How… does Robin’s costume work?

A question long asked by everyone. But mostly by me.

Well. I’ll tell you.

First thing’s first, we’re talking about classic Robin, Dick Grayson Robin, this Robin:

There’s a common misconception that Robin’s shirt is one piece (as in a red shirt with green sleeves) and that his panties are separate. You see a lot of people refer to his outfit as having green panties. You, like me, may have heard it before many a time.

Unfortunately. Dick Grayson is not going out every night in a shirt, panties, and a cape.

He’s literally wearing a green leotard with a red vest over it.

Literally just a green leotard. He’s never been wearing panties at all. It’s been a leotard this whole time!

Also, just as a side note, I think it’s kind of funny that his mask is almost always portrayed as black, except in this panel where he isn’t wearing it and it becomes green. Is it double-sided, black and green? No, the colours in the 60’s Teen Titans comics are just funky sometimes. And, they needed the mask to stand out from the black background.

sometimes when reading classic superhero porn fic scenario "hero is auctioned off to a group of bad guys who are bidding for the right to do evil 😉 things to them 😍" i'm like i love this but man it's so common, who started this trope? what porn fic got this thing going? is it from the livejournal era, perhaps? from the days of print zines? and then i pick up an innocent dc comic to read and like okay nevermind dc was stroking it to that idea before any of us got the chance to invent it

So Saint has new voice lines in Trials at the start of the match, based on your class. The audio is currently bugged so you can't hear them, but if you have subtitles on, you will see the text. And some of them are absolutely amazing. He's super serious for Titans, but for Hunters and Warlocks...

I'm crying laughing. I need the audio to get fixed so I can actually hear him say this. He's so confused about Hunters, paired will with one of the idle lines he has in the Hangar if you're a Hunter where he says "Good luck stealing, or whatever it is you Hunters do."

I love this one. I love when Saint is being obviously gay while he's calling a pvp match.

I used to play Destiny 2. not for very long, but I did play it for a little bit.

like idk this will always just be so crazy to me because not even dick knows how much he saved bruce…. not even dick knows how lonely bruce was before robin… NOT EVEN HE KNOWS HOW IMPORTANT ROBIN IS TO BATMAN… he doesn’t realize until he becomes batman that you can’t have batman without robin the same way you can’t have robin without batman. and that he literally saved bruce from himself. but he doesn’t even know. ok.

*Ages of this post based on information from Jason and Tim's original runs in the 80s, as im still in the process of reading the comics and I respect original runs more anyway

Jason was 12 (pre-crisis, not contradicted) when Bruce adopted him at some point after Dick left, and Dick had left Wayne Manor for about 2 years by the time Jason died (Batman #436) making Jason 14 at death, to turn 15 that year if his birthday is August 16th

Tim is 13 when he introduces himself after Jason's death (Batman #441)

They have like, a 1-2 year age difference

Jason returns to life 6 months after his death, spends 1 year in the hospital, then 1 year on the streets before someone recognizes him as Robin, then 1 year with the league of assassin's before being thrown into the pit (Batman Annual #25)

A total of 3 years with Jason running on just instinct and muscle memory before being healed by the pit

Therefore, Jason, while physically older, is largely missing 3 years of his life

Jason is younger than Tim
