I need a fanfiction of Tim Drake being basically Nicole from Class of 09. Jason never died so he never became Robin, he stayed a really pretty kid alone in a big house. He had no one to teach him morals or told him that something he’s doing is wrong (One of the things that can develop ASPD is inconsistent parenting and neglect!) + he’s awfully pretty so he suffered from grown adults trying to make moves on him since he was little.

The drugs and the suicide attempts are just plus!

He also is Duke’s and Stephanie’s classmate! So they see that kid who lives next door and is kind of an asshole and always ends up in the progress of someone’s death and decide to investigate him.

Neglect, multiple medical emergencies for suicide attempts, moving very often bc of his parents business (Even if they just stayed a couple of days before leaving him alone again) and the kid has started 10 lawsuits against pedophile teachers and ended up winning.

They decided to adopt him even if they had to drag him kicking and screaming.

Tim swears to god that if that family of furries is trying to kidnap him he’s gonna kill himself. He isn’t pathetic enough to put on a suit.

i just had a dream in which thomas jefferson (musical) was a pharmacist in a local mall and instead of normal morphine he gave me meta™ morphine. he also worked in the kid's playroom and in some other stores. basically he ran that mall. and when i got lost he helped me. (that mall was like a backrooms level)

then i was with the ninjago team and we had to stop a villain with smelly flowers

Books of 2025: ODD THOMAS by Dean Koontz.

This was a reread for me! I remembered it being An Inspiration for one of my own novels (which I'm revising now, which is why I am Returning To My Inspiration Roots), but hooo boy did I forget Exactly How Influential it was. The syntax, the tone, specific images ("apocalyptic crimson," neon and sixth sense, aimless wandering for a guiding Feeling about bad things, hello????)--Odd Thomas is 100% Driscoll's precursor, and I think they'd be friends!

Odd is a fantastic fry-cook who can also see dead people (they don't speak)(he doesn't know why)(he helps them when he can) and strange shadow creatures that portend horrible violence. He gets premonitions and weird feelings, and he uses those to try to stop a massacre that's been haunting his dreams for years. (The Goodreads blurb is better; I'm not sure how to distill this sanely, but I love it so much--it's weird, it's fucked up, it's funny, it's sweet, it's unhinged.)

Overall, this held up well! There was more fatphobia than I remembered (published in 2003 whomst??), but I do still really love Odd, and it hurt A Lot to know what was coming--couple instances of neat foreshadowing that I didn't pick up on my first read, and I was still delighted by many of the phrasings and humor. Still an all-time fave series for me, and I'm glad I revisited it!

"Shut up! Just shut up, please!" Duck yells out of impulse to the highly stimulatory environment of the mall but also out of annoyance from some of the ponies he's accompanying, who tend to sometimes be very annoying. Basically several factors, but all he knows is that he's very upset and can't handle things like usual.
