Begging people to watch scavengers reign, I haven’t felt this strongly about a tv show in a while.
Seriously, if you like pretty art and animation, horror, and speculative biology, this is your show

I didn’t let hand-drawn animation die for good
With Snipple Animation in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines being the main animation studio for my future projects, I will use 8 additional animation studios. Double Plus Productions & Renegade Animation in Glendale, California, Creative Capers Entertainment in Altadena, California, Studio Yotta in Vancouver, Washington, Tonic DNA in Montreal, Canada, Yowza! Animation in Toronto, Canada, Titmouse, Inc. in Vancouver, Canada & Brazen Animation in Richardson, Texas. Oh! & one more thing, Toon City in Manila don’t do overseas animation work for Cartoon Network shows ether.

The Animation Guild Announces Unionization Efforts At Warner Bros. And Cartoon Network
EDIT: Because people are misreading this, please note: it is animation production workers specifically who are joining the pre-existing TAG (The Animation Guild) union.
Animators and animation writers are already covered under TAG. This news story is specifically about WB animation production workers.
News story text:
"Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network production workers are attempting to unionize with The Animation Guild (TAG).
A petition was filed with the National Labor Relations Board today requesting a union election. The petition includes 66 staffers at Warner Bros. Animation and 22 at Cartoon Network, including roles like production manager, digital production assistant, IT technician, production coordinator, production assistant, design production coordinator, assistant production manager and senior assistant production manager.
They are involved in such Warner Bros. projects as Batman: The Caped Crusader, Harley Quinn and Teen Titans Go! and Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, We Baby Bears and Craig of the Creek.
The workers also requested voluntary recognition from management at the Warner Bros. Discovery subsidiaries.
A tweet was issued confirming the move, which was officially announced earlier on a joint Zoom call.
“Although many might not think it, production is a specialized skill; we might not be artists or writers, but what we bring to the table goes beyond traditional creativity and gets content on the air,” Warner Bros. Animation production manager Hannah Ferenc said in a statement about the organization effort. “Having lived through the existing state of the animation industry for the past seven years, I want to make sure that not only our current workers, but all those who choose to join us in the future, can feel secure in following their passion by earning livable wages and being treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.”
The Animation Guild has already established bargaining units on shows like Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites, The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad!  It also is active at studios like Titmouse New York and L.A. and ShadowMachine. Establishment at Walt Disney Animation Studios is currently in progress."

The Animation Guild has succeeded in its bid to establish a union in Texas. Austin-headquartered Powerhouse Animation Studios (Castlevania, Sonic Frontiers: Divergence) has voluntarily recognized a bargaining unit of 129 artists and production workers that sought to join the IATSE Local, the union announced on Thursday. TAG first started unionizing animation studios outside of L.A. County in 2022 with its push at Harriet the Spy studio Titmouse New York, but its new union at Powerhouse Animation marks its first in a so-called “right-to-work” state.

For those who like a peek behind the curtains of animation production:
This is a scene I worked on for episode 4 of The Legend of Vox Machina season 3. I did the storyboards, Eugene Lee directed the episode and the editors put together the final animatic you see above (did some re-editing, added music and sound effects). As you can probably tell, the audio is temp track with a mixture of Luis Carazo and Travis Willingham doing the voice of Zerxus . There were some line edits late into the animatic stage, so Travis recorded a temporary track before they brought Luis back to re-record the lines for the final animation edit.
In regards to the Calamity flashback panels: I pitched to Travis and Sam (the show runners) the idea of keeping the stained-glass motif from the original Calamity portraits. They loved the idea! I'm obviously not a stained-glass designer/artist, so the boards are super rough hahaha. The Art department of Titmouse took the core ideas from the boards and made the final images 10000 x prettier!
I'm super glad the fans enjoyed that part of the episode! I hold this scene very close to my heart <3
Here are some other shots of Zerxus that never made it into the final animation:

And some rough boards for reference (which also got cut early on and/or changed by the time I cleaned up the panels):

I'm happy to answer questions about the behind the scene, just drop me a comment!
See you on my next making of post: The bathtube scene! U3U

I got the go ahead to share my boards. It'll be out of order. This is one of several of my episode 304 sequences from the Legend of Vox Machina: Season 3 storyboards. Boarding to Ashley Johnson's performance is always a treat for me, I am such a fan of her work, and I wanted to deliver.
These are my boards Pre-revisions pass, (pre-lock) as will be for all my future boards. Some parts, may differ from the final release. *
This episode was so much fun, and a neat challenge to be part of boarding a card game with stakes. Directed by Eugene Lee, who was our Episodic Director, and such a great guide along with Sung Jin. Thank you guys for your trust and your wisdom, always. I learned so much this season and your kindness and understanding during a tough time in my life was met with the most respect and time I needed.
It was cool to do some Calamity related work with the voice talent of Luis Carazo as Zerxus Ilerez.
My fellow and incredibly talented, Team Flesh Tree, from this episode from which our Team name was born! Isa Chaves, Jack Anderson, and Aki Yun.
Fellow board artists: Erin Won, Siae Jung, Bryan Pak, Marvin Britt, William Rowe, Cassey Kuo
And revisionist team at the time: Mary Thompson, Meg Howes, Book Jackson, Harim Oh (apologies if I missed anyone it has been a long while)
My fellow amazing directors Karen Guo & Young Heller.
Our art director Arthur Loftis, viz dev, Ed Vargas, Arthur Tang, our character design lead, Phill Bourassa, CG Lead Eddie Gonzales, Compositing lead Todd Raleigh. And another huge, shout out to everyone on the series in Production and art department this season, colour design, bg design, paint, character design, editorial, wanna tag you all, but please accept a general mention. Production Reve. The episode came out amazing, thanks for giving us your incredible animation power! Titmouse inc, our EPs Travis Willingham, Sam Riegel, Brandon Auman
