DP x DC x DW crossover idea

Cadmus, using DNA samples of Superman and the Doctor that they’ve collected over the years, creates a Kryptonian/TimeLord clone hybrid. The clone, DNY-13, looks a lot like Superman while also having two hearts/binary vascular system. Sometime when the clone is about 4 or 5 he escapes from the lab. A portal to the infinite realms had opened up and the clone managed to wander into it without anyone noticing.

Clockwork, who’d opened the portal, was waiting on the other side for the clone. Clockwork then drops the clone off right outside the Fenton’s front door, rings the bell, and disappears. The Fenton’s find this tiny little toddler just standing on their front step and instantly fall in love with him. They bring him inside and look him over. He appears to be in perfect health, though the double heart beat is a bit odd. And he has a medical ID bracelet that declares him to be DNY-13, property of Cadmus, and the year of birth being almost thirty years in the future.

The Fenton’s decide to ignore the bracelet, cutting it off and hiding it away in one of their filing cabinets. They decide to name the tiny child, Danny, and quickly introduce him to his big sister Jazz. Danny grows up with the Fenton’s never knowing that he’s a clone hybrid of two different aliens. (Also in this au this is one of the reasons why Dani was so unstable when she was first created. Cause she was the clone of a clone that is half Kryptonian and half TimeLord. Something that Vlad didn’t know).

It isn’t until about five years after he becomes Phantom that he finds his old Cadmus medical ID bracelet in one of the filing cabinets in the ops center. He asks his parents about it and they finally tell him about how they found him on their doorstep when he was 4/5. Danny decides to consult Clockwork where he finds out that he was a clone created by Cadmus sometime in the future, and that Clockwork rescued him from them and gave him to the Fenton’s.

After finding this out, Danny decides to go searching for the two aliens who he was created from!

She’s Yours

I have no idea where this came from, also it’s the longest thing I have ever posted. But enjoy, and please reblog if you did!

”Donalds! Donalds!” Your three-year old squealed from the backseat as she saw the big yellow M. Usually, you weren’t the kind of mom to stuff your child full of junk food. But today was just one of those days. Being CEO for a  company and having a daughter to look after resulted in heavy shoulders and enough stress to last a life time.

You parked the car and went to unbuckle the giggling toddler. She was your princess. Dark brown curls put up in a ponytail, big green eyes framed by long eyelashes. She had your bright pink, plump lips, and the combination made her look as if she was taken directly from a movie

“Faster, mommy” she whined as you unbuckled her seatbelt, waving a pink teddy bear around.

“Look, all done. Let’s go now peaches”

You held your hand out and she wrapped hers around your index finger as she took a jump out of the car.

Another excited squeal escaped her lips as she landed steadily on the ground.

“Good girl” you smiled as you locked the door behind you and headed to the entrance.

As she saw the many slides from the playground in the building she stopped, mouth agape.

“Mommy, look! Slidies!”

You cringed slightly at her nickname for the slides before you gently pulled her away.

“You can play later baby, now we need to eat okay?”

She let out a disappointed sigh but did as she was told. Her mood soon disappeared as she looked up over the menus.

“I want the one with cheese! And potato sticks!”

You could not help but let out a laugh.

“Potato sticks? Baby do you mean fries?”

She wrinkled her nose, something she always did when she didn’t agree. It reminded you of someone.

“No I want potato sticks”

You shook your head slightly as you ordered a happy meal on the big screen.

“Then potato sticks it is”

“Do you want to pick a seat while mommy gets the food?”

The toddler nodded excitedly and went off to find somewhere to sit. You watched her hair bounce at her steps, her grey cardigan almost falling off. She waved happily to you as she sat down in a red couch. You waved back as you grabbed the food. As you sat down the tray in front of her her eyes went wide, and you realized that you really should take your daughter out more.

“A cheeseburger and potato sticks for the princess” you smiled as you opened the box.

She grabbed your food and placed it in front of you.

“Potato sticks and burger for mommy”

You raised an eyebrow at her, causing a giggle to escape.

“Thank you Elle”

You ate your food in peace, giggling and talking. She told you about Allie, her preschool teacher, that could do five cartwheels in a row. And Kelsey, her best friend that she made a bracelet with.

Elle took a bite out if her cheeseburger and you saw how a lump if ketchup fell out and landed on her burgundy dress.

“Estelle!”

She looked up to you, pouting while having her mouth full of food”

“Sorry mommy”

You were used to her constant spilling and clumsy behavior, and that was why the bigger part id her closet was just in darker colors.

You wiped it of as good as you could but let out a sigh as there still was a dark spot on her brand new dress.

”You little munchkin”

Elle just giggled and dipped her fries in the ketchup.

“I’m done”

You scanned over her plate to find only half a burger left on it.

“Okay, let me see your hands”

She held her small hands out and you wipes them off with a napkin.

“Now go play, mommy will just wait here okay?” You said with a smile and adjusted her dress, removing the cardigan as it was doomed to fall of. She shot you a smile and ran of to the other kids and you could not help but be happy. She really was a little princess, always so polite and almost never threw tantrums. But then again, the terrible twos was almost over.

You took another fry into your mouth and cleaned up on table before grabbing your phone. You answered some emails and scrolled through instagram, reading up on the latest gossip about the kardashians, and of course leaving a like on Chris Hemsworth’s latest post.

“Y/n?” A familiar voice said, and you felt the blood in your veins turn to ice.

“Yes?”

You turned your face around to face the tall brunette. He sent you a big smile as he leaned down to give you a hug. He smelled like cologne and coffee.

“Wow it’s been so long”

“Can I sit?”

He sent you a questionable look as he nodded to the now empty couch in front of you.

“How have you been?”

You smiled back at him, realizing how good he looked. He looked the same as he did when he was twenty, only more mature. A slight stubble clad his normally smooth cheeks. His chocolate eyes looked a bit tired, but still filled with love. His dark locks were hanging messily over his face, giving you the impression that he also had one of those days.

“Great, just busy with work and such. How about you? I heard the new album, it’s great Shawn”

He smiled as he took a sip of his coke. Dipping a fry in your ketchup.

“Thank you. I’ve been busy as well. Moving back to Pickering and all”

You shot him a look over the table, he loved Toronto, why would he just leave it?”

“You moved back to Pickering? Why?”

He shrugged his shoulders, putting another fry into his mouth.

“I’m always traveling and I realised that I wanted to spend more time with my family”

You nodded slightly.

“But you don’t live with your parents, right?”

Shawn let out a laugh.

“Oh god no. That would make me the only 25 year old who voluntarily moved back to his parents house”

“But no, I got an apartment only between toronto and Pickering. So I have close to both”

You giggled a little, thinking back to memories in his childhood home.

“What? What’s so funny?” He smiled.

“I just- do you remember that family union?”

His cheeks flushed red at the through and he ran a tattooed hand through his hair.

“The one where my aunt caught us making out in the basement?”

“Oh yes I remember. How could I ever forget?”

You were both full on laughing at this point. The embarrassment washed away long ago.

“Oh god that was really something”

You said, wiping a tear from the corner of your eye.

“I can’t believe it’s already been 4 years”

You looked up, meeting his eyes.

“I miss you Y/n. Everything was so much better when we were together”

His eyes were filled with regret and you felt the knot in your stomach growing by the second.

“I still love you”

Your eyes went wide and you stoppes breathing for a second.

“Mommy!”

A small voice said, dragging your sleeve.

“Mommy!”

You snapped out of your trans and turned to face your daughter. Feeling Shawn’s burning looks on the side of your face.

“Can you fix my dress? It’s weird” she whined and turned around, giving you access to close the open button.

“Okay peaches, all done” you answered, turning her around again. She gave you a smile before turning to Shawn, pointing to him with her little finger.

“Who’s that?”

Your eyes flickered between her and Shawn, both staring confused at you.

“Eh, um. Mommy’s friend baby, don’t worry about it. Now go play again”

You gave her a gentle push and on the contrary of what you wanted, she went up to Shawn. Breathing suddenly felt like a hard task.

“Hi mommy’s friend. I’m Estelle, but mama calls me Elle. Or munchkin, or peaches. Or when she’s mad at me she says ‘Estelle Aaliyah Y/l/n’. Because I have two names! How many do you have?”

Shawn’s face was draining of color, and he looked like he was going to pass out. He cleared his throat before leaning forward to talk to her.

“Two names huh? I have three”

Elle’s jaw dropped and she turned to you, green eyes almost glowing in awe.

“Three names?”

You smiled a little to her before she turned to Shawn again.

“You are so cool, what’s your names?”

“Shawn Peter Raul”

She blinked with her long lashes before scrunching her nose.

“Why did mommy only give me two?”

You giggled before tightening her pony tail a little.

“Now off you go peaches”

She looked at Shawn again, think about if she should ask him to play with her or not. Eventually she just shot him a smile and ran back to the playground.

There was an icy silence over the table. Your heart beat in what felt like 200 beats per minute and you didn’t dare to face Shawn.

“You have a daughter?”

The question was expected and you turned to face him again.

“Yes”

Shawn swallowed thickly before placing his elbows on the table.

“How old is she?”

“Three, soon four”

He pressed his hands over his mouth as he was thinking.

“That means- that…”

His eyes seemed to be searching for something, as they flickered over the table.

“She’s yours”

His eyes met yours. He furrowed his brows and rested his face in his hands.

“I have a daughter?” his voice was sharp, not loud but just harsh.

“I have a three year old daughter that I didn’t know about?”

You stared down at the table, being too ashamed to face him.

“I’m sorry Shawn, but after we ended I didn’t know how to tell you. You were on the other side of the globe for god’s sake. I was 19!”

“And I was 20!” he snapped.

“You know I would have gotten on the first plane home to you. Instead you made me miss everything! I never even had a choice!”

You felt it burn behind your eyes. He had every right to be mad, to be furious.

“I didn’t want to be in your way Shawn. You were on the top if your career! Everything was going so great in your life and I-I”

“You didn’t tell me that you were pregnant! You didn’t tell me that you were having my child!” He yelled, getting the attention of a few elders in the back.

You sighed and looked at him.

There were so many emotions hidden in those beautiful eyes of his. He was mad, angry and disappointed. And there was nothing you could do about it, the harm had already been done.

“I’m sorry Shawn. I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you about Estelle. But try to put yourself in my shoes.”

You took a deep breath, you’ve had this conversation so many times in your head before, but now everything was different. Now there really was a man demanding to know why you hid his child from him.

“You were this big superstar and I was just your girlfriend from Pickering, what do you think people would say about us, about me? Probably that I did it on purpose only so I could get access to your money, or that I somehow used this child to-“

“I couldn’t do it. And there has not been a day where I don’t regret it, cause I do. I regret robbing you of the chance of being a father and I regret robbing Estelle of having one. And yes, what I did was selfish and foolish. But I did it to protect myself and to protect her”

You looked over to the playground where Elle was running around chasing a blonde boy. She had a wide smile on her lips and it hit you how much she looked like her father. You had never thought about it like that before, hadn’t dared to compare them. But now you did.

“She’s all I have Shawn. She’s my princess”

Shawn was leaning back on the couch, hands cupped over his mouth and legs spread wide.

“I don’t want to talk about this in a McDonalds”

You nodded understandable.

“That’s okay. You can come to my place tonight if you want to”

The idea of having him in your life once again was both filled with happiness and sorrow. But he deserved an explanation.

“Yea- that’ll be, that’s be great” he stuttered, cheeks flustered.

You gave him a small smile as you yelled on Elle to come since you were leaving. She returned with a pout on her face, giving you her best puppy eyes.

“Nope, that’s not going to work biscuit”

She sighed and grabbed her cardigan.

Shawn stood up as well, getting ready to leave. His eyes were glued to his daughter. Probably noticing the similarities in their features. That he didn’t notice that before, the toddler was an exact copy of himself.  He sank back down on the sofa and you gave him a look, almost asking for permission to leave. He nodded slightly and you took your daughters hand, leading her out of the building.

As you were driving home, you tried to process the events of the day. As you were deep in your thought you were Interrupted by your daughter.

“Mommy?”

You glanced over in the rear view mirror.

“Yes baby?”

She thought for a second. Hugging the pink unicorn tight to her chest.

“Why don’t I have a daddy?”

You froze. The day kept getting better and better.

“What do you mean?”

She furrowed her brows.

“Mikey asked me what my mommy and daddy was called and when I said that I don’t have a daddy he said that it was weird because everyone else have one”

You swore quietly at the blonde boy.

“Well baby you have a daddy”

“Then where is he?”

You parked your car and unbuckled Elle.

“Your dad- he and mommy are not together”

She held your hand as you walked up the stairs to the apartment.

“I know mommy, I’m almost four”

Giggling you unlocked the door and removed her shoes.

“It’s complicated honey, you’re too young to understand these things” you tapped her nose playfully and kissed the top of her head.

“But-“

“Estelle, please. I’m too tired for this, okay?”

You felt a wave of guilt wash over you as you saw the disappointment in her eyes. With a sigh she went into her room to play with her toys.

You went straight to the kitchen and poured yourself a big glass of wine. You still remembered the day you watches the two lines appear on the stick. The fear that had came over you as a shock. You were so confused at the time, but there was one thing that you knew from the moment you noticed that your period was late. That life, Shawn’s life, was nothing you wanted your child to be a part of.

The evening was rather uneventful, a bowl of cereal was thrown on the floor followed by a giggling “Sorry mommy”.

“Sleep tight, love bug” you said and placed a kiss on her forehead. She wrapped her small arms around your neck and placed a wet kiss on your cheek.

“Goodnight mama”

You tucked her in before you got up and turned of the lights before slowly closing the door behind you.

It was 8 pm and there had been no word from Shawn. But you couldn’t blame him, there where probably so many emotions going through his mind at the moment. You sighed and took another sip of the now almost empty wine glass.

At 11:47 there was three hard knocks on your door. You paused the movie you were watching and went to open the door. Shawn stood outside, looking like a mess. Hair was all over the place, cheeks crimson and he had dark circles under his eyes. He smelled like alcohol and soap, an odd combination. His eyes raked over your body and you were reminded of the fact that you were only wearing a pair of shorts and a tank top, without a bra. You crossed your arms over your chest, trying to cover up a little as you leaned against the doorframe.

“Are you drunk?”

Shawn smirked a little, showing of his white teeth. He pressed his thumb and index finger together.

“Maybe a little”

You rolled your eyes as you opened the door wider, meaning for him to come in. The made some noise as he slammed the door shut and you placed a finger over you lips and hushed him.

“She’s sleeping”

He took a seat in the big couch and stared into the white wall.

“I’m really fucking mad you know”

He turned his head to look at you as you sat down on the side.

“I know”

“And you probably had a really fucking good reason, or that’s what I hope, but that was really fucked up y/n”

Shawn usually didn’t swear to much, but when he was drunk they came out like running water.

“And hell, I don’t even know what I’m going to do. I want to be a part of her life! But thanks to you I’ve missed the first four years of her existence”

You looked down, playing with the ends of the blanket.

“And I know you’re sorry and all that shit but it doesn’t help me”

His eyes were glossy and you could tell he was on the verge of crying.

“Like I don’t even know how to tell my fucking family about this, that I have a daughter?”

His voice broke of at the end and you wanted to comfort him somehow, wrap your arms around him and tell him how sorry you were. That you wished you could take back everything you had done.

“I’m her fucking father Y/n!” he yelled. Not seeing the little girl standing in the doorframe from her room.

“Mommy?”

The little voice made his head snap back to it. He stared at his daughter, wearing a pink pyjamas. Curls hanging loosely around her face but cheeks a slight pink from sleep. Her lazy eye was a bit more droopy than usual.

Shawn exhaled deeply as she moved closer, but not to you. Instead she walked up to Shawn, standing in front of him with her bunny dangling from her right hand.

“You’re my daddy?”

Her eyebrows were wrinkled and nose scrunched together.

Shawn was speechless, and he looked at you for support.

“Yes baby, that’s your daddy” you said, voice soft and silky.

Estelle and Shawn just looked at each other, both being stunned by the moment.

Shawn carefully opened his mouth to talk.

“Hi Estelle with two names”

She smiled big at him.

“Hi daddy with three names”

He flinched at the name before smiling softly at her.

Estelle carefully sat down next to her dad. She held up the old stuffed animal for Shawn to see.

“This is Bunny, mommy gave him to me when I was a baby. I can’t sleep without him”

She showed of her small front teeth as she looked up to met his eyes.

He gently grabbed Bunny from her hands and inspected it carefully.

“I had a Bunny when I was younger as well, his name was Mr. Carrot”

Elle giggled at the name as she gently pet the bunny.

“Mr. Carrot? That’s a funny name”

Shawn smiled back down at her.

“Yes, I guess it is. I got him from my mom because I had nightmares. She said that if I only hugged him all the bad dreams would go away and never come back. Mr. Carrot was magical like that, he could make all the bad disappear”

He looked at his daughter like she was the sun and he was the earth. And she looked at him just the same.

And just for a moment, it felt like everything was the way it’s supposed to.

If you think you have low blood sugar, be sure to check it.

Keeping your blood sugar levels on target as much as possible can help prevent or delay long-term, serious health problems. While this is important, closely managing your blood sugar levels also increases your chance for low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Blood sugar below 70 mg/dL is considered low. If you think you have low blood sugar, check it. If you aren’t able to check it, go ahead and treat it.

Untreated low blood sugar can be dangerous, so it’s important to know what to do about it and to treat it immediately.

The 15-15 Rule

For low blood sugar between 55-69 mg/dL, raise it by following the 15-15 rule: have 15 grams of carbs and check your blood sugar after 15 minutes. If it’s still below your target range, have another serving. Repeat these steps until it’s in your target range. Once it’s in range, eat a nutritious meal or snack to ensure it doesn’t get too low again.

The 15-15 Rule

If you have low blood sugar between 55-69 mg/dL, you can treat it with the 15-15 rule: have 15 grams of carbs. Check it after 15 minutes. Repeat if you’re still below your target range.

These items have about 15 grams of carbs:

4 ounces (½ cup) of juice or regular soda.

1 tablespoon of sugar, honey, or syrup.

Hard candies, jellybeans, or gumdrops (see food label for how much to eat).

3-4 glucose tablets (follow instructions).

1 dose of glucose gel (usually 1 tube; follow instructions).

Tips to keep in mind:

It takes time for blood sugar to rise after eating. Give some time for treatment to work. Following the 15-15 rule helps.

Young children usually need less than 15 grams of carbs, especially infants and toddlers. Ask your doctor how much your child needs.

You should avoid eating a carb with lots of fiber, such as beans or lentils, or a carb that also has fat, such as chocolate. Fiber and fat slow down how fast you absorb sugar.

Check your blood sugar often when lows are more likely, such as when the weather is hot or when you travel.

Treating Severely Low Blood Sugar

Blood sugar below 55 mg/dL is considered severely low. You won’t be able to treat it using the 15-15 rule. You also may not be able to check your own blood sugar or treat it by yourself, depending on your symptoms. Make sure your family members, friends, and caregivers know your signs of low blood sugar so they can help treat it if needed.

Injectable glucagon is the best way to treat severely low blood sugar. A glucagon kit is available by prescription. Speak with your doctor to see if you should have a kit. Be sure to learn how and when to use it. Let family members and others close to you know where you keep the glucagon kit and make sure they’ve been trained in how to use it too.

It’s important to contact a doctor for emergency medical treatment immediately after receiving a glucagon injection. If a person faints (passes out) due to severely low blood sugar, they’ll usually wake up within 15 minutes after a glucagon injection. If they don’t wake up within 15 minutes after the injection, they should receive one more dose. When the person is awake and able to swallow:

Feed the person a fast-acting source of sugar (regular soft drink or fruit juice).

Then, have them eat a long-acting source of sugar (crackers and cheese or a sandwich with meat).

It’s also important that friends, family, co-workers, teachers, coaches, and other people you may be around often know how to test your blood sugar and treat severely low blood sugar before it happens.

A medical ID, usually a bracelet or necklace, can be critical in keeping you safe and healthy. Emergency medical technicians are trained to look for a medical ID when caring for someone who can’t speak for themselves.

When To Call 911

If any of the following happens, your friend, relative, or helper should call 911:

You pass out and no glucagon is available.

You need a second dose of glucagon.

You had glucagon but are still confused.

Your blood sugar stays too low 20 minutes after treatment or doesn’t respond to your usual treatments.

Or call 911 anytime you are concerned about your severely low blood sugar.

After You Have Low Blood Sugar

If your low blood sugar was mild (between 55-69 mg/dL), you can return to your normal activities once your blood sugar is back in its target range.

After you have low blood sugar, your early symptoms for low blood sugar are less noticeable for 48 to 72 hours. Be sure to check your blood sugar more often to keep it from getting too low again, especially before eating, physical activity, or driving a car.

If you used glucagon because of a severe low (54 mg/dL or below), immediately call your doctor for emergency medical treatment. If you have had lows several times close together (even if they’re not severe), you should also tell you doctor. They may want to change your diabetes plan.

Know Your Numbers

If you continue to have low blood sugar episodes, share your blood sugar, insulin, physical activity, and food logs with your doctor. They may be able to identify patterns and help prevent lows by adjusting the timing and amount of your insulin, physical activity, and meals.

[Early Winter, 1979]

The idea of time travel had always been just that: an idea. Limited to the fantasy realm of a person’s imagination, and in some cases, brought to life on a television screen. For one small group of historians, it was an amusing topic of discussion for passing the time. That was...until today. He appeared out of nowhere, his appearance somehow both futuristic and old. Dark brown hair hung just below his jaw, and his beard was trimmed neatly, accenting the shape of his face. His half-rimmed glasses and the eyes they framed looked as if they had been made with mercury. On his fingers were three simple rings, each either silver or black. Inside his ears, however, was an odd looking device. Were they actually inside of his ear? “You seem confused,” he finally said. One historian, a man in his forties with salt and pepper hair, stood to face the stranger. “Who are you? Or what are you?” “Hmm…” He touched his lip with a crooked finger. “I am...a librarian of sorts,” he replied, content with his answer. “‘Of sorts’,” another historian scoffed, squinting his pale blue eyes as his demeanor grew more suspicious. “You have name, oh mighty ‘librarian of sorts’?” “Why don’t you just call me that? Librarian. My name isn’t important; I came here to give the people a tool, and your group seemed the most competent.” “‘Competent’? Compared to who?” a young woman asked, tucking her bright red hair behind her ear. “Other historians? Other librarians? Perhaps some other occupation altogether?” He smiled at her, clearly amused with her. “All very good questions, but all are irrelevant.” He waved his hand, motioning for a nearby crate. As if with a mind of its own, it moved towards Librarian. “Now, I want you all to come here and see this!” “What’s ‘this’...?” asked the woman as her and her colleagues hesitantly approached. “They say the best way to learn is through experience, yes?” “Yes, but-” “Consider this ‘experience’.” With a flick of his finger, the lid of the crate slid open. “The ability to travel through time itself in the palm of your hand.” The historians peeked inside the crate. Five camera-like objects were inside, along with three pairs of the odd ear pieces similar to what Librarian was wearing, and eight discs that resembled small magnets. Before they had time to register the items before them, they floated out of the box on a shelf, revealing more items below; toolkits and three tablets roughly the size of clipboards. The young lady gasped in awe, picking up the various tools and inspecting them. “Incredible,” she whispered, testing out the ear pieces. “They also act as adaptive hearing aids,” Librarian commented, smiling as she jumped in surprise. “Those will also allow you to keep in touch with the drones, as well as a variety of other things. The tablets have detailed instructions and descriptions of each item shown.” “And what if any of this is too complicated…?” the oldest of the group asked, experimentally turning one of the tools in his hands. “You just ask. They’ll be set up to respond to you, and you alone, whether by touch or by voice. More will come along in due time, but for now, these are enough.” “Are these cameras the drones?” the woman asked excitedly. “Yes, they are. In a moment, they will disperse and look for candidates.” “Candidates? For what?” “Your first time travelers,” he replied with a grin. “It isn’t wise for you yourselves to go through just yet. Not for any extended period. For now, let’s set up each device. If you please?” In mere moments, each person was equipped. “Now, all you’ll have to do is hold up your hand and say your name.” Librarian stepped out of the way. One by one, they held up their hands. “Richard O’Neil.” “Raymond Halford.” “Christine Knotts.” Each device made a little chirp, but when they turned to ask Librarian what to do next…he was gone. Vanished just as quickly as he’d arrived. Without another word, the group watched as the drones also began to float away. For a moment, they wondered how long it would take before they would ever see the little machines again…

[Early Spring, 1984]

Three years went by before they’d seen any of their drones return. The boys, in almost typical male fashion, had taken it upon themselves to handle two drones apiece. Richard had taken charge of the first two: “Spot” and “Runt”. Spot had picked up a little boy from a wealthy family, and Runt had found a little girl born to a teenager. Raymond, the second batch: “Penny” and “Shuffle”. Penny had located a young boy in a foster family, and Shuffle brought another boy from a recently divorced family. Which left Chris with “Dottie”, the drone that had taken the longest to arrive. And it had found a girl from a young family. Christine sighed as she made her way to the small apartment. “This the place, Dottie?” The invisible drone hovering nearby chirped. “Robin and Scott Hughes, huh...daughter’s name is April.” She sighed. “I really hope this one is as good as you’re making it sound.” Dottie beeped in an annoyed tone. “Look, all I’m saying is it took you five years to pick someone out. I’m just hoping she’s worth all the trouble. This project isn’t cheap, you know. If we don’t make decent results, we’ll lose everything.” And considering it was a government project, the stakes were much higher. Voyager is what the big wigs chose to call it, and they were nearly at the project’s climax. The plan was to have the five families spend five to ten years in an earlier period, dating as far back as the early 1800s. It would give them valuable data about their ancestors lives and lifestyle, as well as open up commercial opportunities later on, so long as this test proved successful. And as much as Chris didn’t want to admit it, she was grateful Dottie had taken so long with choosing someone; it had given her group valuable time to learn more about the tools they were using, and how to use them effectively. Granted, the actual act of travelling was still a problem. The magnet-like objects were the actual catalyst for time travel. “Gates”, Raymond called them. At first, they’d really only been good transporting one person at a time by...well, stepping. You picked a place, and stepped forward. Which resulted in a lot of falling off old sidewalks, nearly getting run over by carriages, a couple instances of dizziness and disorientation, and one near death experience on top of a building. Thankfully, Ray had some friends who understood coordinates, and she’d figured out that using multiple gates could create a working “doorway”. They’d also discovered that, if given specific instructions along with the coordinates, a person or group could be set down inside a certain level of a building. The dizziness was still a problem, since removing the physical step resulted in simply being “dropped” on the location, but it was a trivial issue. It was those breakthroughs that had gotten them funding to begin with, but it still wasn’t stable, and five years wasn’t nearly enough time to work out all the kinks. Power surges were the biggest issue, and those had proven to be…somewhat dangerous. Chris took a deep breath as she approached the Hughes’s front door. “Okay, let’s do this,” she said, firmly knocking on the door.

~6 months later~

Richard finished laying the last toddler down on the padded surface. Little April had been the last to fall asleep after having her information band put on...the child was a fighter. The last six months had been spent changing the children's sleep schedules, having them sleep during the day rather than at night. Their sponsors wanted to do the drop during the day, against the wishes of himself and the group. Frankly, he was ready for the whole thing to be underway. One less bit of anxiety to think about. Christine had been the fussiest of them all. Thanks to the fact that she only had one drone to handle, the sponsors decided it was her job to cover pretty much everything; from wardrobe, to housing, to quick tests on timed drops. She’d barely had time to come up with the drop order. “Relax, Chris. Everything will be fine,” Raymond said, trying to comfort her as he entered the delivery room. “We planned this out thoroughly. Kids first, parents second. It’ll be nighttime for them, so they won’t even know they’ve been moved.” “But we’ve barely tried applying actual changes in time, not just date. This just feels too risky.” “We’ve taken into account every possible outcome, Christine,” Richard said, agreeing with Raymond. “We even got extra generators ready to prevent a possible power surge. We’ll be fine.” With a heavy sigh, she double checked all of the ID bracelets on each child. “I still think we should have been given more time,” she quipped, pointedly looking in the direction of the sponsors conference room. Richard shook his head, tapping on the earpiece in his left ear. “Okay, we’ll begin transferring them soon. It’ll be instant; they won’t notice a thing.” The plan was to send the children all at once, followed by the parents, one couple at a time. With Ray’s go ahead, Richard, after giving his colleagues one final look, touched the button on his tablet.. In the blink of an eye, the children were gone. In that same blink...the building temporarily blacked out. “What the hell?” Ray muttered. Touching his ear piece, he blinked. “We...have a problem. A big problem.” “How big…?” Christine asked, fear in her voice. Richard felt the blood leave his face as he watched the rapid data dump flash in front of him. “We don’t know where they are…” Richard muttered. “What do you mean we don’t know where they are?” “As in they just fucking vanished, Knotts. You're getting the same data pour as we are!” “That's enough, Halford. We don't need to create any further tension. Legally, we have to announce this. Let's try and make this as painless as possible.” Ray huffed, but calmly made his way to the sponsor room. Christine, on the other hand, made her way to a nearby desk and began reading through her tablet. In short, the power had surged because they tried to send them all at once. In the span of a second, the order went through, they'd blacked out, and during reboot, the Voyager system scrambled to piece together the fragmented information. The only information available was a year and a side note about a ground landing. “We should have sent them in intervals…” “Looks like it...dammit.” It felt like mere seconds had passed before the pounding on the delivery room door started. Christine looked at Richard, tears threatening to spill over in her eyes. “What do we do now…?” “We find them. But first...let’s handle this.” He took a deep breath as he made his way to the door, trying desperately to scramble together some decent explanation for the parents now shouting on the other side.
