Berlinale Film Festival 2023 Coverage @ Film Cred

This year I did two reviews and an abbreviated festival wrap-up for Film Cred.

in light of tedtrent becoming so real, im also jumping on the tedtrent epilogue 😊

there's just no way ted wouldn't keep in touch with the others (and have weekly zoom meetings just like in the christmas special) and I just love the thought of the whole team having reunions once in a while.

and going back to trent's arc in s3, the sunflowers conversation, "And your daughter?" "She's never been happier." I think it could go the same for ted.. we've never really properly saw how henry felt about his dad being in london, it's always other people that told ted his son misses him, who's to say henry would rather see his dad happy because that in turn would make him happy too? he was there to win the whole thing, right? I just know ted’s story isn’t done yet when he still hasn’t learned to let others take care of him in return and who else to pair him with than the man who blew up his career because a man was nice to him (and also because they were so. so cruel for the fakeout tedbecca scenes for that finale) 🥺

I'm no writer so just pretend these are snapshots of a slow burn fic where ted visits london for their team reunion and slowly realizes that trent has a crush on him and they kiss about it 💛

Daniel Malloy really said ‘fuck you, Armand’, exposed 70+ years of lies and ended their relationship. Wouldn’t surprise me if he tweeted #teamloustat before Armand turned him, either. Good for him honestly. Good for him.

1.

In mageren Jahren gibt es manchmal die fettesten Jobs. Ich habe für das Theater geschrieben, für verrückte Zeitschriften und immer wieder mit Bildern was gemacht. Ich habe für Daniel Kötter und Hannes Seidl gearbeitet. Und ich konnte für Renate Schmaderer und Christoph Hochhäusler arbeiten, ihnen mit Boutiquenrecherche und Fotos zum Stil der Stadt Frankfurt helfen, hoffentlich, schwer zu sagen, denn die Wege der Herstellung eines Films sind unvorhersehbar. Große Ehre, große Freude, war diese Arbeit, gab ganz große Augen und Ohren!

Der Film ist fertig, morgen ist die Premiere, der Film läuft sogar im Wettbewerb für den Goldenen Bär. Zinnober! Alles mir! Zinnober! Zinnober!

Ich laufe allerdings nicht durch das Bild, man sieht wohl kein Zipfelchen Fabiankram (habe den Film auch nicht gesehen). Während der Dreharbeiten was no Steinhauer harmed, er was charmed. Das war ein toller Job. Meinem Traumjob von der Liste Plan B, dem Beruf des Stadtaufweckers, bin ich dabei sehr nahe gekommen.

Ich freue mich riesig, drückt die Daumen! Ab 6.7. dann im Kino.

i apologize in advance for the man i will become if till dies in round 7 because i just know i’ll be inconsolable. i will not be coming back from that i stg

like ofc i was devastated by ivan’s death but i couldn’t really be surprised when he’s narratively a walking death flag. till, on the other hand, is a character who shows so much promise for development and growth (especially because he wasn’t exactly as firmly dead set/sure as ivan and sua in his plans).

i just need to see him cope with survival’s guilt and the relief of knowing mizi is alive and i need him to know there’s a resistance and that there’s a life beyond the aliens he needs this okay i need this for him

Linking this post cause it’s actually a very good thread on the DLCs ending and hits points I’m not gonna talk about rn. HEAVY SPOILERS BENEATH CUT

If you think Gregory is evil or tried to kill Cassie at the end of the game the Mimic tricked you too and you would’ve done worse than Cassie.

The chances the Mimic hacked into the elevator to drop it to get to Cassie or keep it’s only chance of escape from getting away are very high. There is noticeable glitching half way throughout the speech and the Mimic has been stringing along and trying to mislead Cassie the entire game. She is still confused on whose the real Gregory at this point and while it’s true the real Gregory was helping her escape, she still couldn’t tell that herself.

The Mimic is smart enough to recognize that Gregory has enough knowledge and help to assist Cassie as long as she accepts it and the easiest way to interfere is to make her distrust Gregory. If she is not outright dead, she will not trust Gregory in the slightest after being dropped and left for dead, allowing the Mimic to have an upper hand with her as she has little knowledge of the functions of the PizzaPlex.

Furthermore, Gregory has no control of anything in the PizzaPlex and it’s just out of character for him to betray a friend as he literally went back for Freddy when Moon took him despite how dangerous that area was. All I’m saying is please don’t blame Gregory, MVP did nothing wrong.
