Tobias and Elijah have such a Sherlock-Watson dynamic. 😭 I didn't even realize it until yesterday when I read a part where Sherlock asked Watson if he's free and upon learning that he is told him to thoroughly study the art of ancient Chinese pottery by tomorrow morning, to which Watson agreed without asking anything bc surely there'd be a motive for that. That's Tobias' random ahh self and poor Elijah going along w it bc even if he were to ask for an explanation he wouldn't receive any

Just do what you're told brother it'll save your time and effort #This is a lose lose lose situation for him bc 1) if he obeys then Tobias basically gets what he wanted while being a bastard #2) if he doesn't obey he might be ruining some humongous schemes Tobias has thought up and he'd rather die than do that #3) if he does obey but asks for info first he'd be amusing Tobias thru his cluelessness and still wouldn't receive an answer 😭#Tobias at 2 am before bed on a Tuesday out of nowhere: Hey. I'll need you to become fluent in Japanese by Friday okay. Good night #Elijah; tired of this guy but not tired enough to leave him on his own: Ok #Sometimes these oddities extend to Tobias himself too. You catch him studying extensively about bees one day #And he doesn't elaborate. A few days later you find out he needed that knowledge bc a guy he was hunting was really into bees #and he went ahead and contacted him as a fellow bee lover instead of as a criminal 😭😭😭 brother what the fuck is your whimsical life #Thank god Elijah is a genius too and typically figures what's up after a while so he can explain it to everyone else #bc on god Tobias would not bother explaining shit to anyone unless he really likes them and they wouldn't budge otherwise
