Okay I just cried my eyes out AGAIN when Ewan started singing. I just CANNOT deal with his voice.

To be perfectly fair, the Save Rock And Roll video has always read like a wedding of sorts, to me. Patrick walks down the stairs (ie aisle), to where Pete waits at the end of it for him with a smile and a hug. They're all wearing white, which instantly screams wedding, and they even have Elton serving as the Officiant, of sorts, handing out communion. I don't entirely think it's beyond the realm of possibility, that Elton could have clocked something... 👀👀👀

this is all very true omg!!! And it is making me think in rom com tropes, because like what if Elton is actually legally ordained (like he did it one day for kicks or something, idk who knows, that's his business) and when Patrick walks down the aisle stairs Elton says jokingly, "I now pronounce you married" but oops OOPS.

firstly, to anon that said srar music video could be seen as a wedding, your brain is HUGE and so sexy. secondly, we now need a fic where elton john accidentally officiated peterick’s marriage, cue shenanigan, some angst, and love confession, of course!

yesyesyes the angst of it all, the inner turmoil, Andy and Joe as unwitting but surprisingly chill groomsmen. Pete's genuine confusion because Patrick's been pacing around all day and avoiding him since Elton made that offhand joke (because Patrick knows about Elton being ordained, he'd mentioned it to him once in the studio).

"You guys are basically married anyway, what's the big deal?" Joe would ask when Patrick tells him, but he doesn't look away from his phone because he doesn't actually care about the answer - that's how not-big of a deal it is to him.

Andy would just laugh. And laugh, and laugh. He'd laugh himself out of the room.
