A Revali Fanfic Recommendation

I urge you all to put your life on hold for a moment and go read this brilliant fanfiction:

You think you've read a champions revival fic before? This will have you saying "how the FUCK have I not seen this before" and completely change the way you view everything (mild exaggeration. m i l d). Do you like grumpy dad teba? Do you like revali swallowing his pride? Do you like revali immediately spitting his pride back up and being a bitchy bird? Do you like mipha and revali as gossip buddies? Do you like the complete and utter fool revali makes of himself everytime he so much as hears the name link? Do you like people seeing right through his facade and calling him out on it?

AND NOT TO MENTION THE WORLD BUILDING??? this fic is so in depth of the political climates, racism, lore, changes in culture during times of war, colonisation, biology of the races and just fucking everything?? It adds so much life to the world of hyrule I am genuinely shocked at how much this person clearly loves these games (botw/totk/aoc) and they are able to incorporate all of this amazing information in a way that flows so naturally and just hhrnngngg I am fucking insane about it. THE SCIENCE, oh my god how did I forget all the wonderous thoughts surrounding the divine beasts and the sheikah tech, oh god and how they write the magic system? Guys I swear it's so good.

Characterisation is on point, everyone feels so full of life and that they are reacting exactly how you would expect them too, and they just seem so real, like they are right beside you as you're reading. The author does an IMMACULATE job of drawing you in and making you feel a part of the story, all the while being just beautifully written?

Don't get me started on the attention to rito culture. I have never seen someone pour so much love into something before, genuinely on of the greatest things I've seen. I've always had a fascination over how the races of hyrule view each other, similarities and differences, how their cultures and histories intertwine, and conflicts that may arise. But oh. my. god. My jaw was on the floor every time, it's so rich and beautiful but not without the horrors (and oh god, they are Horrors tm) and again it's just so real!!!

Be warned, however, that there is gore and viscera and terror and hurt and war crimes and death (duh), but for each terrible thing to happen it is repaid tenfold in love and kindness somewhere down the line. (Unless you are into hurt no comfort, then sorry buddy!) It is a beautiful narrative and the exploration of trauma and self is mind boggling and just go read it!!! 😭 😭 😭 I just love this fic so much, it has instantly sky-rocketed to one of my top 3 favourite fics I've ever read, and I'm so grateful to have found it and now be along for the ride that if I could bring that to one more person then by god I will fucking do it

So for me personally he’s very. Socially inept. Not in a ‘cute soft anxiety boy’ way but in the way that he will come off either deeply unsettling by staring at you in silence or like a total fucking asshole. Spent his entire childhood severely bullied and ostracized so any sort of slight against him, he will take personally and gets easily frustrated with himself for not handling situations/social intricacies smoothly

I HC that he has some pretty severe scarring on his face from being ganged up on as a kid, which only furthered him being an outsider to other kids/teens growing up so he wears his hood or some sort of facial covering on base as well. Severe trauma and all that. 

Most definitely has a criminal record from when he was a kid and fought back against a bully after said incident and ended up just getting tunnel vision and…destroying that poor kid. The case was either sealed because he was a minor or expunged completely because the argument was that it was in self defense and he had the scars to prove their previous assaults on him. Nonetheless. It left him fucked up. 

Shifting from being the defenseless kid being harassed and bullied to a bloodied teenager that now knows his strength and his capabilities in defending himself. Ough. 

Part of the reason he sheds his insecurities on the field. He’s able to not worry about being watched or ridiculed and just go full fucking ham and he loves it. Part of the reason why his voice lines are so shrieky and gloating. I love it lmao. 

If you’re on his side/somebody he considers to be an ally/friend? He may not talk much but will sort of…loom about. Small interjections here and there but overall just this shadow following you around- not that you mind. 

Will look over at you when he does something successfully for a bit of praise like ‘hey? Did you see that? Wasn’t that cool? Please tell me im cool’ without saying it outloud. 

I’m not sure if him being 6’10 is genuine canon (i can’t remember where I saw that if im being honest) but id imagine given how tall he looks finding clothes that fit him are a fucking pain. 

DIY king. At his height and size he will have to do the occasional alterations on his clothes. Grew up with a single mother who did her all to give her baby boy a good life which meant teaching him how to sew from a young age, a small hobby he would partake in while sitting at his mother’s side and beam bright when she told him he was doing a good job. 

Enjoys being in the wilderness quite a bit. 

I imagine him to be a ginger for some reason. His hair isn’t too long but enough that he can tie it up so it doesn’t get in his face. If you become close enough to him that you can see him without his hood on, please run your fingers through his hair he will reach nirvana. 

I’d also imagine that after spending so long covering his face, being without it feels. Weird. A touch overstimulating at first too.

No, stop. Imagine going from a world where you’re not allowed to become emotionally attached to anything and you’re proned to violence for survival. Then you go form that to an emotionally distant and neglectful father who has been proned to violence since his 20s and has you go straight into breaking criminal necks in yellow suits.

Mind you, the only person who thought it’s be a good idea to have Damian completely taken out of their lives as they were was Talia Al Ghul. She wanted to give him up to adoption in secret so he wouldn’t have to grow up in the league or with Bruce Wayne.

Imagine your parents love you to death but just that, it’s always to death: they can never just show you like a normal person what loves supposed to be. They always gotta show it differently and how confusing that must be for a child?

We simply do not ignore the bad things Bruce does to Damian like we do Talia but I do and I always will. The morrison run was too important to Damian’s story to ignore and City of Bane, etc was too important an event to ignore. Fortunately, we have cognitive thought and can determine what’s in character and that even bad actions doesn’t mean these characters just always had bad intentions. Damian will always be their baby boy, they love him so much but unfortunately… they love him in a way that accommodates for both their seperate missions… which is why he’s so between two worlds…

I truly couldn’t like Talia, Bruce and Damian if they were exempted from all bad action; it’s fun only when there’s complexity… I don’t read these comics for family feels anyway but I also take this things head on because well, they did them and it can’t be ignored how we wish it could.

I do actually!! She's been on my mind a lot recently, so here's what I have for her :D

(I'm probably going to include some of my other headcanons just because I feel like they fit here as well if that's okay!)

Baby Regressor! Vanessa

She's not quite sure what her age range is, though she does know it's pretty small. Mainly because it's before she can remember all the things that happened with her family, so with being pretty young at that state, it's between 0-3.

Very independent, "I can do it myself !!" I feel like she wouldn't really care about having a caregiver, like it's not something she thinks she needs, but won't say no if it happens.

Because of that, she has trouble letting her guard down around others when she's regressed (mainly Mike). Feeling that vulnerable around someone else reminds her of when she was a kid, so it's hard for her to trust that he won't do anything to her.

Dealing with the trauma of everything is hard on someone that's as small as she is. Her brain doesn't know how to process it all and it takes a toll on her both mentally and emotionally. Sometimes she just cries and doesn't know why, but aside from that, she's not really an explosive or overly emotional kid. Mainly a little bit more sensitive than anything.

Is a little nervous when it comes to him acting like a sort of parental/brother figure towards her. She hasn't experienced that in a long time and ever since she's worried it would turn out just like her relationship with her father. That she'll be rejected, taken advantage of, or forced to "grow up."

Mike, being the ever-patient guy he is, wishes he could get rid of those feelings for her. He'd never hurt Vanessa and despite how much she questions it, he still reassures her that he won't.

Will tag along with him anytime she can. He's pretty much the one person she trusts with this and will take up any chance to be around him. Since she's content to pretty much sit and sleep or watch, he doesn't mind.

He also gets much more protective over her when she's little. It could be something as small as seeing a bug in the house or crossing the street, but whatever it is, he's making sure she's alright. That's his baby and though he's still figuring it out, he'll do anything for her.

Very tired kiddo, but hates sleeping alone. She spends most nights (if they aren't with each other) on the phone with Mike or falling asleep together (which happens more often than the former.) And he, having a similar problem, is cool with it either way.

Has a plush bunny (and later on, all the other animatronics) that she keeps with her at all times. It's small enough to fit in her pocket, so she can bring it in to work whenever she's having a rough day.

While her skills aren't as good as they normally are, she still loves to draw with Abby when she feels old enough to. Most of the time they're just scribbles and she's proud of it either way.

S O many forts. It's not even funny. They're her favorite spot to be in and there's no stopping her and Abby from building them.

Speaking of which, it was difficult in the first place to tell Mike about her regression, and it was even more so when it came to Abby. She was a kid and Vanessa didn't expect her to understand it, plus she worried that it would freak her out. They didn't exactly say it was that, but they pretty much put in a way that made sense to Abby. And she didn't mind, she was actually happy to have someone to play with, even if it wasn't someone exactly her age.

She never had a ton of pet names growing up, so Mike takes advantage of that. Mainly variations of her name like "Nessa", and he calls her ones he finds silly or funny. Like "Peanut" or "Munchkin." He does have a favorite though and ends up calling her "Little Lady" most often.

Much more comfortable with PDA/touching in general when she's little. Even if it's just small, subtle things like holding each other's pinkies or holding hands. It helps her feel safer to know that someone else is there like "Hey, I got you." And it helps both her and Mike open up more to each other by doing it.

・And a part of that was realising how much she had lost. Particularly, how much she missed Lady. 

・So, that’s what sparked your desire to find one for Sansa. You thought she deserved another chance of connecting to a direwolf. And hopefully her warging abilities would work once again. 

・Two and a half years later, you found a litter of direwolf pups on the outskirts of Winterfell. Three to be exact. 

・The mother was on her death bed and you couldn’t bare to see her suffer. 

・You asked a maester to treat the animal (much to their dismay). But animals held a big piece of your heart. 

・Mirculously all four direwolves were healthy, and you felt overjoyed but overwhelmed. How would Sansa react? You were only expecting to present her one. But now four? 

    The Queen in the North found your note and trekked down to the stables, where the three pups and mother had been kept. 

・ “Wha-what is this?” Sansa was shocked. Not entirely comprehending wat was before her. 

  “A ... surprise!” You said half-heartedly. 

・And she was surprised. 

・And...she cried. 

・All those traumas escaped through her tears, and she did something you had never seen her do. 

・Sansa, who bowed to no one, who held her head high, stalked towards them (she wanted to run but didn’t want to scare them) and fell to her knees. 

・She sobbed as she held the babies, who howled and cried, nuzzling themselves in Sansa’s arm

   “I’m keeping them all,” she said through tears of both grief and joy. 

・You nearly started crying at the sight. And wanted to run over to her, but instead, you let her have her moment. She deserved it. 

・And in that moment, Sansa could feel her family. Her mother, Robb, Rickon, and her father. She stayed in that stable for over an hour. Sobbing into the fur of the mother direwolf.

・When Ghost came up to the vendor, his red eyes glowing, he sniffed one ferret in particular and looked at Jon, did a certain motion with his head (that you told Jon was a nod) and walked away. 

・Jon was put off by the animal. He thought it looked too ... unworldly. 

      “Like a deformed cat,” Jon had said and you scolded him

“But it’s cute. And she can fit in my pack.”

・Jon sighed and paid the vendor, who thanked you generously and stashed the money without telling you one important bit of information

・The ferret was pregnant.

・Everyone would be able to differentiate this cat from the others in King’s Landing because around its neck is a collar made of gold. Solid gold. 

・It’s not too heavy and is clasped in a lock which only Cersei has the key

・Cersei’s eldest son never liked animals much, but he especially hated the one that held his mother’s affection 

・Every night the cat would find its way into Cersei’s bed, sleeping at the end of it. 

・However, if anyone else was in the bed besides Cersei, the pretty feline would not enter

・Brienne tried to shoo it away. She even resorted to throwing sticks at it (lightly throwing). But it didn’t deter the young wolfhound 

・By the end of the week, Brienne had started hunting for two, rather than one.

・She’d cleaned and wrapped its leg with a spare shirt, and hand-fed it her food.

・When she finally returned home, with a sheepish look on her face, you knew something was up. But you thought something awful had happened. Maybe she wasn’t able to reach Queen Sansa in time for the meeting. 

・But it wasn’t something serious at all. 

・Just a malnourished pup who had trusted a white-haired knight and ended up with the perfect family.

・It wasn’t until he had personal growth, and a part of that was from meeting you. And the overarching factor of his growth was due to leaving Cersei

・Now that he’s ready to settle down, to have a life of his own, the thought of a pet was prevalent on his mind 

・Like a practice run for a baby

・Because he never got to look after the children he had with Cersei

・So with you, whether you bore his child or you both adopted one, Jaime wanted to take a step back and have a pet in preparation

・Together you brainstormed for weeks, thinking of the best pet. You wanted a dog, one that would grow big and strong. That would scare off anyone that would do you harm. 

・All Jaime could think of was the slobber, and the hair, and the size of the poops. 

    “Oh Jaime, please! It’d probably smell better than you,” you winked at him and he chuckled.

Smirking he snaked his arms around your waist and pulled you tight against him, “and yet, you still let me sleep in your bed.”

Gurl, let me do you one better regarding mpreg Pit Babe :)

Pregnant babe won't happen because we have: Charlie's arc in becoming Enigma by the drugs he uses in S1. (Even if Way is not the bad guy, Tony, the rich evil bastard who might very well dabbled in Experimental drugs and experiments of children to make himself powerful and immortal, IS so to stop him... Enigma Charlie? Hell yes!), Tony and Way are not dead and on their asses with a vendetta. Babe has fears (child abandonment, not being good enough parent, daddy issues, kidnapping, lingering trust issues, and maybeee toxic masculinity and body image issues? Who knows! ).

To me, the most logical thing would be Charlie and Babe's story arc in S2, which is them getting over their issues. Defeating baddies. Finally having peaceful life at the end of the series, and then Babe can ask him the same question that Charlie asked after they became boyfriends. "Do you want to have a child?"

The other logical thing is if they DO introduce Omegas, then Jeff is an omega (either he hid the fact due to society or the bastard Tony OR Jeff didn't know) and becomes pregnant. Alan pretty much hypervents and is scared shitless of parenthood.

Jeff on the other hand has soo much potential to have an angsty arc!

Tony is alive, and if he finds out, then Jeff and the baby's life is in danger.

Jeff sees a premonition where he gets kidnapped, OR someone kidnaps the baby from the crib.

His powers take a toll on his body and mind since he sees premonitions regarding X hunter family and Alan, where they are in constant danger.

Tony could either be dead, and his presence is a hallucination induced by Way, who is very much alive because Enigma powers! (remember, we don't know much about how powerful they could be) or Tony could be alive because an evil rich bastard like him who doesn't care about human lives, sells people especially children dead or alive. (And breeds and teaches them like animals) DO YOU REALLY THINK such an evil shit gonna be like "hmm.. let me just sell these super powered children and not think about my mortal life"

I bet my non-existence balls that he not only sold those children but also lobbied companies and scientists who experiment on healing or ways to make oneself immortal.

Just imagine how terrifying he becomes! From an evil bastard who does inhuman stuff ==> to undefeated evil bastard who does inhuman stuff and will never die no matter how much bullet you use and can easily buy powerful people in governments because he doesn't waste any resources (even the dead people) and he's filthy rich.

P.s. by the way, I think Babe's dad freed them. My theory is that he either is a cop (post-losing childBabe) or works in an organization that protects special alphas. So we have three groups: X hunter family (protagonists), evil duo (antagonists), and suicide squad trio (trying to prevent shit from happening)

omg now that you mention it i can definitely see tony working on a way to be immortal. it just fits the bill. i’d be excited to see charlie become an enigma and honestly doubt they’d introduce omegas this far down the line unless it heavily affects the storyline.

i can see how mpreg logically isn’t going to happen in s2 but i also feel like logic isn’t the way to go with this show. esp with the trailer showing not one but two dead and buried ppl alive. but if we are considering logic, s1 was about babe, the heartless racer, learning that he’s allowed to love and be loved in return. the reason he felt that he couldn’t be is the trauma of being sold by his family and brainwashed by his friend. s1 was about him overcoming those things and opening his heart to love in spite of them. in that way i do feel like its logical to think that s2 features babe’s character growing enough to also open his heart up to making a family of his own. funny enough i actually don’t think season 2 will have mpreg. i don’t think they’re brave enough. but i would love to be proven wrong.

I'll go through them! I did a little too much writing last week and haven't managed much at all this week. No idea whether I need to rest and recharge or just get a bit more inspired LOL. But I can share some snippets—I write in chunks in the first draft stage so they're a bit everywhere, and these bits might not even make it into the final :')

Exchange Student AU

This is actually the prompt you gave me about a little Newt seeing Theseus and Percy together and being his accepting self!

A Second Person? Visiting the Scamander household?  Well—Second Person wasn’t trailing in. He seemed very confident and self-contained. In fact, Newt has always thought Theseus was exactly like that; but next to this shorter, dark-haired stranger, Theseus suddenly looked coltish and far too smiley. Newt clicked through the settings and accidentally zoomed in far too much on the stranger’s expensive-looking scarf.  Why does he want to spend time with Theseus? Newt mused, as most seven-year-olds with older siblings sometimes do: sure that his brother could hang the moon and stars if he tried, but chagrined by the pure bossiness their relationship seemed to entail enduring. 

Thesival Dogs

It's a one-shot (with several chapters LOL, I don't know if that stops it being a one-shot anymore). I started drafting this in a frenzy over four days because I felt bad about how kmim Theseus never really finds a partner he's comfortable with again. Losing those feelings of intimacy and trust forever hurt me. So, it's set sometime after the end of the election in kmim and kind of diverges from the rest of the outline I have planned for that long story. Theseus and Percival get into a sort of casual-sort of not relationship complicated by their respective traumas. When Percival accidentally triggers Theseus while they're working on a case together, they have to get through it and figure out how to re-negotiate the physical stuff. It goes well—well enough that Theseus accidentally summons his Patronus (a borzoi). But after Percival summons his (a German Shepherd) too, as a joke, the dogs stick around, so they spend the next day figuring out how to make them dispel and thinking about their relationship.

Nearer the start:

Each like a damning indictment—because of him, it could never be long term. Because it’s you, Theseus imagined, because it’s you, and it’s me, they could tangle their broken bodies together, but they couldn’t fix them.

Nearer the middle:

"Tell me how you imagined it," Percival demanded, voice roughening.  "I, ah..." Theseus faltered, uncharacteristically flustered by the heat kindling behind Percival's eyes. Get it together, Scamander. “Mmh?” “Er…” Theseus racked his brains, but it’d been weeks since he’d had a vaguely sexy thought. I thought it’d be nice seemed like a mood killer for someone as skilled in talking filth as Graves. And I love you was all of the steps too far. “You…hmm. You would…um. Or maybe I...or maybe not.”

Plug in Baby

This is named for a song by the band "Muse", because I always end up doing song lyric titles. I do have four other songs that fit wayyy better with the themes, plot points, etc, but even though Muse said they forgot what the song was about because they were high (LOL), there's something particularly good about this as a title imo. This is my dark!thesleta fic, where Leta joins Grindelwald at a rally and Theseus follows her. It's set in a world where Grindelwald and Dumbledore are much more organised and there are very partisan 'sides'. Theseus is less certain, trying to convince her to leave, but when something happens that makes him fall apart, Grindelwald has enough and brainwashes/reconditions him using a mixture of drugs and magic. The 'character is turned into a weapon against the ones they love' trope, basically. It goes downhill from there, and involves Newt, Tina, Grindelwald, and Dumbledore, focusing mostly on Theseus, Leta, and Newt. The ending is a bit bittersweet, but I'd say positive, given what happens. I'm curious what the image in your head was! Hopefully, no actual babies? XD

REAL SO REAL nasuada fucking RULES!! elva being an enigma to everyone except angela is downright hilarious to me ,, they just have zero clue what to make of her. And glaedr and oromis!! I wanted nothing more as a kid than to learn from them (i used to try recreate that scene where eragon has to meditate on a tree stump and try and sense all the creatures around him. Id just sit in a field for 20 minutes and try and hear everything and identify all the sounds i could pick out.)

Also deeply loved seeing glimpses of the urgals culture in later books its so interesting to me !! And the dwarven clans and gods!!! Im just a sucker for that good good worldbuilding 😌

Kimitomo? :D

@exhaustedwriterartist Answering both of you simultaneously, since Kimitomo and Koa kinda go hand-in-hand.

Be warned that there's some violence in their backstories. I won't go into detail, but it'll be mentioned.

First off. Kimitomo. My big bundle of trauma and unhinged behavior.

Kimitomo is an ex-assassin who used to belong to this notorious clan until he was about 16. When he was about 3-4, the clan invaded his village, killed everyone older than six, and took whoever was left to be integrated into their clan. Kimitomo hardly remembers his parents, but his subconscious is very traumatized.

All of these children were quite literally brainwashed to be the perfect assassins. Kimitomo in particular was among the best at his age, so he and a couple others were chosen to be experimented on to see if their physical capabilities could be enhanced. The other two died during the tests, but Kimitomo survived and was successfully enhanced.

He's quicker and has better instincts than the average human being, and he also has SUPER sensitive senses. He smells, hears, and tastes everything, and he has incredibly sharp eyes. His sense of touch is also boosted, and it kinda gives him like a sixth sense. He can sense movement from within a certain radius of him.

However, he ended up having to sacrifice a great deal of his physical strength. He's very weak, and can't take much damage at all. Defeating him isn't much of a challenge, if you can actually manage to hit him. 😭

He lived as a mindless, highly skilled assassin for years. It wasn't until he was 16 that he finally managed to break out of the brainwashing that was given him. He had been given a job where he was meant to kill off a small, wealthy family and bring a certain artifact back to the clan. He managed to kill the father, but the children's terror broke through the barrier over his kind and threw him back to his own parents' deaths. He broke out of the brainwashing enough to let the mother and the children live and abandon the job.

After that, he ran and plotted a way to take out his clan. He succeeded, killing off all of the older members of the clan. However, he spared the children and helped them to shake off the brainwashing. He made sure to send all of them to safe places where they would have happier lives.

As for Kimitomo himself, he's kinda gone off the grid. He still greatly struggles with the effects of the brainwashing. Unlike the children he saved, he was completely under its control and was only able to partially break free. The brainwash effect is still in his mind, and it takes the form of whispers in the back of his mind urging him into violent streaks. 90% of the time he's able to suppress it. But there are moments where it bottles up so much that it breaks out in dramatic fits and he pretty much goes feral.

He wants so badly to be a good person, but he feels like he'll never be able to get there. He's very pessimistic when it comes to himself, and tends to isolate himself from others so he doesn't hurt them. However, he has a HUGE soft spot for kids. Literally cannot say no to them. 😭

As for Koa, he's one of the children Kimitomo saved from the assassin clan. He was a little bit older when he was saved, so he's still somewhat affected by his old life. However, he's been able to grow up into a kind, albeit VERY broody, young man. He's currently searching for Kimitomo because he wants to express his gratitude and try and repay him for saving him from a fate of murder and captivity.

I have an image of Koa that I generated with AI as a reference until I draw him. Yeah yeah, I know, AI art is controversial and all that, but it helps me to have a visual image of my characters when designing them.

Ooooh oooh ooooh! What’s your opinion on 3zun?

Short answer: "I love them! You can fit so much angst and trauma into this baby! *chef's kiss*"

Long answer:

You have three men with some similarities between them, but some differences that hugely affect their views of the world and themselves. Sometimes these differences enrich their relationship to one another, other times they divide them more than anything else.

JGY, for example, has one huge difference from the other two, other than the obvious, that informs a lot of his character. Unlike LXC & NMJ, he doesn't have people who depend on him for care and protection from the time he's young. Both NMJ & LXC have little brothers, and both have sects that they know will be theirs to watch over one day - to a certain degree, selflessness and duty to something bigger than them is ingrained into them from the time they're babies. JGY, however, only has his mother, so his decisions are based on what's best for him and her, his main duty is to himself and his mother. Neither is right or wrong, but it definitely informs how they address problems and their own ambitions/desires.

And then you have NMJ who has been 'preparing' for an early death his entire life. Some people have written on this better than I could, how he lives with one foot in the grave and how this influences his view on the world, on duty, on being willing to die for your sect and your ideals. And you have LXC who could probably cultivate to immortality, and JGY who is determined to survive at all costs. Completely different views of themselves.

Another thing I recently thought of is how each would view authority and the safety within. NMJ knows there is no safety in being a sect leader, that his job is to make it safe for others. LXC, however, would definitely see it as a safe place, particularly as he has his uncle's support and backing. JGY knows there is no safety in authority, and in a way I think he balks at it a bit. People in positions of authority put his mother in the situation she was, threw him down the stairs, etc - he knows that just because someone is in an authoritative position, it doesn't mean they're worthy of or deserving of respect. And by the time JGY becomes sect leader, he's killed 3 other sect leaders - nobody knows how precarious his position is better than him. The fact that NHS slides under his nose as he does is quite amazing in fact!

So yeah, they're all very different and unique. they could be so amazing together if they were all on the same page, but when they're not, they're a disaster.

But one thing is more important to anything else, imho - that they love each other. Whether you enjoy a platonic or romantic 3zun, they all do love each other so very, very much. That's why things go wrong so spectacularly - betrayal etc would not hurt so much if the love wasn't there to begin with.

Zenyatta: *sighs and floats into his & genjis on base apartment after a lengthy therapy session with sojiro* I’m Ho-… *pauses seeing Genji & Hanzo sitting there… waiting* …I told you what’s discussed in sessions is private!

Genji: But he won’t tell us anything!

Hanzo: how can we help him if he won’t let us?! He’s hurting! What if he loses control and lashes out because of it like I do?! I inherited that trauma response from him!

Zenyatta: *sighs and rubs his face* he blames himself for not taking you both & all the money he could and fleeing the clan after your mothers death & genjis birth. He regrets not making the right decision.

Genji: the- right decision?

Hanzo: how could he have possibly known things would get as bad as what they did? If he’d of run the clan would have hunted us down and killed us.

Zenyatta: yes he mentioned that. He also mentioned how he set up your mothers dream coffee shop and florist and raised you there before falling in love with two, very powerful, and familiar men… one of whom also made a different choice that involved him adopting cassidy when he was only a baby instead of a grown teenage-

Genji: HE FALLS IN LOVE WITH GABE?! WHERE DID HE- WHO WAS THE OTHER GUY?!

Zenyatta: Jack of course.

Genji: I?! HES TRYING TO GET INTO MY DADS PANTS IN THAT REALITY TO-

Hanzo: *covers Genji’s mouth* how did he even find out about all of this? Did he see it when he died? I’ve had thoughts of how differently my life could’ve gone when I was close to death…

Zenyatta: no he said his room showed him.

Hanzo: excuse me?

Zenyatta: he showed me himself too, it was quite interesting, very pretty too. *sighs* if you go look, don’t mention I told yo- *looks up to see them both gone* why do I even bother?

*A few moments later*

Genji: *knocks on Sojiros door only for Hanzo to open it and step in* I-

Hanzo: tou-san- *staggers past his brother only for what looks like a watercolour painting of a sparrow to land on his hand before flying off and landing on a tree seemingly within the wallpaper but not*

???: over here…

Genji & Hanzo: *turn to see a wall of masks seemingly floating in midair in an endless forest of watercolour cherry blossoms, peach, plum, apples… so many blossoms, so many starlings & sparrows*

Genji: d-dad?

???: hold on. Let me put my face back on… *suddenly steps out from behind a tree, Sojiros body, head, tail, but his face hidden behind a cracked faded mask* I haven’t had time to compose myself f-from therapy yet, I’m sorry you have to see me this way… *walks to the masks and pulls down one that looks like his face before putting it on and turning around to reveal, him, very much Sojiro*

Hanzo: father? I… this place? How did you fit it into your room?

Sojiro: It doesn’t exist within reality. Not outside it… it’s somewhere in between… this is the reality I live in most comfortably. Neither alive, nor dead, not human but not quite a spirit either. I can see things that have happened, things that will happen, what could have happened. I can see everything about anybody who steps in here… and you’re both grounded for snooping on my therapy. *folds his arms*

Genji: I- wh-we just wanted to help!

Hanzo: *sighs* that’s… that’s fair… sparrows right though, we merely wanted to know why you were hurting so badly…

Sojiro: because I failed you. Both of you…

Genji: dad…

Hanzo: father you didn’t-

???: tou-san! Tou-san!!

All Three: *look to the tree Sojiro emerged from to see a painting of, but unmistakably a young Jack Morrison walking into view holding toddler Hanzo, both of them waving to Sojiro*

Sojiro: *smiles tearfully & waves back making them disappear back to their reality, their dreams, their timeline…* You two… all three of us suffered because I was afraid… I took the wrong path.

Genji & Hanzo: *both walk to him and hug him tight*

Genji: it’s okay… we still found each other at the end…

my character's name is Em (short for emulate) and she's a changeling infernal (mom=changeling & dad=demon, we're using a lil bit different way to build characters but i can't remember the damn name of the book my bf used for it) she's also an inquisitive rogue fiend warlock with an aberrant dragonmark (Eberron campaign yay) that i hate to draw because i made it look complicated asf, but she has to hide it anyways so she's not thrown into jail and blamed for the murderers of 1000s of people due to a bombing or whatever the fuck happened that blew up where she grew up, but im getting ahead of myself xD i'll do bullet points so maybe this wont be too long

- ABANDONED as baby .o. (Achievement Unlocked: tragic rogue backstory start)

- put into an orphanage in Cyre and a based asf worker there teaches her how to hide her mark and helps her hide it

- in and outta plenty of homes since she can change to suit anyone's tastes, but they all never keep her too long for one reason or another and she ends up back at the orphanage eventually. living was modest neither scraping by nor finding excess comfort, she manages to keep a positive outlook and just enjoyed the company where she can find it(the trauma from all of that tho still lingers a kid will be fucked up needing to pretend who they are all the time)

- girlie turns 18 and has to hit the streets cuz she's too old for the orphanage now. what do u do if you can look like anything and need food water and shelter? become a prostitute :) now she's not hitting the streets she's working them

- eventually doing all that led her to meeting a woman named Cala, and instead of taking advantage she offered Em a job as a spy working for a branch of the army of Cyre, which sounded pretty dope compared to giving huk tuah and shit to a bunch of weird guys so she said hell yeah. Cala quickly becomes her friend and they fall into lesbianisms but they had to hide it at work so no bs happens

- age 19: during the end stages of the last war Em served by assisting with a few espionage missions getting behind enemy lines using her talents to make entry points for other troops to move in

- age 20: The Day of Mourning... during that day she was on her way back from a mission from Thrane investigating rumors of fanatical religious extremism, deciding to bail and rally reinforcements upon seeing it related to aberrant dragon marks. as she made her way back on horseback, the Mourning occurred and she could see the explosion within the distant city of Cyre painting the skys with smog. she tried to return, but the guards who managed to survive were creating a safe perimeter of demarcation and denied her entry, informing her everyone within the city had died and that she would fare no better.

- age 21: Em moves to Sharn and found out Cala survived and had the same idea, they moved in together and bonded and was more lesbianism

- age 22: a protest about the treatment of Cyran refugees that Em and Cala were participating in got violent and both of them got injured. Em's were minor, however Cala suffered debilitating injuries not curable without the help of divine magic

- age 23: Em tries to get Cala treated but unknowingly brought her to a division of Thrane extremists known by them as "the chosen" based off what they said, the group captures them and tries to make them "hosts" for whatever entity they work with. they succeeded with Cala since she couldn't fight back but Em managed to get away when they got confused over her aberrant mark. she doesn't know what happened to Cala exactly, and part of the conversation ritual affected her mind in a strange way and gave her a magical affliction from whatever force the chosen serve. it feels at odds with her infernal heritage but oddly feels good to use it, like it was rewarding her for using it

- age 24: Cala is gone so the city took her house away rip. Em is back on the streets because of all that

- age 25: doing ykw she meets a guy who also has an aberrant dragonmark, bro freaked out until Em showed hers. they shit talked the government and talked about their heritage for a bit, and since things are getting too risky for people like them they plan to run to escape persecution. shit happened and there were guards blocking the way to escape the city and they got caught. the guy tries to fight back and gets killed for that, so Em just let herself get arrested and is now in jail

so uhhhhhhh thats it, the campaign starts with all of us in jail lol xD i seem to be unable to write her backstory in a short way oops, oh well
