Send a ‘💬’ to catch a glimpse of a memory my muse has.

Vortex is flying through the skies faster than any helicopter should be able to. Once he received an embedded message with coordinates from his close friend, Caliber, who always used his comm line to chat with him, it became a race against time. One he refused to lose to.

A friend is in serious trouble, and Vortex doesn't know how bad the situation is until he arrives at a dark alloyed fortress beyond Kaon where he sees the aftermath of a fight in front of the entrance. He can see a body on the ground, beaten, and broken with energon splattered everywhere, almost like the mech had been dropped from a great height. When he gets closer he recognizes the red seeker instantly. His friend. His partner in crime.

"Caliber, can you hear me?" Vortex questions as he transforms and lands beside the mech. He kneels and reaches a servo out wanting to help, to hold his dear friend and let him know he would be alright. It's what most mechs would do anyway. Vortex, however, pulls his servo away, not knowing what to do in a situation like this. Normally he shrugs things off but this...

This felt different.

Caliber attempts to speak but coughs up energon instead. His right arm is bent in ways it shouldn't be, and his left leg is torn and sparking above his knee joint. The fall shatters nearly every inch of his frame along with his wings. He looks over to Vortex with dim flickering optics, knowing who is beside him, but he also feels so out of place that his close friend appears like a stranger.

"Caliber, it's Vortex. I don't know if you can hear me but..." The Combaticon stops himself as he can't spit out the rest of the words. He doesn't know what he's doing here, to rescue a friend sure, except there is nothing he can do. The repairs required are beyond his skill level and the seeker is in no condition to be transported elsewhere for help. "Tell me who did this to you."

The red mech could hear Vortex perfectly fine, the problem was making the connections required to respond to the words asked. Every time he opened his mouth more energon spilled out, trickling down both sides of his jaw. The easier option was to send another message to the copter with a name so he didn't struggle to get words out.

Vortex watches Caliber's frame bleed out as he receives the message, feeling a stinging sensation in his chest like he's been shot. It hurts not being able to do anything, to help in any way, yet he does have something in mind to offer to his partner. An easy solution to a tragic problem. "I hate to do this, but I can..." Vortex lets out a vent, feeling like he's choking on his words while trying to act like he can handle the situation. "I can end it for you. Quickly."

Caliber wheezed as he stopped coughing, only to gasp for a vent but energon was flooding them. His weak optics watch the copter while moving his good arm to fumble around his hip compartment, and pulls out a silver prod with two pointed tines at the end capable of stabbing and delivering high voltage shocks. It was his favorite torture device with his designation engraved into it and now he was giving it to Vortex to remember him by. Something the seeker had planned on giving to his good friend anyway since he recalled Vortex mentioning that he needed more electrocuting tools.

"G... Glad I-" Caliber manages to sputter out, as painful as each word was to say, but his friend deserved to hear it. "Got... to... know... you." He shuts his optics off and nods to the copter, showing he is ready.

Vortex takes the device, almost hesitantly, and looks it over before placing it in his subspace. He couldn't refuse a dying friend gift even if it did feel like taking a trophy from him. A servo reaches back to grab a rotor and places the tip on Caliber's chest before raising it above his helm. Ready to bring it down straight into the spark casing yet... he freezes. His arm struggles to move and for a moment he wants to drop the rotor, grab his friend, and pull him into an embrace.

Except Vortex doesn't, he can't, and brings the blade down onto Caliber's spark without another second thought. For someone who normally likes to watch the lights go out in one's optics, he can't bear to look directly at his friend as he ends his life. The pain in his chassis was already difficult to cope with and he wanted it to go away. He hates it and says his final farewell through painful words that he's glad the seeker couldn't hear.

"The same goes for you, Caliber."

Earlier in the year, I deleted my deviantart account.

I did this because they were going all-in on AI theft bullshit, and I wanted no part in it. And I'm pretty sure I know what you're thinking: big deal, right? And on some level, I kinda get it. It was a deviantart page, who cares, nothing of value was lost.

Despite that, I do remember going through most of my entire account, and trying to save a backup of whatever I could, just in case, y'know? I saved almost everything, before deleting every individual piece, and then once the entire account was empty, I fully deleted the account. I did everything I could think of to avoid letting the idiots running that site into the ground scrape what little I had for their fucking theft algorithm.

But there were a few things that I forgot to save. I had a few fanfics that I had posted there. The big one was the entirety of the New Vegas fanfic that I wrote over the course of 5 years. 174 chapters, just under a million words, it's notable in that it's the only project that I've ever actually finished to completion.

But the thing is: that wasn't actually lost. I have the entirety of that story, including several earlier versions, saved on my hard drive. According to the file properties, it's 50mb, and 1376 individual files. And not only that, but the "mirror" of that story is also still preserved in public with my account on fanfiction dot net.

But there were a few other stories that, in my haste, I forgot to save. And, again, it's a case of "Who cares?" because they were short, almost one-shot, fanfics based on the characters I played... in World of Warcraft.

Sheason Fisher and Tuera Ashama were my rogue and warlock characters, respectively, and I wrote a lot of short stories involving the two of them. Snapshots of this extended cat-and-mouse espionage game of super-spy versus super-villain, with a backdrop of whatever drama was going on with the RP guild I was part of at the time.

Thing is, the reason I didn't think to save them while scrubbing my deviantart account was because I assumed that I already had them saved somewhere. But recently, I went through some of my files, looking for something else entirely, when I suddenly realized: no.

They're not there.

All these things that I wrote about these characters that have existed in my head since at least 2005, and it's all just... gone. It's like all the stuff I wrote on warcraft guild forums for those characters - back when forums were still a thing - and which now no longer exist, because not only do all those RP guilds no longer exist, the forums themselves no longer exist. And I never thought to preserve what I wrote.

I kinda remember what most of the stories were about, vaguely. I kinda remember the general idea of the one-shots I'd written. But the actual words I wrote at the time? They have vanished. I could probably rewrite some of those old stories, and they'd probably be a lot better now. After all, I'd like to imagine that I'm a much better writer today than I was 10, 15, 20 years ago...

But the originals are still lost.

It wouldn't be the same.

I know this probably seems like I'm being overly dramatic, and I'm fretting over pointless bullshit. And, yeah, on some level, I acknowledge that I kind of am. But... still.

It's reminding me of just how ephemeral existence is. Moments happen, and then they're gone.

The only evidence that any of these events ever happened at all is my failing memory.

And, eventually... even that will disappear.

soo my old discord account had the first part of the DWW rp, and it got hacked, but heres an old screenshot my friend took a long time ago

apparently tiger shark dolphin shapeshifter and bat were actually in the rp!! i had forgotten

hammerhead was a hydrowing royal

basically part one was that my friends oc Quint was working with three others, including Halfmask, to get the dragon crystal from one of the Light Tribe’s big bases, a castle, and the crystal provided protection and power to them

Quint wanted the crystal to kill all the evil dragons and he didn’t know that the Light Tribe was basically the opposite

they kept attacking them and even the BloodWings attacked too

then, they get defeated, Quint dies by Halfmask (who betrays him) and Knight stabbing him in the heart with his sword

Then, second part happens, Quint is partially revived by my friend’s oc Angel (who was in the Angel and Taqqiq (my one fox oc) rp that takes place in the same land) and Wildcat, who finds him.

The original Shadow Tribe cult in Creature school was led by Shruikan (also stolen from Eragon) who was defeated by Halfmask, Knight, and a couple of others, and when it fell apart, Wildcat came back after they left and made a new cult, leading it. The cult wasnt introduced until the second part

Wildcat and Quint part, and Quint attacks the dragons again and again (the cult attacks sometimes also), almost stealing the gem but them snatching it back, then severly injuring Dauntless (Knight’s sister). Halfmask finally knocks some sense into him about how the Light Tribe isnt his enemy and that they werent evil, and the Shadow Tribe was

Quint and Halfmask team up to destroy the cult, Halfmask lending him a bit of his power, and Halfmask gets corrupted by Raven and Wildcat at one point. Quint kills Raven and controls Wildcat into freeing Halfmask. Then, Halfmask frees Wildcat from the Shadow Tribe’s control.

It ends when Quint becomes a hero (his redemption arc is kinda bad and rushed) and gets pyrokinesis powers from a small part of the dragon crystal.

sooo yeahhhh this took ten years after the Shadow Tribe cult thing in Creature School (i stated it somewhere in our discord dms)

Timeline goes: ShapeWing Genocide, Paradox crashes on rp land, gets amnesia, gets adopted by some nightmare fire wolves and turns into a pup named Flame, her adoptive parents get killed by an assassin named Lightning (a SkyWing i think, but actually Abaddon who’s a shapeshifter), turns into a phoenix, and attends the creature school

then things threaten the school, like the wolf that hired the assassin, this one guy named Scar, etc, they then go to a new school, something else happens to the school, (theyre adults at this point. Well Paradox was technically already one but… idk) they travel to Pyrrhia because they find out about this SkyWing group called the Hybrid Assassins, some get captured like Flame and Eclipse and they escape with the help of Torrent, who they met there.

They travel to Pontalo and find out about the BloodWings and King Diabolos, etc. They help the FireWing queen’s dragonet who was sick with a disease caused by the BloodWings, and then ‘defeat’ the real Abaddon.

They leave Pontalo, Flame gets her memories back and becomes partners with Torrent, they rebuild the school, Misty and Fang and Paradox and Torrent have pups and dragonets. Portal plot happens, Abaddon (he was originally a protector of the portals but got casted out and sought revenge) opens up portals that other creatures from other universes come in from and they have to send them back to prevent the universe from collapsing, killing everyone. Then school plot, something else plot, and Shadow Tribe cult plot. There were lots of miniplots and stuff scattered throughout, but thats were the Creature School rp got abandoned.

Ten years later, Angel and Taqqiq rp + DWW rp part ones happen around the same time, then part twos.

I probably forgot a few things because i had to rewrite this twice soooo yeah

There was a prequel to the DWW of Quint and Halfmask’s backstory basically, where Halfmask took up a new mission in something, (idk how to describe it but this prequel is confusing because apparently it was part of the Shadow Tribe, and Quint didnt know about it in DWW even tho he was in it) and this was before their crew in DWW part one. It was actually focused on their mutual friend named Raptor whose my oc and my friend’s oc Jack, but it did feature Quint and Halfmask quite a lot. It was also a prequel to the Angel and Taqqiq rp.

[Soulmate Demons AU old arts / part 1]

And finally, the prelude is finished and we go to the main thing. ..Hmm .. although all the most of basic things I've already told before?.. ​ Well, individual arts still have their own stories.. I also have some RPs archieved, which can be rewritten as a stories too.. I still thinking about it. I already had experience in writing, but I wasn't sure where it could be posted.. O-okay, I got carried away..

This is based on one of the outfits that my former friend chose for Soul. Since he made his “art” in Gacha Life, he often chose different clothes every time. ..To be honest, it drove me crazy, because in the end I didn't know which outfit to rely on when I drew them and what is now the canon in his version of Soul (Tamashi), almost every time the details were different.. In fact, I decided to draw Soul in this outfit because he liked this? .. At least it seemed to me. It was.. interesting experience.

It was a moment when I realized that I would like to come up with an appearance for Corrupt that would compared to Soul's, but so far just horns and tail, ignoring the wings that a former friend added to their appearance. Of course, a more edgy style, unlike Soul's relatively smooth ones. This is where AU start to exist, but without official name yet. I can’t remember where the idea for a scarf and gloves came to me.. It is unlikely that it came from the RPs.. Most likely I just wanted to add more individuality, adding details than to make completely different clothes (already had enough Tamashi's clothes that had more and more details every time..)

It was my aswer to his gacha recreation of [skittletoc] art in which Soul shows Corrupt middle finger with "F*ck you", but in his interpretation it was "This is why what am I saying~ Fuck you Darling~" It was kinda out of nowhere, but I can see that it's just random thing for lolz, but.. I’ll be honest, Corrupt doesn’t feel funny about that. Therefore, there were two reactions. The one he showed..

..and the true one.

[Really, despite his origin, my version of Corrupt came out quite sensitive and emotional when it comes to those to whom he trusts, craving for mutuality in his feelings. So it's not surprising that this was his original reaction to such an action..]

It was a critical moment. Enough events happened that dismoraled Corrupt so much that even I had to violate the rules of a spatial continuum to simply bring him back to his senses. In theory, this is Soul's work .. .. sigh .. I don't know. It is difficult, I retell the events that took place due to the actions mostly of the person and not the character whom he roleplayed, is this even correct? In other hand.. This is the past that already made. I can't rewrite it, it all left a mark on us, remained in the form of arts and stories. In general, AU about these two together, having special bond, while a friend with whom we created it constantly makes some kind of nonsense aimost all the time. As, for example, through role-playing actions Soul suddenly acts around Corrupt as if the latter is something despised, although they seem to have romance already, as he said? This really created a bunch of misunderstandings and resentments. It can be imagined that at first Soul treated Corrupt with hostility and don't likes him, for a reason, but I can’t imagine him being so vile as to make him to believe that there is something between them, and then brutally reject, playing with feelings. No it's not like him at all.. [I think I still personally cannot get rid of resentment because of many things that have happened. Remembering them, I go through it again. ..I hope that this will help me bury some bad memories, and then I can create new, and better one for this AU. Albeit alone..]

I can continue here.. but probably I'll divide it into a few more posts.. ..because I'm too generous with details and comments.. ..It can take me away into more of my memories and experiences, and there is a particularly cruel moment ahead that I cannot forget. We haven't reached that yet, but I don't think that I can say only a few words about it. Like now.

So it's better to go through it measuredly.. It resonates with my emotions too much.

That would be proto Meri. She was really the first that grew into an actual character.  She was also supposed to star in an Oblivionrewrite/webcomic/fanfic thing I drew like one page of years ago.

I like different ones for different reasons!  Arra’s dialogue and one-liners, Dreyns’swhole ark of getting old, Vitia’s philosophy, etc.  etc.

Nope.  And I’d neverconsider them mine.  I handcraft them andbake them one-of-a-kind each time.  Butmore seriously, the most I could take is an idea for a character, because Ialways like to twist things on their head and really make it my own.  I don’t enjoy writing NPCs for thisreason.  I can’t get in their head and myheadcanons get a bit much, so I’d rather just write for those I know.

Tactus Gavros Sigilis!  An inspector/investigator for the Empirein Skyrim.

I think that’s not really up to me.  I can’t decide who fans will latch onto.  I know who’s the most well-liked at thistime, but that’s no indicator of who would be well-loved by a much wideraudience.  I’ll leave this one to my fans!

I do my best to give everyone unique looks andclothing/color schemes, but!  There’sthree that got based on each other and aren’t the same but even I’m confusednow.  I’ll make a separate post to breakit down.

Veabris has a beautiful singing voice that would sound agood deal like Annie Lennox.  Actually,just listen to “Into the West” and you’re good to good.  But you’ll never hear it because Vea is superself-conscious and private about singing.

You know, I think I overlook making them artistic justbecause I am.  It would be too obvious.  But let’s say Stigr and La’Mihr are.

In world or OOC? That’s a really important distinction! But Veabris’s intentions are usually misinterpreted.

I think they call this a “hot take”, but in my opinion everyperson has flaws and depicting them otherwise is bad character writing.  Like sure, they can be nice and all, but theystill topple the board over when they’re losing Risk (or Axis & Allies).  Showing only one side of a character seriously,(not if it’s just for laughs) is boring to me. Where’s the growth?  They don’teven need to have “flaws” per se.  Whatif the “One True Hero to Save the World” is balled up on the floor crying tothemselves because they don’t think they’re strong enough?  Hot take over and it’s probably little kidDreyns.  (Which breaks hearts because hegrows up into something not pure.)
