Gojo stopped asking you what you needed a long time ago.

Now, he knows the exact answer, and he loves providing it.

“Feeling better?” Strands of white soften the bright azure of his eyes as he leans down.

You haven’t taken your gaze away from him since he began massaging your hands, sighing whenever he paused to soothe an unpreoccupied hand down your side.

“Yes.”

A small smile folds up the corner of his lips, but it’s the pleased look in his eyes that makes your heartbeat fasten.

“Good.” He says, kissing between your knuckles.

You don’t think you could ever bring yourself to stop loving him, he was too gentle with you. Almost as if he would break without you, so he had to be extra careful to not break you either. Being on your period meant your boyfriend’s natural inclination only increased tenfold.

“Can we go out to eat? I think I can get out of bed now.” You place a hand on his cheek, gesturing at your curled up position in bed with the other.

The large palm of Gojo’s hand cradles yours against his cheek, he leans into the touch with a thoughtful hum, and you can feel it travel down your wrist. 

“I don’t think so.” He finally says, an amused yet firm tone filling his cadence.

You roll your eyes, recognizing the protective stance of his shoulders. 

“I’m hungry.”

“Then tell me what you want to eat.” He clasps your hand more tightly to convince you, “I’ll go get it.”

Every word he says seems as though it was made to convince you that you are loved.

“Maybe my favorite?” You hesitantly mumble, running your thumb along the pale curve of his cheek.

“Done. Don’t move.” Gojo warns before getting up, keeping your hand in his as he rises to his feet from where he was sitting by you.

“I won’t.” You swing your still attached hands between you two and quietly add, “You would know anyway.”

You had tried to get up and brush your teeth by yourself this morning, and the moment he sensed that you were caught. Gojo lectured you the whole time he had carried you to the bathroom before setting you down and brushing your teeth for you.

The chuckle he lets out tells you that he remembers the entire, recent affair himself, “Okay, I’ll be right back. Text me if you want anything else, okay?”

Looking up at his tall figure, you run your eyes over every sculpted dip of his lips, his collarbones, and chin. Any movement he makes radiates grace and strength, but his actions were more kind around you. Sure, he was handsome and powerful, but he never made you feel like you were beneath him. Often, he told you that he looks up to you. That you keep him strong. Just thinking about how he adores you as much as you adore him makes your chest swell.

A beam adorns your face, the pain in your lower abdomen a distant background to the beat of your heart, “I love you.”

The reply is immediate and sincere, “I love you too.”

As soon as Gojo returns and you both finish indulging in your favorite guilty pleasure meal, he decides that it’s time for cuddles.

You hate to admit it, but Gojo is the absolute best at cuddling.

Maybe it had to do with the massive size of his hands, or the way he would let his breath tickle your neck as he draped himself over you.

“I hate to see you like this.” He murmurs, chin cupped by your shoulder and his fingertips roaming along your waist.

“Me too. It’s gross, right?” You joke, laughing as much as your knotted insides will allow.

It ends up turning into a wince.

A displeased grumble escapes Gojo, and you feel your boyfriend’s chest press nearer to your back after he tightens his careful hold on you.

“You don’t have to pretend for my sake.” The words are subdued, and you feel his cheek brush against yours.

At that, you turn to face him, despite his tsks that you shouldn’t move if you’re in pain.

You ignore the protests, reaching for the side of his jaw with a tenderness you only reserved for each other, “You don’t have to either. Ever.”

He visually melts. The arch of his eyebrows relax, and he swallows, speechlessness occupying what minimal space rests between the two of you. The aquamarine shine of his eyes is full of an emotion you can name but don’t always have to put into words.

“When did you get so sweet? Hm?” Gojo rouses himself out of his brief stupor, pulling you in by your waist and lips curling into a teasing smirk.

“I’ve always been this sweet.” You cradle his face in your hands, earnestly smiling back at him.

“You’re right.” He easily admits, broadening his grin.

You tuck your face into his chest, sighing with more dissatisfaction than you actually felt.

“I’m tired.”

Gojo holds you in his embrace, his breathing even and steady, “You’ll be okay.”

You prop your chin up to look at him, “You think so?”

He kisses a spot by your temple and it feels like a streak of sun just warmed the skin there, “I know so. Remember, when you’re tired-”

“I have you.” You faintly interrupt, his subsequent laughter making his chest shake with the light sound.

“And when I’m tired?” He raises your chin again, flitting his vision all over your happy face.

It’s not a test, more of an encouraging prompt. A promise you have been sharing since you started dating.

“You have me.” You finish, and he settles your face into the nape of his neck.

That’s right, I’m here for you. I love you. The small gesture says, and you close your eyes, listening to that sweet reassurance until you fall asleep.

Fanfic Authors to reread

Here's a list of my favorite fanfic authors that write such masterpieces I'm left in awe. I have reread many, many of their stories because the writing is so good.

Astolat - I've read all of her Witcher and Transformer works at least seven times each, lol. The Game of Thrones stories are mind-bogglingly creative, and the Harry Potter works are the best I've ever read in the entire fandom ever. I love how quickly each story progresses and how immersive each world is, and I find that her stories are the ones my mind most often turns to and thinks about while I'm daydreaming.

spqr - phenomenal, breathtaking, single-chapter oneshots that slice into a fandom with such precision that you don't even have to know what the fandom is but you'll love it and feel like you've been a part of it for years. Masterful, exquisite, heartfelt stories that are like a solid jab to the solar plexus when you step into them.

betts - oh my gosh does this author know how messy emotions and relationships and life can be. She flays apart characters, sees what makes them who they are--all the flaws, mistakes, grief, bad parts of them--and shows exactly what it means to be human. I've never felt seen like this before. betts has a gift and each story is an absolute treasure.

glimmerglanger - this makes me want to cry. I've bookmarked every single one of their stories. Read many of them over and over and over. Screamed in elation when a new update came through. but - they're gone. Nuked. Obliterated. My heart goes to the author. This is a reminder to treat these writers better, to not nag or insult or complain about the writing they do for free. I sobbed when I found out their entire archive had been deleted. Those stories were breathtaking. Staggeringly creative. All Codywan fics set in such masterful worlds: the Mermaid AU, Magic AU, Yellowstone, Baseball, Time Travel, Captured by Vader and tortured, heck, even the Animal Crossing crack!fic was a blast to read. The rarepairs were so much fun, Just Right with Obi-Wan/Alpha 17 was a personal favorite. I hope glimmerglanger is doing ok and knows that they have so much support from dedicated fans.

objectlesson - alright this is my guilty pleasure. Here's who to go to if you want interesting, hot, probably out of your comfort zone but gosh darnit if it doesn't awaken something in you, smut. Never thought I'd read Doc/Lightning McQueen fanfic but here we are. This author knows exactly what's she's doing and I'm all for it.

goldcranes - Masterclass of intense focus on little details. On exactly which lens setting you use to set the scene, what to focus on, how to best portray what's happening to wrench on your reader's heartstrings and make them feel. Phenomenal writing.

esama - my first fandom crush :). Whispers in Corners is my #1 favorite fanfic of all time. She's who I turned to when I first started reading fanfic a decade ago and I still lovingly go back and read what I consider her greatest hits.

i said its a tie between jan and kris and explained jan first so now here's kris:

when kris said waiting for jan is stressful i felt that In My Soul. i would rather die than be late, if im not minimum 5 mins early im already getting a stress headache. i plan things through start to finish, if you go on vacation with me anywhere you dont need to do anything except stay by my side the whole time and ill get us where we need to be, when we need to be. i always have all my travel connections as a physical note, as a phone note, and as a google doc. im going on vacation in october and i already had a finished map since december including hiking trails, tourist spots to visit, options for both good and bad weather, and restaurants with affordable and good vegetarian food. kris go on vacation with me you would be so happy. <this is funny bc the person im going with is also named kris

i have terrible fashion sense but somehow other people can find me great outfits from my own wardrobe, i often make awkward and/or cringe jokes in conversations everyone just politely laughs at, i too would accidentally let band secrets slip or call bojans parents "just regular people", i have been told many times that people are afraid to approach me in public bc i have "a resting face like youd tear my throat out if i even just look at you" and i got that exact resting face from kris when i passed him and damon on the street in oslo. terrifying. absolutely terrifying. unapproachable king.

i don't typically write fics because i dont have much attention span for it and bad at words. but since i've been feeling absolutely horrible since yesterday i thought i'd treat myself to smth

i don't feel like i need to give too much context bc. idk who else in the self ship community ships in this fandom but: im not even close to being done w/ story stuff but roland's playable unit has his official affiliation listed as 'unidentified' which is very ??? he's been a part of the ascension network since we've met him. so i'm like. confused and interested to know bc it seems like he has some sort of falling out with the others from other stuff ive seen.

Rook never had the need for extended periods of rest, even before becoming a construct there they had no one to watch their back at night and it was instinct now for them to always sleep with on eye open. Roland must be the same way, they think: he always found it entertaining that Rook would take the time to scavenge through the ruins of food factories from the Golden Age looking to find traces of sweet treats and canned coffee. Constructs had no real reason to eat or drink like humans did and instead of just laughing at them, he would sometimes rummage through the shelves as well: as if he could understand the reasons behind Rook's meaningless pursuit.

Caffeine addictions were a common things back in the Golden Age, especially between overworked commoners.

Even though the two of them needed very little sleep, the luxury of having another to watch over you while sleeping was an unnecessary act that they both indulged in regularly. Though most of the time the two would fall asleep huddled together, without a care in the world. It was even a common endurance during their time as colleagues via the Ascension Network but they had an unspoken agreement never to acknowledge their guilty pleasure.

But now neither of them had ties to the network and were no longer colleagues; but now consensual traveling companions. And even more so than ever Rook would wake up with Roland's arms securely wrapped around them, his face tucked into the crook of their neck.

And that's how Rook woke up this morning, after blinking away the grogginess they slowly tried to wiggle their way out of his embrace but he let out a content sigh and held on tighter. Rook rolled their eyes, they had no idea how someone like him could be so clingy and affection.

"Get up, we need to get going. I won't let your stupid ass get us killed." Rook finally broke free from his grasp and rolled over to to push themself off the ground, tossing him an annoyed glance.

"Ah, I see once again you've decided not to leave me for dead in my sleep. You continue to make unwise decisions." Roland chuckles, his voice still a bit hoarse from waking up so suddenly. "Someone might take advantage of your kindness."

Rook let out an annoyed grunt while they got rid of any evidence of their make-shift camp before turning around to offer their hand to Roland to help him off the ground. "I'm not going away anytime soon, hurry up we overslept and need to get out of here."

He blinked up at Rook, with a perplexed looked on his face. "You are no longer beholden to me or my safety anymore, you are aware of this yes?" His tone of voice was much softer and less ostentatious. Most would assume this was just another 'mask' of his, but Rook was very aware that he was wearing his heart on his sleeve right now.

"I know. But i care enough to stay, so I'm not leaving you now" Rook didn't know Roland's whole story, but they knew enough about his life to understand his insecurities and fears. And would be there for him with not-so-gentle reminders to assure him that he was worth something to at least one other person.

So Rook continued to hold out their hand and wait for him to grasp it.

When did you start writing?

I would have to say around 10ish? I remember writing down ideas when I was supposed to be doing math in 5th grade. For some reason my teacher didn't seem to like that very much. Then again, that was a story that I had been thinking about for ages. So I guess depends on how you define writing?

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy more reading than writing about?

Absolutely, a lot of heaver/darker topics, I fear I wouldn't be able to handle well in my own writing but I enjoy reading about. I also love reading comfort more than writing it, it just hits differently.

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

there are so many writers that I wish I could write half as well as they do! Though I do think I prefer having my own style over trying to copy someone else. I haven't ever been compared to anyone else though I would be so curious about who people might compare me too.

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

Just about anywhere I have my laptop. I'm not picky,as long as I can have music playing and nobody is talking too loudly I'm happy.

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?

Uhhhh...Probably stepping away for a little while. Or allowing myself t just write without caring about the quality. Usually having something very important that I should be doing instead helps too.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

misunderstandings/miscommunication will always be my guilty pleasure. But recently with my focus on time travel AU's I feel like I'm really delving deep into the idea of rose tinted glasses when looking back on the past. As well as the consequences of putting people on pedestals.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

I've been told I'm very good at writing about minor characters and fleshing them out.

How do you feel about your own writing?

Honestly, depends on the day. Sometimes I'll feel really confident other times less so. I do feel like I've improved a lot since I started to post fics which is awesome! (Although it does make me want to go back and delete my older ones).

Guilty Pleasure - Epilogue

Author’s Note: This is a short continuation of my slight AU which I think I’m going to call the...”College Friends AU” (to be distinguished from the usual College AUs where everyone is jammed into one school for the heck of it lolol). I didn’t plan on writing more since I usually just peddle oneshots, but this whole blog is just an exercise in actually creating something when I get vivid mental pictures instead of just ruminating on it til it dies. Anyways so long story short here’s a short epilogue. At least it finally gave me a chance to write the dynamic with Vandy.

Seven tapped aimlessly on his desk as he reclined in his chair and looked over the code for his most recent assignment. He would be lying if he said he was entirely invested in the task at the moment. His mind couldn’t help but wander, which meant he had to frequently read through the same strings of data multiple times. He paused in his half-hearted work when he heard the telltale footsteps of his handler entering his bunker. Great. That guy always knew how to pick the worst times to check in. It’s like he had some sort of sixth sense that told him whenever Seven started slacking. Absolutely uncanny.

The rhythm of footsteps was interrupted by a thunk. Ah yes, one added benefit to leaving a mess everywhere was that it tended to make it a smidge more difficult for his poor handler to safely and efficiently move through the space. He wouldn’t necessarily call them booby traps…although his handler might think differently. Seven was unable to suppress his snicker as he listened to the agent curse loudly. Finally, the door opened, revealing the disgruntled brunette.

“Geez, how many times do I have to tell you to pick up your junk?? It’s like a minefield out there.” The agent spat as he stomped into the room.

“My deepest apologies, Madam Vanderwood. I’ve just been sooo busy being a good little slave that I haven’t the time to tidy up!” Seven moaned dramatically.

Vanderwood laughed bitterly at that. “Hah, if that were true, I wouldn’t be on the phone with the boss half the time making excuses for why we’re behind schedule.” He moved closer, looking over Seven’s casual reclined posture with disapproval. “Let me guess, you’re still not finished yet.”

Seven leaned his head back, shooting Vanderwood his best carefree smile. “Ding ding! You would guess correctly!”

Vanderwood only scowled deeper at that, letting out a groan as he brought a hand up to rub at his tired eyes. “Is something going on with your RFA group or something?” He threw out a guess. He could tell something was different with Seven, but he wasn’t sure what.

Seven’s smile fell and turned to a look of genuine confusion. “Huh? No. Why?”

“I don’t know, you’ve just seemed more distracted than usual ever since we came back from our last mission. I know you have no problem with traveling overseas, so do you want to tell me what’s actually going on?” He asked firmly, looking not much different from a scolding parent as he placed a hand on his hip, waiting for an answer.

Seven brought a hand up to his face as he hummed in thought. “Hmmmmmm…Nope, not really. But I wasn’t aware we were sharing feelings now!” He sat up and whirled his chair around to face his handler with a sneering grin. “This is news to me, but by all means, go ahead and start the sharing circle. Ol’ reliable agent 707 is here with open arms!”

Vanderwood let out an aggravated huff, lifting his hands in surrender. “Okay okay, fine! Don’t tell me. But whatever it is, if I catch it affecting your work, we’re going to be having a much less pleasant conversation,” he growled halfheartedly, already too exasperated by Seven’s antics to remain as intimidating as he initially intended.

“Aye aye, Captain!” Seven chirped, giving a mocking salute.

“...Tsk, and get back to work! We both know you’ve barely touched your assignment all day!” He hissed, turning on his heel and stomping back out of the room.

Wow. He really did have some sort of Seven Slacking Sense. The thought nearly gave Seven chills. With a sigh, he closed his eyes and listened closely to the sound of Vanderwood’s retreating footsteps. He sat completely silent, waiting until he was absolutely sure the agent was long gone before he jumped up from his chair. 

Vanderwood was right. He was distracted. He couldn’t stop thinking about what he had done during that last mission. That line he had crossed. The line he was…still crossing.

Seven gave one more suspicious glance around the room for good measure before he clambered his way on top of his bed. Fishing out a screwdriver from under a pillow, he rose up onto his tiptoes to reach a small vent high above the bed. With practiced precision, he removed the screws and slid off the vent cover, retrieving the prize stashed away inside. A small plain phone, clearly a burner. He had ensured that this device was completely untraceable so that he could make contact without leaving any kind of digital trail. That was the only way he could justify this.

He let himself drop down onto the bed as he booted up the device. A quick glance at the clock. Yes, it shouldn’t be too early in the morning over there…

The device powered on and he quickly punched in the number he had been careful to memorize. His tired eyes stayed trained eagerly on the screen as he sent the first text and waited for a response. Several long moments ticked by as he waited with bated breath. Maybe it was too soon. This was a bad idea. He shouldn't have…

Before he could spiral into deeper self-hatred, a response came through. He felt the weight immediately lift from his chest and he felt himself grinning as he read over the warm greeting that he'd received. Just like that, his mood was a little bit lighter and all he wanted to do was sit here and talk with Y/N all day.

As more texts were sent back and forth, he settled into a comfortable position sprawled out on the bed. He knew he was playing with fire. This was far too dangerous for both parties involved. He should smash this phone before something terrible happens… But man did the warmth of these flames feel good.

Ok so I read All That Glitters after Perfection and oh my gosh it was so fucking good! It quickly became one of my favorites oneshots I’ve read. And you are definitely becoming one of my favorite writers. I really have a soft spot about the way you write the members, especially Jimin. I found him so adorable at the beginning of Porcelain. So reading this one was just EVERYTHING! He was so adorable. I was literally giggling the whole time. It was also so funny. The scene where she finds out about the money and shouts about how she hates her job and everyone that works there was hilarious. And the part where she asks Jimin to marry her was also so funny. That fact that he even had a scrapbook prepared for their wedding was funny, even though it was also intended to be creepy. Their relationship was cute at times. That fact that she went with what he wanted with the wedding. The moment with her parents was touching. Then the slight smut scene??!! I’m such a sucker for sub men. I absolutely loved it. And then the twist at the end??! I knew that he was eventually going to kill someone because it is yandere. But I wasn’t expecting him to have done it before and the MC to help him hide the body. And that being the main reason why she told him to leave her alone. Sooooooooo good! Ok I’m going to stop now because I could go on forever. I wish I could travel back in time and read it all over agin. Ughhh I’m so fucking happy right now. I can’t get over how amazing it was.

this one was really hard to choose, because i personally believe dialogue isn't my strongest, but my narration, but i really like this scene/dialogue in particular just because it was really fun writing jigen being spiteful and angry.

i don't think there are many fics out there that have jigen being cold or considering the reader/oc an enemy or distraction, so whenever i get the chance to write jigen and the protagonist in opposite sides of an argument (or conflict), it's really fun.

H: How would you describe your style?

hmm, well, lately i have been kind of experimenting writing more abruptly or straight to the point, but i used to have a flowery writing style, i believe. even now, i tend to go back at it, especially in parts where i want the fic to hit the reader harder. it really depends on the story i'm working on!

S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?

well, funnily enough, you mentioned "enemies to lovers" not being your cup of tea, but it's one of my favorite tropes if done well or done in a way that feels authentic and realistic for the two characters. i also really like slow burn (now, that makes a huge difference in "enemies to lovers") and tropes related to time travel or multiverses (it's my absolute guilty pleasure, ever since i was a kid, so you can only imagine how i felt with the spiderverses movies or shows like steins;gate)!

B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?

Hmmm. Not really? Most of my fics tend to be inspired by either the themes or character dynamics present in the original work rather than any sort of personal experience. (For example: the theme of TFatBatG is "what does it mean to be born evil?" and the theme of TWiF is learned helplessness and the hedgehog's dilemma. Five of Swords is about the nature of violence. None of these things really have a huge impact on my everyday life other than being interesting to think about.)

C: What character do you identify with most?

Following on from the last question: I kind of don't? Relatability isn't an important aspect of a piece of media to me. Often the characters I'm writing don't really resemble me at all, and that's what makes them fun! Writing stories about people like me would be kind of boring I feel, I'm a very ordinary (if slightly neurotic) person.

Must a character be relatable? Isn't it enough to behold a Guy and go "man that dude's fucked up. glad that isn't me." and laugh about it?

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

Time travel fix-its my beloveds <3 And I'm a big fan of "reveals" but they have to be well-written. Also sometimes you've just gotta read a story about a dude going through the absolute worst time of their life it's good for your health (though I like my hurt with a side of comfort. HNC is not my jam.). As for writing, I love writing weird vaguely eldritch shit. Does this make sense? No. That's the point. The more batshit-yet-thematically-and-narratively-consistent I can make a story the better. I want my readers sat there going, "what the fuck did I just read and why was it good?" Also dialogue and character conflict are really fun to write I enjoy that a lot.

Freaks Aren't Allowed (ffn): Harry is left out in the cold during the winter, and his mother's ghost leads him to Snape to get taken care of. Harry is really young here, at least in the beginning, it's absolutely adorable.

Harry Potter and The Underground's Savior (ffn): Harry Potter/Undertale crossover, Frisk goes to Hogwarts. Starts during Frisk's first year and Harry's third.

Brother In Arms (ffn): Harry Potter/Creepypasta crossover. Heavy on the bashing, Harry goes by the name Isaac Rogers and is Toby's adoptive brother, also he's dating Ben later on.

Harry Potter and The Lack of Lamb Sauce (ao3): Gordon Ramsey teaches potions instead of Slughorn. Amazing, gets a bit darker about halfway through, some people dislike it for that but I enjoyed it.

The Little Bat (ao3): after sending Hagrid to give Harry his letter, Dumbledore realizes something is wrong. He sends Snape to deal with it. Snape now has a child (Harry).

To Whom It May Concern (ao3): suicidal Harry, writes a suicide note detailing all the abuse he's gone through, to be given to someone shortly before he commits. It ends up in Voldemort's hands. Light side bashing, two endings (one where Harry is saved by Voldy and one where he dies).

Harry Potter and the Irish Choice (ffn): bashing fic but focuses more on Harry's new life, Harry transfers to an irish school, it's all very fun.

Oh, absolutely - some of my top favorites are There's A Meme For That, Freaks Aren't Allowed, Harry Potter and The Underground's Savior, and Brother In Arms. (As you can tell, I read a *lot* of Harry Potter fic. I think it's because I read more longfics for hp than I do anything else and I'm more likely to repeatedly reread a longfic.)

anyway. some Concepts. this turned out as less fic ideas and more personal headcanons. LONG post since i mostly haven’t talked about this. all of these are Free Real Estate if anyone is inspired by them

Even more for nsfw headcanons than sfw, I am above all interested in what the author is interested in. like, choking does nothing for me in and of itself, but everyone was so dang enthusiastic about it that now i'm invested and would absolutely read That Fic

for nsfw headcanons I have two different headcanon versions of clark for any piece of dc media. (yes this is how my brain works. blorbo all the way down). one looks identical to or nearly identical to a human. usually a cis man, however trans man clark also very good. the other has genitals that cannot be mistaken for human, usually some kind of retractable system. plus or minus some good ol' tentacles depending on the vibe. I went a little more into this + the Kryptonian names for such parts here. most of my headcanons are for alien biology clark, but going into a fic I think of any alien biology as a bonus, I don't expect it (there are, after all, a whole bunch of canon panels that go He Looks Totally Human No Xeno Here Guys!!. Every time I see one of these I like to imagine that some poor sucker at DC has seen something they do not like in the alien biology tag on ao3.)

A Clark who looks human I think is fairly well adjusted, he's had sex, he knows what he likes and what he doesn’t even if he may have hangups about asking for it. A Clark pre-serious relationship that doesn't look human, I hc has either not had sex or has only ever had sex with his clothes on and without being touched himself, only giving (for some reason allstar gives me this vibe) (sidenote: i do not mean to imply that this is not a perfectly valid and fulfilling sex life for many people!). he does genuinely enjoy being a service top. he just would also like to be in a relationship with someone who he could trust with his identity...

then he meets Lori in college (lori lemaris, for the uninitiated, is precrisis superman’s hot mermaid college gf, which is a sentence that rules. she should come back in a comic not written by frank fucking m*ller). alien4mermaid. for the first time he’s in a relationship with someone who not only knows that he’s not human but is not human herself. When she has to return to Atlantis it breaks his heart (canon). this ties into my Ideal Superman Timeline, where this is where he leaves college, at the end of his sophomore year, and scrapes together the rest of his degree with remote credits while traveling the world, learning what doing good looks like worldwide, and Finding HimselfTM. however this post is not about that.

that’s the background I usually have in the back of my little brain when I’m writing. Other stuff, mostly superbat but relevant to clois...

despite not having much experience he’s like. annoyingly good at pleasing his partner because 1. i said so 2. he is incredibly focused on their pleasure and 3. he’s got built in biofeedback receptors.

early on i think he absolutely ties himself in knots about wanting something, being allowed to want something, and feeling strange about judging himself for wanting something. the queer experience. man’s on three levels of overthinking. like, i think he enjoys the feeling of holding his partner’s arms down or thighs apart while he’s going down on them, feeling the muscles flex against his hands, knowing he has them pinned, but at the same time feels guilty about liking it.

ultimately he’s pretty vanilla himself, but since his partner’s pleasure is so important to him, he’s open to experiment and try things out.

Again early on, I think this backfires. There are certain things he is really uncomfortable with that i don’t think he’s aware of until they come up. He doesn’t like feeling examined or scrutinized, which I think would come up with Bruce early on in their relationship. Something about an old childhood fear of being looked at too closely. For the first few times, I think he’s more comfortable with the lights off.

dcau. bruce wants to try some sort of roleplay scene involving ropes/bondage and clark goes along with it because he can tell bruce likes it, but at the same time he’s lowkey getting triggered... clark’s very good at hiding stress, but bruce notices and pauses before it goes too far. clark just lies there still as a statue for a few seconds, says the safeword (’pearl’), and just as bruce is reaching out he’s bolted straight out through the window and up and away. bruce feels like garbage. clark feels like garbage. clark comes back once he’s ready, and because bruce doesn’t press for details, clark feels safe enough to choke out a few words explaining that it reminded him of what happened on apokolips with lashina. clark Gets Help. this fixes the ENTIRE dcau from that point on and neither of them die sad and alone in bapmanbeyond.

similarly i know it’s a fic trope but i don’t think he finds depowered/blue kryptonite sex inherently more enjoyable. in my headcanon he’s grown up with his powers - while they can be overwhelming at times, they’re also comforting, and the sudden silence is distracting. Also at any given time when he’s depowered there’s a little voice in his head going ‘what if an airplane has a jet engine failure right now. do you know how many people could die? and you’re doing this to get off? selfish.’ this is a statistical improbability, of course, but it’s bronze age canon he has anxious thoughts like this.

retractable dick very handy in such emergency circumstances. the annoying thing about sex with clark is that it’s very very good 92% of the time but 8% of the time they will be deep into it and then clark will freeze, do the damn head tilt and then WOOOOSH. and his partner can’t even feel bad about it because they’re adults and both understand that saving a life is more important than an orgasm. besides he will make it up to them thoroughly.

he gets WAY better at communicating about sex and desire eventually, but only really with his partner. i think at heart he’s a modest and reserved person, i don’t think he’s ever going to be joining in “locker room talk.” (however AU where he does is incredibly funny)

("praise... 'kink'??? what do you mean praise 'kink.' what do you MEAN. are you people not praising your partners??? ARE YOU NOT LETTING THEM KNOW HOW WONDERFUL THEY ARE??? THAT'S - PEOPLE THINK OF PRAISE AS A KINK?????!!" - a man at the absolute end of his rope. facial expressions going through all five stages of grief.)

leaves hickeys on bruce’s neck, mostly because he wants to and he knows bruce is into it, but also knows the man’s got an inexhaustible supply of turtlenecks. he is aware of exactly where the turtlenecks end and does not leave hickeys higher than that. possessive streak, in a very considerate way, but still.

as he gets more secure and comfortable he loses the jealousy. possibly he enjoys the idea that bruce has so much experience and still chooses him.

if his partner says ‘do what you want with me, i’m all yours,’ i think 9/10 times it’s slow body worship and massage. sometimes not sex, sometimes it’s just too relaxing. it’s an indulgence for him to just be allowed to be slow and present. physical touch is a big love language and once he’s in a relationship he can freely give it, he loves to do just that.

the last 1/10 times is when he’s tired and stressed. he can and will pick up his partner and rail them into the mattress/against the wall/into thin air while floating. this is where the auxiliary tentacles come in handy. he gets them off though even if it’s supposed to be just about him for once, he feels too weird if he comes and his partner doesn’t.

on really really bad days his partner will pick up on how down he’s feeling and will uno reverse card and body worship him and it will make him cry a little

finally here are some panels that made me break out laughing. first off. he can tell just how hard he's getting. ah. impacted.

(action 423) imagine he's the one getting railed and it’s going Great and then all of a sudden he’s just like. “velocity - 4mph. impact pressure - 15ppi.” in his best Broadcaster Anchorman Voice. i think this would be very funny. bruce would be into it lois would NOT, however it would make her crack up laughing, which is what he'd be going for, so everybody wins. he’s a doofus at times and sex is NOT excluded from that

(WF 104) vibrators don't work on him. very sad! however. with superspeed. he IS the vibrator. (supers :handshake: flashes). I don't think he'd be much for toys himself, I think there's something very satisfying to him about body-to-body contact, but if a partner requested them he's happy to indulge them.

I definitely recommend anything in my fic recs tag - the fics I recommend here on tumblr are generally character x reader or character x OC and they range from smutty to fluffy lol.

My guilty pleasure though, and the majority of my fave fics are gen or ship fics!! I actually hardly ever read x reader fic--absolutely no idea why I am this way--but if you're up for some gen or ship fic, I'm happy to rec a couple others.

I'm not sure what you're into at the moment but I will give you some of my faves!!

Don't Ask Don't Tell by Ms_Chunks Bakugou/Uraraka. I probably don’t even need to describe this one since this is the flagship Kacchako fic lol. But Bakugou and Uraraka explore the compatibility of their quirks and create a pair combat style, and fall in love along the way. I fucking love the way the author uses the chemistry of their quirks to parallel the compatibility of their personalities, and Uraraka is such a bad ass in this one ughghgh I love it.

who lives, who dies, who tells your story by aloneintherain Todoroki/Midoriya, though mostly gen. Examines Toshinori’s life post-retirement and the exploits of class 1-A post-graduation, through narrative and social media blurbs. I’ve never read anything that manages to be so bittersweet, so hopeful, and so funny all at once.

Thanks for Saving Me by Esselle Todoroki/Midoriya. This is a pro hero Shouto/quirkless science nerd Deku fic that is one of my all time faves. This is the type of shit my fics wish they were doing. This author is out here peddling the slightly-sugar-daddy-but-also-slightly-a-little-bit-of-a-shit Shouto agenda and it is absolute perfection. I routinely reread for comfort.

Slow to Start (But Quick to Burn) by mousapelli Kirishima/Bakugou. It's an ABO AU where omega Bakugou slowly figures out how to manage his relationship to alpha Kirishima, while Kirishima is predictably kind, patient, and understanding. This fic is totally stuffed full of domesticity--lounging around doing laundry and homework together, baking together, and napping together. Actually my all-time fave comfort fic, I have read this probably a million times.

journey to the past by aloneintherain Gen fic. A time travel fic where the members of Class 1-A go back in time to protect Izuku during the various stages of his life, as villains with a time travel quirk attempt to target the future number one hero while he's still a kid. It's so good and sweet and heartfelt and lovely and the author does an amazing job exploring Izuku's relationship with several of the major characters.

And probably a fic rec closest to the Rule 34 rec would be:

A Demolition Boy & his Cryptid BF by kewltie Bakugou/Midoriya. This is a social media fic similar in style to Class 1-A vs The Curse of Rule 34--it’s a youtuber AU where bkdk are youtubers in different genres, and the internet has a conspiracy theory that they’re together. Another really good send up of fandom and fandom culture, and another one of my faves.
