I just think there’s something incredibly special about being a mage Hawke romancing Anders. All of the other companions find the mage plight annoying at the best of times and WRONG in the worst of times. Hearing their banter HURTS me sometime because hey… you’re saying all mages deserve to have Meredith imprison them because they’re all weak?? IM one of those mages you’re talking about! You think tranquility is fine? That’s ME you’re talking about??

The only one consistently fighting, consistently seeing mages as good and PEOPLE is Anders.

He’ll fight by putting his very life on the line for our freedom. Hawke is willing to throw away his home and be on the run again for their freedom.

I just think that’s really beautiful and really special.

In light of the recent Nintendo boycotts, I come bearing a gift

I'll copy/paste a message I've been sharing in discord servers

If you like Nintendo games but hate the company, today's your lucky day

This is totally illegal and you absolutely shouldn't do it because its wrong, so I'm gonna tell you exactly what to do so that you guys know not to do it!

You guys absolutely should not download Azahar Nintendo 3DS emulator and then go onto Citra-emulator.com to find old Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS games and then open the games through Azahar for to play free, including Tomodachi life, ACNH, The Sims 3, Nintendogs + Cats and Flipnote Studio.

You really shouldn't do this stuff its its illegal but if you did it, it would totally work and no one could stop you. Also I work in tech and virus scanned random files and they all came up clean so its safe but its still illegal don't do it................. (But you totally could and no one would stop you)

The Citra emulator doesn't work because the dev got hit with a lawsuit. He went on to work on Azahar. They say not to do this for legal protection, but it fully works.

As far as I know, these games do not have piracy barriers EXCEPT Tomodachi Life (A large red cross over the character faces). I have a debug file that fixes this. If you guys come across another game that has a barrier let me know and I'll search for a debug

https://citra-emulator.com/ Scroll all the way up to "3DS ROMS". There is an incomplete but still extensive collection of games, both Japanese and English titles as well as Pokemon ROM hacks

On Windows, place the game files on your desktop and open them. It will ask you what app you want to open the file with. Choose "Select app on PC", search for Azahar and select it then press "okay"

(I'm not 100% on the process for Linux and Mac but I'm sure they're similar. On Android I know for certain they are)

You'll know if it works because the game icons will switch from a paper file to the Azahar flower

Once you see these flowers, you are all set and ready to play!

And here is the error fix for Tomodachi life. Download this file and open it like normal. It will ask you what app you wish to open it with. Open it with Azahar.

Don't panic! A lowkey scary looking dialogue box will pop up for a moment and text will very quickly load onto it. This is Azahar reading the file and saving the commands. It will very quickly close itself. Once that window closes itself, you're all set to open Tomodachi Life and play like normal!

I can't name a single person who lives here that does not either hate it and is stuck or has the idea that this country is the best country to exist and we should be proud to live in it. We, as Americans, are tearing both each other and this country apart by being so separated in our ways, and dividing ourselves into two very different groups. Yes, this is about politics being bipartisan. Politics tear this country apart, but no one wants to talk about it because everyone is stuck in their ways.

I am back at it again with big feelings but this time it’s about Justice.

I see a lot of stuff about how Anders’ rage corrupted Justice and made him an angry version of Vengeance BUT… Justice is already angry.

I’m playing Awakening and just finished the Blackmarsh area and oh my god this man is ANGRY when you meet him. His voice is dripping with rage and he even admits that finding this place in the Fade, seeing these people trapped made him SEETH with anger. It’s no wonder that he would grow angrier and angrier in a place like Kirkwall that’s brimming with injustice. That wasn’t Anders’ rage, that was Justice’s natural response to what was going on!

Sure, there’s probably a bit of an echo chamber in their head, passing their anger back and forth, amplifying it. But you can’t say Anders corrupted Justice when that spirit was already filled with these feeling before they merged.

Also… watching this spirit of Justice find that the moral realm and mortals themselves hold beauty? That might be one of my favorite character growth arcs 🥺 he’s angry at injustices but soft at the most *human* things. In this house we stan Justice.

The way I'm actually crying tears of joy is insane.

I've been dealing with this since I was 15. I would bleed until I passed out. My cervix would dialate up to two centimenters just to pass chunks of flesh. I have constant on and off anemia. I have reduced mobility in my abdomen that gets stiffer and more painful each year. I cant experience any sexual penetration before or after my period without pain and nausea/vomitting. A telltale sign of my period coming soon is severe fatigue, a craving for electrolytes and iron, and pelvic pain that radiates into numbness in my thighs.

And yet, despite agreements from multiple doctors and family that this stems from a nasty case of endo, I couldn't get "officially" diagnosed because my only choices were a cervical biopsy (which has no anesthesia covered by insurance) or a laparoscopy. I chose to take birth control and hang my head low in defeat.

Its gotten worse. I've been taking birth control since it was suspected and despite it I feel myself inching back to how I was before. My gods please dont stop here please. I just want to live a normal life again. I dont want to be reminded every few weeks that I have an uncurable disability that a lot of people still believe doesn't even exist. But this opens a large, hopeful double-door. My gods please please dont stop yet please. I'm so grateful for this nonetheless

"A medical technology company in Australia is aiming for a world-first: it wants to launch a blood test for endometriosis (sometimes called 'endo' for short) within the first half of this year [2025].

In a recent peer-reviewed trial, its novel test proved 99.7 percent accurate at distinguishing severe cases of endometriosis from patients without the disease but with similar symptoms.

Even in the early stages of the disease, when blood markers may be harder to pick out, the test's accuracy remained over 85 percent.

The company behind the patent, Proteomics International, says it is currently adapting the method "for use in a clinical environment," with a target launch date in Australia for the second quarter of this year [2025].

The test is called PromarkerEndo.

"This advancement marks a significant step toward non-invasive, personalized care for a condition that has long been underserved by current medical approaches," managing director of Proteomics International Richard Lipscombe said in a press release from December 30.

Endometriosis is a common inflammatory disease that occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows in other parts of the body, forming lesions. The disease can be very painful, and yet the average patient often suffers debilitating symptoms for up to seven years before they are properly diagnosed.

While there are numerous reasons for such a long delay, symptoms of endometriosis are often highly variable, unpredictable, difficult to measure or describe, and dismissed or overlooked by doctors.

Today, the only definitive way to diagnose endometriosis is via keyhole surgery called a laparoscopy, which is expensive, invasive, and carries risks.

Proteomics International is hoping to change that.

In collaboration with researchers at the University of Melbourne and the Royal Women's Hospital, the company compared the bloodwork data from 749 participants of mostly European descent.

Some had endometriosis and others had symptoms that were similar to endo but without the lesions. All participants had a laparoscopy to confirm the presence or absence of the disease.

Sifting through the bloodwork, researchers ran several different algorithms to figure out which proteins in the blood were best at predicting endometriosis of varying stages.

Building on previous research, a panel of 10 proteins showed a "clear association" with endometriosis.

For years now, scientists have investigated possible blood biomarkers of endometriosis to see if they could differentiate between those who have endo and those who do not. Similar to cancerous tumors, endo lesions can establish their own blood supply, and if cervical cancer can be diagnosed via a blood test, it seemed possible that endometriosis could be, too...

Proteomics International claims patents for PromarkerEndo are "pending in all major jurisdictions," starting first in Australia.

It remains to be seen if the company's blood test lives up to the hype and is approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). But that's not outside the realm of possibility.

In November of 2023, some researchers predicted that a "reliable non-invasive biomarker for endometriosis is highly likely in the coming years."

Perhaps this is the year."

Note: As someone with endometriosis, let me say that this is a HUGE deal. The condition is incredibly common, incredibly understudied, and incredibly often dismissed. Massive sexism at work here.

I got very lucky and got diagnosed after about 6 months of chronic pain (and extra extra lucky, because my pain went away with medication). But as the article says, the average time to diagnosis is seven years.

Being able to confirm endometriosis diagnoses/rates without invasive surgery will also lead to huge progress in studying/creating treatments for endo.

And fyi: If you have a period that is so painful that you can't stand up, or have to go home from school/work, or vomit, or anything else debilitating (or if any of those things apply if you forget to take pain meds), that is NOT NORMAL, and you should talk to a competent gynecologist asap.
