Come ho scritto alcune settimane fa, nel Regno Unito c’è un bel progetto chiamato “TEN (10) YEARS TO SAVE THE WORLD”, che ha svariati punti in comune con il nostro “Anthropocene”. Dopo l’articolo di presentazione del 12 marzo 2021 ecco la presentazione dell’antologia, avvenute lo scorso 22 aprile in concomitanza con l’Earth Day e con il lancio dello speciale Anthropocene sul nostro web magazine.

2011-2020 was the warmest decade recorded, with global average temperature reaching 1.1°C above pre-industrial levels in 2019. Human-induced global warming is presently increasing at a rate of 0.2°C per decade. We are having our major climate summit in 2021…coined as COP26, the 26th UN Climate Change Conference at Glasgow, Scotland.

Its importance can be gauged from this profound statement that it is being hailed as “the world��s best last chance” to get the climate emergency under control – COP26 is the biggest, most important climate conference on the planet ever or if we cannot do it here, now then it is never…

John Doerr was moved by Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth and a challenge from his teenage daughter: “Dad, your generation created this problem. You better fix it.”...he reveals in his latest book "Speed & Scale" a sweeping action plan to conquer humanity’s greatest challenge: climate change.

Climate Change has never been higher on the public agenda because it’s increasingly being seen not just as an environment issue but one that affects our social and economic stability- our very existence; it is now an existential crisis.

We all need to play our part and contribute our bit in making the planet a better place and it all depends on us, it is now or never - building awareness to supporting in our own small way to the cause can make a big difference...

Did you see #DavidAttenborough's passionate speech at the opening ceremony of #COP26 🌍 World Leaders Summit in #Glasgow? 👏 He said all the right things and we sincerely hope that they were listening, really listening. 💚 . #RichardBrock worked with Sir David on many of his blockbuster wildlifefilms during his 35 years at the #BBCNHU, e.g. the groundbreaking #LifeOnEarth and #TheLivingPlanet series, but concerned by the lack of willingness to address the real current state of the #environment he left the #BBC and started his own independent production company, #LivingPlanetProductions, which has made over 100 films on a wide range of #environmental topics. His #WildlifeWinnersandLosers film series via us the #BrockInitiative has aimed at trying to reach those who have a direct impact and reaching those who can make the difference. He says “Showing the truth on some minority channel is not the answer. Showing it where it counts, is.” 🌎 . Thankfully the BBC and other broadcasters have turned a corner and are starting to tell the truth, which is most welcome. 👍 The question is, is it too little too late?
