Oh, thanks for answering so quickly! (I didn't expect it, really)
I'd really like to share my headcanons about Something new!Killer and player!Killer
But first of all, I AM VERY SORRY that in the last post some parts were simply translated into Russian when sending?? For some reason??? It shouldn't be this way, so I'll put the English version below, I hope it's not too confusing [The higher the Stage, the more player!Killer is a Player than a Character, and the less he cares about others as equals - Players can care about Characters, of course, but this will not be real love, but LOVE, what makes hurting those you love because you love them or because you don't care about them
And Killer has a lot of LOVE
ST0 - The Character, Killer before killing Chara, is not able to return to this stage without removing the Demon and changing the code
ST1 - identifies most strongly with other Characters, considers others to be living individuals, has all the emotional burden on his shoulders and is capable of emotions and feelings of pain. If memories of other Stages are not blocked, then he remembers what they did, but from his own point of view - and is not happy about it. At this stage has a solid LV 20
ST2 - emotions and affections are suppressed, comparable to soulless creatures like Flowey. For him, others are, as Flowey would put it, lines of dialogue that become difficult to care about after they've run their course. The fake emotions are fake, and Killer himself is apathetic, except when something interesting is happening. LV 99
ST3 - a borderline stage between ST2 and ST4, where the Killer cannot be described by any word other than a Monster in the most direct human sense of the word. There is no restraint or control like Stage 2 or 4, just boundless Fun and pleasure in causing pain and suffering to others. LV 999999...
ST4 - Killer, but if only he had the full Player mentality. Or Demon. All connections and “friends” are just paths to passages, new dialogues, and games that can be arranged. At this Stage, Killer fully understands why Players and Creators do what they do. LV :)
ST5 - Demon Vessel. Player. All pretense of the Character is stopped. Not considered a real Stage
The Characters are, well, the characters, from Color to the Killer himself, while We are the Players, and the Stages are a kind of stages in the approach of the Character to the Player with all that it entails It's interesting to see how the mentality of a broken person gradually changes closer to being inhuman At least for other Characters
Just as described above, the Demon follows the Killer after Chara's death again, replacing the hallucinations with his presence
And instead of the usual hallucinations of everyone he once loved, player! Killer hears Us and sees what We do to the world around him, when We change the world to suit our idea of reality. Imagine remaking history while the Character is still inside and seeing the world change around them, along with the rest of the Characters and their memories of how the world should be
Therefore, player!Killer is also unsure of the reality of what he sees, not because of the hallucinations of those he loved, but because he can never be sure that his memories correspond to the current iteration of reality (as How would you feel when you know that at any moment your memories and behavior can become invalid for the world around you, but at the same time people believe that everything has always been like this because their memories have been changed in accordance with the new state of the world?) . Because of this, some people may believe that Killer has memory problems. Or hallucinations. This is all about what player!Killer remembers when the Creators changed the world
And since I mentioned this earlier, it's worth mentioning that player!Killer has a lot of gameplay mechanics at its disposal. Starting from the menu and inventory and ending with something more interesting
For example, Killer, starting from Stage 2, has too much Determination, which prevents him from seeing and makes him almost completely blind (even worse at higher ST), so he sees “from a different point of view,” that is, with a third-person camera or The Eye of the Demon, as I like to call it, which replaces his vision and allows him to look at himself and others from the outside]
Now, about my player!Killer headcanons (which I actually sometimes apply to Something new!Killer because the line between the two is really fine and interchangeable)
I really like the idea of a third person camera replacing Killer's vision when he can no longer see with his own eyes This will not only make him distance himself even more from his own body, but also from the events in his life - because it really looks like you are just observing someone else's life, and not living your own It's like you're watching a TV series, or playing a very interactive game. And this kind of vision must have been very confusing the first time - looking at yourself from a different point of view, easily moving your vision to the sides without moving your body, and moving your body without moving your gaze But he will never need a mirror again! It’s also very useful for spying and eavesdropping.
I also like the idea of some kind of mini-map where you can mark living creatures and follow them. This is an excellent material for finding your prey, no matter where it hides and no matter how far it runs - perhaps Killer will even have a pointer in the direction of his prey
Something new!Killer in canon has two projections of himself that seem to be able to talk to each other and push Killer to do different things Personally, I replaced one of the voices with the Demon because it's just aesthetically appropriate to have a Demon on Killer's shoulder pushing him to do terrible things (or not so terrible, after all, this is still a Player with Our mood swings and curiosity) And the second, of course, is the Character, or the remnant of Sans in this terrible mixture of Human, Monster and something else Perhaps it is the struggle between these two "voices" that is the reason for the existence of the Stages. If you can call it a struggle, having a Demon control every part of your life and allow you to function as a separate being for reasons known only to the Demon.
And that part about the hallucinations in the last post, which was perhaps too confusing without context. I'm talking about how a character is able to realize that he is inside the story, and at the same time without the ability to influence anything, and realizing that something has changed only after the fact For example, how are stories created? Usually the Creator creates a setting and adds characters to the resulting world who already have all the necessary knowledge and context clues in order to think that everything around them is real, and their life really was and existed before the beginning of the story. The characters have no point of view from their own history, so they cannot understand that the Creator has changed anything in their world, because from their point of view “everything has always been like this.” They cannot understand that their life may not have even existed up to a certain point, and their personality and emotions were fabricated But what if one of them could? In this case, player!Killer was not aware of such changes in his existence until he received his first Stage, like any other Character, and, of course, unless you really want Killer to remember something, then he there won't be. But it's just fun to imagine Killer tripping over himself when talking about events that never happened from the other characters' perspectives. Or about other characters. About other events from other people's lives. How terrible is it to exist in a world where you REALLY can't be sure something is real? The usual tactile sensation is not enough to understand what is real and what is not. xdd
I also thought about making player!Killer more... physical. Like Flowey. If Monsters are made of magic and dust, Humans are made of flesh and water, then Killer is made of magic, matter and Determination, holding everything together like really strong glue. I want you to be able to shatter every bone in Killer's body. I want black determination to flow out of him instead of blood. I want you to be able to burst his head like a ripe watermelon, filled with a black, viscous substance instead of juice. I want you to be able to smear him across the wall, leaving only his Soul intact. And I want you to be able to tear and tear his Soul like a dog squeaking toy, and it will Refuse to die again and again, restoring Killer's body and shattered mind from the remains so that he can try again or you can break him once more for a snack
I love the idea of Killer being able to interact with the world through a game interface and have it actually affect the world around him I've seen some people use Check outside of Fight in their pieces as a way to identify the person in front of them or check their LOVE. Sometimes Check will also show a short description of the character, which looks pretty interesting to me! But what if instead of a simple Check there are other ACTs? And MERCY? What about SAVE? I like to imagine how in Fight you could use ACT to manipulate people enough to spare them even if you killed everyone else. ACT itself even provides actions that can be used to make a monster lose its will to fight! If a regular fight doesn't work, use words as your most skillful weapon and use your opponent's weaknesses against him, and considering how observant Killer is, this will not be difficult for him MERCY can be used as a feint, like classic Sans does, to stab his enemies in the back, and ITEM could very well be an inventory item And about creating pocket spaces for Fight. This mechanic can be used as a trap - the victim will not escape and will not win, and you can break it in any way possible - the victim is at your disposal. The Killer could use a similar technique to carefully remove Souls, blood and dust for his experiments. Or even living people.
Somewhere on this blog it was mentioned that between Killer and Horror the cannibal is probably Killer and I fell in love with that idea! After all, Killer is already crazy in every possible sense of the word, and cannibalism looks like a nice pinch of sweetness on top! Will he eat dust and flesh to try different flavors? Maybe people with different LOVE have different taste? All for the sake of curiosity, of course. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried some of his own. Maybe he will eat Souls? Not that it would give him anything other than a strong boost of energy, and perhaps residual memories of the Soul owners, but it should be an interesting experience!
I've been toying with the idea of what Killer would sound like in different Stages, and I think it would be fun if his lyrics changed from Stage to Stage as well. For example: 0st *Sans blocks the way. 1-2st *Killer blocks the way. 3st *A Monster is blocking the way. 4st *You are blocking the way. 5st *I am blocking the way. And I like to imagine that Killer's voice in ST4 is incredibly relaxed and even friendly, as if he doesn't take everything around him seriously (because he does), and it's just a game between friends, where he kills his friends, like you can kill a character your friend in the game for fun ST3 probably wouldn't talk because he's always choking due to Determination, and when he tries to talk, Determination would leak out of his skull (ST4 is also choking from the amount of Determination, but that doesn't stop him from talking, which is weird)
And I've been thinking about another game mechanic for some time - Tasks. Just like in games you have a list of tasks, why shouldn't Killer have one? This actually solves a lot of problems! A Killer can be given tasks by a higher up in the hierarchy, be it a Demon, a Nightmare or even a Color (think of what that alone can add to their relationship), and no matter what Stage or state of mind he is in, he will never forget his current task (except ST3, he doesn't care). This way you can also write down what you need to complete the task, without actually listening to the briefing, and always updating the information in the Killer's head. There's also no need to worry about not completing a task - Tasks has an internal punishment/reward system that will make sure that Killer actually does what he's told to the best of his ability! (until, of course, the tasks start to conflict with themselves - the Demon and any other authority figures may have different opinions on different things, so I assume that the Demon's tasks will automatically take precedence over external authority figures)
The same goes for the Demon. Maybe other "ghosts" like X!Chara, Dust's Phantom (a variant with a real ghost), Passive Nightmare (I think that's what they call it?) and the like could see the Demon? A little party of extra soul passengers xd
Also, maybe player!Killer will have some kind of code manipulation abilities at high stages? The only thing I can think of right now is that Killer will be able to inject his victims' code with a "poison" or some kind of small virus that will destroy the code from the inside until the victims stop working in any way
And in the end I was thinking about some kind of body horror, most likely on ST3, associated with changing the body, like the same Flowey does (did you see the hands/vines with which he held the characters at the end of the pacific path? I'm sure it's an ordinary flower not capable of this), but I think it will be left for the viewer's interpretation
I think that's all I have for now and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!!! Thanks for running this wonderful blog and allowing others to express their thoughts. <3
CW: forced cannibalism mention, torture/abuse, suicide/driving someone to it/murder, murder, brutal violence but that’s expected with a killer variant
I think i remember seeing a similar concept of like, the world changing around in accordance to the creators’ whims with ink before in fanfic but itd be interesting asf to explore this type of thing from killers pov. Who does not know too much about creators yet, just players, and hasnt yet encountered those who seem to see and know and experience anything he does. I’m sure he feels like he’s losing his mind (but what else is new for a killer variant.)
As for the “third eye”—i love that idea. could definitely explain why tf killer knows things he shouldnt, and only serves to make his dissociation so much worse if he doesnt understand what hes seeing yet. and like..the idea that you can absolutely just tear killers body to shreds and it wouldn’t mean a damn thing because killers DT just Refuses to die and will pull that vessel back together bit by bit from sheer determination alone..could definitely lead to body horror all around.
and also the idea of st4 choking on DT and yet..somehow still talking is actually kinda disturbing too. and also with all the Act stuff and manipulation I just had the image of killer just..psychologically tormenting someone until they just kill themself for him or someone else kills the victim for him. and luring them with hugs and mercy, or doing what he did to swap and pretending to cry to provoke pity and convince someone into letting their guard down, just enough that he can kill or brutally hurt them.
And when I brought up the possibility of killer and cannibalism it was actually not because hes “crazy” (I don’t really like using that word, as a mutual of mine said something along the lines of before, “no one’s ever just crazy,”), but was moreso because..well, it was a favorite “suggestion” and game of chara’s.
sometimes theyd playfully suggest eating up all the dirty dust if hes really that hungry and if he’s really earned enough food, and sometimes they’d give him food on to later suggest or imply they put a little something in it but killer never knows if its true or not. sometimes theyd offer two or more different food options (when he isnt around to see where they came from or how they were made) and imply hed better be smart and “choose the safe one.”
sometimes killer would die from poisoned foods, sometimes its safe (either some or all are), sometimes its just rotten and spoiled. sometimes Chara changes their mind and decides he’s not actually hungry. sometimes he gets nothing at all unless he wants the dust. (Which he doesn’t think hes ever went that low or gotten that desperate..he thinks..)
ultimately killer never really knows for sure if he has done something like that, but itd be interesting to explore what itd be like if he did know. maybe he did get that desperate one day..or maybe he just finally caved when chara kept hammering on the threat..
And also! I love the tasks idea, the idea that killers mind runs in series of tasks and there’s internal reward and punishment systems to ensure he does them exactly as hes supposed to; usually the internal tasks would take precedence over any external ones, and external ones that come from higher up in “hierarchy” favor out over tasks given from like, teammates or those asking for favors. those at the bottom like that tend to be easily forgotten and discarded in the more important tasks that must be done.

Mother Of Shadows (Shadow Of A Bluejay Ch. 7)
A lot of backstory in this one and you know what that means... It's oc time! I like to think of Lady Lilith having just a nice evil british accent, real classic villain vibes. Anyway we're getting closer to the end. We've passed the halfway mark at least so don't forget to tell me what you think of this series so far in my ask box👍
I really wanna get some feedback on how it's going so far, especially if you read the original SHadow Of A Bluebird
Series Masterlist

Star City September 21, 14:30 PST
The final bell couldn't have rang soon enough. Today had been miserable. A physics pop quiz, english presentation day and you'd been up late the night before on patrol and to make it all worse it was hot. So very hot.
You were sweating as you walked out of school only to hear a loud honk when you tried to cross the street.
You turned around, trying to find the moron who honked only to see Roy waiting in one of Ollie's less flashy cars.
You ignored him and tried once again to cross only for him to honk again. This time people were looking.
You weren't typically the self conscious type but it was getting really uncomfortable so you gave in, walking over to Roy if only to tell him to shut it with the horn.
As you approached he lowered his window.
"Hey—" He tried.
"What are you doing here?" You questioned.
"I'm picking you up" He said.
"The first day of school was almost a month ago so I'll repeat. What are you doing here?" You asked again and he groaned.
"Just get in the car will you?" He asked but you stood your ground.
"No. Why are you here? You refuse to answer my texts, you don't pick up my calls, you walk off when we try to invite you onto the team and then when you need help you call Kaldur. You didn't even ask me, you went straight to him so why all of a sudden do you wanna see me?" You questioned and you heard another car behind him honk. He was holding up the parent pick up line.
"Will you just get in the car?!" He exclaimed and when you heard the start of another honk you gave in yet again, slamming the car door behind you as you buckled in. Roy drove off and yet no answer.
"Are you seriously gonna make me ask you again?" You asked, you'd taken a seat in the middle of the bench in the back.
"I wanted to say..." His volume fell off as he spoke.
"What?" You asked.
"I wanted to say I was sorry. I shouldn't have ignored you" He said. You weren't expecting that, though your heart hoped for a long time to hear those words. Three months to be exact.
"And the mission with Kaldur?" You asked.
"I called the cave, he was just the one there" Roy said.
"Yeah, so you went and unified the Rhelaias with him." You grumbled
"will you get out of your own ass for a second, this is important" Roy said and you rolled your eyes one last time.
"yeah, you're apologizing, not a common occurrence" You said.
"And I wanted to show you something." He said and turned into an empty parking lot and pulled out a file, handing it to you.
"what's this?" You asked.
"Open it" He said and carefully you did.
It read:
Mother Of Shadows
Project Iteration A-15
"Where did you get this?" You asked. You hadn't heard that name since Dinah took you in.
"I've been investigating the Shadow's dealing since I went solo, found that in an old lab." Roy said, "Now do you wanna get in the front so we can figure out what to do about this together?" He asked.
"You mean like, a mission? Just the two of us?" You asked and he nodded, smiling.
"Just like old times" He said.
Himalayan Mountains
September 22, 04:53 PKT
You looked out over the snowy mountain peak, snatching the binoculars from Roy.
"Are you sure the rest of the file is here?" You asked him.
"Yes. According to my info this is the base they moved their medical facilities to. Since I found the first file in the remains of their previous base the rest has to be here." Roy explained. He covered his usual suit with a white parka to protect from the cold and try to blend in while you simply used your polar stealth suit.
You nodded, giving him back the binoculars.
"Race you to the bottom of the base" You said and jumped down the mountain side.
"Hey, no fair, you got a head start" He complained, shooting a grappling arrow down to the base of the base and grappling down after you.
When Roy first gave you the file you were skeptical, you didn't want anything to do with the League Of Shadows especially Project MOS, the project that created you.
20 years ago Ra's Al Ghul went looking for a way for his shadows to be able to go toe to toe with the super powered heroes that appeared. The original heroes, the Justice Society didn't bother Ra's. But the Justice League, that was an issue. They thwarted him and his plans and he couldn't have that so he tried to create his own super powered shadows. He recruited a team of scientists who slowly found and isolated a group of genes. They had dozens of test subjects. None of them were successful. Not until you.
To no one's surprise you won the race.
"Beat ya" You said cheekily and Roy rolled his eyes.
"You cheated and we both know it" He said but the smirk on his lips told you it was all jest.
The two of you snuck your way in, working together like a well oiled machine. Three months had passed since you'd so much as had a full conversation with him but the two of you worked as if it'd only been a few minutes.
You made it into the records room without raising alarm and began to look through the filing cabinets.
You groaned, having gone through another row of files, "I can't tell what kind of organizational system this is, we can't just spend hours sifting through this" you said.
"Stop complaining and just look" Roy said and you huffed. The next few minutes were quiet and then the sounds of a body hitting the floor.
"Red Arrow—" You said and gasped as you saw what was in front of you.
Shadows filled the halls, all standing behind a woman, Roy's body unconscious on the floor below her.
You took a step back and collided with the filling cabinets.
When Ra's Al Ghul found his team of scientists he put one of his own in charge, after all he had to make sure that this crew stayed loyal to him with their findings. The woman he placed in charge of Project A- Mother Of Shadows was a woman by the name of Lady Lilith. A Geneticist who claimed she could find the purpose of any gene.
"It has been a long time, my child, have you finally come home?" The woman asked.
"What have you done to him?" You asked, fear flowing into your posture and voice.
"He is only knocked out. He will be fine. You on the other hand... I thought I taught you better than to get caught" She said.
After 14 failed attempts to create her own superhumans Lady Lilith decided that the only way to succeed was to use new donors. Until that point they had only used eggs and sperm from specimens that held the group of genes they discovered were responsible for the development of superhuman abilities. None of the tests born of those specimens survived long enough. Instead they used Lady Lilith as a donor. She did not possess the superhuman genes. Instead She spliced together multiple of the previous donors to create a viable embryo.
The woman motioned for the shadows to enter and two took hold of your arms.
"Come now child, we have tests to run" The woman said. "And bring the other one, we would not want any harm to come to him"
Infinity Island 5 years ago
You stood panting and sweaty in your black stealth suit, the rest of the combatants lying dead on the ground of the training room floor.
Lady Lilith stood on the balcony above, watching happily.
"As promised Great One, a superpowered shadow at your disposal" She said, pointing at you.
You fell to your knees in exhaustion. Still panting heavily. You were only 10 years old. Your body wasn't designed for such extreme exertion though perhaps it was made for it.
"And is flight the only ability they have developed?" Ra's asked.
"Do not misunderstand Lady Lilith, this quite satisfactory but I only think, what use is flight alone against super strength or speed?" He continued.
"Give it time oh, Great One. It is still early and the genetic potential for more remains" She said.
League Of Shadows Base, Himalayan Mountains September 22, 07:07
You'd been poked, prodded and examined since the shadows brought you into what appeared the be the base's lab, strapped down to the table. Beside you Roy was laid out, the same tests were being done to him, or maybe they were different, you weren't sure but he too was poked and prodded.
"Alright child, up you go" The voice of Lady Lilith said over a speaker as the restraints around your wrists and ankles opened. You sat up slowly and looked beside you to Roy.
"What do you want mother?" You asked wearily.
"Oh stop asking these silly questions and get up" She said.
She led you out to a training ground where she pushed you down the stairs. As your body fell you jumped into the air, landing niceley at the bottom.
"Let's see just what Canary has taught you darling" She said and clapped her hands, a dozen shadows running out onto the training grounds around you.
The first one tried to tackle you. He failed miserably.
The next attacked with his sword, it soon became your sword and on and on it went, all the while Lady Lilith stood above and watched.
When the final shadows laid unconscious on the ground you looked up, panting.
"What are you doing to Red Arrow?" You asked and Lady Lilith smiled.
"It's so sweet how much you care for that boy, he came all the way here with you so I assume he knows your history, what a surprise how fine he is with it" She commented.
"What do you want mother?" You asked, disheartened.
"Oh it's not what I want dear. It's what you will give" She said.
"I won't come back!" You told her, surprisingly boldly.
"Oh darling we discontinued project MOS ages ago. We work with mercenaries now. Of course someone with your abilities can always come in handy" She said and you understood.
"And what would you do if I said no?" You asked but Lady Lilith laughed.
"well will you?" She asked.
"I'm not the person you trained me to be" You told her and her smile was eery.
"Darling child, if you want to believe a few years with some heroes can undo years of training as well as genetics be my guest but I'm sorry to tell you that unlike the surprisingly accepting Red Arrow the rest of your team may not understand as much" She said, slowly coming down the stairs.
"How do you?" You asked but she tutted and shook her head.
"You didn't think we'd just let Canary take you off without keeping a watchful eye? Before you decide think about what Aqualad would say about your past. What about Kid Flash? Or Robin?" She asked. Once she was close enough she took your face in her palm.
"Do you think the Justice League would trust you if they knew just how many people you've killed?" She asked and you tried to look away. The only ones who knew everything about you were Dinah and Ollie and this was exactly why it was important that it stay like that.
"What about Red Arrow? Does he know? Does he accept you anyway?" She asked and tears began to flow down your cheeks under your mask.
"Please just, don't tell them" You whispered.
"Of course not my child. I would never" She said and placed a small device into a pouch on your utility belt.
"Now, I think it's time you took your sidekick friend home, don't you?" She asked.
Half an hour later you were helping a barely conscious Roy back up a Himalayan mountain.
"We can't just leave" He tried to say but you shook your head.
"I don't care about the file. We were lucky the shadow that got you didn't have time to alert anyone else" You lied.
"Now come on, we're going home" You told him.

I just finished a Vig reread (again (again)) and something I noticed is that All Night's catchphrase is "I Am Here" while Koichi and Knuckleduster say "I'm Here". A more informal, personal variation.
Man, I got a lot to say about “I am here” (MHA) vs “I'm here” (MHAV) so thanks for this excuse!
In MHA, “I am here” is both a reassurance to people in need and a warning to villains. It reads: "Have no fear! I am here to help you!" While at the same time meaning: "I am here to stop you villains and save the day!" It is the catchphrase of All Might: The Number One Hero and it has that kind of hero marketability that we expect out of Pro-heroes.
The first time we hear “I’m here” in MHAV we need to remember the words preceding it. The full phrase is, “Well, All Might ain’t coming, but… I’m here!” And we need to remember that this phrasing is implicit every time we hear “I’m here” throughout Vigilantes.
When Knuckleduster is beating up on common criminals it’s: “Well, All Might doesn’t have time for you, but I’m here.” When Knuckleduster is holding the hand of his daughter in the hospital it’s: “Well, All Might may not have been able to save you, but I’m here.”
So, in truth “I’m here” in Vigilantes means: “I may not have the same power as All Might. I may not be as strong or as fast. I may not be the perfect hero he is, but I’m here and I’m going to try.”
“I’m here” in Vigilantes continually puts All Might up onto a pedestal. As do many other things in Vigilantes, for example, Koichi maintaining that only official All Might hoodies contain the divine Hero Blessing™️. All Might is used as the epitome of what a hero should be.
That’s why All Might initially wants Izuku to use the phrase "I am here" too. To tell the world that: “He is here!” and pronounce that Deku will be the next Symbol of Peace just as Toshinori was as All Might.
And all of this is especially interesting considering what both All Might’s and Knuckleduster’s apprentices do with their inherited phrases.
For my money, “I am here” in MHA is 1) corrupted by All for One and 2) not adopted by Deku.
During the Kamino battle All for One uses the phrase "I am here" to mock All Might. Spitting the catchphrase right back at him while he beats the tar out of All Might and the city. This eventually culminates into the "I am NOT here" sign worn by the All Might statue. The phrase is turned on it's head and used to demonstrate All Might's failure. Because he is "not here" the world has fallen into Chaos.
but he seems to be attempting to reclaim this phrase in recent chapters so we'll see where this all leads soon
(Just want to note that I'm speaking about this from an English-language perspective, cause I know that translations of this are not exact.)
Deku for his part, does not take up the phrase in the way All Might wanted him to. Demonstrating, I think, his desire to be his own hero and find his own words.
Koichi, however does something different. Instead of taking the phrase "I'm here" from his master Koichi iterates on it until it becomes: "For some reason, I'm still here. I'm still here with you." Koichi's "I'm here" version demonstrates a level of care for the person he is fighting, something that no other version of the phrase has.
In full it says, "I am not All Might, and I really shouldn't be here. But because I chose too, and because I have the will, I choose to be here for you."
And I love that all of that can come out of those little phrases. Thanks for the ask!

I wrote an essay on this topic, which is what the comic is based off of. If you care to read it it's beneath the cut , as well as my works Cited, and alt text.
This was a college English assignment, first the essay then the multimodal project. I wanted to share it with the internet people on my phone because this is something that is important to me. (i added it up and i spent roughly 40+ hours on this comic in two weeks, guys, the carpal tunnel is coming for me...)
i would also like to give a huge thanks to some of my best friends for helping me, @ellalily my wonderful talented friend who i love so much and adore their work. (i love her art so much). I know you'll see this, love you king <22223333.
and my partner, @totallynotagremlin . amazing artist and the person i admire every day. thankyou for helping me with this and listening to me rant about this project. i love you so much *kisses you on the forehead.
If anyone reads this, please go check out their art.
THE ESSAY
If you're not paying attention you could mistake AI art for art made by real artists. Many people use AI without much knowledge about it, thinking it's something harmless and fun. However, AI art has a real impact on the art community. AI art is largely harmful to the art community because it negatively impacts artists by stealing and plagiarizing their work.
Knowing how AI generators create art provides important context in understanding the negative impacts of AI-generated art and why it is bad. In an article by The Guardian, Clark L. explains, “The AI has been trained on billions of images, some of which are copyrighted works by living artists, it can generally create a pretty faithful approximation”. On its own, this doesn't sound that bad, and many fail to see the issue with this. However, the corporations training these AI art generators use artists' work without their knowledge or consent. Stable diffusion, an online AI art generator, has provided artists the option to opt out of future iterations of the technology training. However, the damage has already been done. AI is ‘trained’ by being fed images. It analyzes them. It works by being given large amounts of data and input codes. In an article by The Guardian, written by Clark L, there is a quote from Karla Ortiz, an illustrator, and board member of CAA, concerning this issue. She says, “It’s like someone who already robbed you saying, ‘Do you want to opt out of me robbing you?”.
Another article by Yale Daily News has several categories, the first being, “How does AI generate art”. As the heading explains, the first section of the article explains how AI text-to-image generators like DALL-E2 and Midjourney create images by “analyzing data sets containing thousands to millions of images” (Yup K.). In the same article, they cite an artist, Ron Cheng, a Yale Visual Arts Collective board member who is against AI because AI fails to obtain consent from artists before stealing their art. Cheng says “There are enough artists out there where there shouldn't really be a need to make AI to do that.” (Yup K.). The article says Cheng views AI as a tool but not at the cost of the people who spent their lives developing artistic skills.
Many artists feel that they should be compensated or that this should fall under copyright laws but because proving this machine-made art has taken elements of their style is so difficult, the AI companies get off with no consequences. For an artist to take action against an AI image generator, they would have to prove that one of their art pieces had been copied into the system which can be difficult. They would have to prove specific elements of their personal art style have been directly copied and prove that their art has been used and imitated without their consent. Many artists feel that this technology will take their jobs and opportunities in the creative field of work. Kim Leutwyler, a six-time Archibald Prize finalist artist, expressed her issues with AI companies stealing her art in an ABC news article. Leutwyler said that they had found almost every portrait they created, included in a database used to train AI without their knowledge or consent. They said it “feels like a violation” (Williams T.).
With AI art relying on, often, stolen artwork, and creating an interpretation of what it sees, it blurs the line between what is copyright infringement and what is not. In a BBC article by Chris Vallance, Professor Lionel Bently, director of the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Law at Cambridge University said that in the UK, “it's not an infringement of copyright in general to use the style of somebody else” (Vallance). Another point to keep in mind is that not many artists have the means to fight these legal battles for their art even if they wanted to. This same BBC article speaks about the Design and Artists Copyright Society (DACS), an organization that collects payments on behalf of artists for the use of their images. One quote helps illustrate their point, “I asked DACS’ head of policy Reema Aelhi if artists’ livelihoods are at stake. “Absolutely yes,” she says” (Vallance).
Another concern about AI mentioned in this article is deep fakes, porn, and bias. “Google warned that the data set of scraped images used to train AI systems often includes pornography, reflected social stereotypes, and contained “derogatory, or otherwise harmful associations to marginalize identity groups.” (Vallance). These are all important things to consider when using AI because an AI system can harmfully replicate biases and negative stereotypes because of what it learned. For example, if you input the prompt criminal, it is more likely for the image to be of a person of color. On the other hand, if you input the prompt, CEO, it is strongly probable that an image of an old white man in a suit will show up, not a woman, or a person of color. These stereotypes go much further and much deeper than just these two examples, but the AI recreates what it was taught and can follow patterns that are harmful to minorities.
Another concern many artists have is about their jobs and livelihoods. With how AI art has progressed in the past few years, it is starting to take opportunities from real artists. “It’s been just a month. What about in a year? I probably won’t be able to find my work out there because [the internet] will be flooded with AI art,” Rutkowski told MIT Technology Review (Clarke L.). Many of the articles I researched mentioned the Colorado State Art Fair, where an AI-generated image won first place. The BBC article written by Vallance talks about how a man (Allan) entered an AI-generated image mid-journey and won. Many artists were outraged by this and suddenly aware of how AI could take opportunities like these from them. The artists who entered this competition spent hours and hours on their pieces. As you can imagine they were angry, rightfully so, that an AI-generated piece that took no more than a few seconds won. There is a level of unfairness to this and many artists feel that AI should not be allowed in art competitions like this. It feels like they got cheated out of something they worked hard for. Nobody would let a robot compete in the Olympics or a cooking competition, so why should a machine be allowed to enter an art fair? AI could start taking jobs from artists working on animated projects, or taking commissions.
With AI’s ability to imitate a certain artist's style, some people may feel that they no longer have to pay an artist for work when they could just input a few words into a machine and get something done in seconds. There were artist and writer strikes in Hollywood, in part because of this. These creative people wanted to be paid fairly and have better working conditions, as well as a promise that not all of them would be replaced with AI. When SORA AI came out, I saw many artists online who aspired to have jobs in the animation industry, losing hope and motivation. A soulless and emotionless machine can rip away a lifelong hobby and passion.
Many artists were upset but Allen, the winner of the Colorado State Art Fair, stood by his point and said, “It's over. AI won. Humans lost” (Clark L.). The article quoted a game and concept artist, RJ Palmer's tweet, “This thing wants our job, it's actively anti-artist”. The article speaks of how artists often take inspiration from other artists, “great artists steal”, but Mr. Palmer said, “This (AI) is directly stealing their essence in a way”. In an article by The Guardian, Clarke L. writes about how AI art has raised debates on just how much AI can be credited with creativity. Human art has thoughts, memories, and feelings put behind it and takes a lot of skill, whereas, on the opposite end, AI art can't handle concepts like that. AI does not experience life like real people do. It does not have feelings or emotions and it can only think with the knowledge we give it. Since it cannot have these emotions, the art it creates will never have the emotions that art made by real artists has.
Cansu Canca, a research associate professor at Northeastern University and founder and director of the AI Ethics Lab said, “It is important to be mindful about the implications of automation and what it means for humans who might be ‘replaced’” (Mello-Klein, C.). She went on to say that we shouldn't be fearful but instead ask what we want from machines and how we can best use them to benefit people. The article says “With the push of a button, he was able to create a piece of art that would have taken hours to create by hand” (Mello-Klein, C.). Some artists said, “We’re watching the death of artistry unfold right before our eyes” (Mello-Klein, C.). In an article by the New Yorker, Chayka, K., started by giving three reasons why artists feel wronged by AI image generators that are trained using their artwork. The “three C’s”, they didn't consent, they were not compensated and their influence was not credited. The article states how it is hard for copyright claims based on style to get picked up because in visual art “courts have sometimes ruled in favor of the copier rather than the copied” (Chayka, K.). This applies to music as well, where some songs can sound similar but nothing will be done about it because they are different enough, or the source material was changed enough not to be seen as a complete copy. The article said, “In some sense. You could say that artists are losing their monopoly on being artists” (Chayka, K.). Some people are even hiring AI to make book covers instead of hiring artists.
While I am personally against the use of AI art as well as many of my artist friends, all people have their own opinions about the technology. The article by the New Yorker, written by Chayka, K, quotes Kelly Mckernan, who said they watch Reddit and Discord chats about AI. This provides opinions on some everyday people who aren't in the art field. on the situation and said, “They have this belief that career artists, people who have dedicated their whole lives to their work, are gatekeeping, keeping them from making the art they want to make. They think we’re elitist and keeping our secrets.” (Chayka, K.). I remember an acquaintance of mine said that he used AI art because he could not afford to commission an artist. Not everyone can afford to commission an artist and pay them fairly for their time. However, this does not mean artists should settle for less than their work is worth. Art takes time and that is time the artist could be doing something else.
Northeastern Global contacted Derek Curry, an associate professor of art and design at Northeastern, who gave his thoughts on the subject and he does not believe AI art will ever replace humans because technology has limits. “The cycle of fear and acceptance has occurred with every new technology since the dawn of the industrial age, and there are always casualties that come with change” (Mello-Klein, C.). The article goes on to say how auto-tune was once controversial but it has become a music industry standard. It's used as a tool, and AI art could be similar. It is true that with new technology, people always fear it before it is accepted. For example, the car. People feared it would take jobs and replace people, and this did happen, but it offered more convenience and opened up more jobs for people than it took. Now cars are used by everyone and it is almost impossible to get around in America without one because it wasn't made for walking, it was built around roads. There are many more examples of people fearing a new technology before accepting it, so this could be the case with AI, but for AI to be used as a tool and aid to artists, greedy corporations have to change the way they think about the technology. They have to see it as, not a replacement, but a tool. Big animation companies want to replace a lot of their human artists, who need their jobs to support themselves and their families, with AI. This prospect is something that is discouraging to artists who want to enter the animation field, which is already competitive.
The Yale Daily News (Yup, K.), cites Brennan Buck, a senior critic at the Yale School of Architecture. He uses AI as a tool to colorize and upscale images. He does not think AI is a real threat to artists. This is a very different take from most artists I’ve heard about and talked to. I can see how this technology can be used as a tool and I think that is one of the only right ways to use AI art. It should be used as a tool, not a replacement. Another way AI art can be used as a tool is to learn how to draw. New artists can study how art is made by looking at colors and anatomy for inspiration, though it should be taken with a grain of salt because AI tends to leave out details, and things merge and some details make no sense. These are all things real artists would notice and not do in their pieces. Young artists could also study the process of real artists they admire. Getting good at art takes years and practice. Seeing all kinds of different art can help with the learning process. On the topic of some people feeling like AI is not a real threat to artists, some people feel that eventually the technology will fade in popularity and will become more of a tool. Only time can tell if AI art will take the jobs of artist.
With everything being said, AI art is actively harming artists and the art community. Even if some artists like Brennan Buck feel that AI isn't a real threat to artists, presently, it is taking opportunities and jobs from artists and it will only get worse as the technology progresses. We need to prioritize real artists instead of a machine, a machine that will never be able to replicate the authenticity of living people's art that reflects their experiences and lives. Some artists use art to express and spread awareness of real-life issues. I have neurodivergent, transgender and queer friends who create art to show what it feels like to experience the world when it seems everyone is against you. I make art to reflect the beautiful things I see and read. I too am queer and fall under the trans umbrella term and I'm autistic, and I use art as a way to express myself through these things that make up my identity.
AI could never put the emotion that real people put into the things they create. Art is a labor of love and pain. Art like Félix González-Torres free candy contemporary art piece cannot ever be replicated by AI and have the same meaning. He “created nineteen candy pieces that were featured in many museums around the world. Many of his works target HIV”(Public Delivery, n.d.). The opinions and views on this, relatively, new technology differ from person to person. Some artists view generative AI art as a tool to utilize in their art while others see it as a threat and something that is taking away from artists. AI art can be used for bad, as it has and will be used to make deep fakes unless limitations are put on it. The AI systems are trained on thousands of images of real people and of art made by artists, all without their consent and most of the time, without their knowledge. On the other hand, some artists use it to aid their process and don't see the issue. Based on what I have learned, I do not think AI art is good, nor should it have a place in the creative job fields. Companies should not copy and steal work from artists. Artists work their whole lives to learn to create, and that should not be replaced by a machine.

I played it s'more!
I beat the pirates at Lurеlin after a hellton of attempts! I restored the village - that whole quest was so wholesome! I found the Lobster Tunic! I think this place might be my fav locale! Screw Hatеno and their monopoly on cheese, screw Tаrrey Town and their prefabricated houses, Lurеlin is my true home.
Had another very magical moment. So there're a few islands near the Great Sky Islands (which I keep calling the Sky Plateau in my head because reasons) that have a fairy spawn point. One of them has this system of two basins that you can drain to reach the chests underwater. One of them was the magic rod, an item I fell in love with ever since the artbook leak. And I managed to catch another Star Fragment on the way there! What a cool trip that was. The only disappointing part was when I decided to be charitable and replace the fish I caught there with some of my own before leaving (tried to scan amiibos, decided it was too cheaty for my liking, forgot to throw out the loot. Don't ask) and... they were all dead upon release. Cool. So frogs and insects in Link's pants are alive, but fish aren't?
Coordinates feature on the mini-map is so cool! I found myself hurrying to write down coordinates of some interesting places I spotted in other ppl's playthroughs so many times! I think this is the closest thing I'll experience to how NЕS Zеlda was designed with players sharing secrets in mind. This is how I actually found these fairy islands!
Overall, the Sky exploration reminds me of the Great Sea -- a scenic assortment of isolated islands with very little going on. Which I kinda like, don't get me wrong. Something about that aesthetic, the vast expanse of nothing around you, the golden flora, the somber music is really athmospheric. I don't know which of the three overworlds I prefer, all of them are neat.
Bird Gliders are way more useful than you might think, especially pre-Autobuild.
When I first saw pictures of ppl making statues of Gаnоndorf, I thought this was a mod, but apparently it's an in-game feature??? Weird but ok???? Maybe I dismissed Tаrrey Town too early. We'll see. Maybe I'll spend my post-game pretending to take my blorbo on dates or something. Maybe I'll show him his horse. Maybe I'll take him home to Gеrudo City. Maybe I'll pelt his sorry ass with apples.
Apparently Zеlda's dragon parts have some sort of healing properties? Is it anti-gloom effect? Yellow hearts? Can't wait to check.
Bad news: Nауdra Spoon broke, and the current iteration of it doesn't resemble a spoon as much due to the base weapon being a trident (something from a Royal weapon set? Idk, I don't play the game in English and I'm not bothered to check the name. It's one of the good weapons tho). Good news: I discovered that the Nауdra scale freezes enemies, so the name of the weapon changed to Ice Cream Scoop. Note to self: test whether or not the scale works fused to a magic rod.
One time I found a Yıga base in the Depths. Was very scared to trigger the fight with them and tried to be very careful. Stole all their bananas and sundelions - nothing happened. Read their diary - nothing happened. Only then did I notice two "researchers" standing on the opposite end of the base. Lol. Lmao, even. Have fun dying from the Gloom exposure, clowns.
But seriously, it's cool to see the Yıga being busy with research of the Depths and engineering and whatnot. Very true to their roots, I feel. Never expected to like them as much as I do in this game, bc I thought they were lame when we only had BоTW. Wanna join them so badly now.
Also Bееdle of all people is cool! He had this very profound line about how ppl shouldn't be scared of insects, and I was mentally shaking his hand. This man. This man understands. I wish there was Bееdle armor set.
Currently am stuck on the Great Plateau. Found my first Like-Like there -- discovered first-hand that they still eat your shield if you get eaten. Lovely. Their names were literally translated to "shield-eaters" in Russian, which... not false, I guess, but not as funny.
Horse experience time! So the first thing I did post-tutorial was a bit of shrine-hunting on Hyrule Field, realizing that I'll need a paraglider for one of them anyway, and going back to the Lookout. On my way I caught a lovely horse so I won't have to walk all that way, but when I got the paraglider I immidiately left the area to go and find Lurеlin, sad to leave my horse behind. Many hours and a Blood Moon or two later, I returned to the Lookout to trade in my Poe Souls for an armor, and just as I was warping away, I saw my horsey! She was there the whole time! I thought she despawned ages ago! And the worst part? Not only was there a stable very close to where I caught her, but there's a quest that becomes available later in the Lookout that can add a mini-stable to that place!
Anyway, I named the horsey Caramalon. Because she has caramel colors and reminds me of Mаlon. :з.
Finally got a semblance of free time to play the Recently Released Videogame! No plot discussions happen in this post, I just gush about the little things.
My experience is, uh. Suboptimal. I am grateful my laptop can emulate Switch at all, but when your average FPS is around 5, only gets as high as 12 and has a tendency to go into decimals or freeze, fast-paced combat gets hard.
Despite that, the gameplay is fun! All the abilities are such a blast, and compliment one another nicely: for example, I cheesed one part of a certain shrine by Ultrahanding a platform in one place in the air for a bit, then effectively Stasising it with Recall, then Ascending on top of that still-Recalled platform, and then getting additional height by shield-jumping on a shield fused with a spring. Just for funsies. The intended solution was to essentially shield-surf on a short straight rail.
God I love fusing springs to shields. Revali who. My Bomb Flower count is criminally low, as I haven't figured a way to dupe them w/o exploding, and I don't have consistent source of rockets yet, but the springs are relatively early-game and do their job pretty well!
You know what I love even more than that? Glitches :^). And they're finally easy enough for me, a total noob, to perform. I only duped materials so far, timing a frame-perfect weapon dupe on my suboptimal setup sounds hard... but I wanna try and transfer the legendary MsgNotFound one of these days. I was so lucky to find a diamond in one of the caves tho!
Did you know that the shrine lobby (a tiny area seen through the entry portal) can serve as a cover for your campfire during rainy weather? It made more sense in BоTW, as Shеikah shrines were more material, but beggars can't be choosers.
So far my playthrough fits the "feral Lonk" stereotype. Towns are laggy, so I mostly wander around the wilderness aimlessly. The overall plan is to grind the full second stamina wheel + activate a few towers, then go get the Heart Container from the Great Plateau quest, get the Master Sword, grind shrines for hearts and only then hit a couple of dungeons. After that, joining the Yıga is a must. I'm not even sure I'll be able to fight the dungeon bosses or G-man with how hard even the basic combat currently is, so my only hope is to be able to tank through damage.
I wanted to get the Lobster Tunic so badly, but the guys at Lurеlin keep kicking my ass :^(.
Sadly, it seems you cannot skip the first memory. The puddles just aren't anywhere inside the geoglyphs.
Fujibаyashi-san loves to put the "temporary equipment loss moment" in all of the series entries done under him (except MC), and in TоTK alone there's soooo many. It's a whole shrine subset now, not to mention the dedicated pantsless quest in the gazette storyline. Wonder how's the Еvеntide doing these days - judging by a chasm, it doesn't seem like a similar event will take place here.
Speaking of chasms on the islands... Remember the PH-themed archipelago in the wetlands? There's a chasm on Mercay island. You know. The island where the Temple of The Ocean King is located. Something about the way BоTW/TоTK genuinely appreciates DS games feels very vindicating. First Monster Cake being a chancellor's favourite dessert, then the Phantom armor being one of the most OP sets, and now this chasm.
I saw Flowerblight :з.
Ang got owned by the Floormasters Gloom Hands once. Not touching them with a sturdy-stick-stick before I get s'more hearts, I know what comes after.
The guy with the sign! Such a cute concept, and the rewards are always so generous!
Depths are weird. The flora is super cool, and the landscape is twisted to a degree that merely figuring out how to get from point A to point B becomes a nontrivial challenge. Collecting Poes is fun, and I love getting the uncorrupted weapons from the ghosts of the past. Everything else scares me shitless. Mostly
Catching a Star fragment mid-air feels downright magical. I know they were probably coded with exactly that method of aquisition in mind, but it always feels like such a lucky catch.
Saw Nауdra once. Got the scale. Fused it to a spear. Now the spear looks like a comically large spoon, and I can't keep a straight face when this thing pops across half a screen, so I never equip it, but don't unfuse it either out of respect for the comedy aspect. The only funnier weapon that I've got so far is the honeycomb boomerang I got from a monster camp (the idea is genius, and I have honeycombs to maybe recreate it later), which is currently fused to a surprisingly high-damage Boko arm.
Yeah, I'm not unfusing my comically large Nауdra spon until I get a camera and take a selfie with it.
I always feel bad when fighting the apple-collecting Bokos. They have tiny Boko baskets on their backs :^(. They're just little guys :^(.
PORTABLE COOKING POTS. AND MULTIPLE TRAVEL MEDALLIONS THAT AREN'T LOCKED BY A DLC. YES.
Purаh is the prettiest woman to grace this world.
