Lance was hard! He could've easily had a quaxly line as well but in the end the sniper vibe with him is too strong thus the sobble.

Hunk is stability, he is our ground, out down to earth guy he would be perfect for a turtwig!

Pidgeon here I see as another grass type trainer and since I'm sticking with the big three (grass, water, fire) I gift her the cute but powerful Rowlett.

Keith oh Keith very difficult but I gave him a little litten. From a small little orphan to a bigger,cooler,grizzled man the growth of these two can happen together. Plus he trains a lot so that final evo really works here. (Let's not forget he's got a thing for also adopting small creatures that get giant. See Kosmo)

Allura our queen would absolutely be a water type trainer. The fairy water type is the perfect combo for her Altean royalty. A queen for a queen 💞

Hi! I like to make a request, but I want to ask if you could do a Pokemon x Pokemon! Reader (ex. Pikachu x Eevee! Reader), if so is it okay to request it?

Fem Reader as Decidueye with Male Hisuian Decidueye, who somehow came to the modern/present time. Platonic/Romantic

I’ve never written something like this before, but I would like to give it a try!

-You huffed softly, watching your trainer, Timmy, fiddling with his machine again, a time machine is what he called it, you just thought it was a pain as it had set the lab and Timmy on fire twice now.

-He turned, hearing your huff, beaming brightly, “It’s almost ready Y/N! I know it! This time it will work!” you ruffled your feathers lightly, shaking the tension out of your body as you were preparing to stamp out the fire again.

-The machine came to life, mechanisms coming to life, and you paused, this was different- you didn’t know why or how, but this was different, and you grabbed Timmy, hauling him back by his lab coat in your beak, just in case before a bright flash of light stunned you both and a loud BOOM was heard, as the machine finally exploded.

-As the dust cleared, your trainer opening a window, you both froze, seeing a Pokemon lying there, one that looked similar to you, but it was different.

-Timmy went to rush over, looking excited as this other Decidueye leapt up, swinging out with a kick to keep your trainer away, thinking he was a threat, and you were quick to rush forward, holding an arrow, ready to fire after you knocked him back, catching him off guard.

-Once he didn’t move, only staring up at you in awe, he knew you were a Decidueye like he was, but you looked so different compared to others, you backed off, *Don’t attack my trainer and we won’t have problems.*

-He just nodded, agreeing before you turned to Timmy, who felt your icy gaze as you were quickly scolding him, *Who runs up to a Pokemon that you know nothing about?! What if I wasn’t here- what if he attacked you?!*

-Timmy was begging up at you, knowing that you were scolding him, “I’m really sorry for scaring you Y/N- I was just so excited!” you huffed, your feathers ruffling again as the newcomer got up.

-You could tell that this one was tamed, it had a trainer, one Timmy probably just kidnapped him from, as he wasn’t wild, allowing Timmy to inspect his wings and body- he was like a researcher.

-He looked over at you, trying to ease a bit of the tension, as you didn’t fully trust him, *So your name is Y/N?* you nodded softly, *That is the name my idiot friend gave me when I was a Rowlett. Do you have a name?* he shook his head, not looking bothered, *I don’t, my trainer just called us by what we are.*

-Just like him, you weren’t bothered, as you knew lots of trainers did that as Timmy finally spoke, “Amazing! So Hisuian Decidueye were grass and fighting types! This is amazing!” he then started to go on a rant as you sighed softly, knowing that he would be like this for at least an hour.

-You turned, moving towards the open door that led into the house, *C’mon- I’ll show you around. It will be good for you to see how things have changed.* He wasn’t sure by what you meant but followed after you.

-You were a little standoffish at first, but you were like that with everyone, something Timmy told him about, as he could tell that he liked you, probably because you were so different than others of his own species he was probably used to.

-He was very blunt about his affections towards you, not beating around the bush like other Pokemon who had tried to flirt with you- it was strange, but also a bit refreshing, as you appreciated his honesty about his intentions on courting you.

-That didn’t mean you were going to make it easy however, playing hard to get, but he was focused, wanting only you, despite meeting the other Pokemon that lived at Timmy’s lab alongside you, despite you and now this other Decidueye being his only Pokemon, as others were curious about him, he only had eyes for you.

-His tenacity was cute, you felt flattered that he was trying so hard and over time, you slowly fell for him, just little by little, but that’s all he needed, just a chance to prove himself to you.

And slightly related question, but when you do the “give me Pokémon to draw” on Instagram thing, what Pokémon do you enjoy drawing the most/do you hope someone asks for?

Also (I keep coming up with more questions as I ask lmao) do you choose which Pokémon to draw by picking the first you see or which ones you want to draw most?

When it comes to drawing Pokémon, idk if I have exact favourites? But I think I do favour the drawing the smaller cuter Pokémon, just lil guys

Also what I do for picking, I’ve been trying to exclusively only pick ones I haven’t done yet, so I can draw all 1000 Pokémon, so everyone you see me draw should be a new one, I check to make sure I’m not doing doubles, BUT I do also pick first ones I see and it is a new Pokémon I haven’t done yet. So no biased!

Pokemon Horizons Episode 45 Review - The End Of The Second Chapter

What a great way to end the second chapter! The raid battle against Rayquaza was intense but great! Liko, Roy and Dot show off their improved battling tactics alongside Friede and Amethio, who shows up unexpectedly after his colleagues retreated. Just seeing the fruits of their hard work from Amethio mastering Terastal to Liko and Roy battling so competently without the need of Friede’s handholding to Liko’s Sprigatito evolving into Floragato, a rare occurrence for Grass-type starters.

The battle between the Trainers and Rayquaza was really good. I loved how Friede chose to split them up as he took Roy and Fuecoco with him and left Cap with Liko and Dot so that he could command him to use Volt Tackle to launch up Quaxly and Fuecoco in the air. The way Roy even landed a hit on Rayquaza with Disarming Voice was so cool to see! When Amethio comes into the fray, he shows off his Tera Ghost Ceruledge and the double battle with him and Tera Dark Charizard was so cool! I can see why the kids want to learn Terastal now.

I was very surprised that the writers would allow Sprigatito to evolve into Floragato. Usually, the anime writers have a severe allergy towards making Grass-type starters evolve. Since Black and White, Ash’s Snivy never evolved; Clemont’s Chespin never evolved; Ash’s Rowlett ate an Everstone and couldn’t evolve; Goh’s Grookey didn’t evolve. I was expecting the same thing to happen to Liko’s Sprigatito, but the writers actually went beyond my low expectations. I have hopes that the same will happen for Roy and Dot and that all three kids will get their Starters to be fully evolved later on. Fuecoco also learns Flame Charge. It’s nice to see Fuecoco learning all sorts of moves. I do wonder when he’ll evolve. Maybe in ten episodes?

I’m glad that the rest of the Rising Volt Tacklers are okay after the major damage the airship took. I do worry about Carkoal’s safety as it’s not present with the other evacuated airship Pokemon. Hopefully, it’s just safe in the engine room as it does look quite heavy to be evacuated safely (yet they were able to move a Nosepass with ease). Because it will take a while for the airship to repair, their adventures come to a halt here. Since the kids will attend school, I do wonder what the adults will do. Will they take up jobs nearby and meet up with the kids occasionally?

The Explorers section was quite interesting. Gibeon tells them to lay low and wait for the Rising Volt Tacklers to get the Six Heroes and then take them from them. That sounds like a solid plan for now. He also wants them to monitor Terapagos and Liko. Uh-oh. The fact that Gibeon knows Lucius, which means that he is most likely aware that she is his descendant. A glimpse of Gibeon is seen towards the end. He has white and black hair, but in a different pattern from Amethio. I’m assuming they’re related, but as ancestor and descendant as Gibeon isn’t supposed to be alive in this era. I’m convinced he’s an AI. He also has a Shiny 10% Zygarde, meaning that Legends Z-A lore will be implemented in the near future, or it’s just an easter egg for the upcoming game. I’m also wondering why Spinel smirked at the end before being dismissed from the meeting. He seems to have more ambitious goals, so I’m curious what his deal is—and it’s not because he’s my favorite or anything, okay?

Overall, the Terapagos’s Shine chapter was a good arc. It was nice seeing progression for Liko and Roy as they grow from novices to more experienced trainers. I can’t wait to see how they will grow with Dot once they study about Terastal at Orange Academy. In fact, I can’t wait to see their school adventures! What are your thoughts on the second chapter now that it ended? Are you anticipating the third chapter?

Pokemon and Hunter x Hunter (with the help of @iwritenarrativesandstuff)...Part 3...after a billion years! I've also finished the anime at this point (yippee!) Thank you again for your input friend and encouraging me to be more active on tumblr. Wing: Tranquil (Ordinary looking birb for the for the ordinary looking guy with the birb related name. ) Zushi: Kubfu (Kid wears a gi 24/7, 365 and you can't change my mind. Kubfu is also a tiny little karate child that happens to look like a bear. It was agreed that they'd get along great.) Gido: Claydol (He spin, Claydol spin.) Sadasso: Dusknoir (He'd probably have a big scary-looking ghost.)

Riehlvelt: Electrivire (Not sure if this one's a stretch, but Electrivire has those ...antennae(?) things that are kinda like the electric whips Riehlvelt uses.)

Kastro: Ninetales (Honestly...it just looks a pokemon he'd have. They're both majestical as fuck.) Cocco: Jigglypuff (Person in voice related profession has pokemon that also uses voice. They'd feed off each other's energy.) Nostrade: Mabosiff (Mabostiff is kinda a family man. Nostrade is a bit of family man, if profiting off his kid's nen ability counts...then yeah.)

Neon: Gothitelle (Pokemon that can see the future for the girl who can also kinda see the future. It also matches her love of creepy/unsettling shit). Baise: Liepard (Purple girl boss cat for the purple girl boss).

Squala: Granbull (I don't know...I just think they'd be buddies.) Shachmono: Shuppet (Almost forgot this guy existed. This is the clostest thing to his nen.)

Melody: Whismur (They would go on musical adventures!)

Zepile: Polteagiest (Polteagiest has two forms; a phony form and an antique form. Since he buys back his counterfeit work, maybe he collects the phony ones).

Zenji: None (Honestly, I couldn’t think of anything. Sorry to the 2 Zenji fans.)

Worm: Orthworm (Worm for the worm guy).

Leech: Eeletrik (This is the clostest thing to a leech I think.)

Rabid Dog: Lycanroc - Midnight form (They can be rabid together).

Porcupine: Sandslash (Closest thing to a porcupine.)

Owl: Noctowl (You guessed it, owl for the owl man. Also Rowlett is too cute for the mob.)

Decided to soothe a little anxiety with another what-if Ash team, this time if he were to appear in the Horizons anime at some point.

The problem is that... I like both teams lol. So we could say there's one for Scarlet and one for Violet.

I decided to try and play with the idea Journeys proposed- rather than an entirely new team from the generation the anime takes place in, it's instead a mixed gen team of pokemon fans wanted him to have, some new faces, and unexpected ones.

However, because Ash isn't an MC anymore, a lot can happen. I think a really cool thing to see would be seeing a mix of him catching pokemon we fans/he missed a chance on catching, or evolving pokemon the writers either abandoned or kept cute because of stupid reasonings.

Anyways, my take on these teams:

Ash would have somehow wound up in Hisui at some point after becoming World Champion, at that point he would have had his Oshawott, Quilava, and Gible with him (and Rowlett too, but he's cursed with that stupid everstone). It'd be a quick run and I'd imagine he'd probably have a team caught from there before finding himself back in modern times via Kitakami's Crystal Pool somehow. However that quick run would be enough to finally finish out Cyndaquil's evolution to a Hisuian Typhlosion and expose Oshawott to Hisuian energy to become Hisuian Samurott. All of this would probably be mentioned briefly in passing or be a short few episode special or something before joining the group temporarily to help beat the bad guys.

So his team and a blurb for each.

Returning mons:

Pikachu: of course you gotta have this guy. I think a neat twist would be for it to be a Steel teratype because of his prolific Iron Tail usage. I'd imagine he and Cap would be great friends.

Garchomp: formerly Gible, but also an Alpha species now because it got hit with some distortion mumbo jumbo once, which prompted it to grow abd evolve rapidly. It's adapted to its new body and power, and Ash can even ride it now, but personality wise it's still a bit the same. Still biting his head out of affection especially.

Hisuian Typhlosion: again, it was already a Quilava at this point and was extremely close to finishing out it's evolution line, so by chance it finally does it. Like before, it's a bit ditzy, now becoming a bit of a sleepy boy, but also gaining a lot of power from evolution in exchange for some of its agility. I imagine now that he's taller, he gives the best hugs and takes plenty of naps with his head on Ash's shoulder or in his lap. Violet team.

Hisuian Samurott: the same Oshawott from Unova, but now greatly matured after helping to save Ash and Pikachu from harsh wilderness and dangerous Alphas. He's a bit more stoic now, and extremely loyal and strong, but deep down he still vies for adoration and attention even though he's better about it now. Praise and encouragement strive it to fight even harder. Scarlet team.

Both Typhlosion and Samurott would be evolved off screen as well, even if one appears and the other doesn't. Both also fill the role of a starter on his team since nobody has a fully evolved Hisuian starter in Journeys or Horizons yet (I'd imagine maybe another trainer would have Hisuian Decidueye). It'd feel like a good return to have a starter on the team, plus give him 2 pokemon I think he should have in some spirit or another.

New mons

Lokix: I once did an Ash run in Scarlet out of boredom, opting to give him a more traditional Paldean team (that I'd honestly change now). Something that wouldn't change is keeping Lokix, because it is universally agreed by fans that he'd have one. Hard not to see why, he's a Kamen rider bug and is very fast and nimble, and a little guy too, obviously a good formula for cool anime fights. In this case, I'd imagine Lokix being obtained as a Nymble and training hard to evolve, abd he's constantly posing and cool as hell. Even world champion Ash would get starry eyed seeing it make a cool pose after winning a battle.

Dundunsparce (3 segments): so something I noticed is that Ash tried to capture a Dunsparce TWICE in the anime- once in gen 5, and once in gen 6, both failed attempts. Something I never remembered to take into account us that Ash sometimes just gas weird or goofy/jokey Pokemon, and Journeys in particular has several Pokemon fans wanted Ash to have for years, like Gengar and Mega Lucario. So I figured 2 birds with one stone, third time is the charm and he finally catches a Dunsparce of his own. Then, it fully evolves into a whopping THREE SEGMENT Dundunsparce. It's a Pokemon Ash is rather fond of, and Dundunsparce sometimes shows affection by wrapping himself around Ash and squeezing the life out of him.

Armarouge: this seems to be a very widely agreed certified Ash Pokemon by the fans. And why not, it's a very cool design with colors that mesh well with Ash himself. I'd imagine Ash befriends a spunky Charcadet one day after making a sandwich, and instead of it being abandoned or mistreated, it's a Pokemon that has simply a desire to get stronger and actually rejects trainers for being too weak- but it saw something in Ash immediately and insisted on following him until he got caught. It eventually evolved into Armarouge after a pretty intense training session with Ash and a set of armor it received from a master of its line. Armarouge is now a very loyal bro pokemon that's especially gifted at run and gun tactics, although Ash is none too shy about using some of its moves at point blank range. Scarlet team.

Palafin: honestly this one was picked mostly to fill in a water slot, as I'm not particularly a fan of it nor do I really see Ash bothering with a Pokemon with an ability as complex as this. However, most people think this is another Certified Ash Pokemon, so I guess it's okay. I do think it'd be hilarious if Ash and most others aren't even sure where the transformed mode even comes from, but I also think for Ash to take full advantage of it, he'd eventually figure it out. A very caring Pokemon that especially goes all out against rough trainers and constantly helped Pokemon in need, but nobody has ever seen it transform once- and Ash didn't even know it did until he saw the heart on its chest. Violet team.

I definitely prefer the Scarlet team in this case, but I do think the other looks cool as hell as well. If he were to ever meet the Horizons team, I'd imagine this could be a Yugi vs Jaden GX moment for a final battle.

So we we're thinking of trying to narrow down who the potential starter Pokemon for Pokemon legends Z-A could be, assuming they do something similar to pokemon legends Arceus. So lets see who can we cross out...(Via pure speculation and theory crafting)

The Kalos Starters themselves, if it is similar to Arceus than it is very likely that we won't have any of the actual original starters for Kalos... they will be available in the game at some point but they won't be starters..

The Second Kalos Starters AKA the Kanto Starters- In the original X and Y you were gifted one of the Kanto starters once you reached Luminise City. So I will be counting them as starters for Kalos as well. It is also just a theory but I feel like if a pokemon already has a Mega Evolution it will probably be not one of the starters.

The Starters in Legends Arceus- WIth a wide variety of choices I feel like it is unlikely that they will go to the same pool of pokemon for the second legends game.

The Hoenn starters- This is Pure Speculation on my part, it is the ones I am least confident about. But the Hoenn starters all have Mega Evolutions, and I feel like they are going to want to put the focus on new mega evolutions/ new regional forms for these starters. So I just see these as Unlikely

The Elimination Round is over.. lets look at potential choices....

Now there is one Pokemon I am almost certain will be one of the starters. Another trend around the Pokemon Legends Arceus, is that they connected the pokemon and the new form to Japanese lore and history. There is one pokemon that Immediately comes to my mind for Kalos (AKA France) PIplup and its final evolution Empoleon are literally named after Napoleon Bonaparte, I double checked and this is something that is true across most if not all of the languages so this isn't just an American naming convention thing. With me that I'm sure it's very likely that Piplup will be the water starter and we can cross out the remaining water type and the other Sinnoh starters.

Next up there is another pokemon that has a connection to France. and that is the Snivy or Serperior line. Sugimori specifically mentioned Lady Oscar from The Rose of Versailles manga which is about the years leading up to and during the *The French Revolution,* Bulbapedia also makes note that some refrences might be connected to Louis XIV but thise seems less certain. So while I actually secretly hope i'm wrong and that it will be Chikorita(who deserves some love and a rework that a regional form could provide) I have a strong reason to believe it will be Snivy/Serperior

That would lead three pokemon Scorbunny, Fuecoco, and Litten. And honestly of these 3 I would have no clue. None of them seem particularly connected to france. I would say Fuecoco seems unlikely since its from the most recent generation. But Rowlett was also from a fairly recent generation... and then it hit me... Rowlett wasn't the most recent generation..but the generation right before that. And now lets look at Scorbbunny and Cinderace a bit, and Galar. Galar and Kalos if like there real world counterparts would be fairly close, and potentially have history together. Soccer while not unique to France is popular there. I think while it is the one I am least certain of I have to say it seems like a reasonable possibility. Sorbunny also would gives us one mammal, one bird, and one reptile which fits nicely in terms of creature diversity. So that will be my guess!

So just based off speculation my guess is that Snivy, Piplup, and Scorbunny will be our starters for Pokemon Legends Z-A

PokéOmens! Gym Leader 2: Anthony J. Crowley

I don't know why it took so long to post him, but here he is! In the flesh! Your Grass gymleader! I'm so sorry to the 79.5% who guessed the other likely choices. A good chunk of you are probably wondering, "Why isn't he a dark type gymleader? Isn't he the dark duke?" or "He's literally fireproof! He makes the stars, which are burning gasses of light! Why no fire?!"

Well, let's talk about him!

Back in 2019 (yes, 2019), I wanted to do PokeOmens, but instead of the GO cast being Gym Leaders, they were all Pokémon. Aziraphale was a Rowlett and Crowley was (originally) a Litten...that was until I saw a post from @speremint on her Instagram. She made Pokémon teams for both and gave Crowley a Snivy (if anyone knows what picture I'm talking about, hats off to you). From that day forward, I couldn't see him with a fire type team. Sure, he made the stars back in the day, but that was his past, not his present. He's resistant to fire, but he's scared that'll take away the things he loves. He is the dark duke, but that's a title, not him.

Mr. Crowley isn't just a gymleader. His gym works as a Grass Pokémon sanctuary for nurturing and training stray Pokémon, but he says that he does to rid fluctuating stray population in the region. The only downside is that some people don't have a keen eye and just give him anything that's green. A couple of those mishaps actually went to his partner roommate. His outfit (a mixture between Crowley's pub attire in the second episode of Season 2 and Cassius from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet) was created by his lovely friend who thought maroon would be a lovely accent color. "It's a bit purplish, right?" No, Azira. It is not.

Meet Anthony's adopted Care Team! (Created by my partner in crime)

Centi the Minior - Wait...that's not a grass type. Well, Anthony doesn't care. He's had Centi for as long as he can remember, and if other gym leaders have a problem with that, they can shove it. Besides, who else is going to nap with him when the grass Pokémon are sunbathing?

Duke the Serperior - He was Crowley's first grass type experience. Through trial and many errors, Anthony made him into a lightning quick attacker...and a bit of a spoiled brat. If Duke wasn't at the center of his trainer's attention or if another Pokémon were to invade his space by a hair, he would throw a hissy fit. Thank goodness he has Duchess to calm him down.

Duchess the Liligant - After spoiling Duke, Crowley felt it would be affective if he went in harsher direction for the next Pokémon. Thankfully, it didn't last after the first day. Poor thing was scared out of her wits. To make up for it, her trainer apologized with a little dance. She didn't know what it meant, but it did make her like him. In fact, she uses it to cheer up the sanctuary occupants, especially Duke.

Spike the Cacturne - The third time's a charm, right? Yes...and no. You see, Spike was trained properly compared to the other grass Pokémon and is quite great when battling, but Crowley never helped with her temperament. She's a fighter, not a lover. Honestly, she's barely even a tolerator. It's a good thing she only deals with training others and not caring. That's Stripe's job.

Stripe the Lurantis - He is the most caring and efficient when it comes to assisting Anthony with the nurture the sick, young and injured Pokémon. Stripe is practically harmless, and as much as his trainer dislikes that, his pacifism always wins people over.

Prickles the Maractus - While walking to his gym, Crowley spotted a box at the door. It read, "KEEP HIM PLEASE!" And he did. It's not his fault he pricks others and has a curious mind. He just needs someone who can teach him to be careful...if only it wasn't the spiky, scary one. Eh, he'll be fine.

Team update. Not a lot changed but uh. This is also like several episodes from my last update so I switched teams a lot.

Elvis is still my starter and he's still rocking it. He's very much doing necromancy and one-shotting Pokemon left and right. He's a good necromancing fire boy.

Calc is also now my Magma Drift (lava surf equivalent) and Surf Pokemon. He can only really do two things and that's "Hit hard with electric type moves" and "Paralyze Pokemon" and honestly it works. Did you know they called him the Drift King back in the wild?

Friend is still cutting down foes and is also now very protective of everyone. They're laughing manically as they cut down their foes and all Dark and Psychic types. They are very much >:)

Zuzu is a Pokemon that Oz found in a cave after fist fighting a Crobat in the dark. They were a Zubat and soon they grew up to be a Crobat and they're a fast gal who can set up Tailwind when needed or just go and kill all Pokemon that are weak to Bug, Flying, and Poison types (Leech life getting buffed is the single most amazing thing to have happened for bug types)

Penn was previously a cafe working Rowlett before wanting to explore the world and now they're with me and he's doing well. Got a good diverse moveset and is decently defensive. They are going to hit everyone hard and he's a bit of a little shit at times.

Shiron is a traded Pokemon and he went and helped with the electric and grass gym. He naturally has Hail set up for him before Aurora Borealis the screens so that Pokemon don't hit as hard as they should. He's doing great as a team member and he goes and helps with the glaring ice type weakness that I now just realized my team has. Oh no.

I could give you a list of Pokemon in rotation but oh boy that will be another ask for another day. See ya.

Obviously, almost every kid wants to be a trainer. It's cool, like being a pro athlete. I think that also applies to most of these kids, too.

Derek, Chelsea, arguably Ron, and Jack would be the only ones to have actual "battle-ready" Pokemon given their age group, even if they wouldn't be anywhere above Lv15 at the very best.

That said, the only one of them I could imagine with a "proper" starter Pokemon is Derek, and that would be Rowlett. Back when TPC were teasing Gen7, I remember seeing Dartrix and immediately thinking of him, to the point I named my own Rowlett in Ultra Moon after him.

Chelsea would have a Ponyta - from Kanto, because Galar is too new-school. Lowkey Lass energy, probably might also have a Fairy-type that may or may not have been retyped yet, or some kind of Pika-clone. Something just to be cute on top of the more composed and competitive horsey.

Ron and Jack are surprisingly difficult to vibe check Pokemon-wise, but they also overlap a bit... Their Pokemon would be less flashy and impressive. I think Ron would have a baby Pokemon that he's super proud of, even if he is on the less brawny side as his friends at the present. Maybe a Pichu or Togepi. His dad worked very hard to get it for him. I am also inexplicably drawn to Wooloo but that may be my sheep bias talking so I will not say anything for certain.

Jack would probably get something extra from his older brother, Jeff, but nothing impressive. I'm drawn to a lot of Unova Pokemon for him, too... To give it some lore, let's say he picked an elemental monkey, and Jeff went, "You know what, I know how to make your team better," and got him something to cover a weakness. Maybe Blitzle if he picked Pansear, or Drillbur if he picked Panpour/Pansage.

He also feels like he'd have a Ralts. Somehow. But also, I feel that's a bit much/brawny for him.

Jeff is probably old enough to have probably caught a cute little Stufful and raised it long enough for it to evolve into Bewear, and it freaks Jack out sometimes with how destructive it can be.

Luke has Youngster energy. He scrounged together enough money to buy a ball and catch his own Patrat or Lillipup or a bug or something. He probably got a little injured in the process but he's fine, that's just how kids are. He also probably has a family dog Pokemon of some sort at home already.

Will would be the kind of kid though to have befriended something wild at a young age, and also have that thing have stupidly high potential. That said, he also has Espurr energy.

Maybe he'd also "share" something with Derek. Something his older brother caught him and is helping him raise until he's old enough. A bird or bug, perhaps. Natu?

Assigning every kid a Pokemon based on their animatronic would be too easy. :P Besides, there aren't any chicken Pokemon besides Torchic...

Though if I had to assign each kid a proper starter in some kind of "Nobody Dies AU", let's sayyy: Derek = Rowlett, Chelsea = Tepig, Ron = Chikorita, Luke = Charmander, Will = Squirtle, Jack = Piplup.

Porfirio is the kind of guy who doesn't stop until he gets what he wants, so the second he learned what shinies are, he would've thrown away hours of his life to get his hands on the perfect one, even as someone too young to have a Pokemon. So he has a Shiny Gourgeist he calls Dyniusia ("Little Pumpkin") almost as old as he is, and it's Super size for good measure. A tall purple Pokemon that kills people and loves to sing - just like its trainer! It's his prized possession and it totally gets him, so that's why it's the only living thing he treats with any genuine sort of affection and comradery. (I don't wanna make anyone mean to Pokemon, that's going too far.) Maybe he would've been a decent competitive trainer if he wasn't such an awful person...

Alexander, on the other hand, is the kind of guy who doesn't have the constitution to be a sporty trainer, but plenty of non-trainers have domestic Pokemon, and he would be no different! He'd have a Chatot. It always comes back to Chatot. He gets talkative when he's anxious, so having a chatty friend to bounce off of feels appropriate! Plus, my perception of Chatot being an organized managerial type has been heavily influenced by PMD... Unfortunately, it works as an emotional support Pokemon as frequently as it doesn't. He might complain to it about a certain person... and then it'll say those things right back to their face. It makes him die a little inside every time, but what can you do?

There would be a lot of Shuppet hanging around the pizzeria (since they're attracted to "vengeful emotions", such as those a group of murdered spirits would have), which… doesn't help its reputation.

Pre-pubescent Gender Dysphoria

One of the common questions about puberty blockers is: "if a person is experiencing dysphoria before puberty, how can you tell it's from one hormone or the other?"

This is a pretty solid argument IMO, because if a person feels discomfort in their gender AND they're constantly inundated with talks about gender and sexual characteristics, then it's quite possible to confuse pre-pubescent dysphoria with gender dysphoria.

For me personally however, in the world "before trans people were a thing"; puberty wasn't great.

So you know those old "Mad" skits about the hundred bladed razors that get a close enough shave to remove the hair follicles?

Yea... I had done that to myself through unconscious dysphoria. It was made worse when I went to basic military training and the Dysphoria and stress and "dress and appearance regulations" mixed together though.

But, I can *also* see how an improper solution can be presented to a problem that you inherently don't have the verbage to vocalize.

So... Do you wait until you're in your twenties to be allowed to make decisions for yourself? If that dysphoria exists through and post puberty?

The question might be; well ... Similar to depression, perhaps the straight people you're surrounded by are just assholes and you're simply looking for community.

You can get a sense of community from one of the multitude of PVE-MMO's if you really want one.

Which then might be construed to say; well they're typically full of Queer people anyway, so how do you know a non-toxic [straight] space wouldn't do the trick.

And it's at that point I remind you; most queer spaces will tell you "it's more important to be yourself than to be Queer." Trans women especially go out of their way in order to ensure that people don't do a self-harm.

Myth Hunters (11/?)

Day 61

At the gate, Mai told me that, the last she’d heard, things were still calm in the Highlands this morning. After talking with the Security Corps, I convinced them to escort me from Cogita’s home to the Highlands, so we didn’t waste extra time, and I headed to see her first.

Volo arrived shortly after I did; is it just good timing or is he watching me? Either way, Cogita, while glad to see we’d tracked down all the Plates she had hinted at, wasn’t ready to tell us any more information. And since I don’t currently have access to three logs of wood, I’ll have to come back later. Luckily the Highlands are quite heavily wooded and it won’t be that hard to pick up a few logs for Cogita during my investigation of the outbreaks.

Sabi was also in the Highlands, and reported that there was an outbreak of all Alphas, like the Ursaring I encountered in the Mirelands.

Despite Sabi’s warning, I didn’t encounter any Alpha Pokémon during my investigation, which took most of the day. However, with the sun setting on my way back to report in to Mai, a Space-Time Distortion began to form. Checking my map, I realized that it was centered exactly over one of the places that there had been an outbreak; perhaps this a point in favor of the the Professor’s theory.

There was an Alpha in the distortion at one point, an Octillery. I also encountered the first Rowlett I’ve seen outside of the one the Professor recently gifted me with. By the time I cleared the distortion, it was morning again. I’m going to check in with Mai and sleep until the afternoon; Cogita can wait until tomorrow.

Day 62

While I was debriefing Mai, Adaman stopped by. Seems he’s feeling left out of all the cooperation going on in the investigations and wanted to step up. I do quite appreciate all the crafting material for Sticky Globs he brought by, as they should keep me well supplied for a while.

Always nice to learn a bit more about my friends, and the banter between Adaman and Mai was a goldmine of information. Mai made clear here what I was already suspecting, she’s basically the big sister of everyone in the Diamond Clan.

Adaman asked a question that feels like another piece of the puzzle.The professor theorized that the locations of the outbreaks were somehow connected to the Space-Time Distortions, and as Dialga and Palkia and the rulers of Time and Space, they may be involved in both. But if anyone is setting this challenge, it’s probably Arceus, since this is massively helping me reach his stated goal for me: “Seek out All Pokémon”. Still, I’m exhausted. I’ll see what Cogita has to say tomorrow.

We have results! Please keep in mind these results are being compiled for use in a full results post come the end of this not-so-little event! Also, we'll be going from the bottom up! Least to most votes, let's go!

At the absolute bottom, with precisely no votes, Bulbasaur and Chikorita. Let me tell you, as someone who is incredibly biased and so tends to give him Chikorita themself? Funniest shit right here. I'm not surprised on either end, neither is the sort of thing one would expect for him, just find it amusing for me specifically.

With just one vote, we get- nearly half of what's left. Specifically, in order- Squirtle, Tepig, Oshawott, and Rowlet. Again not really surprising overall, none have anything to really just out as a Kevin potential. Little bit surprised with Rowlett, it is a Round Bab, but otherwise.

Two votes went to Popplio! Get some happy joy going in his life with the little seal. Not among the most popular of choices, but not hard to see why people would go 'give it to the boy, pls'.

But then we move back into multiples! Three pokemon got three votes- Charmander, Totodile, and Snivy! All of these are understandable. People seem to think Kevin is a fire-type guy (we'll get to that), Charmander are pack critters, and let's be real the line is very much a popular classic. Totodile are rough and tumble, dangerous but friendly (though I do find it funny given a line in the AF season 3 premiere could imply Kevin is scared of crocodilians- boy gets to get over his fear or else). Snivy, meanwhile, are known for being loner types that take work to really get working well with a trainer but end up intimidating and powerful serpents (plus, the hidden ability is Contrary, I wouldn't be surprised if it played a role).

The winner though! With five votes! Is a fucking tie! Cyndaquil! Timid little thing that can grow to either compliment his brute force with a leaning toward explosions and such or to balance it with a gentle disposition! Litten! A solitary critter, slow to trust, that grows to become aggressive, disobedient, but loving all the same! Both fire-types because that's what this fandom wants for our boy!

This does, of course, mean that we need a way of handling ties on the starter end of things. And I think what we're going to say, is that ties for the win result in multiple winners, up to a full team of six. If we get more than a six-way tie, then we hold the vote again. It makes sense to randomize a tie in the first round, because everybody gets another chance to vote, but with this being the final round for Kevin... I don't feel right picking a random winner.
