Here's the 5th piece in my Monsterverse Gijinka series, depicting Titanus Kong! This represents Kong during the events of GxK, so he still bears the scars of his battle against Gojira, and wields his battle axe and his new Beast Glove~ I wanted to go for somewhat of an Iwi look, the warriors of the Skull Island tribe being adorned with yellow markings I gave him a lone shackle, a reminder of a time when the King was a captive, and to nod to the recurring theme of Kong in chains Hope you all like this design for the King of the Hollow Earth~

GvK Quote: Page 182
Ok, I know I got my delusional shipper glasses on when I read this part. Because all I could think about was, "Kong would definitely be in denial if he ever got a crush on Goji and would be very mad about it."
Anyway, here's Kong's first impression on Godzilla.
"The shape of the enemy was like nothing he had ever seen, much less fought; but just the scent of the creature made him angry, and everything about it fit into a hollow spot inside of him, as if something had been taken out long ago and left empty until now.
He would have let it be. He had no interest in it; it did not threaten his island and those he protected. Why should he care about it or what it did?
But it had come for him, come when he was helpless. And for that, he wanted to break it, tear off its limbs, suck the meat from its bones.
But it was bigger, stronger than anything he had ever known. It made him feel things he did not understand and did not want to understand." - Pg 182

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire - My Edition - Titanus Tiamat
Tumblr media
Now despite knowing full well why Godzilla killed Tiamat…
youtube
Thanks to this video by Goji Center…
I feel that Tiamat had some missed opportunity for her first appearance on the big screen. So in my edition of The New Empire, I decided to give Tiamat some character development. Hey, even titans need character development at times.
Now Tiamat’s first appearance in my edition of The New Empire is in the Amhuluk VS Tiamat scene I explained in an earlier post. However, Tiamat doesn’t fully leave the arctic. Instead, she only leaves the ice lair far away enough to where Amhuluk thinks she fully left.
Later, when a supercharged Godzilla arrives and fights the now-more powerful Amhuluk, Tiamat watches the whole battle from a nearby hidden spot. Upon seeing Godzilla using his supercharged atomic breath to absolutely destroy Amhuluk, Tiamat comes to the realization that if she wants to live, she’d better not get on Godzilla’s bad side again, especially since she just whitenessed Godzilla’s power.
Later, after Evolved Godzilla leaves the ice lair, Tiamat enters the lair to heal her wounds from her battle with Amhuluk.
Tiamat’s next appearance is in Egypt, and at that point she’s fully healed and out of nowhere, she sprays her acidic phosphorus ink point blank in the face of a Skull Crawler before it possibly kills Mothra. Tiamat quickly dispatches the blinded Skull Crawler by using the combined strength of her jaws and four paddle-like appendages to rip off the Skull Crawler’s head. After the attacking Skull Crawlers are terminated, Godzilla looks at Tiamat with surprise and uncertainty, but Mothra tells the G-Man that Tiamat saved her life and wants to help in order to prove her newfound respect and loyalty to the alpha titan of the surface world.
Tiamat joins Godzilla, Kong and Mothra in heading to the Hollow Earth to fight Skar King, his army, Shimo and Camazotz. Tiamat joins Mothra in fighting Camazotz, the Red Stripes and Skull Crawlers while Kong fights Skar and Godzilla fights Shimo. When the gravity is reverted to normal, Tiamat falls through the portal that leads to Rio with Godzilla, Mothra, Kong, Skar, Shimo, Camazotz and Skull Crawlers.
In Rio, Tiamat emerges from the frozen ocean with Godzilla and Mothra, though Tiamat uses her acidic phosphorus ink to melt her way through the ice. As the two alpha titans take on Skar, Shimo and Camatoztz, Tiamat helps Mothra in terminating the Skull Crawlers and she even helps in fighting Skar and Camazotz at times, especially when Godzilla is overwhelmed by Skar & Shimo and when Kong is overwhelmed by Camazotz. After Suko destroys the crystal using Kong’s axe, Tiamat is flown back from the corpse of the last Skull Crawler by the shockwave of the crystal’s destruction. As Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, Tiamat and Shimo begin to physically beat down Skar King, Tiamat’s turn is where she coils her body around Skar’s body, locking his arms to his sides as her razor fins cut into his body from all sides. On top of that, Tiamat sprays her acidic phosphorus ink point blank into Skar’s face, blinding him before Mothra jabs her stinger full force and speed into Skar’s left eye. Tiamat then unwraps her body from Skar’s body so fast that she flings the red ape into the air and smacks him at Shimo who delivers another home run with her tail at Kong. After Skar is destroyed by Shimo’s frost breath and Kong’s smashing the red ape into pieces, Tiamat watches as Godzilla uses his evolved atomic breath to dispatch and destroy the ice age above.
After everything settles down and is resolved, Tiamat doesn’t return to the North Pole. Instead, she finds a new underwater cave system to settle and rest. And on top of that, due to her role in helping Godzilla and saving both Earth and Hollow Earth from Skar King’s reign of tyranny, Monarch reclassifies Titanus Tiamat from destroyer status to protector status.
And that’s Tiamat’s involvements in my edition of The New Empire. And yes, I’ll go over the battles of Egypt, Hollow Earth and Rio in future posts, so stay tuned.

Titan History: Godzilla & Kong (Updated)
Welcome once again to Monarch: After Dark, the digital gateway between you and the organisation dedicated to understanding and navigating this troubled new world we live in.
We return (somewhat) to our usual content on the platform following our sadly disastrous interview with Bernie Hayes, with the winner of our recent poll! Godzilla and Kong were the first two Titans covered on the platform, and quite a few things have happened to both Titans since the most recent Titan crisis.
Given the limited data we have on hand regarding these updates, specifically in regard to Kong as much of what transpired with him took place away from any human observation, we have decided to compile the updates onto a single entry, and will provide links to the original entries for easier access.
Original "Titan History" Godzilla Post
Original "Titan History" Kong Post
We'll start with Godzilla, as more data is known to Monarch regarding events surrounding him, and thus there is more to talk about in regard to him.
-----
Monarch Database File: Godzilla
Tumblr media
(Pictured above: Monitor tracking Godzilla's movements, showing his trajectory toward France, circa. 2027)
In 2027, Godzilla was roused by a series of reactor beacons set up by hunter Raymond Martin, to keep the Alpha Titan distracted so that he wouldn't become privy to Martin's secret Titan Hunter mecha. Godzilla would not be the only Titan drawn to the decoys, as Scylla was similarly awakened and began travelling across the world to feast on various sources of nuclear energy.
Failing to get ahead of Scylla for sometime, Godzilla finally cornered the Titan in Rome after she had gathered a great deal of nuclear energy. Following a brief clash, Godzilla gained the advantage after throwing Scylla onto her back, jumping on top of her and stabbing her with her own limbs before killing her with a point-blank blast of his atomic breath.
Roused again by a telepathic call for help from the Iwi people of Malenka, Godzilla would take a que from Scylla and go on his own globe-trotting rampage in pursuit of acquiring more power. Leaving his new resting place of Rome, Godzilla would attack France and consume the radiation from a nuclear power plant, before dispatching military forces with an electromagnetic pulse, a new ability that Godzilla had not previously demonstrated.
Tumblr media
(Pictured above: Godzilla engaging Tiamat in battle, moments before executing her, circa. 2027)
Godzilla would then approach a natural radiation hotspot in the Arctic Ocean, current domain of the Titan Tiamat. Godzilla opened a hole in Tiamat's lair to draw her out, and dismembered her with his atomic breath following a brief tussle. Godzilla would then retreat into Tiamat's lair and absorb the entirety of the hotspot's reserves (as well as some of Tiamat's DNA), rapidly mutating into an "evolved" form that would grant him the advantage in the coming conflict he was sensing.
Provoked by Kong's return to the surface following Monarch assistance, the two Alpha Titans would clash in Egypt. While Kong's new B.E.A.S.T. Glove accessory allowed him to fight on even ground, Godzilla would again gain the advantage and attempt to kill Kong. The timely arrival of Malenka's guardian Mothra calmed Godzilla down and convinced him to ally with Kong.
The trio would return briefly to Hollow Earth in an attempt to intercept the Skar King (an evil ape-like Titan sealed within Hollow Earth by Godzilla in the past) and his army before they could reach the surface. Their battle would be taken from the Hollow Earth to Rio, Brazil (which had only recently recovered from Behemoth's rampage in 2019), where Godzilla would battle the Skar King's enslaved Titan mount Shimo, while Kong dealt with the Skar King himself.
Tumblr media
(Pictured above: Godzilla grappling with Shimo, circa. 2027)
The battle would continue until a smaller ape-like Titan that Kong had apparently taken under his wing destroyed a crystal that the Skar King was using to control Shimo. Freed, Godzilla would watch as Shimo froze the Skar King solid and Kong shattered his body. Godzilla would use his empowered atomic breath to disperse the clouds Shimo had generated, before returning to Rome and claiming a colosseum as his new home.

Monarch Database File: Kong
Tumblr media
(Pictured above: Kong preparing to strike Godzilla with a B.E.A.S.T. Glove-augmented punch, circa. 2027)
Much of Kong's activities post-Mechagodzilla are unknown. Despite Monarch Outpost One being established to monitor his activities, Kong was largely left to his own devices and allowed to explore the Hollow Earth on his own. It was known that Kong was responsible for destroying Raymond Martin's Titan Hunter, after it had attempted to kill two Spineprowler cubs.
In 2027, Kong briefly returned to the surface in Barbados to seek medical assistance for an infected tooth. Titan veterinarian Travis "Trapper" Beasley removed the tooth and replaced it with a metallic tooth made from the same material as Monarch's H.E.A.V. transports.
After returning to the Hollow Earth, Kong would find an entrance to a subterranean realm, where he would encounter a young ape that he would later befriend, and be lead to the Skar King's domain. Once there, Kong was attacked by the Skar King's Titan slave Shimo, and his arm was badly wounded with frostbite. Kong and the young ape would find their way to Malenka, where Trapper would outfit Kong with a B.E.A.S.T. Glove, part of the scrapped Project Powerhouse constructed from Mechagodzilla's remains.
Tumblr media
(Pictured above: Godzilla, Mothra and Kong roaring in unison, teaming up to battle the Skar King, circa. 2027)
Under Jia's suggestion to find help against the Skar King, Kong returned to the surface world in Egypt and signalled a challenge to provoke Godzilla into coming for him. His efforts to communicate to Godzilla that they should go to Hollow Earth fell short, and he was forced to do battle. While his new augmentation allowed him to fight on mostly even ground, and a fully-charged punch proved powerful enough to knock Godzilla out in a daze for a few seconds, Kong was once again outmatched by Godzilla's primal strength.
Mothra's arrival and intervention spared Kong from death, and the three Titans ended up joining forces. Retreating to the Hollow Earth, the trio engaged the Skar King's army in an effort to stall their arrival to the surface. Skar King, Shimo, Godzilla and Kong would surface in Brazil and continue their brawl to halt the Skar King's attempt to use Shimo to trigger a new Ice Age.
Kong and the Skar King fought whilst Godzilla kept Shimo at bay. The battle took a turn when the young ape Kong had befriended used Kong's axe to destroy a crystal that the Skar King was using to control Shimo. His hold over the frost Titan lost, Kong held the Skar King in place long enough for Shimo to freeze him solid. Kong then shattered the Skar King's body, watched as Godzilla dispersed Shimo's clouds, and returned to Hollow Earth with Shimo and the youngster in two.
-----
And that's all she wrote for Godzilla and Kong...for real this time! Of course, once these Titans see action again, we will come back to them and provide whatever updates are needed, but for now, Godzilla enjoys dormancy in Rome while Kong has most likely returned to the apes in the Skar King's domain, now no longer the last of his kind.
Until next time,
Monarch: After Dark

NGL but...
Since this month is MerMay (I was hoping to draw Mermaid!Mothra, but I'm running out of time 😭), I have a crazy idea running my mind...
P.S. This might be the most funniest (shittiest) Kongzilla fic IDK why I should pull this...🙃
So it starts here...
What if after Godzilla consumes a lot of Tiamat's radiation on her lair and after a battle between the icy grandma and the bald tyrant son-of-a-bitch together with Kong on his side and went home to his coliseum to sleep, he woke up the next day finding his lower half of his own body is replaced by Tiamat's other half of her body?!?!
Now I imagine himself struggling to get up, even destroying half of the human population and the buildings before he managed to reach the sea and swims deeper and guess what? HE FUCKING SWEARS FOR ABOUT WHOLE HOURS.
Tiamat's (and even Scylla's) spirit is seen laughing her (their) ass off because she believes that Tiamat's lair might have laid "a curse" on his act for handing over her lair and the radiation reserves, and an attempt murder yeeesh. Godzilla can't sense because they were dead duh.
Then Godzilla travels back to his old home and goes into one of the Hollow Earth's portal in order to stop this "abominational curse".
Once there, he met Suko while on a hunting trip looking for food. The little ape was flabbergast yet he even laughed at him before Godzilla threatens him to incinerate or his kind, so Suko reluctantly guides the King of the Monsters to the newly built place for the Great Apes where Kong - now King Kong - is their new leader.
Once there, Kong was shocked to see him in his "not so normal state". Most of the Apes are seen snickering while others cannot hold on their laughters, and a few were scared because of his past actions that happened during the war of his and Skar King's history.
While even Kong cannot help but feel empathy of his former-enemy-turned-friend, he decided to seek Mothra out for help. He leaves his kind behind with only Suko and Shimo to guard them down while the two are travelling miles away.
There will be some scenes like Godzilla 'trips' himself right in front of Kong's chest, and Kong was like "WTF bro?! Why're you looking at me?!"; the two eating from their meals they had just hunting down and when their hands touched one another from trying to get that food, they stared like few minutes before breaking their sight out; Kong soothing Godzilla down after having nightmares of his father's death from the MUTOs; both talking about their lives from worse to better; friendship stronger; Godzilla admiring the Hollow Earth and how Mothra had fully evolved into her Rebirth form; etc.
Slowburn Kongzilla was there...
As the two reached from the Iwi borders, Mothra appears to them in the crystal-like temple (Jia, Ilene Andrews, the Iwi Queen, Trapper and Bernie were there; and I cannot imagine about them were flabbergasted about Godzilla's sudden appearance). Godzilla was happy to see her, and Mothra reveals that Tiamat's power has something to do with his form changing. The only way to break out this abominational curse is to "profess your former enemy's self-hatred."
Well, Godzilla already knew that, he cannot but least he told Mothra that he loved her very much, and the moth half-jokingly tells him he is BISEXUAL, I swear Godzilla dislikes that because he is a STRAIGHT MAN, but Mothra knew it otherwise because she can read his mind.
So anyway, Godzilla leaves, but Kong and Mothra follows him. Then there will be arguments, and Godzilla finally had enough. He confessed his feelings for Kong, and Kong was stood still in silence, but he feared about the Queen of the Monsters and Defender of the Iwi Tribe will beat him. However, Mothra never shows anger, but was simply proud about regaining their friendship and allied one another, most of all, feelings~
So the two male Alphas held their hands each other, finally professing their love...and THEY KISS~
...And Godzilla woke up with a loud scream, finding himself back to his cozy 'bed'. Mothra was there cuddling to her husband and just woke up from his scream. Then the King checks himself and his body, only to find out he's back to his normal body. He is happy yet scared about that shit until his wife calms him down, saying it's just a dream and nothing else. Godzilla couldn't help but feels his guts wanted to vomit out butterflies all because he will NEVER EVER gonna accept the fact about his relationship to Kong...
When Mothra falls asleep, Godzilla couldn't help but feels something was off to his matters.
"...Maybe this dream wasn't so real after all...or Kong's not really bad too."
THAT'S ALL FOR KONGZILLA SHORT FIC. 🤫

Kong's father
Tumblr media
Kong's father was the alpha and leader of the tribe, a stoic and brutal leader but cares deeply about protecting his family. While other see this terrifying behemoth his mate sees more his softer side.
Kong's mother

A fierce warrior but at the same time very nurturing. She would act as a care taker for the younger titanus kongs. She also very judging when you first meet her

I didn't hate Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, honestly it was awesome!
I just got done watching it so I'm still digesting it, but here are my initial thoughts. Any potential spoilers will go under a break.
I went into GxK that it would be similar to GvK and the other Monsterverse films: big monkey hit big lizard, big lizard breathe laser, big monkey block laser with big axe, and so on. And don't get me wrong, it definitely was all that, all pro wrestling but with big monsters, but in a cooler way than what I thought. I'm still trying to figure out what all made GxK more than what I was expecting, but I think this is the main bit.
In today's media, there seems to basically be two options. Either you make a show on streaming, which means your seasons are too short so you have to sacrifice character to plot. Or you make a two to three hour long movie, which uses a big budget to explain either characters or concept, hopefully with something of a plot to tie it together.
But GxK is a secret third thing. Worldbuilding. Adding to lore. Letting the landscapes they paint and the creatures that inhabit them speak for themselves. There were long stretches of screentime where the titans weren't necessarily fighting, they were just doing their thing, exploring their worlds.
Now obviously we need some humans to A, be able to connect to the story some, and B, know what is actually going on. Because while I would love a completely dialogue kaiju movie, the concepts and gimmicks of the Monsterverse just get too convoluted to figure out without Exposition Lady.
I can confirm that Legendary realized that the less human characters they have the better. The cast was relatively small, and while character development was minimal, they did make me feel some feelings toward some of the humans. But they made the right call not giving them too much of the story. What is this, Godzilla Minus One?
It's not, and if you can go into it knowing that it isn't even close to being the same movie as Minus One, and just watch it as a fun Monsterverse entry, I think you'll love it. The music is great too, better than GvK, imo. VFX were awesome too.
Okay, now for some spoilers, just random extra thoughts:
Godzilla really did the OMG MOTHRA!!! thing from that one meme! And I did too tbh, our Queen is back and beautiful as ever!
I love how it wasn't an instant father/son connection between Kong and Mini-Kong (I don't remember his name). Kong tried to help him out a couple times, but then gave up after MINI KONG TRIED TO KILL HIM LIKE MULTIPLE TIMES! Like come on, this little guy is just chaotic. But like they actually had growth in their trust and relationship, it wasn't just like "me big, you little, I dad now".
Scar King was actually a lot cooler than I was expecting. Shimo/Shimu whatever her name is did not have as big a role as I was expecting, but I'm glad she's okay.
Shout out to Mothra for stopping her boyfriend from killing Kong, helping them in Hollow Earth, and then just chilling when they all went to Rio. She said, "you guys got this, right?"
When I saw there was another hollow earth inside Hollow Earth, I'll admit I had a bit of an eye roll. But they explained it away pretty well.
SCOTTISH GUY THAT SAID SHIT IN STAR WARS. Alex Ferns is literally the same character he was in Andor.
I love how they imply that they basically imply that the Iwi had something to do with building the pyramids in Egypt by having the portal thing open RIGHT NEXT TO THEM. Made a cool setting for the fight, too.
At this point, I have no idea how big the Coliseum actually is.
Last thing, for now. For having top billing, Godzilla wasn't in it as much as I thought he might be. I think Legendary is realizing that if you have a character like Godzilla who can just level up his powers instantly to take on anything, and just kinda does his own thing, you've gotta limit that screen time. Since Kong is kinda humanoid, it's easier to empathize with him and thus add character development. Godzilla can only convey so much emotion that most humans can relate to (obviously Shin and Minus convey a lot of emotions, but anyway). Godzilla is in the movie, but Kong is more of the star. Honestly the world of the Hollow Earth and the Iwi people and their history are almost as much of the focus.
