Awakener Kiolle Au

Kiolle awakens! But he has no idea that he does. So obviously mostly canon events, with Yuder noticing something off during the spar when they first met. Nahan doesn’t find out abt him being an awakened but if he did he’d freak tf out.

Now you may be wondering, how exactly has no one noticed he’s an Awakener? Well it’s because Kiolle’s power is luck. He can increase his own luck by decreasing others, but since its subconscious he manages to make both his and Yuder’s luck worse whenever they’re together. Yuder finds out at some point about his power (probably because Nipollen didn’t hesitate to approach him) and immediately goes hell instructor mode. He bullies the absolute shit out of Kiolle. Now Kiolle’s luck can do anything as long as it’s physically possible, and unfortunately for him he still can’t break off that contract. Instead he keeps accidentally getting info for Yuder (and not realizing it, the idiot that he is) and keeps getting into situations he’d rather not be in. I honestly don’t know where else to go with this, but Kiolle is such a clown that giving him this power and putting him in any situation is akin to watching a car crash.

it's really, REALLY hard to get me sincerely invested in relationships between female characters but damn am i invested in this one.

Something about a do-good heroine who is abnormally hostile only towards her own half-sister for seemingly no reason (read: "no reason") is a dynamic i can't get enough and seeing Lyla constantly make efforts in both the manhwa/LN to reach out to her is so bittersweet and yet amazingly well done

(and i can't praise enough how amazing Helene is handled as a deeply flawed female character!!! She's genuinely the best written female character ive seen and i wish more gals were written as amazing as she is TwT)

I love the thought process and all the details that go into the making of each and every scene/episode, Suol is such a talented artist! Her art keeps getting better and better, I can’t wait to see how she’ll keep on improving going forward! ^^

Suol’s attention to details is just something else (like how she kept Penelope’s strand of hair cut short, from the scene in the cave to the trial arc; or the rip on the side of the aforementioned dress, when Penny cut a piece to bandage Callisto’s arm), not to mention her art style, it’s probably one of the best I’ve ever seen!

Every time a new episode comes out, I legit don’t know where to look first because everything from the environment, to the clothes, to the characters themselves with their expressions (their expressions are gorgeous, you can always see what they’re thinking and feeling), is just so beautifully drawn. It takes me around half an hour to read a chapter fully because I keep on staring at every shot to catch all the details, and even then I keep on going back to stare at the characters 🥹 (and I may or may not spam a good 30 or more screenshots per episode)

Honestly all of this make me appreciate the manhwa even more, the wait is worth it every time!

VADD interesting fact about Penelope's latest outfit

On Twitter, SUOL-nim shared the sketch of Penelope's current outfit. She mentioned that this dress was a challenge for her since it would appear during a large part of the story.

She confirmed that the outfit is a metaphor for Alice and the White Rabbit, but it also mixed with some jellyfish-like elements to make it look pretty in the background of the sea and for a specific scene in episode 121.

Even she had to consider the space in the dress to make the ancient relic (the necklace) stand out. It was really a difficult challenge for her, but in the end she did it💗

Honestly it's hard to name an inspo but I do have artists I look up to a lot (this might be a bit long)

Kanisuke, you guys might be familiar with her, she's the artist of the upcoming yandere inside game Yandere Town. I know it's not out yet but I'm actually obsessed with this game and have even translated all the character intros (they are a bit old atp so there might be some mistakes) and actually if you see a Yandere Town related post high chance it's from me. Not only her art but I love her writing style as well.

Hakuri-sensei, their manga Sachi iro no One Room is definitely one of my biggest inspirations. I love the relationship between Sachi and her "captor" and it's the only manga I actually cried my eyes out while reading.

Tayu-sensei, all of their work for Yuugen Romantica (one of my fav drama cd series) are breathtaking and they've also developed even more since then, their current works are just so stunning and I love studying the way they draw hair

Shirahama-sensei, she👏is👏a👏queen👏 honestly I don't have much to say, go read Witch Hat Atelier it's an artistic masterpiece and a giant love letter to art itself

Furumi-sensei, another queen! She's the artist of my favorite Fate Grand Order character Ashiya Douman. I've even bough her art books before, honestly she is just so talented. I don't know what she was drinking when she came up with Douman but I need some of it

6/10, I absolutely hate her writting and has devolved into a mary sue who only reacts to everything around her while her mass of supporters never shut up about great she is. Her synopsis claiming her as someone who loves all her subjects gets contradicted when its shown she doesnt really care about the slaves.

BUT in season 1 she wasn't bad, I liked her resolve and it was when she actually cared for her people, I feel like if we got to see a clear backstory beyond "she wasn't allowed outside when she studied to be empress" I would understand her total apathy more.

7/10, I adore villains, especially villainous protagonists and at first I liked the idea she wouldn't be any better than her family but still had a soft spot for Arabella, she loses a few points because it turns out she's excused for killing people before in the name of "love" and is viewed as someone who can do no wrong.

10/10, she's like Navier but better, she has more noticeable flaws and while she is a kick ass warrior during the tower arcs she still is human and can't always take it alone without consequences, she acknowledges Diane's struggles and makes an effort not to be her enemy and is proof that you dont need to make FL overpowered gods to be strong women. A beautifully made FL in a underrated story

1/10, She doesn't divorce her husband despite the title literally being "I will divorce my tyrant husband." But that's more of a problem in most other manhwa. She's too much of a perfect epic goddess for me and most of all she does the whole "buying all the slaves but giving them a home." to make her look even better, what is with manhwa and inserting slavery for no other reason other than to make the FL look better?

Other than being a mary sue and a personality that only revolves around the latest sexy man, she legit forces another guy to join her haram by threatening diplomatic war on his kingdom and bodyshames her fiance but all of a sudden wants him more than ever when he loses weight, it took a random chick being inserted with a 🍇ist persona to make her look "better."

6/10, in any other story, this girl would've been despised by the fandom for being a homewreaker/pick me. She gives me so much second hand embarrassment but she's not terrible, I actually really like her design too. Not a fan of the kidnapper-hostage relationship she and the ML have though.

Oh god. I don't know a show that well to be that obsessed. Videogames, sure, but shows or books? Uh... Have a manhwa, I guess? Beware of the Villainess go.

SINCE the ending of the main fic had darling kidnapped, we'll change this one to where Ignatius hasn't done that yet.

You were so intent on looking at your phone reading a chapter of your favorite manhwa, Beware of the Villainess. You heard it's going to have a play adaptation.

Sure, you don't know how that would work, but you know damn well you won't pass it for anything!

You don't really care for plays, but this is going to be an exception.

Especially as you pass by the panel where Nine, the male lead of the manhwa. You had a silly grin on your face as you looked at him.

A lot of people don't like the manhwa, cuz it's apparently boring, Melissa, the FL didn't have that much chemistry with Nine, etc.

You didn't care though. This is your comfort manhwa. So why would they care? You absolutely adore the characters, loved how strong Melissa is and is not a pushover, Yuri for breaking away from the stereotype of being a two faced bitch, and Nine for breaking away also from the stereotypical "cold and harsh" male lead.

This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's yours. And you're content.

As you read, your director painfully jabbed your side, making you sharply intake a breath.

"What the f... Oh." You flinched from your director's pointed look as he pointed at the stage where the actors are waiting for the lights to go out. "Sorry..."

The director rolled his eyes (unaware of somebody's gaze that was about to kill him on the spot) before berating you.

"Pay attention! We're literally on the last week of our rehearsals! You better keep your phone..." Your director grabbed your phone away from you, making you yelp in surprise. "... Away from you!"

You pouted, suddenly feeling sad before paying attention to the technicals in front of you, turning off the lights.

The scuttling of feet on the stage were heard as you put your chin on your hand, and your free hand on the lever to turn on the lights on a dim.

Hours later, when rehearsals are done, you stretched your body and snatched your phone away from the director.

Giddily hopping away, you got to one of the seats on the theater and snuggled up. For the next rehearsal set, you were not needed since all they had to practice was lines. So, more time for you to read.

As you scrolled down on a forum about the play for BOTV, you felt a presence beside you and you flinched again, not expecting company.

When you looked up, you were surprised to see the genius of the troupe.

"Oh, Ignatius." You were baffled. "Uh, hi."

Ignatius smiled calmly. His eyes didn't express that much, that's for sure. It was almost eerie how he's always so calculated. He's talented, and fools everyone with this main persona of his. But you know that he's more to it. That he's actually quite the--

"You got in trouble?" He asked in a light, amused tone. "That's new. What happened?"

You flushed red. "Ah, uh... Well, I was reading this."

You raised your phone, showing the forum you're reading.

"Well, there's this manhwa... I mean, like it's a webcomic? A Korean webcomic. It's named Beware of the Villainess and it's having like a play adaptation. It's like my favorite manhwa ever and it's so mindblowing that... Uh... Sorry."

You slowed down from babbling about BOTV when you realized you were rambling to Ignatius of all people.

But he looked like he didn't mind.

He really didn't. He knows all about your obsession with it after all. Even getting irrationally jealous of Nine.

"I know right! It's amazing. I've been reading it too! But it's kind of weird. I mean how are they going to do it? But it's quite nice to see such a cute manhwa getting a play adaptation of all things!" Ignatius started to ramble too, making you gasp in the sudden newfound camaraderie. "But it's in Broadway. It's really hard to get an audition..."

Ignatius jolted, realizing he let that slip out. "I mean.. I wasn't thinking of auditioning..."

You, in your buzzed high, held his hands tightly with a sparkle on your eye. "Yes! Audition please! You would do an amazing Nine!" You were practically beaming from the news.

Ever since you heard Ignatius being interested in the same thing as you do, you forgot that he's fake, and all you could think about is that you found a shared interest with the troupe's star.

Ignatius heart almost stopped. You were so close to the point that he can smell your scent. It smelled heavenly, and his shocked face almost cracked and slipped. His resolve dissolving as fast as salt on hot water.

"Y-yeah? You think so?" His voice, breathy and light, felt so distant from your happy ones.

"Yeah! I know you could! You're really insanely talented!" You grinned, before standing up to gush more. "You're like really handsome too, and has this air the same as Nine, so yeah! You will pass it!"

Ignatius, for the first time, clammed up from the compliments. And it's coming from you too.

"I-I will audition then! Sure, why not." Ignatius smiled, heart pounding. "I'll do it."

Then maybe you'll idolize me like those others.

He watches you gush and excitedly bounce in place.

Put your attention on me. More. More of it.

He clenches his fist.

He has to land that role. No matter what.

me every goddamn time: THEY HAVE SO MUCH CHEMISTRY HOW THE FUCK DO THEY HAVE THIS MUCH CHEMISTRY

It's so so so SO fun watching this entire meeting and how they both seem to constantly be in a little dance of sorts wherein Paris openly declares his interest in her and Helene keeps shutting him down ("You should come to Kylon. We won't overwork you the way your family does" -> "I don't have time to indulge in a life with people who don't think" -> "well that's good because i think about you so much i can't sleep"-> "and? get to the point already". like jfc he's not fucking vague about this At All).

But the best part is, for offstandish and disinterested as Helene is towards Paris (with her words cold and blunt towards him), it's really hard to deny that there isn't some interest on her part without there really being interest on her part (which is. confusing i know but. in context. oh. my god. she's a queerplatonic icon around Paris and i adore her for it)

My favorite thing to see in this scene is the way Paris reaches for Helene's face, casually brushing the back of his fingers against her cheek and through her hair (while commenting on how being this close to her makes his instincts spike with unease), and the moment Helene downs him she does the same exact gesture to him, lifting up his chin and brushing the back of her fingers against his face similarly. Which. Wow. I need more female antagonists to do this shit it is literally so cool to see.

Also the way Helene and Paris constantly are gauging each other is so neat. The way Helene tells Paris to "not long for what he can't have" (i.e. herself) is so neat. The way Paris is clear about his interest in Helene and she in turn matches that interest by toying with him in a way she's done with no one else in the cast is just. there is sooooo much there between them and i greatly enjoy whatever the fuck kind of chemistry it is they share because it is literally the epitome of what i crave in ships

Note #2: I have a type. Dominant sadistic actual black flags (or just 'checkered' since I come across that more often, which is basically like 'Try Begging' or 99% of web novels level to me). Those what people can call 'abusive' even. Basically they're not afraid to hurt the darling at all, or even kill the darling. So, you won't really find puppy submissive yanderes, or subs here in general, sorry. Though, some of the recommendations can be fluffy, or comedy, so yeah. And even recommendations for 'not torture porn', like how the usual Dominant yandere works (doesn't have to be the sadistic kind). Actually, I rarely find loyal sadist Dom yanderes.

Note #3: I have an extremely high tolerance for anything controversial, taboo, etc. Just dark, tragic shiz, basically. What people call 'torture porn', that's vanilla ice cream to me. Literally vanilla. I like reading the fudged up in the dark psychological genre the most, so it already tells something about my tastes.

Note #4: I haven't updated some of these recommendations in a long while, I've had this library for more than 6 years already. So, yeah. Tastes can change.

im sorry for the lack of tae fics in this but i gen dont rmr any tae fics i read on ao3, only on tumblr 😭 if ur not familiar with @/prolixitae on tumblr, she wrote my most fave tae fic ever which is called "fate of the fast and furious" and make sure to check out the drabbles and extras about the couple as well!!!

First Date: Your first date is definitely a laid-back setting despite the fact that internally Mingi's heart is going💗 partially inspired by his post-movie confession, he takes you to a comic book café. It’s his favorite thing in the world just shuffling nonstop between superhero comics and manhwa alike, pointing out your favorite panels, sharing amazement over hero prowess, and making jokes about corny love scenes…even if Mingi is wishing to live them out with you 👉🏻👈🏻

First Time Holding Hands: Just sort of…happens! You’re walking down the street toward dinner one second, hand encased in Mingi’s tight, warm grip the next. Following his rapid stream of excited words, yet another reminder you’re dating a rapper, you trail your eyes along your jog’s path to see a couple with a really cute dog. “Sorry, I got excited,” Mingi tells you sheepishly, giving you one of the adorable smiles you love so much. Grinning, you shake your head. “Don’t be!

First Kiss: “Hey, look! A shooting star!” “What, where?” “There, silly!” Mingi points to the sky, a dark canopy of glitter suspended miles above you. Giggling, you let your head fall onto his shoulder. “I know that!” “Well, did you know that if you see a shooting star, you have to kiss?” You flush. “Says who?” “Says me,” Mingi replies, hand reaching to your cheek as he presses his lips to yours.

First ‘I Love You’: Another accidental milestone! This time it’s after a movie, Mingi’s eyelids fluttering him into the realm of sleep as he holds you tight, you having surrendered to your new role as his pillow. When you finally convince him to go to bed, turning in his big-spoon hold to whisper one final good night, that’s when you hear the words. “Good night. I love you.” All you can do is smile. “I love you too, Mingi. Sweet dreams.”

First Fight: “What do you mean you forgot?” “I- I don’t know, I thought it was next week?” “You didn’t think to maybe, I don’t know, write down our hundred days date night?” “It just slipped my mind, (y/n), but I promise I’ll make it up to you!” At first, you give him the silent treatment, but it hurts to watch him boil at the sharp words that followed. After cooling off yourself, you approach Mingi again sheepishly, taking his hands and apologizing as you plan a makeup date that has anticipation flowing back into your heart.

First Anniversary: Six months is the first time you really feel you guys have a big milestone due to the hundred days mishap. Mingi’s so cute, though, because he literally goes above and beyond, getting the whole day off to show up at your door the moment you’re all ready, flowers and a plush of your favorite character in hand! After that, it’s off to explore the city and share your favorites for lunch and later dinner while Mingi showers you with words of love 😌

First Pet: Mingi is a cat person! He loves cats and has gone on record saying he loves a fluffy fat cat, the cuteness and taste on this man ☺️ naturally this calls for the greatest birthday surprise of his life, the chunkiest orange fluffball of his litter! His nickname is 뚱뚱이, but you named him Jimmy because it just fit somehow hehe 🩷
