#I was messaging in the group chat at work #and I was saying how I was considering getting an energy drink but not sure #honestly I wanted one but didn’t want to spent almost 4 dollars for it from the vending machine #because money has been a bit tight lately #we’re doing okay and will be fine to make it till January at least but I am extremely anxious about how low our savings is #and so I’ve had to cut out little treats for myself #so I wasn’t going to get this energy drink #but then my coworker in the chat comes by to my desk and he hands me an energy drink #and when I tell you my eyes watered instantly #I am just not a tough baddie when it comes to small acts of human kindness #and it’s silly to say but it honestly made my whole day

i won this competition thing at school which was a surprise and i didn't really mean to or care for winning. but sure they liked my design. why not. they want to give me money. great. but now i have to deal with my deadname being plastered all over the place and i sent an email to the company (that chose my design that they're going to make and sell) like hey im going to be changing my name Very soon would it like. be possible to use the new name when talking about me :-) and they answered that it's not possible (i get it if it was for like legal reasons idk) but their wording was very... ??? 'you won the competition as *deadname* so it wouldn't be right to change it' im sorry what. what does it mean it wouldn't be right. what. why. I'd understand if they wouldn't change it for the booklet if they already have them printed out (i did ask if they do. they didn't answer), fair, i get it, that's your money. but they straight up have a whole paragraph on their website that talks about me that she/hers me extensively (i haven't discussed that with them yet i only learned about it yesterday. like bestie that can't be that hard to change). wtf is a mladá umělkyně I'll kill you

#i didn't expect to win at all because i wasn't at the final presentations of the works. What would people actually like to see from my Patreon? I've hit a bit of a wall IRL and want to implement more incentives for folks to join, but I also don't want to offer something that no one's interested in.

I'm mostly doing my own thing, and have considered selling merch, but there's also that anxiety associated with interest/cost of production. I have decent skill in ceramic work, so if I had geographically convenient access to a kiln, I'd be able to do more with that. I miss working with clay and could never get into the polymer stuff.

This isn't like a life or death situation: I'm not exactly well off financially, but the straits aren't horrifically dire yet. I have a decent living situation: the folks here are great. Patreon and Ko-fi are mostly something I do on the side at the moment, but if y'all have any suggestions, I'll look into providing it.

#txt #the folks i live with are great: they've almost single-handedly prevented me from having to live outside.#tough to find modest employment in this day and age without a safe place to sleep or somewhere to shower.#and the housing/rent market isn't looking too hot. so i'm grateful for what i have.#things are getting harder for us: we're not in any danger at the moment but if push comes to shove it would be nice to have a #little bit in the till to contribute on top of my minimum wage #i don't wanna push patreon and ko-fi too hard: nobody likes ads and again my art is more of a hobby that i occasionally make money off of #i'd like to go serious with it at some point but i'm not in a position to give up wages to go full freelance y'know?
