about this in a different way and have different advantages and disadvantages.
This blog is to uncover the complexities of these three database juggernauts, comprehending what makes them special and how they cater to various needs.
Microsoft SQL Server
A game-changer in relational databases. Robust, reliable, and feature-packed, it drives apps from small projects to enterprise solutions. Join us to unveil its magic—data storage, retrieval, performance, and security.
Hardware:
Running on Windows-based hardware, Microsoft SQL Server is a dependable relational database management system (RDBMS). It can be installed on a variety of hardware arrangements, including single-server systems and clusters of powerful servers. For the best speed while processing big datasets and difficult queries, it makes use of multi-core computers, lots of RAM, and quick storage systems.
Software:
The Windows operating system-based Microsoft SQL Server has a number of editions, each suited to a particular purpose, including the Express, Standard, and Enterprise editions. In addition to SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Integration Services, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services, it offers a range of tools for database management. These resources support database creation, upkeep, and business intelligence.
Procedure:
For data administration and manipulation, Microsoft SQL Server adheres to the Structured Query Language (SQL) standards. SQL commands are used by users to create, update, and retrieve data. In order to improve data security and integrity, it offers stored processes, triggers, and functions for procedural logic. To maintain data availability and reliability, SQL Server also provides sophisticated tools including replication, backup and recovery, and failover clustering.
Data:
SQL Server maintains the consistency and integrity of the data by storing it in relational tables with established schemas. It supports ACID transactions, which ensure that database operations are carried out trustworthily. ACID stands for Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, and Durability. Additionally, SQL Server makes it possible to build intricate connections between tables, which makes it easier to get and analyze data quickly.
MySQL
Is an open-source relational database management system, consists of key components that drive its functionality:
Hardware:
Popular open-source relational database system MySQL is compatible with Windows, Linux, and macOS in addition to other hardware systems. It is a versatile option for both small-scale applications and large-scale systems because it is designed to operate effectively even on basic hardware configurations.
Software:
The Community Edition and the Enterprise Edition are the two primary editions of MySQL's core system. While the Enterprise Edition offers extra tools and assistance, the Community Edition is open-source and delivers necessary features. A graphical tool called MySQL Workbench makes it easier to create, manage, and develop queries for databases.
Procedure:
Similar to Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL too employs SQL to manipulate data. Using SQL commands, users can create, change, and query databases, among other things. MySQL offers user-defined functions, stored procedures, and triggers, enabling programmers to incorporate unique logic inside the database. To improve data availability and fault tolerance, it provides replication and clustering functions.
Data:
Structured tables with predefined schemas are used by MySQL to store data. It is well renowned for performing well in read-intensive situations, making it appropriate for applications that call for quick data retrieval. Because MySQL supports ACID transactions, data consistency and durability are guaranteed. Additionally, it supports many storage engines, including InnoDB and MyISAM, each of which is tailored for a particular use case.
MongoDB
A popular NoSQL database, operates through essential components that define its functionality:
Hardware:
Leading NoSQL database system MongoDB was created to manage unstructured or partially organized data. It can be installed on a variety of hardware setups, including cloud-based settings and common hardware. The architecture of MongoDB is adaptable and can extend horizontally to handle expanding datasets.
Software:
MongoDB has both a community edition and an enterprise version, and it functions as a distributed database. MongoDB is accessed by developers through drivers tailored to their chosen programming languages. A graphical tool called MongoDB Compass facilitates query exploration and database management, making it simpler to work with the document-oriented approach.
Procedure:
The flexible schema-less method used by MongoDB differs from that of conventional RDBMS systems. Data is kept as groups of documents that resemble JSON. Users work with MongoDB by performing CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) actions on documents using the MongoDB Query Language (MQL). Due to its nature, MongoDB is a good choice for applications that need quick and agile development cycles.
Data:
Documents, which can have different structures inside the same collection, are how MongoDB stores data. As data develops, this enables increased flexibility and agility. MongoDB offers sharding, which distributes data across different servers, to enable horizontal scaling. In its "eventual consistency" concept, availability is prioritized over consistency.

You couldn't ask for anybody better. He had to know he was better too, inside and out.
The way he slid you your favorite hot tea, lemon zinger with honey to be specific, whenever it was a late-night and your eyes hurt from staring at your laptop, it made your heart ache from those sweet gestures. He'd press his lips to your temple and whisper little phrases of encouragement. He didn't even know the tight hold he had on your heart- and damn did it hurt so good when did things like that.
"You got this y/n, it's only a couple more pages left." Of course, you didn't want to finish your research paper for your philosophy class. You were burnt out from bulky projects and trying to stay attentive in other classes. Jeno could see it, couldn’t miss it.
Sometimes he'd be in your dorm in the early morning, already prepared himself at his own apartment (lucky bastard). He looked as attractive as ever in that simply loose long sleeve white shirt that vaguely outlined his toned arms and abdomen. You preferred his presence more since you were desolate and your roommate practically lived in her boyfriend's single room. Once again, those lucky bastards.
Nowadays, he'd see your slightly sunken skin under your eyes, a deeper shade than typical. Your sclera was tinted red from the lack of sleep you were getting, and sometimes he swore you were consuming cannabis. Your body tended to slow, trudging back in your room after he hugged you a warm good morning. You genuinely lacked energy and you swore you were seeing colors at this point, the hues seemed to either be dialing up and down, scaring you when by yourself.
Yeah, your headaches were nothing to play around with either. It made it difficult to want to get up in the morning when you knew pain and discomfort were later to follow. However, it felt worse to lay there in pain knowing something could’ve been done.
So back in your little desk space in your dorm room, when you were slowly sliding off your hand because you were falling asleep reading over the last page you wrote, he hoped the sweet aroma of the tea woke your senses. You just hummed in response to his words, your heart swelling a little more with love for him when you felt him slide one of his hands in yours, interlocking your fingers and squeezing it for extra reassurance.
You loved him so damn much.
"I'll buy you those chocolate-covered strawberries from that shop down on Jonesview Ave if you turn it in on time," is what his final words were as he walked away that made you get a B+ on that paper, to say the least.
And when he came knocking on your door later that week at around 10 p.m. because he knew you just came from your "mandatory" boba break on Thursdays, you were pleasantly surprised to see two sheet masks in his hands and a cheeky smile on his face.
"If you think this is an attack it is. I already know you haven't been following your nightly routine," is what he'd say before you could question him. Now don't get him wrong (ever), you still had the face of a girl he couldn't help but stare at, but he didn't want you obsessing over the acne that was going to make a not-so-subtle entrance on your face if you gave up now.
"So," you drawled out softly as you tried not to smile in fulfillment from his tender hands smoothing out the cold and wet sheet on your face. Your legs were a little frigid from the shorts you wore as you sat on the toilet seat, him hovering close in front of you. He tapped your cheek to remind you that facial movement would ruin the placement of the mask. He already finished his, and it was an amusing sight to see his hair in a sprout-like ponytail with your orange scrunchie to keep it together.
"How long do we keep this on?" You questioned cautiously. His face blanked as he tried to remember, but he naively threw the packages away without reading the directions first.
"Uh- that’s a great question, but did you know that this mask actually is supposed to help with hydrating the skin?" He sputtered out to cover his lack of incentive to answer, knowing how to distract you. You had a thing for product benefits and you fell for it every time. So he went on a tangent about the masks potato extract and what the hyaluronic acid would provide for your pores and blemishes.
He was honestly bullshitting and going off of what one of his latest friends, Sungchan, would say. You would enjoy his company.
You couldn't see his eyes become crescent moons when you poached him for more information and he answered with just as much interest. Jeno sat on the bathroom mat in front of the shower and looked up at you with his undivided attention as you waved your hands and widened your eyes in animation. White sheet mask and all. You beamed under that small bathroom dingy fluorescent lights that night.
It was a feeling he didn't know how to describe, let alone acknowledge. A feeling that made him a little dizzy just being in your vicinity. It washed over as if it ran through his nervous system, and he welcomed it every single time.
He loved you so fucking much.
"Shh, stop fussing, Lee. I'm just fixing his mess you call a bedroom," You interrupted his complaining. It truly was a very hypocritical statement from you, considering your room looked like it had its own demons to deal with. He insisted you come over, your place was very depressing and a change of environment might help you get out of your slump to see your active personality again.
It was the perfect size apartment, and the furnishing complimented him well- masculine, mature, and stylish.
You crawled in his memory foamed bed after straightening his space out and instantly regretted laying down on the cloud-like duvet. You needed to sleep, but how could you. There was work that always needed to be done and how were you going to even start them?
The bed dipped beside you, and nothing could wipe that worrying look of the inner turmoil of your pretty features. He had two steaming mugs in hand, whipped cream perfectly swirled. But you looked up at him, a sudden rush of panic beginning to settle in. Something wasn't right when your chest began hurting from your heart pounding and your mouth went dry.
"Hey, you know what, I think I need to head back now that I think about it, there's tons of stuff I need to catch up on," You hurried your speech since your voice was becoming thick with emotion, stumbling over some words. He could read you like a book and knew the last thing you needed was to be alone. He was quick and careful in setting the mugs on the nightstand, brows furrowed as he did his best in comfortably pulling you against him, your body physically quivering now.
"You don't need to leave, y/n," his usual silvery yet husky voice was traded out for a more urging and softer one. His back was leaning against the headboard as he held you safely in between his legs, your form curled against him, seeking security and comfort. You hiccuped into the crook of his neck, holding back tears you simply can't let him see. That stupid lump in your throat was making it hard to breathe properly.
And he let you cry. He let your tears saturate his shirt when you reached to wrap your arms around his neck to seek more of his warmth. It was not a pleasant surprise to see you lose the last bit of control you were maintaining this entire week come crumbling down with the unconditional amount of kindness and care he was showing you.
It was just so, so hard. Being a responsible young adult, while also trying to live life to the fullest. Trying to turn your assignments in on time and have them be of acceptable quality. Worrying about the future, trying to stay level in the fast pace of it all. Needless to say, you were overwhelmed. Nights of avoiding and putting off things till later, or cramming every assignment possible into one sitting.
At times like this where you realized you did have someone in your corner; always there to cheer you on, to show you in every way they can the love that they have for you. You appreciated the fact that he didn't question you as you shuddered against him, the untrollable faucet you called your eyes kept pouring and pouring.
He never loosened his hold around your waist, his other hand holding your nape. He whispered such sweet things to you, encouraging you to feel what you were in the moment. He was so good to you. It felt like an eternity being this close, this intimate.
"I'm sorry," you croaked out after your sobbing subsided. He held you tighter against him and whispered that there was nothing you should ever be sorry about, especially when it came to him. God, you felt bad now. You felt undeserving of it all. But he kept coming back to you, checking on you, making sure you were still eating and taking care of yourself. He pulled you back, making sure you looked him in the eyes
"Listen to me okay, you shouldn't be stressing about these kinds of things. Professor Janes hasn't even graded the papers from the midterm yet, she's definitely not worried about next week's assignment being handed in." Jeno joked, his thumb caressing your cheek and tone light-hearted and mellow. It worked in getting you to scoff and tighten the nervous grip on the hem of his shirt.
"I'm serious, think about it- you're burying yourself into getting ahead of someone who isn't even trying to keep up." He stressed, and it did make sense. Your face dropped when you realized he was right. You were purposely burning yourself out and for what? To compete? Personal gain?
It was in that moment, your watery eyes gazed into inquisitive ones; that puppy dog look never gets old. You came to the conclusion; there was nobody like him. Call it whatever you want, but there was not a single man you'd let hold you at your lowest, tell you truths you were denying in your head, and be so amorous with overall.
And you looked at him, really did. It was cute when he frowned at how quiet you were and looked around the room to avoid that weird look you were giving him. That overwhelming feeling in your chest, it ruptured and spread until it was the only emotion consuming you, panic be damned. His slightly calloused hand could feel how flushed your cheek was getting, but you weren't crying anymore.
"I tried figuring that out on my own, to be honest with you, but I didn't want to realize I was doing this to myself," you concluded and he hummed in response. So you laid back on his chest, closing your eyes and taking in the surrealness of the situation. His fingers lightly glided over your scalp, lulling you to a lax and languid state when the stars plagued behind your eyelids.
"I wish you wouldn't work yourself so hard," was the last thing you heard him murmur before you went to sleep in his hold. And he was filled with unbridled joy knowing you were getting some shut-eye while being by your side.
The t.v. was the first thing you heard when you woke, an R&B artist you didn't recognize singing over slow beats. Your vision was fuzzy when you looked at two miserable mugs in the dim room. It took a few more seconds to realize you were laying comfortably on Jeno's bed, but the owner was nowhere to be found. You stretched and yawned in the most unpleasant way possible when your clothes began itching you the wrong way.
Picking your phone off the nightstand, you scrolled through your notifications and finally found one from Taeyong, Mark, Ten, Haechan, and the samoyed impersonator about 15 minutes ago. What a coincidence, it only happens once in a blue moon.
leader of the lee's: please tell me you have measuring tape and the will to live
lee #4: went to get some food, you know where my clother are, there's a clean towel in the closet tho. and if you steal my blankets, im putting my cold feet on you :/
morkus lee: Hey, sorry to bother you but it's very urgent. So like is it true that my forehead is like big cause hyuck said that he can play tic tac toe on it and ma ybe he's lying but like I tried and now I have...
lee #5: if you respond to markus i'll tell jeno you used to write smutty fanfic about Zayn Malik
lee #10: i ran out of white gouache, so i'm stealing yours, thx love u :3
You snorted to yourself and replied to everyone accordingly, Mark not included. You liked Jeno's message to signal you read and understood. He should be back any second so you got to work on draping his tee over your head and tying the drawstring around your waist from his larger pajama pants.
It smelled like his pleasant scent and it instantly felt like home. You washed your face with his products (they were the same as yours since you recommended them to him) and patted your skin dry.
In the midst of cocooning yourself on the large bed, Two Broke Girls playing on the screen, Jeno, sauntered in with a tied bag that smelled of fried chicken and fries. He apologized for taking so long, he somehow got lost on his way back.
It clinked with the familiar sound and the green hue of Soju bottles pressing against the transparent bag. Ah, your eyes glittered upon the liquor and good food just mere inches away.
"I know it's Sunday at," he proceeded to look at the time before continuing, "7:03 p.m., but you need this. So don't throw up on my floors." He's too good because you were a talking machine with a potty mouth when drunk.
You both sat on the floor with your backs against the side of the bed, the boxes of food empty, about 4 small-sized empty bottles split between the two of you (you drank a little too much) and the conversations shared were random and full of life.
Then, you were yapping his ear off about color theory and how it's a bunch of bullshit at around 9 at night.
"What's even the point? People love whatever shitty color combinations they can pull out of their ass anyways, so what's the goddamn point?" You shouted as your companion giggled at your incredulity, honestly not comprehending a word you were saying.
"Oh wait you have something on your face," he slurred his words, his dark grey hair moving along with his head as it tilted. He scooted closer and reached a shaky hand up to your lips. It was hot in the space, yet chills ran down to your fingertips. He licked his own lips looking at yours and peeked through his lashes into your widened stare. A hard thump, thump, thump, resounded in your ear as your heart couldn't keep up with the trepidation. Your body was attracted to his as you leaned forward, and it quite literally felt as though time slowed with every moment he was getting closer.
You yelped in surprise when he flicked your cheek instead.
"You piece of shit, why'd you do that? I thought you were going to kiss me or something! Stop laughing! What if I did that to you, huh? You'd be sitting there blue balls and all." He was rolled over wholeheartedly laughing at you, stuttering over his words trying to respond. He contained himself but almost lost it again after seeing your childish form frowning at him with the ugliest face you could muster.
A teasing grin took over his face when he motioned for you to come closer. With the alcohol in your system, you didn't have the incentive to hesitate to move in front of him place your palms on his muscular thighs to lean over in his flushed face, your knees planted on the floor. He was delighted to feel you shiver when he moved closer to your ear, hot breath fanning your neck.
"I wouldn't want our first kiss to happen when you wouldn't even remember it y/n." The sultry sweet voice made you feel a little more than love, it was something lustier. You clumsily leaned back from him, wheezing out a breath from the way his lips were barely parted and eyes were hooded. What did he just say?
But he was right too. He wasn't as intolerant as you when it came to alcohol, so his senses were there more than yours were absent. Just a little bolder than his typical observant self. And of course, you end up blacking out some time after.
You awoke once again, this time at 1:25 a.m. exactly upon looking at the laminating analog clock, the same two mugs on the nightstand.
We should really dump those out now.
When should I text Jiwoo about the presentation?
You couldn't but think about your assignments again now that it was technically Monday, a feeling kin to fear beginning to settle.
Your head didn't hurt (thank fucking god) but you were laying on top of a firm body. You wondered how you both ended up in the bed anyways. You instantly began feeling around to make sure that-
"We didn't do anything, don't worry," His raspy voice startled you into sitting up slightly. He was laying on his back, arm draped behind his head, the other around your shoulders shifted to your mid-back upon you sitting up. He was changed into clothes suitable for sleep, you obviously having no recollection of him doing that.
It wouldn't be a lie if you didn't think it was odd that you two always ended up staring at each other in a daze. A silent plead for permission neither of you could figure out. It was comical and so cliche; two people navigating college life very differently end up falling for each other without being able to grasp it completely. Jeno was flawless in the eyes of the beholder, and he always would be.
A lazy, "Okay," was your response, a neutral and calm mood taking over the atmosphere in its heed. You settled back into him and let the aroma of his moisturizer waft through your nostrils.
He loved being close to you, loved giving his love to you even more. Absentmindedly tracing stars, hearts, and even your name on your back with the tips of his fingers, it was enough. Hearts beating shamelessly against each other, he breathed out in content- this is where he could be forever.
You didn't fight your heavy lids drooped once more and you welcomed the sleep, welcomed it all. He pulled the blankets over your bodies and shifted so you were both on your side. And he allowed you to subconsciously tangle your legs with his, a sigh of gratification from it.
Neither of you would figure out what didn't separate you for the rest of the night. One would guess it was the uncanny want and need for each other. It wasn't awkward nor suffocating. Souls moved in sync with each other, matching the others for a lifetime.
It was pure, unrefined love.
