Personally, I think Narita leaving Strong Style to join H.O.T. is a great move that makes a lot of sense, both within his character and in the larger context of the faction.

Desperado has often compared Narita to himself. He has said that he and Narita wrestle a similar "patient" type of match, and in a similar "straightforward" or basic style. When comparing himself to Narita, Desperado said that he and Narita aren't flashy, and contrasts their style with people like Hiromu and Umino. And he describes their match style as "a more subtle progress, putting each thing in the right order and the right place."

He also compared Narita's struggles to his own. It's no secret that Narita has struggled to find the popularity that Umino and Yota have found much more quickly. Desperado was much the same way - it took him a very long time to find his footing and to find himself after he debuted as Desperado. He spent a lot of time not getting over with the crowd, and he suffered a lot of losses.

Desperado broke himself out of that rut by turning on one of his closest friends, Alex Shelley, and joining the most evil heel faction in the promotion, Suzuki Gun.

These days, House Of Torture is the faction holding the position that Suzuki Gun once held. Strong Style has been paired up against them before, as a way to show how much Suzuki and Desperado have changed these days - they don't exactly fit in with the rest of Hontai yet, but they're nothing like House Of Torture any more.

Desperado has said that in his younger days, he was impatient for success, and that his impatience and stubborn nature caused him problems. He said that Narita is in the same situation now that he was back then.

So it makes perfect sense to me that Narita would make what's essentially the same choice Desperado made back then. Frustrated, impatient for success, and too stubborn and focused to listen to the people around him, Narita teamed up with the faction that until recently had mercilessly bullied him, looking for a shortcut to success and victory, or at least attention from the crowd.

Getting Into Knives is the retrospective on Heel Turn 2 it's what happens after the tempo slows and the music fades to those three minutes of slow piano-- I'm getting out of here in one piece/don't care what comes after, but the house burned down before I got there/and i found myself alone--drive the wedge and torch the bridge and loaded up my toolkit with every hateful instrument-- throw my better self overboard/shoot at him when he comes up for air, but then taste of hot ashes on my tongue all day/ I took my rifle with me to bed. It's about waking up and cleaning up the trash that rained down from the rafters but it's also behold, I stand at the door. Have you ever set yourself on fire just to burn someone else? Have you ever torched your bridges only to realize you left the whole town in cinders? What Darnielle said about Getting into Knives was, "The whole theme of Greek tragedy is that when you take revenge, you're gonna overdo it" but he also said "I may talk a good game about revenge being bad, but what I mean is that revenge is wonderful". look I know full well I might be reading too much into this but also I feel it in my bones and I am breathing it like air.
