Couldn’t help but wonder what prompted this relatively generous time limit. And how will it be policed? Do they have an employee who stands there with a stopwatch and a bucket of water? Also, I’m having amusing mental pictures of the car park.

Time was ticking down, System A had a lot to do, and no one had seen Character B for days.

By Day 20, I was starting to kind of realize why people use prompt lists, I was definitely feeling a little bit of creative fatigue. However, I pressed onward, and drew a bunch of pokemon, spending 60 seconds or less per 'mon to draw their lines. I didn't time the coloring, but I imagine it wasn't that much longer.

Do they look good? For the most part, no (Wailord probably fared the best of the bunch). But I do think most fans would be able to tell "Who's That Pokemon?"

Reluctantly, Whumper lets them, albeit within a time limit.

I Thought I Didn’t Have Long To Live!

The "Luigi's Mansion time limit beta" speculation has been debunked by now, but if it did have a timer that locked you into a bad ending if elapsed, would you be any more or less interested in it?

It might make the game a little more exciting. I like Luigi's Mansion, but it's kind of simple. Some of that is to its benefit, but having the clock hanging over your head would spice it up a little. But it's fine as-is without it.

I'm the kind of sicko that is fine with time limits. When I was spitballing ideas in my "How Do We Fix Sonic?" video, I suggested level timers should count down, not up. I got more than a few comments from people who balked at that idea. I figured if you wanted a game to make the player go fast, being under a time pressure is a good way to encourage that, but some people don't like that kind of stress -- or the stress of a grading system.

I also think the first Dead Rising is the best one, because every mission in the entire game is timed. The game can, and often does, let you soft lock yourself into the bad ending without even necessarily realizing it. But that's part of the fun! Dead Rising has like eight endings depending on what you pass or fail. Later Dead Risings where they relaxed the time pressure and made it too easy to save and resume the progress were completely missing the point and making the experience toothless.

But I suppose people don't like time limits because they know it's going to rope them into repeating content. That's the problem with a lot of Sonic games, really -- they are often more fun on the replay, but most people aren't interested in learning and practicing like that.

Rather than follow the developer's strict instructions, most people would rather improvise and solve it their own way. Not that Luigi's Mansion gives you an option for that one way or the other, I guess.

Fake Edit: Upon further reflection, I'd also like to draw attention to the fact that in renovating the New Super Mario Bros. game systems to become Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Nintendo removed level timers but still kept 1ups and the lives system.
