Ancestral Houses in the Philippines: Bahay Na Tisa in Pasig City

Quick Facts:  Bahay na Tisa is one of the oldest and most well-preserved examples of traditional Filipino architecture. It is a significant part of the country's cultural heritage and serves as a reminder of its colonial past.

The house is built using "tisa," which refers to baked clay tiles used for roofing, hence the name "Bahay na Tisa" which translates to "House of Clay Tiles" in English. The house exhibits a mix of indigenous and Spanish influences in its design.

Over the years, Bahay na Tisa has undergone restoration and preservation efforts to maintain its historical value and architectural integrity. The house features a traditional "bahay kubo" or nipa hut design, characterized by a steep roof and elevated flooring. It also has prominent capiz windows and hardwood floors.

We were getting ready before heading to the Abellana Sports Complex to take part in Kabataan Sinulog. Additionally, the drummers are also getting ready for the impending Kabataan Sinulog. And a few hours later, we're prepared to leave.

And then we came to DOWNTOWN CEBU to participate in the Kabataan Sinulog street dance, and this is also where we began our street dancing journey from Downton to Abellana Sports Complex.

Due to the fact that it is lunchtime, we are still standing when this picture was taken. After eating, they rest, and an hour later, they have already begun to dance. After a few hours, we arrived at our destination and are currently in Cebu City's Abellana Sports Complex.

After the street dance, we decided to take a break at the abellana sports complex and watch the other competitors' performances after learning that they had already begun.

It's already our turn to perform after the other contestants have done so, and I'm very anxious since there are too many people watching and it's being televised live.

Even though we gave it our best try and still made mistakes, we were nonetheless ecstatic because it was our first time participating in this kind of event. Predstavljena turistička ponuda Novog Bečeja

Beograd, 24.6. 2019. – Turistička organizacija Novog Bečeja danas je na konferenciji za novinare u Beogradu predstavila turističku ponudu, pre svega predstojeće letnje manifestacije, kao i nove turističke proizvode. Za mnoge je možda najinteresantnija vest da je Ceca Ražnatović potvrdila da će nastupiti na ovogodišnjim Velikogospojinskim danima, 25. avgusta.

„Mi imamo 34 manifestacije godišnje u našoj opštini, ali kraljica manifestacija su Velikogospojinski dani na kojima se za 4-5 dana trajanja okupi između 200 i 300 hiljada posetilaca. Ove godine manifestacija počinje 22. avgusta kada će biti otvroena Ulica zanatskog piva, a narednih dana uz celednvne programe u večernjim satima imaćemo ponovo koncerte najvećih zvezda iz Srbije i regiona. Ceca Ražnatović je definitivno potvrdila svoj nastup tako da sada imamo kompletan spisak učesnika“, rekao je na konferenciji za novinare Saša Dujin, direktor Turističke organizacije Novi Bečej.

Kako je dodao, na Velikogospojinskim danima nastupiće i Zvonko Bogdan, Hladno pivo, Van Gog, Pokolgep i Dejan Petrović Big bend. U  vreme Velikogspojinskih dana održava se i Poljo-fest, kao i drugi progami (Dečja ulica, Etno bazar...).

Na konferenciji za novinare od novih sadržaja u turističkoj ponudi Novog Bečeja istaknut je hostel „Stara vranjevačka opština“, koji se nalazi u zaštićenoj zoni jezgra starog Vranjeva i poseduje 44 ležaja u šest soba. Kao novi turistički proizvod TO Novi Bečej, predstavljena je Banatska slava pod sloganom „Uslami se“. Pošto je naveo čemu je slama služila ljudima u stara vremena, Dujin je naveo da je ova novobečejska (bala) bajka, kako se još naziva, zamišljena tako da svi koji dođu budu deo slave, malo se provesele i posluže. Prva manifestacija bi trebalo da se održi početkom avgusta.

Danas je najvljen i početak organizacije manifestacije pod nazivom „Međunarodna novinarska berba grožđa“, koja bi trebalo da se održi početkom septembra i to na Bisernom ostrvu. Direktor TO Novi Bečej Saša Dujin je saopštio i da i da je proširena ponuda Muzeja Žeravica sa postavkom o Džejmsu Bondu i to u kući u susedstvu u kojoj je rođen Dušan Popov koji je bio inspiracija za stvaranje lika poznatog agenta.

Na kraju konferencije, novinari su bili u prilici da probaju i neka od jela koje sadrži tradicionalni banatski fruštuk, te pozvani da dođu na predstojeće manifestacije u Novom Bečeju.

The fact they were in Liyue was more so to peruse the bookstore and find some books on the Archons themselves. To see if they could delve deeper into what made the Tsarista do what she was doing. But they couldn’t draw too much attention.

Seeing Murelle, Mao sighed before giving a smile. Remembering their first meeting, and how she’d helped her. “It is, Murelle.” She confirmed. Stepping aside, she gestured towards Tisa. “This is Tisa. She and I have been travelling, looking for the truth of things going on with the big girl in Snezhnaya.”

A chuckle left her. “She’s a bit shy, like you. I hope you two can be friends as well.”

DAY 82, OCT 22, Travel day to Crete & Family!

This morning we woke up early to catch our flight to Crete! We took the alilaguna boat which picked up right from the edge of our street and got us to the airport in about an hour. Our flight took off at Marco Polo airport at 10:05 am. Every airline is different! This one, Aegean, made us check our backpacks because they were 5kg too heavy! We were a bit nervous about it, but it ended up being fine.

We had a layover for about 3 hours in Athens, then got on our final flight to Crete, where we met up with our family! Kristie, James, Evan, Tisa, Natalie, Shawn, Wally, Kathy, and Jessica planned to meet up with us to spend a week in Crete together! It had been 3 months since we’d seen everyone so it felt great to be reunited. Chels was so excited, she could barely contain herself. We even made a welcome sign like the chauffeurs do! 

The family landed about 45 minutes after us, so once we greeted everyone it was time to pick up our rental cars (3) and head to our Airbnb on the island about 90 minutes away. It was a bit of a fiasco with such a big group and with all the different rental car reservations (for instance, the car seat for Wally was missing, so we had to coordinate that too, thankfully we found one from another company). People were pretty hungry so we also stopped at McDonalds on the way for a quick meal. 

Driving on Crete wasn’t too bad, but we had to make our way to the Airbnb in the dark. Everyone seemed to do ok! Sam was driving an Automatic transmission (not gonna try manual again after what happened in the Azores) and Evan and Kristie were driving manual transmission cars. We made it to the Airbnb (called the Tree Villa) at around 9:30pm and met our host, George. He was super welcoming and gave us a tour of the entire villa, which is huge! There’s a bed for everyone and a really beautiful outdoor space as well. It is one of the best Airbnbs we’ve ever had!

We all hung out for a bit longer, and planned out our week together, then went to sleep. So happy to be all together.
