Paralives Game really has to make a clear stance about monetizing mods. I bet Alex Massé doesn't want CC for his game sold on sites like MOD Collective. It's a pity it's so silent around this game here on Tumblr.

Who are getting less and less by the minute. Okay, maybe I'm just bitter that yet another always-free creator I followed for about a year went early access.

I looked forward to that nursery kit. But that quality? And given the history of the designer/creator? Nope. Thanks. No more items to choose from for the little ones of goth or vampire sims then. *sighs* Why does anything concerning occults attract those shitty types of creators? Modders and CC creators alike?

If you're changing every single feature of a sim in a makeover, why don't you make a completely new sim to begin with? Really, I'm tired of makeovers that make premade sims unrecognizable.

I totally blame the paywallers for this at this point. They tested the waters for EA if people are willing to pay for subscription models. I hope they'll give themselves a pat on the shoulder if Sims 5 is subscription-based, and releasing mods will be limited to EA's official marketplace. Cheers.

Remember when My First Pet Stuff came out and we all made a big stink about it? Remember when TS4 team said it sold well but also quietly decided that they wouldn't do an add on stuff pack like that again? Then they made up a new kind of pack and put out stuff that absolutely is just leftovers from packs? And now they are releasing EA App subscription exclusive kits of some pajamas?

What a sad state the Sims 4 has come to.

Because what else if the entire day was shitty already? And then you open Tumblr in the evening to read about yet another shitty person doing shitty things. 🤷‍♀️

Guess who is fed up with all of the shenanigans of sims 4 modders and cc makers. Guess who can't make herself learn how to do it herself. No matter how much she tries.

I'd love to be able to make poses myself. I still want that little mod that makes the books your sims write available for purchase at bookshelves. But does she actually sit down to learn it? Nope. That would need focus, patience, and commitment. But Brain doesn't do that. Brain wants hyperfocus or the novelty of gathering courses and tutorials.

Did I enjoy playing around in CAS dressing up Katrina Caliente for my planned Halloween pictures? Yes, I did.

Did I spend/waste another four hours ingame with build mode, posing, and fighting with gShade, which set all presets to write protected all of a sudden, to take pics and not liking a single one of it? I did.

Did that exhaust me to a point of not wanting to take any more pics? It -ing did.

Do I have the time or energy to take all planned pictures over the following evenings? Nope.

Brain immediately went, oh, let's get distracted by this and throw out an answer. 🤣 So here you are: I'd love to have Fauns. They could be like spellcasters but more dependent on rituals and their surroundings. If you had Eco Living, the state of the world could influence their power levels: the cleaner, the more powerful.

On the other hand, EA should finally turn Aliens and Merfolk into occults worth playing before adding another occult to the game.

Coffee Rant

While I agree most mods are replaceable by those by another modder, it's hard for players who enjoy playing occults or other means of niche gameplay or cc. Sometimes there's only one modder who makes one specific mod/cc or a set of mods/cc that adds more depth to the gameplay. Or fixes simple stuff like why can't vampires make Plasmapacks from Plasmafruits? If those rare modders turn out to be a shitty person, you're screwed. Because you can't switch so easily. Shouting "so learn how to mod or make cc here's Foxbury/it's easy (TM)" at people then doesn't help. I bet a lot more would dabble in modding if their time, spoons, or energy allowed. Trust me, I want to. But without hyperfocus, it's not going to happen, no matter how often I open a modding tutorial. Oh, I'll read it, but I'll never use that knowledge to actually make something.

So yeah, what to do with this vent, which is probably full of grammar mistakes because I don't give a damn about checking? It's just a vent. I'm annoyed with myself. I have to get this out to not let it stew the whole day while I have to focus on work. I'm annoyed I can only post pretty pictures and write short texts about my Sims. Like all those mentioned modders and CC makers claim, Sims is my escapism from my real life that has been a fucking emotional rollercoaster since 2018. Sims and then Simblr was me-time, as horrible as this community can get. Long story short, I'd love to give back more, help that my fellow occult lovers are less dependent on shitty modders, but I can't. And it makes me furious. Everyone who experiences executive dysfunction knows how frustrating it is to want something but simply can't start doing it. Or start doing it but never finish as soon as the dopamine rush of novelty has died.

Like the Roomie used to say: "It's not that you don't care, you care too much."

What is wrong with Tumblr's latest Android app? Since Christmas I can't see my own new posts. Neither on my dash nor on my blog. Reblogs on the other hand, show up on my blog. Notes and interacting with comments from the notification section work fine. If I choose an earlier post no matter if it's one of my own or a reblog it takes me to an empty page. Although the more like this thumbnails work fine.

(Un)Friendly Reminder

A seemingly same-sex couple isn’t necessarily lesbian or gay. A seemingly opposite-sex couple isn’t necessarily heterosexual. *gasp* I know. Scary isn’t it? The missing first letter for the potential attraction of one or even both partners you might be looking for might be the B in LGBTQIA+. And even the B doesn’t stand for bisexuals only. All of our m-spec siblings deserve to be seen and accepted. Thank you.

Well, how to tell you didn’t watch the My Wedding Stories trailer without telling me you didn’t watch the trailer and based your article solely on the cover art. Oh two female presenting sims must be a lesbian couple. That must have caused all the trouble. Oh, and bi the way, maybe it’s a good idea to rewatch the Vampires trailer. Caleb Vatore’s m-spec sexuality gets erased on a regular basis, too. Caution, I might bi-te today without consent.

We saw. We noticed. And we’re done making excuses. We watched as many of you stood silent during doxxing and harassment. We notice now your silence as people try to push 4+ weeks of early access on us.

More thoughts...

When you take people who are already emotionally exhausted from all that goes on in the world, who already have to pay almost 1K to access the full features of a game, and then nickel and dime them more for CC, and call them ungrateful when they don’t want to pay…they get angry. A lot of us have supported creators in OTHER ways such as retweets and reblogs, likes and shares. CC finds posts and WCIF answers. Only to be met with “you should be grateful and support us!” As if we haven’t been already? Then the sob stories and tantrums begin. Trying to tug at our emotions, as if we ourselves aren’t struggling. As if we are to blame for the fact that the creator chose to bank on an unstable choice of platform to make money on. You didn’t think to possibly save some profit for emergencies? For the possibility EA would do this? Some of you are coming up with these excuses while your patron numbers are in the thousands. I really don’t believe you are hurting. Meanwhile people who are almost homeless, smaller creators, those with illnesses that prevent them from working…all immediately complied with EA’s changes and did right. While others with large followings acted like they suddenly couldn’t read. We saw. We noticed. And we’re done making excuses. We watched as many of you stood silent during doxxing and harassment. We notice now your silence as people try to push 4+ weeks of early access on us. We notice how you vague post about those who call you to the carpet. We notice how you send your following after those who question you. And we will not forget. Some of you will never get our support again, in any form. You will blame us again. Because that is what you do. You will call it hate, a “witch hunt”, or people being “ungrateful”. But we will know the truth. It’s gaslighting, victim blaming. It’s manipulation. And the heartbreaking thing is, if you simply admitted you didn’t handle things correctly. If you asked the community for forgiveness...If you asked us for ideas on how to go forward and listened to our input. We’d forgive you. But a lot of you are way too prideful for that.

I have a problem that could be solved in 5 minutes I guess, if this pissed off inconvenienced old Millenial could call someone. Nope, instead I’ve been waiting for a reply to my email for almost 24 hours now.

I hope there’s a special place in hell for CC creators that permalock their stuff on Patreon, but offer it on Simswhatever for free after early access. Oh, and of course you have to download each file of a set one by one.
